Mezzapica is an Italian cafe in Leichhardt that is cute and cosy and serves a range of brunch and lunch dishes. They also have a great range of cakes and specials on the board. We came here for brunch one weekend, keen to try it out. To start, we ordered the Nutella shake and freshly squeezed juice. The shake was very decadent and rich while the juice was a nice blend of beetroot, carrot, orange and ginger and made fresh on the spot.
Great little cafe serving hearty italian fare. Everything was well made and we tried the weekly special Seafood risotto, Spice roasted quinoa salad with the works. Standout was the Hot Pot baked eggs - loved the crusty parmesan cheese layer but eggs and tomato base could do with a tad longer in the oven. Service was great and we finished off the meal on a sweet note with the Mango passionfruit cheesecake, Nougat slice, Snickers mousse cake, Chocolate baklava. There's the Mezzapica Cake Studio right next door so everything is professional quality and so daintily made!
I went with the smash avocado bruschetta and the vegetarian breakfast. Friendly staff, great location and great coffee . Would definitely come back.
Mezzapica Cafe is a little corner cafe located on Norton St in Leichhardt. For a Tuesday morning, it was surprisingly busy. Street parking was really easy to find but make sure you get a ticket, there were rangers everywhere!
We ordered The Italian P&E roll, Norton’s Hot Pot and Smashed Avocado Bruschetta.
The Italian P&E Roll; it was kind of like an egg burger. Sort of a lighter version of a bacon and egg roll that’s filled with chive scrambled eggs, prosciutto & provolone cheese with hollandaise sauce. It was pretty unique and was something I’ve never had before.
Next, you can’t go wrong with Smashed Avocado Bruschetta. It was filled with cherry tomatoes & danish feta topped with balsamic glazed on sour dough.
My favourite dish that morning was the Norton’s Italian Hot Pot.
I saw on the menu that it had chorizo and of course, I had to order it. And I’m so glad I did because this dish is a MUST TRY in my opinion. Filled with baked eggs, chorizo & mushroom in a napoletana sauce, but what made it taste so amazing was that it was topped with parmesan crust! YUP it tasted as good as it sounds and the flavours were just spot on; not too much flavour that you easily get sick of or so much that you need a glass of water next to you.
Can’t wait to come back with the husband and kids.
Came as a guest. How interesting to see the Norton's Italian Hot Pot,it's another version of Shakshuka. Has big pieces of mushroom and chorizo,I like it! My missus had the chicken salad. I was most impressed with the bounty shake,it was literally a bounty in shake form, yum! A easy way to find this place,it's opposite chemist warehouse
Mezzapica is a cafe that is a family owned business, located on the famous Norton St, Leichardt with plenty of outdoor seating. This cafe comes to us as sister to The Tiny Giant, Leichardt Espresso and Rozelle Espresso. It is an italian cafe with all day breakfast is available. For those with a sweet tooth, there’s plenty of bakery goods, gelato & cakes. Grab a menu and order from the counter and the food will be delivered to you.
Stopped by this cafe on Norton Street for an early beverage and snack. Have a squiz at the menu, order and pay at the bar and take a seat and they'll bring the food out to you. There is indoor and outdoor seating. There were your standard choices for breakfast but only wanted something light and got Banana Bread and a Mocha. They offered to serve butter on the side which was nice. Coffee is by Toby's Estate. It was your standard offering and was nice enough.
They don't have almond milk, so if you enjoy almond milk latte, flat white, don't go~ but other things are okay.
Inside is small and noisy, if u want to chat, not a good place.
I got a mocha and calarmi, chips with salad. The food didn't take long to arrive. Food tasted as good as it looked. The staff were friendly. Will come back

This cafe, affiliated with the famous cake studio & cake shop / bakery has all the usual offerings but its the sweets that really stand out for me. From delicious crunchy cannoli filled with ricotta (my fave), custard or chocolate custard, to so many variations of donuts stuffed with custard or ricotta, to the large variety of biscuits, you can't really go wrong. Just don't forget to buy some to take away with you.
Andre & team, thank you so much for delivering such a beautiful cake for my dads birthday. It looked fantastic and tasted amazing. It was exactly as ordered and was delivered with no fuss.
We ordered the Continental Cake and a Bon Vivant cake for a birthday. Both cakes were absolutely delicious, in particular the continental was fresh, light and very popular with all the guests, even the fussy ones! They delivered to the venue and both looked great. Would definitely order from Mezzapica again, thank you.
I apologise to the owners of Mezzapica Cakes for leaving a very unfavourable review yesterday!
It was actually intended for the cafe next door, which shares the same name, somewhat sadly, as the cake shop is fabulous and makes my favourite cannolis and ice cream cakes.
The aforementioned cafe couldn’t be more of a polar opposite…but I won’t go into that here.
Sorry again to the good folks at Mezzapica Cakes.
We always buy celebration cakes and pastries. They never disappoint. Great quality, amazing flavor without being too sweet.
