Review The Golden Ox - Margate

My wife and I held our wedding and reception here in October. Our experience both on the day and in the months leading up to the event were absolutely first class. The wedding garden was immaculate, the venue was decorated with loving care and the food was a 10 out of 10, enjoyed by everyone at the wedding. We received many compliments throughout the night and in the days that followed about our choice of venue and a huge part of that was due to the experience and high standards of Nick and Virginia. Nick and Virginia made my wife and I feel like part of the family and were so accommodating throughout all of the planning, listening to our requests and offering insights that only a lifetime of experience in the industry can provide. We already have the Golden Ox pencilled in for our anniversary and are planning another trip out in a couple of weeks for my wife's birthday. To Nick, Virginia, the fantastic waitstaff, the awesome bartenders and the amazing chefs, thank you for a perfect wedding day and we can't wait to see you all again.

I had a great experience. The staff was helpful and informative about their menu. Food was fresh and cooked well. The winner of the night was my main dish, which was grilled Barramundi.

The food is always delicious at this restaurant. Service is efficient and attentive. The menu isn't extensive, but there is a choice of steak, seafood and pasta (could have a couple more pasta dishes). The bread and dips starter is absolutely delicious as are the desserts. They have takeaway too.

Beautiful restaurant, easily our new favourite. The seafood and the steak are to die for, topped off by such amazing service and live music. Even greeted by the owner himself, from beginning to end the golden ox was an incredibly memorable evening that will be hard to stay away from!

Some unbelievably good food and really hospitable service. Very kind and accomodating to my Father who is in a wheelchair which my Mother and I appreciated very much. Can't wait to tell my mates so we can come back and eat everything.

A great place to dine always great food and staff. We go here for all our special occasions and this time was our 43rd wedding anniversary. Can highly recommend the Golden Ox Restaurant for great service and great food

So great! Staff was attentive and caring; owners are lovely people invested in making sure each customer has a positive experience. Plus the food was amazing, even days after I’m still day dreaming about their fillets and crème brûlée! Yum yum! Will definitely go back soon!

Dined here last night for my birthday and it is the best meal we have had since arriving in Australia 14 months ago! The food was delicious and beautifully presented and the atmosphere was wonderful & relaxed. The staff were friendly, attentive & prompt and the hosts; the owners Nick & Virginia were fantastic and made our experience there even more enjoyable. Nick even presented me with a bottle of wine as I was leaving, which was such a nice touch and completely topped off a wonderful evening. This is by far our Fave restaurant now, and we will be looking for an excuse to celebrate just so we can return.

What amazing service!!! We just had lunch here and every single plate was 10/10. The Seafood platter was to die for and the cocktail were delicious. Thank you to the Golden Ox team, we ended our honeymoon with a spectacular meal.

We got married at the Golden Ox on the 26th of May, 2018. From the first time we visited the Golden Ox at a wedding open day we knew it was the place for us. Nick and Virginia know their stuff! We were shown the wedding grounds, reception rooms, and decorations, then got to sit down and try out some delicious canapés and talk numbers. The quality service you get from the Golden Ox is 5 stars every step of the way. On the day of our wedding the weather was perfect, until about 2 minutes into the ceremony when the rains started. Luckily at the Golden Ox they have a beautiful undercover option within the gardens and within seconds we moved the ceremony and all our 120 guests were undercover and dry. Our photos still look amazing even though weather didn’t go as planned. The location is also fantastic at the Ox, the Redcliffe and Woody Point jetty’s are a short drive away and there’s so many other beautiful locations nearby too. We have the most beautiful photos of our bridal party out on the waterfront. You just can’t get that in other locations! The food at the Golden Ox is also absolutely delicious. I trained as a chef in the city for 3 years and I have always been amazed by the quality of food at the Golden Ox. I received so many comments by friends on how amazing the food was at the reception, and how quickly everyone was served. 5 star quality guys!!! P.s. they also cater for all dietary requirements- we had gluten free, vegan and diabetic guests and everything was catered for. I don’t know what else to say, but if you’re looking for exceptional quality then do not look any further! The Golden Ox is the place to get married. We went to the Golden Ox today for lunch with friends and loved it. The service is top notch the owners and staff are friendly I would recommend this establishment to anyone that wants to feel special. The food was great and the prices very reasonable. We will be going back again

The Golden Ox is one of the best restaurants in the Brisbane area! Nick and Virginia were absolutely amazing and the food was equally amazing. We couldn’t have been happier with the service and will definitely be back...regularly! VERY highly recommend it.

