Our first visit to Xanadu came when I’d been Chef’s wife for all of a few days. Honeymooning in Margaret River, the Xanadu cellar door was on our must visit list and good job, as their 2005 Shiraz was a cracker. I think we bought a whole case! Fast forward a decade or so and we were back again, invited by the Xanadu team, and so glad to see their wines are as exceptional as ever.
For lovers of good food and wine, the South West of our fair state is a very easy part of the world to fall in love with. We are spoilt with an abundance of outstanding wineries and fortunately many of their beautiful cellar doors are accompanied by equally impressive restaurants. I’ve long had my list of favourites for a lazy lunch when in the region, but for some remiss reason I’d never been to Xanadu Wines.
We had a late lunch at the Xanadu and it was delicious! Gourmet presentation, decent prices and the staff were lovely. We had a range of dishes and each of them were perfect. 👌🏼 The soft background music coupled with a lazy beanbag setup for the cheesey wine drinkers called for a super chill atmosphere! The yummy wine selection on offer had us ealking away with 3 bottles of Shiraz. 🍇💕 Highly recommend!
Went there for lunch yesterday, the Xanadu board was lovely, duck pate, duck Terrine, chorizo an pork belly, shared between two it is a great entree, highly highly recommend.
The mains were also very good, my party enjoyed the Barramundi, the spatchcock and the lamb with smokey eggplant et al. The barramundi was perfectly cooked but l was dissappointed to see that it was served with a mayonnaise/aoli type sauce, nice but I would've preferred something different. The charred grilled spatchcock needed more char but was ok and my 14 year old loved the lamb rump.
All washed down with the Xanada 2013 $40 Chardonnay, nice. I don't that that the reserve is worth the additional$40.
Outstanding service & amazing food! It was the perfect way to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary!
So delicious. Came here wth my family and had the 60$ course meal. everything was delicious. the dessert of chocolate, banana and salted caramel was to die for
Nice food, excellent service. Wine is nice, definitely will go back again.
Delicious. We loved our meals here - each dish was cooked to perfection and such a taste sensation. Beautiful fresh fish on the kids meals also. Knowledgable attentive service by the waitstaff. Often a little quieter than the other winery restaurants.
Wow. We have a new favourite place to go when down south. Everything was amazing. 24 out of 10!
Beautiful winery that is scenic and well manicured.
4 stars for:
1. Manicured lawns
2. Classy industrial decor
3. Kid friendly
4. Picturesque
5. Excellent service from staff
6. Food was tasty
Lost 1 star for:
1. Better tasting wines at other places (this is my opinion). Take a trip around and do some tastings before buying.
2. Food was delicious and very unqiue but… Food wasn’t plated very well for the price (below expectations). Great taste but presentation could have been better.
A great place to go to for a first-time wine taster or for visitors chancing on a restaurant… but… Wouldn’t really want to return. There are better places.
Had a lovely wine tasting experience yesterday. The staff took time and care, despite getting quite busy. We enjoyed the 3 course menu. The food was delicious, delightfully presented and delivered in a timely manner. Thanks for a lovely afternoon.
A place where nobody dared to go
The love that we came to know
They call it Xanadu...
(It takes your breath and it'll leave you blind)
Sorry, but I couldn't help myself.
We had a lovely outing and lunch at this winery close to Margaret River. One of the few places with an open restaurant due to the staff shortages plaguing the industry. We enjoyed a pleasant wine tasting at the cellar door with our charming informative sommelier.
The lunch menu offers a 2 course or 3 course option. We opted for the asparagus and the cuttlefish which was superb. For mains we chose the succulent pork and the fish of the day which was moist and tasty. We sat outside in the charming terrace. I enjoyed a slice of french blue cheese and the accompaniments were sensational. Candied walnuts, pickled pear, persimmon and toasts. I just question why with all the local produce used they didnt offer margaret river cheeses. The staff were friendly and attentive. Lovely.
Visited the estate to have wine tasting. Great experience and definitely the quality of wine. Bought one and were happy customers. Nice ambience as well 👍
This is a great winery for a long lunch. The service and food are outstanding. We didn’t get a chance to do a tasting prior to lunch but that would be a good addition to the afternoon. Make sure your prebook to avoid disappointment.
Flawless meal and delicious wine with great service. Visiting from London so went for a nice meal with mine and my partner's parents. We had the two course menu and everyone loved their dishes. Very friendly and attentive service.
Their food is beyond as well as wine tasting. We’ve got some good wine back home. One of my favourite wineries in Margaret River, Western Australia.
Please do yourself a favor and visit Xanadu winery restaurant in Margaret River. The service is unmatched. Menu is small and seasonal to a particularly high standard. The staff truly cares about your experience. The food is absolutely amazing – everything we tasted melted in our mouths. Absolutely the best meal we had while in Margaret River. Highly recommend! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
