Although I loved About Life when it opened here, recent changes have meant the cafe closes at 3pm and no food can be ordered after this time. The buffet food quality has also gone down, with the same meals each week, with not as many food allergy friendly food available. The grocery and fresh produce section are still open late and have great organic food. However many items have been out of stock here lately very regularly. The staff are still very friendly but the wait times for coffee and meals has increased quite a lot. I love the philosophy and mission of About Life, I really hope they can get back to what they do best!

So disappointing compared to the other stores. The salad/hot food bar in the surry hills one for example is about 15x the size of the lane cove one and its fresher with better options. Shelves are often empty. I hope it improves because i love the other stores

I'm a great fan of About Life, however I usually shop at their Rozelle or Bondi Junction stores. Had lunch with a friend today at the Lane Cove store and it is fabulous. Large and well laid out, with the usual good selection of fresh and packaged organic produce. The staff were all very friendly and the deli section at the back of the store is nicely done. The deconstructed sushi plate I had for lunch was delicious.

This place has taken Lane Cove by storm. It is unique and does very healthy meals. We love it for fermented vegetables (especially sauerkraut), the range of milk and the atmosphere while kicking back with a coffee. Oh, and we also love the free coffee grounds as a take home addition to the compost heap.

I was totally dismayed today after visiting the Lane Cove store. I don't always carry our store card because it's more of an inconvenience. I was told about the new policy not to look up customer to tag groceries. Not only is this bad customer service but it's hasn't got the interest of the customer in mind. I am happy to take my business elsewhere in future.

We really enjoy this place for breakfast lunch & produce.
This store did have a major problem with Indian minors inside & out, however, the new store manager John solved the problem & its no longer an issue...
28 March '17 - Regarding the cafe, seems strange that it now shuts @ 4pm. I now have to resort to bottled coffee! The store now has the shut down feeling of 6pm instead on 8pm...
4 April '17 not sure what's going on, but now lots of food missing from shelves & everything has been re-arranged??? A recipe for disaster!

I hardly ever write reviews but this time I thought I really had to. Ate at the cafe and it was terrible.
1) Chicken Burger - chicken was really dry. The side of sweet potato chips were verging on having a burnt taste. They were also soggy, limp and cold.
2) Pulled Pork - This was extremely salty. So salty that we couldn't eat it. I am not one to leave food behind, (especially meat!), but it was inedible. We could only eat 1/4 of it and left the rest.
3) Kids Beef Burger - This one tasted the best but unfortunately my daughter could only eat parts of it. The tomato relish that is spread on the bun is quite spicy. I told the staff that it was spicy and they said it was supposed to be like that. I then commented that it was unusual that a kid's meal would be spicy. (I enjoy spicy food and even I thought this was quite spicy). The staff member then said he thought it should have anything spicy in it. It was quite confusing! The beef patty tasted quite nice but was a little on the salty side.
Altogether, the meal cost over $40. That is a extremely pricey for what you get. The food just did not match the philosophy of the supermarket at all. It's promoted as healthy but our meals didn't feel like that at all.

I love this store. A little bit expensive but it's the only place in the area where I can find milk from grass fed cows. Meal selection in nature servery isn't boring. And they offer coffee in jumbo size.
