Very delicious chips and fish. The staff are very nice. I will come again.

Standard fish n chip shop. Prices average. Reasonable wait time. Only place to eat food is outside at old benches without shade.

Firstly, let me just say that it pains me to have to write this. I wouldn’t call myself a regular however I have been coming here sporadically for the past 3 years and have seldom been disappointed. My only quibble was that in the past I would occasionally get a piece of fish that was too oily. This was due to the fact the cook did not let the fish rest long enough once it had been removed from the deep fryer and was too hasty in serving it to the customer. Thankfully though the oil situation resolved itself and I hadn’t had a negative experience for a long time…until three weeks ago. Yes, that’s how long it has taken me to recover from my last visit and pen this review such was the psychological trauma inflicted upon me. It’s difficult to put into words the abomination that came into my possession on this particular day. What began just like any other and by about 6 o’clock in the evening felt did I a tremendous craving for a delicious piece of fried flake. A craving I’m sure many of you know all too well. But when I parked my car and prepared to eat what lay before me was a piece of fish unlike any I had ever seen before. Unparalleled horror. It was almost as if the vendors of this shop decided to grab an old boot that just happened to be lying on the kitchen floor and toss it into the deep fryer as an experiment. One of my greatest regrets in life is biting into that experiment. I guess a combination of hunger and curiosity got the better of me. Few things are more terrifying in life than biting into something and not knowing if you’re going to die. ‘Twas no fish. Confronted with a hopeless situation I had no other recourse but to dispose of the thing and do some hard drugs to help take the edge off. Vendors, if you are reading this, I can tell you that your experiment was a success, if your goal was to sabotage my love of fish and chips for the rest of my days.

Probably the best hot chips I've ever eaten! I was in the area and this place came up in a quick search for fish and chips, and I was delighted by a surprisingly good lunch.

I drove down to get some nice fish and chips and went to order but the place was burnt down shame really I wanted my food right there and then

The shop itself is well presented with nautical themes. However the battered fish was not evenly coated and very greasy as was anything that was battered. Chips were OK. Not sure if the previous reviews are biased, out-of-date, or just friends of the owners - I notice now that they do mostly talk about the quality of the service and not the quality of the food.

Love this place. Yummy takeaway food. And the staff so lovely and friendly. Very clean shop. 5 star all the way.
