What amazing service!!! We just had lunch here and every single plate was 10/10. The Seafood platter was to die for and the cocktail were delicious. Thank you to the Golden Ox team, we ended our honeymoon with a spectacular meal.

We got married at the Golden Ox on the 26th of May, 2018. From the first time we visited the Golden Ox at a wedding open day we knew it was the place for us. Nick and Virginia know their stuff! We were shown the wedding grounds, reception rooms, and decorations, then got to sit down and try out some delicious canapés and talk numbers. The quality service you get from the Golden Ox is 5 stars every step of the way.
On the day of our wedding the weather was perfect, until about 2 minutes into the ceremony when the rains started. Luckily at the Golden Ox they have a beautiful undercover option within the gardens and within seconds we moved the ceremony and all our 120 guests were undercover and dry. Our photos still look amazing even though weather didn’t go as planned.
The location is also fantastic at the Ox, the Redcliffe and Woody Point jetty’s are a short drive away and there’s so many other beautiful locations nearby too. We have the most beautiful photos of our bridal party out on the waterfront. You just can’t get that in other locations!
The food at the Golden Ox is also absolutely delicious. I trained as a chef in the city for 3 years and I have always been amazed by the quality of food at the Golden Ox. I received so many comments by friends on how amazing the food was at the reception, and how quickly everyone was served. 5 star quality guys!!! P.s. they also cater for all dietary requirements- we had gluten free, vegan and diabetic guests and everything was catered for.
I don’t know what else to say, but if you’re looking for exceptional quality then do not look any further! The Golden Ox is the place to get married.

Went to dinner here for my partners birthday and was beyond pleased with their excellent service. Their food was delicious and we were happy to see generous servings. They also had polite staff and very friendly owners who greeted each guest with a warm welcome. The whole experience was wonderful! Will definitely be dining here again
Our meals were amazing. Sensational steak and amazing bugs. The service was friendly and relaxed and the beautiful lady playing piano during meal service really sets this restaurant apart..
Wonderful dinner in the restaurant last night. Cant recommend it enough. The bay bugs were succulent and delicious, the salmon was tender medium just as it should be with a good crisp skin and the accompaniments complimented both dishes well. The dessert was wonderful and too much for me but all the meals were a good healthy size, I possibly over ordered. Wonderful ambience and so good to see old friends meeting each other by chance in the restaurant. It's not often these days that places are around long enough for that to occur.
Beautiful experience lovely staff and owners. But the stand out was the Persian chicken stuffed with Getta and caramelised onions, loads of flavour! Delicious definitely a favourite now can't wait to go back ;)
Redcliffe Icon with Seafood to die for!
The Seafood Medley was amazing, Beautiful prawns and Bugs, perfectly cooked.
I have never liked Muscles before but I tried them here and they were beautiful, so fresh and delicious.
The Grilled Gold Band Snapper has a beautifully cooked Prawn Ravioli and the filling is divine, Highly recommend both of these dishes.
Cinnamon brulee, had a crispy shell and the ice cream was outstanding.
Crème caramel was silky smooth and simply divine.
looking forward to going back for the Seafood or Steak night.
Really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere created by the piano player. Only complaint was that staff (in groups of 2 or 3) were constantly circling the dining floor akin to a pack of sharks at Underwater World, asking questions and interrupting table conversation.
Came here for the first time two months ago, after finding out that Morgan's in Redcliffe wouldn't be open. We had the classic seafood platter, lamb and dessert. It was excellent, and well worth the money. I definitely recommend the seafood platters, albeit it was a little on the pricier side. The presentation of the food was excellent and the ambience of the place was very nice.
The staff were very attentive and friendly, and almost too attentive as someone else also said. Will definitely return in the future.
I went with my girlfriends and we had so much fun! We were so excited because they were having their Seafood Celebration, and we all absolutely love seafood so it was perfect for us! I had the delicious garlic prawns and my best friend had the Bugs Galliano. The flavours were mouth-watering, the service was so friendly and quick, the atmosphere was really pleasant. We'll definitely be back soon :)
Absolutely amazing. I spent my 18th birthday here with family. The service is amazing, the food is expensive but worth every penny. The atmosphere is very sophisticated but still relaxed. I can't recommend it enough.
When looking for somewhere to dine we came across the Golden Ox. The food was lovely as was the ambiance. The services however was overdone. Instead of one waiter looking after us we had multiple staff asking how the meal was ( Aprox 9 or 10 times). Also the courses arrived and dishes cleared too fast so we felt hurried.

My wife and I held our wedding and reception here in October.
Our experience both on the day and in the months leading up to the event were absolutely first class.
The wedding garden was immaculate, the venue was decorated with loving care and the food was a 10 out of 10, enjoyed by everyone at the wedding. We received many compliments throughout the night and in the days that followed about our choice of venue and a huge part of that was due to the experience and high standards of Nick and Virginia. Nick and Virginia made my wife and I feel like part of the family and were so accommodating throughout all of the planning, listening to our requests and offering insights that only a lifetime of experience in the industry can provide.
We already have the Golden Ox pencilled in for our anniversary and are planning another trip out in a couple of weeks for my wife's birthday.
To Nick, Virginia, the fantastic waitstaff, the awesome bartenders and the amazing chefs, thank you for a perfect wedding day and we can't wait to see you all again.
I had a great experience. The staff was helpful and informative about their menu.
Food was fresh and cooked well. The winner of the night was my main dish, which was grilled Barramundi.
The food is always delicious at this restaurant. Service is efficient and attentive. The menu isn't extensive, but there is a choice of steak, seafood and pasta (could have a couple more pasta dishes). The bread and dips starter is absolutely delicious as are the desserts. They have takeaway too.
Beautiful restaurant, easily our new favourite. The seafood and the steak are to die for, topped off by such amazing service and live music. Even greeted by the owner himself, from beginning to end the golden ox was an incredibly memorable evening that will be hard to stay away from!
Some unbelievably good food and really hospitable service. Very kind and accomodating to my Father who is in a wheelchair which my Mother and I appreciated very much. Can't wait to tell my mates so we can come back and eat everything.
A great place to dine always great food and staff. We go here for all our special occasions and this time was our 43rd wedding anniversary. Can highly recommend the Golden Ox Restaurant for great service and great food
So great! Staff was attentive and caring; owners are lovely people invested in making sure each customer has a positive experience. Plus the food was amazing, even days after I’m still day dreaming about their fillets and crème brûlée! Yum yum! Will definitely go back soon!
Dined here last night for my birthday and it is the best meal we have had since arriving in Australia 14 months ago! The food was delicious and beautifully presented and the atmosphere was wonderful & relaxed. The staff were friendly, attentive & prompt and the hosts; the owners Nick & Virginia were fantastic and made our experience there even more enjoyable. Nick even presented me with a bottle of wine as I was leaving, which was such a nice touch and completely topped off a wonderful evening. This is by far our Fave restaurant now, and we will be looking for an excuse to celebrate just so we can return.