I seriously thought I'm going to have a boring food since I ordered breast chicken (love the fats I know) to my surprise I had one of the best chicken breast meal they have. I ate everything!! Yummy �

Our favourite restaurant! The dishes are delicious, the beverages delightful, the ambience comfortable and the staff perfect. The prices are extremely reasonable and you won't be disappointed. So uber awesome

Perfect place to celebrate my father in law's 80th birthday. Upholstered chairs, decent lighting, a pianist on a grand piano who made time to find out the birthday boy's favorite songs. Food was delicious and the drinks excellent. A lovely experience

Our meals were amazing. Sensational steak and amazing bugs. The service was friendly and relaxed and the beautiful lady playing piano during meal service really sets this restaurant apart..

This place is over rated... the owner hovers over you the whole time asked about 20 times how the meals were cutting in on conversations to yet again ask how the food was .... rather average food. Explains why it was so empty. Would not recommend

Wonderful dinner in the restaurant last night. Cant recommend it enough. The bay bugs were succulent and delicious, the salmon was tender medium just as it should be with a good crisp skin and the accompaniments complimented both dishes well. The dessert was wonderful and too much for me but all the meals were a good healthy size, I possibly over ordered. Wonderful ambience and so good to see old friends meeting each other by chance in the restaurant. It's not often these days that places are around long enough for that to occur.

Beautiful experience lovely staff and owners. But the stand out was the Persian chicken stuffed with Getta and caramelised onions, loads of flavour! Delicious definitely a favourite now can't wait to go back ;)

Redcliffe Icon with Seafood to die for!<br/>The Seafood Medley was amazing, Beautiful prawns and Bugs, perfectly cooked.<br/>I have never liked Muscles before but I tried them here and they were beautiful, so fresh and delicious.<br/>The Grilled Gold Band Snapper has a beautifully cooked Prawn Ravioli and the filling is divine, Highly recommend both of these dishes.<br/>Cinnamon brulee, had a crispy shell and the ice cream was outstanding.<br/>Crème caramel was silky smooth and simply divine.<br/>looking forward to going back for the Seafood or Steak night.

Really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere created by the piano player. Only complaint was that staff (in groups of 2 or 3) were constantly circling the dining floor akin to a pack of sharks at Underwater World, asking questions and interrupting table conversation.

Came here for the first time two months ago, after finding out that Morgan's in Redcliffe wouldn't be open. We had the classic seafood platter, lamb and dessert. It was excellent, and well worth the money. I definitely recommend the seafood platters, albeit it was a little on the pricier side. The presentation of the food was excellent and the ambience of the place was very nice.<br/><br/>The staff were very attentive and friendly, and almost too attentive as someone else also said. Will definitely return in the future.

I went with my girlfriends and we had so much fun! We were so excited because they were having their Seafood Celebration, and we all absolutely love seafood so it was perfect for us! I had the delicious garlic prawns and my best friend had the Bugs Galliano. The flavours were mouth-watering, the service was so friendly and quick, the atmosphere was really pleasant. We'll definitely be back soon :)

Service extremelt slow. Entrees arrived, & have now waited over an hour for main course... Have asked where meals are & was told 15 minutes. Has now been 25 minutes & still no food... NOT HAPPY !!!!

Impressed. A great night, very friendly staff including the learners. Great food without delay and the pianist was exceptional. We will be back for sure.

Absolutely amazing. I spent my 18th birthday here with family. The service is amazing, the food is expensive but worth every penny. The atmosphere is very sophisticated but still relaxed. I can't recommend it enough.

When looking for somewhere to dine we came across the Golden Ox. The food was lovely as was the ambiance. The services however was overdone. Instead of one waiter looking after us we had multiple staff asking how the meal was ( Aprox 9 or 10 times). Also the courses arrived and dishes cleared too fast so we felt hurried.

Can't fault this restaurant.. Went there for Sunday lunch with friends, a party of twelve in all.The layout and decor is more classic than modern but is spotless and comfortable.Plenty of undercover and on street parking.Staff were terrific.Efficient and friendly without being obtrusive.<br/><br/>The food was delicious,and perfectly cooked.Have dined in supposedly four star places at four times the price that didn't get within a country mile of the standard here.Desserts are simple classics, again delicious and beautifully prepared.Even the after lunch coffee was top rate.<br/><br/>Might be different in the evening or when the function rooms are busy but based on our experience couldn't give the Ox anything but a top rating.

