Review Morty's Food Hall - Launceston

A member of the staff here is undeniable horrible. Mortys opens at 8 o’clock of a morning and me and my friends were sitting in mortys as it was a nice warm place, she then approaches us and tells us we can’t sit in there without buying anything (none of the food stalls were open) so i question how we were meant to buy anything without anything being open, and she then basically told us we needed to leave because we weren’t buying anything. She also does this multiple times throughout the day if we don’t have any food and just want a place to sit, she is selective into who she allows to sit even if they aren’t being food either. We are also not ruining service, and there are plenty of other seats for customers. This is unacceptable.

Lunch @ Morty's Tassie Grill; on the menu today was a generous serving of lasagna & veggies. Excellent customer service & the meal was available at a great price (under $10) with pepper gravy. Washed down with a glass of Cascade Export Stout from the Coffee & Wine bar ($6). Strange ambience with background noise comprising the muted/noisy conversations of other diners & crying children ie: no music on this occasion. I must say that I do miss the central fountain that gave the eating area a certain magic & some much needed negative ions!

Great coffee and very friendly service.

Typical cheap Chinese food below average quality and lack flavour even with msg. The fried rice is more just rice with minimal ingredients.

I find the place clean and nice friendly atmosphere. Great place to catch up with friends. There is a great range of menus including Indian, Thai, Chinese, ice creams, also a lovely wine/coffee bar, juice bar etc. One unoccupied premise would make an excellent fish and chip shop. I meet friends there every week before heading to the movies just a 2 minute walk away.

I really like the variety of cuisines that this place has to offer. More so, the system of collecting your own cutlery from designated spots rather than have each individual vendor provide its own is really economical and environmentally friendly. Way to go Morty's!

Enjoyed the meal but needs to have more variety maybe when the two kiosks that are available to lease are occupied. Great coffee from the coffee and wine bar. Not my first visit and will be back again.
