Came here for brunch with my husband over the weekend. The staff were super friendly, and the cafe has a very inviting atmosphere. I enjoyed the vegan breakfast, which was a very large portion size, it had lots of variety and all of the elements had lots of different flavours. Could tell that all of the ingredients were super fresh. My husband had the brisket with poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. Which he wouldn’t stop commenting on how good it was. Coffees were great too, we will definitely be back again.

i tried the eggs benedict with gluten free bread and salmon! soooo delicious, i loved the freshness of the salmon and the bread was yum!

This was absolutely lovely!
Such warmth as you walk in and the colour palette of greens and whites look stunning as you walk on through.
Tough choice in terms of eating, everything looked great, but settled which eggs benny and the Canadian omelette which went down a treat - the omelette was a little out of left field for me as I’m normally a baked egg/smashed avo or fritters kind of girl, but I’m glad I got it!
The perfect amount of bacon and cheese which made for a hearty and substantial brekky.
The staff were friendly and attentive which also made for a pleasant experience. Would definitely return!

Outstanding! I had a blackboard special which was a pork and hazelnut terrine with grilled carrot (never had carrot done that way before), marinated blackcurrants and a rocket salad. Absolutely amazing. Excellent coffee in an unusually large mug too.
We paid a visit to this cafe on Saturday lunch.

We had the Mexican Roti , the Canadian omelette, coffee and tea, and I couldn’t help to order a raspberry slice . It’s said it’s raw , vegan, gluten free , well since it’s healthy and pretty I NEED to have a try ! It’s delicious and probably the best raw/ vegan slice that I’ve ever tasted. Love my Mexican Roti, fresh and hot and flavourful . ( surprisingly not spicy at all ! ) My husband says the coffee was definitely a 4.5/ 5 !

I had an incredible experience here over the weekend with 3 friends.
The cafes exterior & interior is so cute. I loved the white picket fence, the green/blue/white colour scheme that flowed into the restaurant with the array of green plants hanging around the ceiling. The space felt so warm and welcoming.
The food, coffee & smoothies were delicious!
Flat white with almond milk: such a nice coffee, creamy & not too bitter
Hot chocolate: ordered by my friend
Date & cacao & peanut butter smoothie: this smoothie was a winner! It had an awesome peanut butter flavour & I enjoyed chewing on the cacao pieces that were on top, as I drank the smoothie
Green smoothie: super refreshing!
Corn fritters: I loved this dish. The corn fritters were crunchy on the outside & had a good texture on the inside that wasn’t mushy. The tomato relish on top was so good, it added a great sweetness to an otherwise savoury dish. Great balance of flavours.
French toast: wow, this was a thick piece of French toast! I wish there was more of the strawberry coulis to go with the bread. The mascarpone added a nice creaminess to the sweetness of the toast.
Waffles: the waffles were soft & sweet, exactly what you’d want! I got a generous amount of Nutella in the bite I had off my friends dish which I loved
Baked eggs: such a well balanced dish. Great tomato flavour in the tomato base. The eggs still had a nice & runny yolk
The staff were beyond friendly & welcoming! The food came out in good time & all together
Pet friendly, great outdoor setting and fully enclosed. Friendly service and good coffee too!
Staffs did meal check to see if everything is okay, and also did another one when paying!
Would definitely go back next time where down there! Keep up the great work guys! 👍

How cool is this place!? I travelled a little bit to get here but it was SO worth it.
The colour scheme and décor is GOALS. The place is so bright and happy. The team is so friendly!
I was also impressed with the amount of vegan options on the menu.
We tried:
Almond latte / Long black - tasty coffee!
Datin' Elivis choc protein smoothie - Yum yum yum
Green Goddess Smoothie - Healthy and fresh
Winter Porridge - so gorgeous, and delish with a poached pear. Cooked to perfection in my opinion!
Mouthful of Fritters - I was SO happy to find vegan fritters, and these ones did not disappoint! My favourite dish of the day!
Mac and Veg - vegan mac and cheese dish - so delish and creamy!!
We also tried some raw vegan desserts, including a PB cup and Passion Mango Slice - just melt in your mouth delightful!!
I would definitely recommend making the trip to the Lilydale General, you will love it! I am keen to go back and try some of their other vegan options!
The Lilydale general! used to love this place few years back then was sold to a new owner! who just killed it! I've since been back after I Hurd from a little birdie that there is a new owner and honestly could not be more happier that its getting back up again! The new owner has really worked hard to get it back to the amazing cafe it was! I worked here as a chef and saw everything! from what I can see the place is honestly picking back up! coffee is amazing as always! (thanks Maddie) The food was amazing licked my plate clean! keep the good work up guys! its amazing to see the love going back into that place!
What a hidden little gem this place is. The service was a bit on the slow side, but when they did attend to us they were really lovely.
I follow a Keto lifestyle now so I’m a bit of a ‘pain in the bum’ when it comes to ordering my coffee. I will only order one if they have heavy cream. I ask for a tall glass of ice, the coffee shot poured over and topped up with cold water and cream. Well, I will shout it from the rooftops that this is THE BEST coffee I have ever had. And I do not say that lightly. The floured was so smooth and well-balanced every sip was divine.
The food was amazing as well. We both had a chicken Caesar salad and it was prepared to perfection: crisp lettuce, tender chicken and a beautiful dressing. I would definitely return to this cafe.
Had a family lunch, I tried the Ruben with chip, also had a poached chicken and avocado sandwich, both were great!
Daughter had a Calamari salad, could have been better! Very little Calamari, average for the price!
Will go back though! Very nice venue!
Excellent food. Wonderful vegan options. Can be a bit loud when at full capacity. Jack fruit tacos are a winner!
First time eating here, staff are amazing, and very attentive. We ordered the big brekky to share and was not disappointed, the pretty in pink smoothie was super. I left full and happy

Spinach was perfectly cooked (usually most cafe overcooked).
Egg was perfectly poached. Bacon wasn't too salty. Coffee was great (didn't taste the burnt from roasting too long)

We had an awesome time at the Lilydale General!! The place was nice and big and we got a good seat. The menu had lots of food and plenty of breakie items we wanted.
When we ordered the food, we chose, they must of forgot the order. We waited 30 minutes but not a single item came so we had to tell them again! Luckily the gave us a free, excellent dessert. A marvellous cheesecake!!
We took the fritters which we always take (Brilliant!!) The berry French Toast (Fantastic!) French Toast was nice, but very heavy. The crisp cinnamon crumble, the raspberry coulis and white chocolate mouse were awesome and mint had nice effect. The berries were a refreshing treat. Finally we had a Nourish bowl. It was a great, healthy item.
Overall we had a magnificent brunch!
I popped into this store for a coffee before a funeral l was attending. I ordered a mocha coffee and it was great. The service was excellent, the customer service was with a smile and the toilets were clean. Highly recommended.
