I remember this cafe being featured on a newspaper or an online foodie website once, and was glad to try out. The place is small to medium in size and I was surprised to see it packed with people on a rainy Saturday, even before noon. Waiting staff were friendly and attentive and the menu showcased a variety of options to choose from. The inside of the cafe felt bright and neat. The miso salmon dish I tried was delicious with a combination of different veggies complementing the salmon.
Humble cafe in the suburbs of Macleod with a crew full of smiles!
FOOD: I ordered the Berrylicious Smoothie Bowl and to my surprise, they changed the recipe (?) while the full description was still on there so I was like oh lmao HAHAH but it definitely was true to its name! It was definitely a berry smoothie bowl and for once, the granola was the BIGGEST portion but the fruits were slightly skimpy. The toppings of cacao nibs and pistachio was a nice touch however and it was a good smoothie bowl! Slightly different but good.
SERVICE: Really pleasant service with the loveliest waitress who greeted everyone with a smile and a happy demeanour! Though it was a cloudy morning, the crew definitely brightened it :)
Absolutely LOVED Touchstone! Located in a gorgeous suburban are across from a child friendly park, the ambience is amazing. The cafe has a fancy feel with incredible food. The French toast was presented in a stunning way and was so mouthwatering. The pulled pork was flavoursome and hearty! Will DEFINITELY return.
Beautiful cafe! Service was attentive and friendly. Menu was great, lots of variety. Food was delicious and so was the coffee. Will certainly be back!
Awesome food... so delicious and great vegan options, service has definitely improved over last couple of weeks. It is the best cafe in Macleod.
Fresh and tasty menu, light and airy space. We had the breakfast burrito dish and the sardines dish. Both were delicious. Coffee was good. Staff were friendly. Definitely coming back as there were other interesting things we wanted to try on the menu
- ok so I went to this cafe 3 times this week! Also have had the Golden Gaytime French toast & chilli scramble, both good. Tasted the salmon poke bowl and it was amazing

I ordered a miso salmon soba bowl.
It comes with avocado, seaweed, peas, broccoli, pickled cabbage, wonton crisps, soba noodles with miso salmon. This salmon bowl is amazing. The miso salmon itself has beautiful flavour, perfectly cooked with all of the side dishes mixed very well! I’m so impressed with the combo. -

I ordered a flat white. They forgot about my coffee until I mentioned it when I got the food. A bit disappointed with it but doesn’t bother me too much. Coffee is average. As a barista, the flat white isn’t flat enough, more like a latte. -

Service is nothing special, I guess it’s their opening week so it’s still pretty busy, it could be pretty loud in the shop when it’s busy. But will definitely come back for food!
Location : 3 mins away from Macleod station.
It's been a while since my vegetarian and I went abroad to the community to look for tasty treats, so when we decided to leave the puppies at home and venture out to Touchstone in Macleod, we were a bit out of the loop.
Situated on a corner near the Macleod train station and opposite the local tennis courts, Touchstone has been open for a scant 8 weeks. Opening a cafe anywhere in Melbourne is a fraught affair, a first impression can make or break an opening run. So, how does Touchstone stack up?
Well, very well indeed actually. There's a modest sized menu with a wide scope for vegetarians and vegans, some delicious fare for omnivores and their coffee, by Symmetry roasters, is excellent, and I mean EXCELLENT.
The Salmon Miso bowl was made veggie for my veggie, and was light, crunchy and tasty, without being mired in heavy dressing. The Pea and Manchego Fritters were likewise light, though quite filling. They could perhaps use a lemon wedge to spritz up the overall flavour profile, but they were nevertheless great eating.
We'll be back for certain, to test out the rest of the menu. Our old favourites have some fresh new competition. Visit, please do!
Great new cafe in Macleod boasting a bright, modern fit out and equally modern menu. I ordered the shawarma spiced pumpkin with quinoa salad
- a huge, meltingly soft wedge of pumpkin with a bright tasty salad of quinoa, radish, quick pickled onion, pepitas and kale. It was very delicious. Friendly service and good coffee. Would definitely go back!
New Cafe on the Block 🌟
I went to Touchstone Cafe in Macleod with one goal and one goal only and that was try their signature dish...
I present to you the Golden Gaytime French Toast 🙌
The dish was everything you could have dream of and more.
Great layout, great staff and great food! 😍
Breakfast - 2nd April 2022
Really good food and dog friendly!
Staff were really friendly and good location with easy parking!
QR code check in right at the front door though no one asked me if I've checked in or to look at my certificate.
Delicious hotcakes and coffee! Plenty of seating and the wait for food isn't long at all. I will be back to try the other dishes on the menu.
Touchstone is a good option for takeaway coffee and a snack in the morning. It’s let down a little by the long wait for your order.

Food was tasty although I replaced meat with mushrooms and got charged extra. Service wasn't the best, friendly but they stay behind the counter. Drink order missed.
Found this place quite by accident and could not have loved it more. Service was outstanding, atmosphere was very welcoming and the food was delicious. I ordered the best berry smoothie I have ever had before. I very much recommend visiting!
I came back recently and was blown away by the menu and service. One of the best, if not the best cafe in the area. The menu pleased 3 generations, from my elderly parents, to me and my toddlers. Something for everyone and all came away happy.
