A must try for food hunters!
The brisket was perfectly BBQed, fork tender, succulent and flavorful.
The Jambalaya had good texture, soft but not mushy and the freaking hot sauce that John gave us that made it an excellent dish.
Thanks John and his team for serving us such a sumptuous meal and making the already cozy place so welcoming.

Had a great date night at smoky Joes last night. We booked our table and when we arrived the wait staff were great. We had a table in the front room. The Negra was a perfect start to our meal. First time we had this beer. We had the Barramundi fish cakes for entree which was the perfect start before being served the special, Jambalaya and the Brisket which we shared. I love having a meal once a month here. Smoky Joes is such a small cosy restaurant with a warm atmosphere and food that you won't be disappointed with. Great value for money. Cheers. We will be a back.

Service was good, as is the range of drink options. Menu is comprehensive and there's something for everyone there. We both had the brisket and did not regret it. Packed with flavour and accompanied well on the plate, we left the place merry, content and full. Would come again to spend some more time exploring the menu next time I'm back.

Food was amazing! Great customer service and atmosphere. We went with our 2 boys aged 6 and 8, they enyoyed the popcorn chicken and fries whilst the grown ups had the Boston butt and briskett. Tender, melt in your mouth and with sides that perfectly balanced each dish followed by the peach cobbler. To top it off a delicious and very reasonably price French sparkling wine. Highly recommend!

Gotta give credit where credit is due. Awesome portion sizes for the price you pay, but I'm a quality over quantity guy and the quality was awesome. 4 of us, 3 ribs, a half chicken and a jambalaya. The wife dinner (jambalaya) was the best thing she ate in all if Tasmania in the 10 days we were here. My ribs we're tender as, flavoursome and hearty. A great experience and highly recommended.

Very disappointed with the availability of items on the menu. I was part of a group of 9 on Saturday night. All the entrees came out at separate times, 35 minutes between when our first diner got his entree till the last diner got his. Everyone had very small servings. 2 of the group's entree choices were not available, we we're not advised this when our order was taken. 3 of the main course items were not available, this was advised quite a while after the order was taken. They had no ribs at all! It's known for its ribs and they had none! Not good enough! We we're not asked if we wanted coffee or desserts at all. Will not be going back

WOW... what a wonderful slice of New Orleans heaven tucked away in little Ol' Launnie.
We loved the atmosphere as soon as we walked in the door. We were seated straight away and the place was packed full. All the other customers were in high spirits which instantly made it warmer.
Our food came to us very quickly and was delicious, the waiter and waitress were excellent at explaining our meals and telling us what sauces went best with what.
We had stuffed mushrooms and crocodile tails for an entree. And gumbo and BBQ ribs for our main. Our meals where absolutely delicious. My partner and I decided we can't eat anywhere else. For those that complain about portion size, I don't understand. You won't leave this place hungry.... I promise. Good, hearty, real food.

Went here many years ago and was fantastic then it appeared to go downhill but went back last night and was even better then it ever was I had the dry ribs crocodile and cinimon banana for dessertđ Itâs My favourite place to eat out now canât wait to go back. At long last, I finally ate here last night. And oh my goodness.... it was absolutely superb. I was desperately hoping it would be good, and it exceeded my every expectation. Deep fried crocodile, Chimichanga (deep-fried shredded beef burrito), Boston Butt (pork shoulder with BBQ sauce), Boudin balls (deep-fried cajun sausage balls), hot wings.... absolutely sublime. And, added bonus, the atmosphere was awesome, the staff were wonderful and the overall feel of the place was just fabulous. My new favourite restaurant! Literally can hardly wait to go back to try some more of the dishes on the menu. It's so rare to have a 5 out of 5 dining experience these days but Smokey Joe's - you've nailed it.

This place was fantastic. The staff were so fun and our waiter was so polite and prompt. The atmosphere was great. The food was phenomenol, big servings.. Not too much that you waste it, bit enough to make you happy full. I will definitely be taking all my friends back.

This was my third visit to Smokey Joe's, and I couldn't ask for more. Also my second visit for a birthday; they are happy to refrigerate and provide plates etc. for home brought birthday cakes (reasonable cakeage fee), very friendly staff, amazingly warm and cosy atmosphere, and food as always, consistently superb. Go the Boston Butt!
My only possible reservation.....the meals are so generous we didn't have room to actually eat the birthday cake! Wish I could give 6 stars, so: ******

This place was amazing offered exactly what we needed after a 3.5 hour hike through Cradle Mountain. Great food. Great service. Amazing atmosphere. Delicious desserts and drinks. Highly recommend.

Great place. The staff were fantastic, attentive but unassuming. All of our food was delicious and filling. As a bonus, they have cocktails as well. These were outstanding, but left no room for a dessert... Can't wait for next time.

Last minute choice been here plenty of times always wonderful food and service. We had mushroom and crocodile starters then shared the pork ribs and chicken combo. Tactful as it left room for dessert. Last couple to dine but didnât feel rushed. Two little points was a little cold seated in main room and lovely staff member Kim was not working.

Great food and great atmosphere. Had Cajan wings, Nth Carolina ribs with baked potato, deep fried mushrooms and dry rub ribs with warm potato salad and fried beans. Yum yum. They make their own hot sauce too. Not for the faint hearted. Their beignets and chocolate creme brûlée are just stellar. This is our 4th visit. We will be back again.

What else can I say but Damn...after not dining here for a while it was always going to be the Cajun hot wings and the Boston Butt without even looking at the menu! Once again almost slipped into a food coma, Smokey Joes you are like a drug and I am well and truly addicted !ïżœïżœ
