Review The Deck Steakhouse - Mackay

I recommend making a booking. We were walk-ins and lucky to get one of the last 3 tables available. Friendly staff. Clean restaurant and the food was great. We had natural oysters that were a decent size, a wagyu steak cooked perfect medium rare, garlic bread, a prime rib also cooked perfectly medium rare, and drinks. The mushroom sauce seemed to be handmade but don't quote me on that. It was really good. Side salads were fresh which was a plus. Highlight for me was the lemon, lime and bitters. You wouldn't believe how many bar staff butcher this drink. This place however, made it pretty decent. I'd visit again.

A true shame, if only this venue followed and adhered to state RSA laws. Then it would make their paying customers feel more welcome. This wonderful place of Mackay filled with returning and new tourists and travelling professionals. Being denied of having digital ID? I beg your pardon.

I have been a couple of times now and the steak is so wonderful to eat..the salad is great with the chips. I have had the fish and it was lovely as well.. The Deck Steakhouse has my vote any time....😃😃

Bar not open in restaurant oysters kilpatrick were disgusting nd waited an hour for our main. Background noise way too loud as had to scream to be heard. Will never go back

View and the steak were outstanding the side salad was a little weak but overall would go again

Worst Mojito I have ever had... food is not worth the cost... if you wanna have beer and stuff, chill out but I would never recommend food and cocktails in this place.

We had steak and chips for dinner. They tasted ok, just another pub meal nothing really outstanding. This restaurant was extremely under staffed. We waited for over 50 mins for our dinner. We had to clean up our table by ourselves by moving dirty dinner plates on to other tables. We looked around, there were at least 6 tables full with used dirty dinner plates and nobody came to clean them up. I think they really need to at least clean up all the tables ASAP. Seriously, we waited for 50 mins and absolutely nobody came to clean up any of those 6 dirty tables.

Very busy tonight, amazing atmosphere, service and food!! Meals were fast for a busy restaurant and great prices!! On holidays but definitely will recommend to anyone and be back whenever in the area 🙂 well done to the busy staff tonight, hope your boss appreciates all the hard work!

Given a 2 rating based purely on its location and ambience otherwise would be a zero! Food is crap with no redeeming feautures I would highly reccomend avoiding!

Fantastic location, however food was average at best. Over priced for what it was. <br/>Word of advice - don't bother asking how I want your steak cooked if you are going to serve up whatever comes out. We ordered three steaks none were cooked as requested.

Nice location. Ordered the lunch special. It was a pretty ordinary steak cooked poorly. Pepper sauce was not tasty. A lunch that I won't remember.

Lunch Special - $18.50. The best Fish and Chips I've ever had. Crumbed Red Throat Emperor with Chips and Salad. The fish was soft and fluffy, with a nice crunchy crumb (not the battered alternative).<br/>Chips were identical, big crunch, with soft center without that oil soaked taste. Brilliant!