Great Redcliffe Restaurant. The Golden Ox is an excellent restaurant, certainly one of the best restaurants in Redcliffe. The delicious food is exceeded only by the excellent customer service. The waiters are extremely nice and thoughtful, and it is one of the only places that give a real personal touch even after so many years open, with the owner coming around to talk to each table.

Great family night out. Went with my husband and two kids over the weekend, really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The menu had a lot of choice and i have to say one of the big draw cards for us was a descent kids meal! I want my kids to be able to enjoy the experience as much as we do- one of our children had the dinosaur steaks, the other had the fish and chips- both were fresh, presented beautifully and tasted really good. They were value for money. Our meals were fantastic too. The staff were very friendly and the whole family had a great night, in fact our 6 & 7 year olds want to know when we are going back!

Fantastic evening. Had a wonderful night here. The piano was playing in the back ground when we arrived. The staff were very attentive and we were even greeted at the door. The food portions were very generous (which is rare these days) and without substituting for flavour. A very enjoyable evening had by all- 10 out of 10 golden ox!

Was very excited to try out The Golden Ox and was unfortunately disappointed. The staff were a bit intrusive and over the top, which made the meal quite uncomfortable. Also made a rude comment about drinking a bottle of wine quickly. The food was dry and full of unpleasant herbs that made it borderline inedible. However, the entrees were okay and the restaurant decor is quite nice. We made a complaint and our meal was comped. After that the staff tried quite hard to make it a better experience. All in all an unpleasant and disappointing dining experience. We won't be back

What a shame. Firstly the food is fabulous..... have always enjoyed their meals, I regret that the last few times i have been I did not have chance to digest my food before feeling like I was being pushed out of the door. <br/><br/>The last time we went will now be our last .... for we felt the pushing got out of hand even after trying to slow the staff down on many occassions.<br/><br/>We were in and out within 50 min.... I have sat longer at a coffee shop without feeling such pressure.<br/><br/>Shame for i loved their food and love the atmosphere of the lady playing the piano....

Great Dining Experience. Went along on a Saturday night in Jan for my wife and son's birthday.<br/><br/>Service was polite, efficient and strangely for a Saturday night, they'd decided to use it as a training opportunity for their new wait staff, so they were followed around by the experienced shadows, to guide them along. Didn't impact us as they were polite throughout, made no mistakes and kept our glasses filled. <br/><br/>Food was an unusual mix of fine dining quality and taste with RSL size portions. Suited me fine as I was hungry as, but sadly meant we didnt really have any room for dessert.<br/><br/>The Old Dear on the piano is a legend. She played away almost non-stop for the entire evening and every so often, wandered around the tables for a bit of chat with the guests and to get any requests. Maybe if you're just after a quiet romantic evening with minimal interuptions, then maybe the Ox isn't for you, but if you're in the mood for a little entertainment with your meal, then book it in.<br/><br/>When I made the booking by phone, they asked if it was for a special occasion, and then after our mains, they brought out complimentary mocktail for my son and shooter for my wife. Really nice touch and topped our night off a treat.

Loved this restaurant. My husband took his staff out to this restaurant at the beginning of the year. The food was amazing. The service was faultless. I recommend this place to anyone and will definitely be going back more frequently.

I had read about the The Gol.... I had read about about all the awards The Golden Ox recieved for food and service... So when I moved to Brisbane's North side we had to check it out. I love food and I usually make my decision from the menu of food that I could never cook at home.<br/><br/>So I ordered the duck with beautiful greens as a main it was mouth wateringly delicious. Served on these gorgeous plates and perfectly matched wine. I finished with the Bombe Alaska - it was heaven.<br/><br/>Gold Star!

Spectaular seafood. My wife and I visited the restaurant during a Wednesday night in Redcliffe. We had the seafood degustation and the food quality was faultless. We could not complain about the service because even though it was busy we got our food very quickly, and the waitperson showed class that only quality training can bring. Every course was spot on and the wine perfectly matched. We walked out happy and suggest others to try it too.

