Review Little Sicily Pizza - Leichhardt

Had dinner last night at this wonderful Italian restaurant. The waiters (brunette lady and guy) were both super friendly and warm. The food was especially delicious too! Definitely recommend their zucchini flowers, bugs and scallop pasta and their little sicily pizza. They were so kind enough for us to have our cake for a friend's birthday there as well :) will definitely come back to try more!!

Pizza was undercooked in the centre. The dough in the middle was sloppy causing all the toppings to fall off. I can make better pasta at home. Overpriced and I'd probably shop around for better Italian joints if you're after pizza as the Neapolitan style is a dime a dozen these days.

The owners were fantastic as they accommodated us even though we didn't make any reservations. The food were served fast and were very tasty. We enjoyed the dinner.

This is the best Italian restaurant I have been to in Sydney and, outside of Italy, one of the best I have ever been too anywhere. Really brilliant pasta. We had the stuffed courgette flowers followed by the crab linguinie. Both absolutely excellent. Plus fast, pleasant service in a lively environment. We will definitely be going back.

Perfect Great food , empty plate on end is best compliment. Highly recommend

Great food, good service but staff constantly hung around the table and took plates away early and without asking if you were finished they watch you making you feel like you needed to hurry up so they could clean the table even though you are booked for last sitting.

Lovely little restaurant with good food. Unfortunately, it's just a tad expensive so we rarely get to visit. Service is pretty good. Shame Ciccio's not around anymore

I’m editing my previous review because frankly dining in here gives you a different experience. We visited 2 weeks ago on a Friday and had pasta, pizza, garlic bread and rocket Parmesan salad. Amazing!!!! For a little place, the price you pay, the taste of the food... can’t begrudge it.

Very nice place, love the seafood spaghetti so much! So tasty, best ever. The pizza is 194, very worth the money, a lot of fresh cooked prawns. Highly recommended for gathering.

My friend and I came here purely for a dessert hit. We were greeted by a very welcome waiter which set the experience off well. For dessert we ended up going with the Tiramisu and cheesecake, both homemade. Wow. The tiramisu was to die for and the cheesecake was so indulgent. The staff were all friendly and it really had a family vibe. Our waiter gave us a shot of Limoncello, what a great way to top it off!

Nice Italian restaurant in Leichardt that serve traditional and modern dishes with that authentic taste. Salmon carpaccio and tuna sashimi are great entrees. For the pasta i really enjoyed the spaghetti Gamberi and the mushroom risotto. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Great space for family gatherings or friend catch ups.

Sunday Night. I am surprised to read all the negative reviews. We were there last night for dinner and enjoyed the service , the food and the ambience. the white bait fritters entree was excellent- although a tangy mayonnaise on the side would have been nice, they remembered my husband had pre-ordered the suckling pig. It was served with a side of peas and potato cubes in cream sauce and the peas tasted so fresh that it was hard to believe they were frozen peas. They even packed an extra serving of peas in the doggy bag. We had the nutella tiramisu and the fruit pannacotta for dessert and both were good sized servings ("like mamma used to dish out") and a beautiful way to finish off a great meal.

‘Little Sicily’ has always been on our radar because our Nonna and Aunt live within 5 minutes of the restaurant so we constantly pass it, we would always make a point to say to each other whenever we drove by “We should really go there
it’s been there forever”. So the memory kicked into gear and we made our way to Little Sicily at 8pm on a Friday evening, we were kind of expecting a lull in service, maybe a half full restaurant, we were met with a bustling almost chaotic scene. Initially as they searched for a table to sit us, we discussed a plan B in-case tonight wasn’t our night, as luck would have it, there was one table left, which we snapped up.

