Came for truffle but missed out as they only it served in winter. Got lobster benedict instead, definitely didn't disappont! Staff were very friendly and attentive too
From the food to the service, this hidden gem was an amazing experience. Parking is plentiful and a short stroll from the train station, it's easily accessible.
Granted, the truffle menu is seasonal so the Cheesy Lobster with Chips might not be there for much longer but if you manage to get there in time, it is a decadent must splurge just for the rich butter burst with each bite of lobster followed by the creamy cheese truffle sauce that perfectly accompanies each bite. The chips add that crunchy contrast in texture that makes for a well rounded dish. The Fried Chicken Burger is fortunately not on the truffle menu and can be revisited multiple times. If you like a hint of sweetness thanks to the bun and maple aioli then you'll love this burger. The buttermilk chicken is so juicy and tender leading to a burst of flavour with every bite. To top it all off, the service was exceptional. We even had a quick description of one of the cakes we were staring at while waiting for the food to arrive (which pretty much sold us on it). Rich, decadent and a definite must try at least once.
Truffle Fried Chicken Hotcake : đ Amazing
Chicken Burger : đ Amazing
Bircher : đ Amazing
Coffee : đ Amazing
Loooved this place so much! There was nothing I did not love. The service was exceptional and the wait time for food wasnât long despite how busy the cafe was. The Truffle Fried Chicken Hotcake was definitely different yet interesting. The truffle game was strong and the chicken was super crispy and juicy. The burger was hands down my favourite. The carby, crispy, flavourful goodness had me dancing. The Bircher was also really really good! It was refreshing and sweet. Pairing all of these with a strong, hot cup of coffee just absolutely made my day. Canât wait to go back again!
This cafe is honestly gooooddd! First off service is super friendly and attentive. The burgers are a must.. any and all the burgers...and so is the Bircher muesli! Chicken burger has succulent meat and bacon with the perfect milk bun. The Bircher muesli had so much texture and was full of fruit yet wasnât overly sweet. Coffee is also really good and the barista sure knows how to make a cappuccino. Overall I will me back for sure.
I ventured to Goodfields Eatery to get my very first truffle fix of the 2020 season. The entire menu looks great, but I love truffle with cheese so I picked the triple cheese and ham Jaffle made with croissant loaf, served on truffle cheese sauce, topped with fresh truffle. The cheeses were provolone, truffle pecorino and mozzarella and the truffles were grown in Canberra.
It was an amazing cheese toastie, but despite the appearance of lots of truffle, I found the truffle flavour a bit weak. I noticed I wasnât smacked in the face with lots of truffle aroma as the plate arrived at the table and trying the shredded fresh truffle by itself sadly revealed very little flavour. Most of the truffle flavour came from the cheese sauce. Overall I enjoyed the dish as it was an amazingly good cheese toastie, but it needed a stronger truffle flavour for me.
Came for a late lunch around 3pm on Saturday and it was still very busy. The truffle jaffle was delicious and faultless. The cheesy chips with lobster was nice but lobster bites were overcooked as it was small chunks and gets overcooked easily. I think cooking and serving the lobster in its tails might be better as it shows the amount of lobster on the plate.
This delightful cafe is located on Lindfield Avenue. My friends and I were interested on what was offer on their temporary menu. They also had a Truffle Menu. Coffee is by Five Senses. Service here is excellent even with more restrictive conditions of dining in.
We shared a few dishes amongst us so we wouldnât get fomo. We had the Lobster Benedict and Avocado from the temporary all day menu. We chose the Fried Chicken Hotcake from The Truffle Menu. The benedict has a tasty piece of lobster tail with perfectly poached eggs topped with hollandaise and peas on top of granary loaf. Avocado consisted of smashed avocado spread on sourdough with tomatoes and feta. Served with poached eggs too. Lovely lighter dish. The decadent hotcake had a wonderful piece of crunchy buttermilk fried chicken on top with truffle whipped butter and maple syrup. Served with pieces of fresh truffle too. I loved this dish the most.
We finished off with a Truffle Ice-Cream Brownie Sandwich. It was 2 Butterbing Brownies with truffle ice cream sandwiches in between. Very tasty dessert.
The Mocha I had was a lovely blend.
Really great cafe and could see why they were so busy.
This place is worth to visit even though you might experience long wait for Sunday brunch.
They have special truffle menu at the moment separate from alacarte menu
Start my day with piccolo, as usual.
My Piccolo was taste ok, however I feel the foam on top of my piccolo is way too thick!
From truffle menu:
Beef Ragu, what not to like of 8 hours slow cook braised beef cheek, red wine, and all the trimmings, especially on cold winter day?
Served with broccolini, cavatelli pasta, truffle pecorino cheese, all the goodness from wild mushrooms and fresh slice truffle. A crowd pleaser dish!
Arancini, (served 3)
Served with truffle labneh, fried egg, hazelnut salad and fresh truffle.
In my opinion the risotto balls itself need more cheese and seasoning, this I told the owner since he came to ask feedback / opinion about the food.
From regular menu:
Fried chicken Benedict,
Who doesnât like finger licking fried chicken? đ the only concern that crumpet on the base was a little stale,
Hot cake was a perfect dessert to finish good meal.
Mixture was light and fluffy, and those passion fruit sauce was amazing! Not too sour, and not too sweet!
Perfect!
Service was prompt and food was great. Polished my plate off and felt that portions were just right. Had a difficult time choosing from the menu as everything sounded delicious! The place was buzzing and there is usually a queue out the door on weekends. Thought that coffee could be improved as it tasted slightly burnt.
In any case, Iâd still be back to try other dishes. Definitely a local gem to check out. Ample parking round the corner too.
Goodfields
Such a nice and spacious cafe outside Lindfield station. In order to go to work on time I got up at 6:00 and arrive there on 7:50 (NSW transport sucks, sorry for that but I cannot help, have to arrange extra time everyday in case of shit happen)
đ€Lobster-King of the breakfast
It is such an extraordinary experience to have lobster in the morning. Though it is the most expensive breakie ($29) I have ever had, it really worths the money. From top to bottom I will explain the signature dish for you.
First layer- leaf salad, I assume it is pea sprout, fresh and sweet, make the whole dish light up a little bit
Second layer - hollandaise, wonderful, it goes very well with the lobster and also the poached eggs, but I prefer it to be sourer.
Third layer- two poached eggs, very tender the yolk came out to the loaf and lobster meat, best match, feel satisfied by the wonderful combination.
There comes the best part-lobster tail, very buttery, tender and chewy at the same time, very controversial right? I just wanna say it is just right! And I would say the portion is quite big indeed, I even donât wanna have lunch!
Bottom-granary loaf, so different, if it is just toast, then it will spoil the egg yolk and the hollandaise, since it is thick and can soak up just enough juice, making the loaf very flavoursome, I finish it all!
But but but the icing on the cake is the crushed pea, OMG so yummy and fresh and sweet of the crushed pea. I never realized they were so amazing! !!
They moved out the meat and set the shell aside as decoration, making the dish very instagram friendly!
I ordered flat white, they use dark horse blend, the chocolate flavor is quite impressive. I enjoyed this morning very much! By the way, the service is very attentive, staff here are very friendly. They recommend me to try the risotto for lunch next time.
