Wow! I'm a fiend for waffles at cafés so couldn't go past the chocolate fondue waffles at Wheelhouse Coffee in Lawnton. Probably the best waffles I've ever had in my life... crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, amazing! Fruit on the side was a nice touch also. The chocolate was yum but a big gluggy, not sure if this could've been fixed by heating more before serving.

Love the rustic feel of this place. We ordered the waffle with homemade cinnamon butter and fresh fruit. BLT and avo smash.
We had the Weiss smoothie which has mango and banana and berry smoothie and iced caramel latte. They were all yummy. We also had home made carrot cake which had been warmed up. The cake was amazing with spices and moist.
The Food came out quickly and service was friendly.
The homemade cinnamon butter was amazing on the not to crunchy waffles. They were a sure hit.
The dukkah I don’t normally like but I loved their dukkah on the avocado smash.
The blt was enjoyable. The ginger and date slice was also amazing.
The only thing I would offer is some danish feta on the avocado smash
Busy little cafe for a Saturday morning. Being new to Brisbane I am trying everything and anything to suss out nice little finds. Long wait for 2 small soy lattes (take away) and not very strong tasting. However, there was no double tapped burnt crap taste so kudos for that.
Just moved into area and decided to go for Sunday brekkie. Great atmosphere. Service was spot on. Had the steak sandwich on gluten free bread and they inquired if the aioli was ok to put on as well. It was super tasty. My partner had the Graham burger and loved it. The tomatoes were beautiful - granted Mother Nature has much to do with that, but was lovely to see bright red slices instead of faded out ones. We will be back.
The coffees were great. The food was good and exactly what you expect. Ordered the Graham burger, it was nothing extraordinary, the menu is limited but very simple. Service was attentive. The place looks pretty cool as well. Overall, a good experience. Regret: should have got the other burger that my partner got! Lol.
I often stop here after Petrie Parkrun. A nice cafe with a lovely atmosphere and attentive staff. The bacon and egg breakfast is a great way to start your day and my dining party tell me the coffee isn't bad either (I'm a tea person, thumbs up for sending the hot beverages out with a little chocolate on the saucers - a cute touch!)
This place has fantastic coffee, the food and service is top shelf. Great homemade goodies! We stop here every weekend for our caffeine fix.
I've been here a few times and the coffee is always great. I have never eaten here though. The staff are always very lovely!

I walked back in looking around to say 'thank you' before leaving, and the owner jumped up from having her break and came to make sure I was ok.
Great place, coffee was nice, meals were nice and well priced. Staff were friendly and cheerful. The menu is small but I believe fills most peoples requirements and what we ordered came out well presented and delightful. The tomato relish was delicious and I was glad that I ordered it as a side. The only suggestion that I would make is salt and pepper on the tables. It wasn't something that I would necessarily complain about but a bit of pepper would have made my breakfast 100% we will definitely return all the same. I really love these little local places that do a good job.
Food was great and the coffee was surprisingly good as well. I was satisfied with the meal size although someone with a bigger appetite may feel different. I was there around 9am and I received my meal fairly quickly after ordering.
I ordered eggs on toast with tomatoes, with a side of bacon. So basically bacon and eggs. I think the deal is that you can do eggs on toast as the minimum, then go vegetarian with a side of mushrooms or go the other way with bacon. I liked that they gave you tubs of butter so you could choose whether to have your toast buttered or not.
If I lived closer I would definitely go again.
The meals came out seriously fast! Every coffee is served with a delightful little chocolate freckle! As the drinks were being brought out she even asked if I wanted a glass of ice! The service was wonderful.
We found the meals too big for our eyes & were both unable to finish them! Certainly making them a great meal for the cost! I barely got halfway through my steak sandwich when I was done, & they politely came over & offered to put it in a take away box for me! So lovely!
This was the first time I had eaten a meal here for myself. I had shared a meal in a group - which got very noisy (but I think that was more the group than the venue), & been there for a few drinks & chat with a friend when they first opened up & were selling their wooden furniture. This place really is so welcoming!
The food is divine, the atmosphere is great,the staff are bright friendly and helpful and you can eat indoors or outside... there is nothing better than going fishing down the river watching the sun rise then grabbing take away brekky rolls and coffee then going back down River... awesome way to start your day...

I have been coming here for years so thought I'd finally give a review.
Let's start with the coffee. Its fantastic, better then most of the coffee you find in Brisbane CBD. The house blend is such a high quality it doesn't matter which way you have it the results are always delicious. They cycle through various single origin blends that always have interesting flavours that are worth trying. I enjoy buying their 1kg bags of beans to take home as their quality for price is very good and beans fresh.
The food here amazing, I have had everything off the old menu and most of the new one. Our favorites are the smashed avacoda, waffles and tropical feels acai bowl. The window full of goodies is always a win as well, often take home some cheesecake for dessert.
Finally the customer service here is amazing. Even though it can get really busy everyone is always so friendly and warm. You can tell the owners have made a great environment to work in as the crew are always working together and having a good time doing so. In all my visits I have had nothing less then an excellent experience each time.
I am always excited when I hear the words "lets go to wheelhouse for breakfast".
Staff very friendly and make you very welcome.
