Review Milk Bar - Launceston

I’d give them six stars if I could. The sandwiches are off the charts. The Reuben in particular is amazing! Highly recommend this place.

Great food, coffee and service. Their vegan sandwich was top notch.

Cosy, friendly staff, great food. 👍. Another favourite, Turkey and cranberry, plus hot chocolate.😊

Simple little cafe. Food presentation on shelf wasn’t that appealing so I didn’t order any, but coffee was good as usual. Friendly staff.

I loved the unpretentious ambience of the place, its scale was intimate and decor comfortably casual. The "Reuben" jumbo sized toasted sandwich I had was scrumptious with generous lashings of sauerkraut to balance the saltiness of the pastrami. Washed down with an aromatic rose tea. The host (forget his name) and side-kick Damon were charming and really nice to their patrons. If they were licenced it would be a perfect and quiet place to lunch with a friend.

Greats options for breakfast or lunch, although it can be difficult to choose. We just had the best damn Bành mi (Vietnamese sandwich) - authentic flavours from the best Tassie produce. Friendly service as well as delicious coffee and sweets. We'll definitely be back.

We weren't looking for anything fancy and the food here fitted the bill. Was a difficult choice between the homemade soup and bacon and egg roll. Our choice was delicious. Staff friendly and coping with the influx of customers with a welcoming attitude. May have to come back for a milkshake later this week.

Our friend stumbled on this cafe and suggested we visit on our last day in Launceston. Well, what an absolute delight. The staff were just gorgeous - very attentive and friendly. The homemade sweet potato soup was delicious and the sweets mouth-watering. I loved the roibos tea with orange rind and dark chocolate. The 50's decor was very cool. If you are after an authentic cafe experience in Launceston with great food, tea/coffee and a personal touch, the Milk Bar Cafe is a must do.

Such a cute, cozy, and quaint little coffee shop! The decor is so lovely with vintage bits and bobs, and the staff are always friendly and warm! The menu is filled with tasty treats (the milkshakes are ace) and the retail space in the back features some really cool products from local makers. It's always a treat to pop in for something yummy :-)

We absolutely love this cafe. The coffee is spectacular and the soup delicious. Fleur provides a really comfortable and cosily friendly environment with some really lovely art works decorating the walls. And we really loved the beautifully moist carrot cake.

I love the food, & the coffee! I try & eat mostly gluten free & Fleur caters well in this area! With lots of yummy savoury & sweet foods..

Small cafe in the town where I got a fantastic breakfast.
Delicious croissant and sandwich, great hot chocolate, all of them were not expensive.
Good food Good life on my trip in Launceston, Tasmania
Friendly waitress and owner. Given we were tourist and started the first day, the owner provide enough help for our car parking. Food is good with fair price. And my wife and I love the beetroot salad.

Had a few minutes to spare to popped in for a quick coffee. I also had a homemade florentine. I'll definitely be back to try more for delicious looking treats that Milkbar has on offer. The cafe has a great vibe. I noticed that there is a second room with more tables & lounges.

Friendly service in a shopfront decked out in 1950's - 60's theme
No menu, what you see is what you get.
Limited breakfast options
Had the $7 toasted sandwich which was well a basic toasted sandwich typical of something you could whip up at home not something you would look forward to paying $7 for in a cafe.

Honestly after all the great write ups on this place, I was expecting a lot more! It's a tiny little place whose menu comprises whatever is in the display cabinet.
The little shop out the back is quaint but again very small. The coffee was nice and the service lovely, as noted in other reviews.

Lovely nostalgic atmosphere in cafe: laminex tables, burnt orange curved counter. Warm driendly service. Just had coffee...top notch!! Will definitely return next time I am in in Burnie to try the food!!

This was a lovely little cafe my husband and I stopped at for lunch. The service was amazing with the waitress making me a delicious Nutella mocha which I very much enjoyed. We also had the lamb and the prosciutto panini which were both delicious and very fresh. I will definitely recommend this to friends and family.

Only had an espresso here, but very friendly service from the owner. Coffee was pretty good, exceeding expectations of what was expected. Can see why it rates well on zomato.

Had my brekky here and it was amazing. We enjoyed the coffee 4/5....decent after taste...the different rolls and toasty was yummy... The bread was toasted perfectly. The mushroom pesto and tomato lacks abit punch but the sweet chili chicken and chicken quiche was the bomb!!! The owner was really friendly with great service. Deco was apt but the plating was simple. You could drop by if you are in the area. In terms of price it's normal for a cafe I guess

Great Cafe - Awesome owner, really lovely. The food is real, authentic and simple. If you're after something light and quick this is the place to go in Launie!

Is this the most expensive cafe in Launceston? $7 for a toasted sandwich and $6 for their largest coffee. Jesus. At least the place has a cool decor.

Friendly staff. Decent coffee and food

Best coffee in Tasmania. The coffee here is amazing. The staff are friendly and always happy. Cheap food that tastes good.

Just great. Local talent

Great coffee

Close to work

Don't fuss over how you pay - the glass is always over half full here!!!!!!!

Great coffee finally found. Having moved from the mainland 12 mths ago finding a decent coffee place has proven difficult, many are still in the 70s. The Milkbar meets the challenge with great (that's great) coffee and a good range of reasonable eats (under $10). The owners are friendly and the décor just the right bit of quirky.

Love this place. I love this place, the owners are lovely and the food is reasonable for the high quality. I will return again and again.

Best coffee in Launceston. Fantastic coffee, nice relaxed cafe with great friendly service. Lunch options are simple but fresh and delicious, and the hazelnut cheesecake was incredible!

Nice atmosphere with a quirky widndow display and retro furniture creates a relaxed feel. Open early in the mornings which is great because you can get in early before the ticketed parking starts at 9am.
Good coffee, I had a lovely affrogato.
Downsides are no toilet on site and food options are limited. (No hot/cooked breakfast food available) but the toasted ham and cheese croissant was yummy :)
Paul
Great conscience free coffee. and tasty local food. Nice decor and owners
Kate
Great coffee, tasty food, lovely thoughtful shop and friendly staff/owners?

A Little Gem.. Amazing coffee, tasty treats, friendly staff in a funky environment. Do yourself a favor.

Dear Ronald Jeremy. It's unfortunate that you felt Damien was being rude by explaining that we have a 50c fee for card transactions under $10. Providing card facilities is very expensive for small independent businesses like ours, especially for a transaction of a single cup of coffee ($3.50). Most of our customers are grateful that a little place like us even has card facilities, let alone will let them pay for transactions under $10 by card.

We're glad you enjoyed your coffee though!

Kind regards,
Isis & Damien
Milkbar Owners

Good coffee Rude staff. I ventured into this new coffee shop a couple of weeks ago on the hype and reviews. I like what they have going there. But if you are going to argue over 20 cents and insist that you are always right and not the customer then I will never set foot in your establishment when there are so many more options around that are more convent and have friendly staff. But I must say, the coffee was good!

A cafe and workshop space, they serve organic drinks and food, all made in house. Out the back is a workshop where they hold ‘making’ sessions for all sorts of things: photographic screen printing, sewing, woven wall hangings and bound journals are just a few of this months workshops. Their mantra is local, fresh, organic, in-season – and they cater for food allergies with ease.