Don't see what the fuss is about. It's really not as good as everyone makes out. The atmosphere is poor - it just feels like nobody wants to be there :(

Worst resturant ever. Booked a table for friends birthday on deck when we arrived it was not set and were told to dine inside.Drinks very slow being served,orders taken 1 hour after arrival.All food arrived cold and table not all served at same time.Dirty cutlery left on table yuk.Did send back bread and dipping sauce,calamari,risotti and owner did apologize and replace mind you this was no better.3 hours later main arrived none of us really hungry lucky one of our guests had bought along snacks for her daughter so we shared.Seafood plaltter at I think $140 arrived with no plates and no finger bowls we shared the water jug to rinse.Poor service,disgusting food,dirty cutlery and very old decor never to return better at local RSL or pub and poor quality for money.

Great!. After seeing all the rave reviews from fellow diners, I finally had the opportunity to visit here. Oh man, nothing has ever been up to my exceedingly high expectations as much as this place! It excelled in every way. The restaurant had an elegant and atmospheric feel, with warm lights and pleasant piano music. The owner/ manager was very friendly, welcoming and attentive. The staff are spot on and the food was to die for!! I am a vego, and so was another in my company. We had the risotto verde. Most probably the best of my life! Delectable and with plenty of flavour. Everyone from my party of four loved their meal. The wine on offer was impressively extensive. I cannot fault this place!! I'll be back soon :D

So accommodating!. We were so busy organising every little thing for our wedding, and the Golden Ox helped us out immensely. Not only did we get the opportunity to see the space set up for a function, but the extremely helpful wedding coordinator took the time to answer our questions, advise how the room would be set for a wedding etc. The gardens were stunning, such beautiful water features and even a lovely bridge! We were also offered the most amazing food, all of our friends and family were raving about it afterwards. In comparison to other nearby venues we viewed The Golden Ox was the most beautiful and accommodating, I’ll be recommending it to all my friends!

Refreshing change. We went for lunch on a busy Saturday. We didn't have a booking but they didn't have a problem finding us a table. We found all the waitresses and waiters to be pleasant and attentive. How could you not be happy on such a lovely day?<br/><br/>Our coffees arrived within 10 minutes and were just perfect. We both had trouble deciding what to order from their menu as it was extensive and very different from the "usual" suspects. We both decided on the macadamia barramundi which arrived within 15 minutes. It was delicious....but we saw so many other delicious meals going to other patrons, we decided we have to return next week to try out something else!

Wonderful Wedding. My husband and I had our wedding here last month, and the entire day was flawless. We used the spectacular gardens for our ceremony and photos and it was fantastic, both in practical terms by making it easy for our guests and us, as well as being such a beautiful and intimate location that looks amazing in the photos. High quality food (and plenty of it!) was an important factor for my husband and me and we weren’t disappointed. The Golden Ox are renowned for their stunning cuisine and it was absolutely spectacular. The meals were fresh, extensive (we had some vegetarian guests) and delightful! The wedding coordinator was organised and approachable and patient with all my hundreds of questions and queries! The restaurant owner on the night was extremely friendly and willing to go above and beyond to make the night a success - in which it certainly was! The night ran so smoothly and all of our guests commented on how great the food and service was. I am so glad with our decision to have our wedding at the golden ox - they displayed the upmost professionalism at all times!

Spectacular steak. Some friends and I went for dinner the other day on a busy Saturday. Staff were lovely, friendly and efficient, and the menu was fantastic – so much variety! I had the grain fed rump with potato bake, it was just amazing. My friends' dishes were just as yummy. Great value and great quality. Thoroughly recommend - these guys are doing a great job and are an asset to Margate - keep up the great work!!

This is the perfect example of beautiful restaurant, crap food and service. We went their for Christmas lunch buffet, they would only give out 3 (small) prawns at a time then they ran out of almost all the food. Very disgusted. Then went a few weeks later for dinner, waited 1 hour for the entree and I would of much rather went across the road to KFC and ordered a more flavoursome meal from them. Overpriced slop.

Consistently good food and great service. I dined at The Golden Ox last night (and at least 6 other times recently) and have to say how wonderful it is to find a restaurant with consistently good food and great service. We actually go there so often now that the wait staff and the friendly owners treat us like family.

Exceptionally good food. As a fan of modern Australian cuisine, why I hadn't tried The Golden Ox is beyond me! The food demonstrated this restaurant's pedigree with an equal measure of assurance and skill. Fantastic food, great service. Definitely plan on going again.

Will definitely return!. We ventured into Redcliffe last week to dine for the first time since moving from Sydney. We were delightfully surprised to find extremely good food and had a lovely night. We weren’t sure what to expect in Redcliffe but we’ve now found our number one spot!