Mama Mia - what a mess!. This joint is overpriced and under delivers. My partner and I went here for a new year's catch up with parents. It was the second time I had dined in the place. I had made a reservation using the number on their website which diverted to a mobile (with a generic greeting). I left a message to make a reservation and got a call back from a women who just said she had a missed call and what did I want. Upon arriving at the restaurant, there was nobody stationed on the door greeting customers, i saw my parents had already been seated so we just went and joined them. We had decided to BYO and had one bottle put in the fridge and one bottle opened, the i.e. bucket for which was put on the directly on the floor. We asked for water - which we were given a jug of, but had to ask another two times for glasses. The waitress gave us menu's and said she would be back to give us the specials. After waiting a fair while she returned to take our order, we asked if we could please hear the specials first. She rattled them off and then stood at the table and said it was very busy and she needed our order now. We ordered a Pizza to share for starters and then 3 of us ordered pasta and 1 an entree dish for the main course along with a salad and garlic bread. The pizza was very good and arrived quickly. Pizza was cleared and the mains were served almost instantly - before the cutlery was actually replaced. The table wasn't big enough to hold the 4 dishes along with the salad, garlic bread and side plates. I was left holding the water jug whilst they plonked the food on the table and then told I could just leave it on the bar (which would involve me getting out of my seat to do so and defeated the purpose of paying for service at a restaurant). We had to ask for parmesan cheese and fresh cracked pepper. Getting the second bottle of wine from the fridge took 2 attempts also. The pasta I had (Gnocchi al Ragu - $21.50) looked very unappetising, it did not have a rich tomato flavour to it and was under seasoned. The total bill for the meal came to $200 for the four of us - for very average food and non existent service this was just way too much. The pasta's should have been $10 a plate. If you haven't tried this place don't waste your money. Their is plenty of other Italian around the area to sink your teeth into!

Don't eat there. I went there last night Tuesday the restaurant was full of screaming kids. Our host was some fat overt aned lady who dictated what we should eat and drink.

Every dish is almost swimming with cream. Vegetables with mains are just peas and potatoes. The potatoes tasted old as if they were cooked weeks ago and just re heated in a frying pan with butter if they even use that.
I would never eat there again. There are better restaurants in Leichhardt but not Little Sicily

Ne voglio ancora. It's good to see someone is flying the flag for quality dining in Leichhardt after the overall mediocrity on Norton Street played a large role in killing off the vibe on the suburb's main drag.

Little Sicily is down the further end of Marion Street, pretty much on its own as the shops peter out. I have found the food excellent from the a la carte menu and last night was introduced to a sneak preview of changes to the pizza menu.

The pizzas were cooked in a state-of-the-art oven by Nicola Salvatore, the president of Accademia Pizzaioli Chef Italiani, from the Abruzzo region of central Italy. Nicola is on a short promotional visit to Australia and brought his passion for Italian pizza to the heart of Leichhardt for one night.

The pizza base was prepared with a flour blend containing nine grains, imported from Italy and given its first try-out at Little Siclly. This produced a crisp, medium density base which we sampled with a variety of toppings - including a sensational truffle paste, porcini and mozarella; hot salami; Italian sausage; and a Magherita-style pizza with a most delicious tomato topping. A desert pizza presented creme patisserie with passionfruit, raspberry and fresh fruit. Delicious!

The not-so-secret approach is top quality ingredients judiciously applied. The table agreed that, although we had eaten our full, we didn't feel full or have the bloated feeling that follows some pizza experiences.

I understand these pizza will be on the Little Sicily menu very soon. So, pizza lovers, this is highly recommended for you.

Overpriced, tiny portions and HORRENDOUS service. Overpriced, tiny portions and terrible service. Server pretty much threw our menus on the table and walked away. I ordered gnocchi with beef ragu - I could literally count the morsels of food on my plate. Can't remember what my friend ordered but it obviously was nothing to write home about. After our meals came I politely asked for some Parmesan, the server acted like it was a huge inconvenience and sprinkled about 3 grains of cheese on my plate and walked away. Needless to say I won't be going back.

Sooooooo good!. With so many options for food these days, I chose to go back to Little Sicily for a family birthday dinner last night. Well after reading some of the other reviews I was pretty sure it would be a good as always but the proof was in the "eating".

Patty (the apparently rude owner!!) was simply delightful and completely helpful with all of our needs and wants. I think the reviewer that thought she was rude must be devoid of any sense of the word!

