This is the first 100% gluten free cafe we've been too. After two visits; everything we've eaten so far has been exquisite. Ontop of just having gluten free food the shop is a very welcoming environment and every single member of the staff has been a pleasure to deal with.
And to top it off you dont pay the gluten free tax that most other cafe's like to charge.

We're going back for dinner tonight and can't wait.
Did some researching on line & found this cafe, it was absolutely fantastic! So glad we came here for breakfast. It was such a relief to not have to worry about what menu items I could or couldn't eat as everything was gluten free!!! & the food itself was absolutely scrumptious!! We had a bunsky, mushrooms on toast & little breakfast. The food was so great we even took some bunsky for a takeaway lunch
Staff go above and beyond for the customers, the whole place is just gorgeous and the food, well, I don’t have many words except that its exceptional
Friendly service in an eclectic atmosphere. Best part.... I had my very celiac friend and we did not have to spend forever checking the menu, it is all gluten free. Top marks!
Our last stop in Launceston before travelling to Hobart had to be Samuel Pepy’s Cafe. At their newly occupied location of 106 George Street, Launceston the eccentric 100% gluten free cafe is a must do. Serving up modern cuisine in an antique homestead convert. From the plush chairs to the spoon collection adorning the walls, the atmosphere is fun and eclectic.
Been here a few times now, food always good and staff friendly, it has however moved from Yorktown Square to 106 George Street, still the same eclectic furnishings even the spoons made the transfer :)
This is a great place. We went there for breakfast and loved it. Eggs cooked how they should be cooked and the coffee was so good. Quirky decor and friendly staff. You need to check out the spoon collection.
Gluten free heaven! More than happy to help with any dietary requirements. Friendly owner who loves a good chat. ‘Pay it forward coffee’ to donate a cuppa to those less fortunate. Massive teaspoon collection. Open Fridays and Saturdays for dinner 6pm-8:30pm. Loved it here and returned a number of times. Will be back next time I’m in Launnie and would highly recommend this place!
Fantastic food for both gluten free eaters and all you wheat eaters.
The Big Breakfast was amazing with homemade hash browns eggs sausages mushrooms spinach bacon and tomatoes.
The Waffles with fresh strawberries, maple syrup and ice cream were delicious...would never have known they were gluten free.
Wish there was a place like this in Indooroopilly in Brisbane.
As a Celiac traveling overseas it's always a bit nerve racking trying to find places to eat. What a wonderful find Samuel Pepy's Cafe was! The staff were friendly, the food was excellent, and because everything they serve is gluten free, there's no worry about cross contamination. I had the battered fish and chips and the salted caramel iced latte – so delicious! I would highly recommend.
Best breaky that we've had in Launceston so far. We started with some incredible coffees followed by the big breakfast and smashed avo. Great flavours and great service. Thanks team!
I came to experience warm and genuine hospitality wherever I go in Launceston and if I were to rate them all, the lovely and sweet people at Samuel Pepy's Cafe most likely will come out top. The whole cafe is decorated with vintage stuff and has a wall dedicated to old teaspoons. Up the old rickety stairs to the upstairs seating area and you are greeted with colouring books for both adults and kids to pass time while you wait for your meal. The heavily buttered salmon and egg bunsky with sour cream was a decadent treat masquerading as a healthy breakfast. The mixed mushroom on toast with spinach was definitely the healthier sibling. Washed it all down with a mug of skinny latte, which was unfortunately a bit weak, and we are all set for an adventure. PS - the peanut butter cookie is absolutely ffffing delicious, it's like eating solidified peanut butter.