An icon of Redcliffe. One of the best spots in Redcliffe. Decor is perfect and the atmosphere was relaxed. I personally take my hat off to the chefs, they brought every flavour out of their food and the presentation was perfect. Lovely place to take a date or family.

Xmas party. I attended my work christmas party at the ox. The food was great the service was very good and we had our own private room so we could dance at the end of the night. The staff were very helpful and accomodating, we had a buffet, there was so much fresh seafood and beautiful roasts and salads. I may have eaten a little too much because it was so good; lucky its christmas!

Absolutely delicious. We have always had a great meal when dining at the Golden Ox. The menu prices are very reasonable and the food is delicious - our friends loved it! The seafood platters are fabulous (as always) but I really love the fish dishes and can't go past the snapper casablanca or the macadamia barramundi. The décor is very nice and has a relaxed feel, exactly what I'm after.

Superb. Excellent on all counts. I visited The Golden Ox with 3 other 'foodies' from Melbourne and we were all very impressed. The coconut brulee was absolutely fantastic! Another perfect Golden Ox experience.

Simply amazing. I shared a spectacular seafood platter with my family last time, and it was unbelievable. The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere and the staff were attentive and friendly. The team at the golden ox provided exceptional food and service, and I will be sure to return.

Awesome variety, great food. Have been coming to the ox for a while now, it never dissapoints. You have so much to choose from on the menu, so everyone is happy. The meals are a really good size, the prices are competitive and the staff are always attentive. Love it! And there is so many great dishes of seafood.

Excellent Food & Service. I met some friends of mine at the golden ox over the weekend. The food was excellent- there was not one of us that did not enjoy their meals. We had seafood, steak and i had the (i think it was called) the seafood medley. It was all so fresh and it tasted delightful. I will be going back very soon to try some more items on the menu.

Little Gem. We headed to the golden ox over the weekend. The menu was really good- a great choice to select from. The restaurant was quite busy, but it did not effect our meals or the wait which we noted. The meals were very tasty, and the waitress was very attentive - all round it was a very enjoyable experience.

Great Food. We have been a few times now, the ox has quite a lot to offer in its range of menus and depending on what night you go, so its not really a restuarant you can go and get bored of the menu quickly. We have had the early bird menu and the seafood degustation- both were fantastic. we hope to make it to the steak night next and we are looking forward to more of the same- great food, great service and the atmosphere of the restaurant with the piano really makes this restuarant stand out from the rest

Families welcome. It was so nice to arrive at the golden ox with our two children in tow and be welcomed so warmly at the door. The owners Nick and Virginia really looked after us and our children, in fact our children had a great time! My husband and i ordered and the girls also ordered their meals. On arrival the kids meals were quite big, but there was as much love put into their meals as there was ours. My husband had the seafood medley and i had the Mediterranean chicken, both of which were delightful. The girls had chicken we tried a bit of theirs and it also was very good. We ordered the Kataifi cake, the brulee and the creme caramel to finish and the desserts were delectable.We had a lovely family night out, our girls ask us all the time when we are going back!

Seafood degustation. My husband and i went to the Golden Ox's seafood degustation on Wednesday evening. It was seriously good! This was the first time we had been so we didn't know what to expect. But we were so pleased with the quality, freshness and presentation of each dish and the price was very good. We will be telling all our friends and taking them with us next time!

Wedding. My Wife and i were married at The Golden Ox, we had a really great day, we were really looked after and our guests have not stopped talking about it. We go back once a month/every 6 weeks for dinner and we will do so for a very long time. Great food, great service and we had the wedding of our dreams...Thanks guys

Girls night out. Met some girlfriends at the ox today. We started with a cocktail..or two before we headed to the restaurant. We all decided to have seafood, as we had heard how good it was, and it really was great. It's not often something lives up to expectation, but I have to say the ox really did for us. The food was really tasty, fresh and just a delight to eat. We had great service and the cocktails were really good too. We will be making the ox our regular night out.

Delicious. My partner and i have just moved to the area and have been trying out the local eats and thank god for the golden ox because we were starting to get worried! It ticked all the boxes for us- well thought out menu with good variety of seafood and other alternatives. I had the lamb baharat - which was juicy and tender and the spice was just right. My husband had the Steak again was big and juicy and cooked just the way he likes it- and hes not often easy to please. We shared a lovely bottle of wine and listened to the piano and finished the night w ceme caramel (to die for) and Kataifi cake which was also stunning. we summed the food up to be simply delicious!