The food was fantastic and I must add of very generous proportions too, which is unusual these days. The chef also came out of the kitchen to ensure everything was good, which I thought was a very nice touch.

Another very enjoyable night, thank you Little Sicily.

Rude.. Very hit and miss! If you eat in the larger woman (who is the owner) is extremely rude, and will rush you out as quick as she can. If it's take away your are after it's 50/50 depending on how busy they are will determine how good of quality the take away is.
Can be amazing, can be absolute dog ####.

We came here on a Sunday night for a meal.

Good thing at the beginning was the parking which is good as they have a big car park nearby (not always easy to park in this area).

The wine was nice and good value (tenura rapitala) for a bottle at approx $25.

Quality of the food was very good and the seafood fresh and all for a reasonable price.

Service was efficient. Only criticism is the dessert menu where there wasn't much selection at 8.15pm..... Will be back.

On a cold and rainy night my friend and I went to little Sicily. There was a great ambience and warmth that you tend to get when you go to an Italian restaurant. We were seated outside however it was not much of an issue due to there being a heater and we were seated under shelter. Being brought up around Italian food because of my heritage I had high hopes that this was going to be a "real" Italian restaurant. Hearing people speak Italian and seeing the liveliness of the restaurant it started to seem like we made the right choice. I saw the chef smoking in the kitchen which slightly put me off however I really couldn't care because the food ended up being great. I ordere spaghetti with scampi and my friend ordered linguini with crab. We both immensely enjoyed our meals and there was not much said as we were rapidly chomping them down. If it would be anything the restaurant could improve on maybe the bread could've been warmed. Overall great dining experience and I'm not the only one who thinks so. Apparently chef superstar tetsuya had been there not too long before I did.

Good Italian food in it's price range. This restaurant deliverers most dishes at quality and well priced.
Pizza excellent with thin sicilian base. Very family friendly.
Seafood very fresh and handled well. Suckling pig moorish but filling.
Quite frankly I don't order steak at most Italian restaurant's I go to. Rare for Italians is a government
lasting more than 1 year.
Staff are welcoming and service good, but don't expect 3 hat because this place has a different vibe.

Couldn't be happier!. I had read some bad reviews, so I almost didn't go here. I'm so glad I did!
The food was fantastic, there were 4 of us and everyone was extremely happy with their meals which came out in good time, the staff were friendly and courteous and the restaurant was busy, but not too loud and the staff coped wonderfully! Do yourself a favour and try it out!

Excellent. Ciccio is the best chef in Australia. I love his cooking from La Rustica to this place. He sure knows his stuff.

Rude, Rude, Rude!!!. Went there last nite with mates - the Nanata, Calamari & Garlic Prawn entrees were good (1st 2 were excellent; 1 of the 2 Garlic Prawn dishes was smaller & drier [i.e., the prawns were] than the other which was odd); for mains we had John Dory (excellent), Chicken (also good), Seafood mix in rich tomato (good) & Rack of Lamb (extremely poor - the rack was over-cooked to blazes, very fatty & dried out in places - only 1 of the 5 cutlets was edible). Then the rot set in...

Our hostess whisked our mains plates away as soon as it seemed we had finished - not a word was said about the 4 uneaten lamb cutlets on 1 plate nor were we even asked if we enjoyed our meal. Shortly thereafter our hostess brought a jug of water to our table, carrying it by inserting her fingers inside the jug around & over the pouring spout - how many OH&S rules did she break doing that? Hasn't she heard of using the handle? This was almost offensive but was shortly topped off by her appearing back at our table (after we had paid the bill leaving zero tip) & whisking away 2 of our wine glasses while the rest of us were still drinking - she didn't bother to ask if the people whose glasses she took were still drinking or not.

Impressed we were not & won't be going back.

We have been following Ciccio, the chef of Little Sicily, for years. He offers good, clean traditional Italian food cooked well. Pastas are al dente and the steak, fish and suckling pig (if you're lucky enough for it to be on the specials) are tasty and uncomplicated. The pizzas are also good - try the nutella pizza for dessert. Good quality, great value, hard to beat.
