Great suburban dining option. Loved the food we had. Bruschetta was so delicious and pasta for our mains were cooked beautifully.
We did have dessert but it was only okay. Next time we will stick to the pasta!

Pappagallo is a bustling Italian restaurant that occupies a corner position at the junction of Oxford Street and Bourke Street. It’s about halfway along Oxford Street and away from the main Leederville strip. I first discovered this place a few months back when I was looking for traditional Italian pizza – not hawaiian, not chicken tikka, just beautiful simple unadulterated Italian pizza. Pappagallo really delivered on the pizza with the last mouthful being as perfectly tasty as the first, and we have visited regularly for our pizza fix.

It's worth coming to Pappagallo's just to try their amazing pizza. Hands down one the most authentic & tasty Italian pizzas in Perth. Have dined here many times and the food generally does not disappoint - risotto's, pasta, calamari fritti and grilled fish have all been consistently good. For dessert you can't go past the ricotta donuts or the tiramisu (very rich but delicious) and the Sicilian cannoli with ricotta cream. If you’re looking for a quick spot of lunch, try their delicious paninis with their fresh in-house baked pizza bread. There's a reason why this place is always packed and it can be quite hard to get a booking especially on a Saturday night. Good food, good service and overall good vibe.
Loved the food here. It brought me back to my time in Italy where food was cooked with love, tasted divine and simply authentic! Only complaint I had was it is always busy and patrons may often feel rushed to get their meals over with. Other than that it was perfection!!
Came here for a birthday dinner and really enjoyed the food here. Pasta portion was slightly small but food taste great.
This place knows good Italian! we had the slow cooked beef ravioli in a cream sauce and the Parma pizza! the food was beautiful ! we shared both and although the ravioli was on the smaller potrion size, it made up for it in taste !! the Pizza was also great, very fresh and a very generous size ! The staff were attentive and it was also child friendly! Definitely worth a visit !

We went in a large room and luckily we booked as the place was full on a weeknight. Greeted by a lovely Italian waiter who was passionate about the food (just the right amount and not too over the top). Got the divolo pizza and polenta chips to share. The pizza base was amazing.. airy yet crispy... one of the best I’ve had. The toppings were also very generous. I personally didn’t like the polenta chips as I could not taste any polenta filling. The others loved it as it was super duper crispy fries. The seafood pasta was delicious and a huge serving. There was a good variety of seafood (prawns, fish, octopus, mussels and clams). Only let down was some bits were slightly overcooked. Tried hubby’s ravioli of the day. Pasta was silky smooth.. you can tell it was freshly made.
Tiramisu was nice although would have liked a bit more cream. Actual coffee flavour was strong which I like.
Overall really enjoyed the meals and great service. They even gave us some free ricotta donuts to go when we left!
We visited Pappagallo's for dinner with 3 adults and 2 children (ages 3 and 4). When we arrived we felt the warm and welcoming atmosphere and we knew it must be good as the restaurant was filled with lots of people.
The service was quick and friendly with the attentive waiter's, especially Nino the owner.
We ordered pizza, fish of the day and chicken. The wood oven pizza was delicious, the base was thin and the toppings generous. I tried the parma (persuittto) and capriossa pizza and definitely worth ordering. The other adults who had the chicken and fish said the food was mouthwatering.
If you are after traditional, high quality Italian food this is the restuarant that is a must. You will leave satisfied.

Amazing food! Had the mussels and shared them as a starter. Was a massive portion for an entree. The sauce they were in was delicious - we ordered more bread just to keep mopping it up.
The pizzas are beautiful. Made in the proper Italian way, focusing on a good quality base and tomato sauce.
Hope to come back if I’m in Perth again.
So good. Can't believe we waited so long to visit. The staff are so friendly here and super helpful. We had the mussels, just a small one but definitely regretted it as we should've gotten a giant one! The mussels were cooked perfectly and the sauce was amazing. The pizza is absolutely fantastic. They use mixed grains and the flavour comes through with every bite. It's such a gorgeous fragrant flavour that doesn't get overpowered by the pizza toppings. Can't wait to return, such good eats!
Nice atmosphere with friendly staff and great food! I can understand why this place is booked out for weeks in advance. Pictured was their special of the night which was ravioli in capsicum sauce which was amazing 👌 I can't remember which pizza we were there about a month ago 😅 Tiramisu was a huge serving, enough for 2 people to share and a cream Cannoli 😋🤤 Definitely recommend this place!
Was looking for a good pizza place and found this restaurant, which was fully booked, understandably. We had the Pappagallo pizza and calamaris to go and they tasted fabulous, even for a takeaway meal. Will definitely book in advance in future for a sense of the atmosphere in the restaurant (:
Good food and prices are reasonable. Ambience is like any relaxing Italian restaurants. Friendly wait staff.
Only problem - parking is hard to find unless you are lucky to find one close to restaurant.
Been meaning to try this place our for a while. Finally managed to get a booking mid week. The calamari was nicely fried, the ravioli special was tasty but I found the Piccante pizza a tad salty. Flavours were still good though. And the salad was delicious. I will definitely come again to try the other dishes.
Nice setting and location. Have a good dinner here. Good staff. I loved my pizza. My Edison cocktail had a very cool look.
Had a quick lunch. Service was quick and friendly. Food was great. Pappardelle Al Ragu was delicious. The papardelle was just beautifully made. The meat was soft and moist. They have pulled meat consistency in ragu sauce. Top with plenty of grated parmesan cheese. The winner is their grilled lamb cutlets with caponata. It is cooked in flame grill, you can taste the charred flavour in the lamb.
If you want a light lunch, go for their sandwiches. We had panuozzo bologna. It was light and just a beautiful sandwich all around. Their bread tasted fresh and its their light pizza dough.
Came here for a quick dinner last night with no booking. The waiter was able to accommodate us easily and was friendly too. We had garlic bread and got a couple of pizzas, everything delicious. I got burrata and my friend got capricciosa, we also had a couple of beers and everything was under $80. Will be back to this place, great atmosphere with Italians running the shop and great service.