Great treat. My wife and i met a couple of our friends at the golden ox last week and we really enjoyed it. We are in our thirties and enjoy a good meal and a glass of wine and i have to say not one of us was dissapointed with our meals. Everything was delicious, the service was great and we will definately be going back.

Fantastic seafood. If you are a seafood lover, you should try The Golden Ox. I went recently and shared the Platinum seafood platter with my boyfriend and OMG, it was sensational. It was so fresh and there was so much of it, everything was cooked perfectly and the sauces were all made by the chef (I know because we asked). I would have to say it was one of the best seafood experiences I’ve ever had – and I’ve eaten a lot of seafood.

Good food & surrounds. Most of the food was lovely. The Garlic Prawns - absolutely delicious. For mains, my partner had the 400gm Rump with a side of hand cut chips with truffle salt & aioli - the steak perfectly cooked & tender, the chips were to die for. I had the Duck a la Renoir, which was just OK. The common problem with ordering duck is that most restaurants overcook it & once again this was the problem. For dessert, we shared the Tart Tatin, which was the perfect end to the meal. Lovely & reasonably priced wine & overall a wonderful dining experience. If I may say though...the service was a little too attentive, with many interruptions to our conversation from wait staff & owners. A bit annoying on a romantic night out.

Absolutely delicious!. I've been to the Golden Ox twice in two months and both times, it was sensational. My girl friend took me for my birthday because she loves it and I had never been. She loves the Seafood Medley and always has it and I had the Duck Renoir. I love duck and order it often but this was the best duck I've ever eaten. I was so impressed I recommended the Ox for a work lunch and the food came out fast and was absolutely delicious. That time I had the veal and it was great. This restaurant is a MUST TRY for food lovers!

Impressed by the choice of seafood!. My boyfriend and I went to the seafood celebration at The Golden Ox with another couple last week and it was fantastic. We eat out a lot but both like different things so we loved having such a choice of seafood and dishes. My absolute favourite was the ginger chilli prawns and scallops. I would highly recommend Wednesday night at the Golden Ox to any seafood lover.

Great but... The seafood tasted fresh & was delectable. We only have one complaint, the staff were constantly interrupting our meal with awkward conversation.

With a very romantic atmosphere, excellent service and yummy food "try the bugs galiano they are superb", my date in this restaurant was memorable!

I have dined several time at the Ox and the food is great!!! Service is excellent and the owners very friendly. I certainly recommend it to everyone! Thanks golden Ox for fantastic service and food!

Early birds= very happy. Since my husband and I retired, we've gotten into the habit of eating early in the evening. We noticed the Golden Ox had special prices if you ordered before 7.15 pm, so went along to try it out, and haven't looked back since! Friendly service, great mains, and even a few desserts that hark back to the good ol' days, such as The Brandy Snap Cornet. We'd recommend the Ox to all ages, if you're a local, on holidays or just passing through.

Great Venue for a romantic night out or with friends. I visit Redcliffe on a monthly basis and i frequently go out for dinner- i have to say that The Golden Ox is by far the best- the food is ALWAYS great- you can go back and it will be as good as it was the last time you went. The service is always good, i have been there with my husband and then with my girlfriends and family- always really enjoy it - and its now the only place my friends and family want to meet.

I went and had dinner at the Golden Ox. It reminded me of the great restaurants of the 1980's.For example they had brandy snaps for dessert. I have not seen those in years. It had the classic menu of seafood and steak. Decor is dated and the bar has neon lights.<br/>Food and service was great but it's old fashioned (fine). The other diners match this. The owner (gentleman 60+) took a call on mobile phone on "speaker phone" for 25 minutes. I couldn't believe it and it was so loud!. It was 7pm and they were talking about his business. I thought that was so tacky and annoying. The place is expensive for the style of food they are serving.<br/>$35 - $48 mains.

YUK. I have eaten here 3 times <br/>the vegetables are always undercooked (hard baked potatoes are awful)<br/>DO NOT order Oysters Kilpatrick they are served smothered in BARBEQUE SAUCE<br/>It is also so expensive, few locals eat here...

Great place. I have been to this restaurant 3 times now. The service is always exceptional, meals are fantastic, and cocktails are the best on this side of town. Will be returning again soon.

Fantastic. This is one of the better restaurants I have been to. The dishes are very impressive (especially the seafood) and there is a nice wine and cocktail list. It is the perfect place for a romantic evening.

Best steak in town.. The Sirloin steak is AMAZING!! Cooked exactly how I ordered.
