We tried a variety of things between us and we all loved them - garlic pizza (gluten free), arincini balls, chicken parmigiana, mushroom gnocchi, veal, and a few different pastas. The food was delicious, serving sizes were generous and service was great. Will definitely be back!
This has got to be the best Italian Restaurant in Melbourne!!! Celebrated my birthday with my twin sister and family today and what a great lunch we had!! Food was amazing, service great and it just felt like Nonna was cooking in the kitchen. And by the way did l say how affordable it is!!!! Definite must try and believe me you wont be disappointed!!!

It might look like your regular average pizza/pasta restaurant, but Via Fratelli is above that. The food is always really, really good and the service is pretty much always spot on. It's a very casual restaurant, and certainly not fine dining, but if you're wanting that good, comforting and homely meal, that's what you'll get here.
While I usually have their gnocci (which is always soft and beautiful) and have tried a chicken pizza once (and thoroughly enjoyed it), the last time I went, I ordered their special which was a homemade roasted pumpkin, sage and ricotta ravioli, with a delicious sage butter and cream sauce. It was delectable and yum.
The bottom line is that with everything they have on their menu and the great service and reasonable prices, if you're after a reliable good, casual Italian meal, then this is the place. Lot's of parking on the street and a lot of space inside for a meal for two or a big party of even up to 20 or so.
4.5. Had the Mexicana woodfire pizza, homemade gnocchi pollo funghi, spaghetti marinara, and Nutella pizza.
As with woodfire pizza you get that nice uneven toast to the dough. The Mexicana was topped with large slices of salami, roast capsicum and some chili. A simple pizza that will satisfy if you prefer 'less is more' types of toppings.
The spaghetti marinara nailed the very basics to a good pasta, the spaghetti is well coated with quality olive oil, this really makes a difference though subtle and stands out compared to other restaurants.
The finisher, Nutella pizza, was the killer. A huge calzone filled with generous amount of Nutella, topped with two scoops of vanilla ice cream. Every bite was sinful with joy. While the Nutella had a slightly hardened texture, the thickness of the Nutella filling in each bite more than compensates it.

So, we tried the all you can eat pizza and tapas for 30$ each. We were served with three types of veg tapas and four types of woodfired veg pizza. The best bruschetta and garlic pizza that i ever had. Had traditional tiramisu in the end (not included in deal). Amazing taste and service. Thumbs up. Thank you!
Looks like a fairly unremarkable suburban Italian place from the outside, but the food is very very good. Both the pizzas and the gnocchi were generous sizes. The gnocchi was tender, and if you like thin crust the pizzas are pretty perfect
We love this place, great food, lovely staff and very friendly owner. Great tapas, beautiful risotto and perfect pastas, what else do you need.

There’s a few Italian options around the area and prior to another challenging evening of tabletop gaming we decided to go for an inspired bite. Via Fratelli offers great Italian in a warm, comfy atmosphere and the food kept us pretty happy. I ordered the Fettucini Fratelli which was a chicken tossed in a creamy basil pesto with sun-dried tomatoes. It was a tasty, indeed creamy sauce and the pasta was fresh but possibly could have done with a bit more on the meat front.
So, obviously being able to BYO is fantastic, however the screaming children were not so 'fantastic'. The eggplant dish here was completely on point, am defentally planning on making another visit to distory this dish. Overall nice place and nice food
Not a bad place with reasonably modern decor (some signs of wear). We ordered sicilian scallops, bruschetta, capricciosa pizza, veal scallopine, penne giovanni and fettucine matriciana. Sicilian scallops were outstanding, moist tender with a beautiful zesty and smoky flavour. Excellent bruschetta with generous topping, capricciosa had a thin crispy base and was good. Giovanni was OK but lacked flavour. Matriciana was OK but lacked a genuine home made tomato flavour. Waitress was inexperienced and had to confirm orders a couple of times but otherwise was attentive and friendly. prices reasonable. A good place for young families but the menu was a little too kid-friendly for my liking.
