Pizza was amazing and the desserts were incredible. Definitely worth the money and will be going back again. Service from staff was fantastic. No complaints.
Excellent woodfired pizza. Had a fantastic gourmet pizza and the service was great.
Best Pizza. Pumpkin Pizza and Thai Chicken Pizza are mouth wateringly good. I've yet to come across a better pizza.

What a wonderful dining experience in Lismore. We came for a family birthday and while the exterior is tired - it really is inside (the dragon belly) were magic is. Loved the Red Dragon Inn Ginger Beer and Gera Gourmet pizza. The general consensus of our family table of 8 the Mediterranean lamb was best. I fully recommend. The meringue is quite sublime
Fire in the Belly - Lismore, New South Wales. As a recipient of numerous awards since its opening in 2004, Fire in the Belly - located in Lismore - is a warm and straightforward restaurant ideal for groups, especially ones with kids. I went here on a Saturday night with a group (sans kids) and had a great time. It is recommended.
The major aspect of the decor is the oven - which is shaped like a dragon thus giving the restaurant its name. For the rest of the inside, there is not that much to distinguish it; although the atmosphere is relaxing and gives off a different vibe to what is outside. It is spacious and comfortable even if the walls are a bit weird with being brightly multi-coloured.
Much like many eateries around the Northern Rivers area, the waitstaff are genuine and friendly. They did their job effectively, brought the food out in well-timed succession and were all up efficient.
For starters, we ordered two lots of pannisses; they were connoctions of chickpea flour, parmesan cheese and herbs incased in a polenta coating. Sort of like a french fry or a fish finger, when picking them up you tend to have no idea and bite into them expecting a crunch - what a surprise you get. Really innovative and morish, they are defintely worth a try and are fun to eat.
Three pizzas were ordered - Gera's Gourmet, Prosciutto and Dragon's Breath.
Gera's Gourmet was a sort of surpreme, with a pesto base and feta. Though I give credit to the pizza, it is nothing special compared to other ones that were tried that night.
Labeled on the menu as "the hot pizza" the Dragon's Breath is an interesting dish. It is worth an attempt and has a nice flavour - I could have handled it a bit spicier.
The best pizza though was the prosciutto, which consisted of goats cheese and carmalised onion creating a sophisicated motley crew of flavours that blended all too well. It was innovative - unlike what you would find in an Italian restaurant - but also kept in the traditional vein of what a pizza is: a few dynamic ingredients with a focus on individual flavours.
To go with the meal, I had a couple of drinks: a chai tea milkshake and a sunset dip mocktail. The latter was underwhelming - basically just tasted of fruit juice; while the former was pretty soothing and had the distinct chai taste.
Finishers were some jelly beans, which are essentially jelly beans.
After hearing about this place for quite some time, it has sounded like one to try. A very good go-to option for residents and visitors in the vincinity. It is a little more pricey than most other pizzerias, but if you want an above average pizza with an inviting environment this is certainly a place to go. If I am in the area again, heeding my own advice is very likely and I wish to return here.
Nice atmosphere.
Food was nice and came out very fast.
Split bill is great idea.
Good food, good staff, arguably the best pizza on the North Coast.
We went to Fire in the belly for my sons birthday. The service was exceptional and the food was great also. Food came out in good time, meals were a good size and the prawn pizza was the best I've ever had.
Has to be the best pizza I've had for years! This restaurant has beautiful food, great fast service and the hosts are full of class. Very welcoming to our young son. Thanks guys for an awesome birthday dinner.
It has been quite some time since we visited Fire in The Belly!
It will not be that long again.
Last week we visited and had a wonderful meal. The service was terrific and not even an accident on the next table with smashed glass and mess fazed the very personable waiter.
There is a great choice of food and we were all eyeing off the dessert selection...making yum noises when we ordered!
This time there was no dessert as the portions were perfect and there was no room. In fact we asked for a box for the leftover and too delicious to contemplate wasting pizza and that was also delivered with a smile.
Fire in the Belly you are fabulous. We will be back!
