Review Be.k Edgewater - Maribyrnong

This is a hidden gem!!! Truely amazing food! The range and variety is extensive. If you love Asian food go no further… friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. Love love love

Super pro now. They really up'd their game. Expanded menu offerings, tweaked recipes, staff have uniforms new, professionally done menus. The almond Panna was not supple (bit on the hats side). The bingsu however has added grass jelly, although they were stingy on the cheese cake topping. Will give hot food a go (again) next visit.

Highly surprised by the great food quality of this Cafe. With my mate we entered with low expectations due to the place is kind of hidden and not so good looking from the outside. So wrong we were; amazing flavours, textures and presentation. Recommend it 100%
Diana
Love their bingsu. Small business so need to be patient. Yes they are very quick with service so don’t expect fast service especially with dessert that requires the ice maker.

We took Mum for lunch today. It’s our first time trying but lots of disappointment unfortunately we won’t be coming back. My kids were waiting for so long for the snowman dersert to be served after our main meals. We expected to see something close to the photo in the menus. When it finally served, my five years old still asking where’s the snowman? Look like they just throw things on the plate, it’s not even complete as what’s on their menu. By the way, only 3 of 4 our dishes were served. The 4th dish was left forgotten until we have finished everything which we had to take away. Photos are the 2 desert we ordered. Snowman brownie Nutella and berries crepe

Great place to hang out with yummy dessert. They need to open a bit later at night, 1am would be best.

For the two dishes we ordered, it was incredible. Korean fried chicken was so crispy, well seasoned and juicy.. I'm surprised myself to say it was a very memorable fried chicken considering they're a dessert joint. Donut dessert was unique and hits the spot :) I believe they do need more training for customer service and speed in preparing the food. We waited 30-40min. But for us, worth it!

One of my new favorite cafes in the area! Finally a place in the area open reasonably late that has good savory food (Korean fried chicken!) and even better desserts!

Love this place! Never disappoints. The staff and the owners are wonderful and the food is amazing

The bum cha was okay but I was worried to eat it cause the workers were coughing. Wasn’t sure if they were sick.

This will be my first and last visit. Wanted to support local business in the western suburbs. Ordered a couple of bingsus. I kid you not, there was 1cm of shaved ice, then some topping, everything was about 2cms in height, and paid $12. Their argument is that due to covid 19, they reduced the serving to prevent customers from sharing. First of all, you should advise that on the menu and shouldn’t have a regular-large sized picture of the bingsu advertised. Secondly, 1cm worth of shaved ice is ridiculous. You get 3-4 times more in Scoopy Milk Bar for $9. $12 wasn’t much for a dessert, but to receive that quantity was shocking. Felt very much ripped off.

Went with the Apple crumble bingsu which was really nice, id say 8/10. Could have used a milk pour but being takeaway it wasn't an option. Serving size to price ratio is disappointing but again its takeaway. Will revisit when isolation is over.

The service is extremely slow every time I come. There was around 5 staff standing at the counter, and the food came around 30 mins (or more). When we came in they placed us near this machine which looked dirty and old where we proceeded to ask to move and the waiter said all the other tables were full, but there were no reservation signs (besides one table) and more than 5 tables empty. The soy garlic chicken was very nice, but snowy cheese was disappointing. When we finished eating the server only cleaned half the table and we had to asked another server to clean the rest of the table. The bingsu was nice but bit overpriced. The atmosphere is nice and welcoming. Overall the food is quite nice, but the service is disappointing.
Kelly
They actually used FRESH durian for their crepes!!!!! Both meals I had was really good! Just tables were a bit small but it’s alright makes it cosy I guess
Victoria Hadson
Staff were very unprofessional.

Been waiting over 30 minutes for my Bingsu to come, been told by staff it was because they had to wash the ice blender, so what kind of ice blender takes over 30 minutes to wash? Staff kept talking and laughing while making food, without wearing a mask. Will never be back to this cafe again for sure.

Be.K is a cute little cafe that boasts the most incredible Asian-fusion style menu. Open from early morning till late at night, it’ll satisfy any cravings from breakfast to dessert.

I was lucky enough to try a variety of their most popular savoury and sweet dishes, all of which were absolutely delicious!

The Creamy Miso Udon was probably the whole table’s favourite! The broth was so creamy and rich, almost like a carbonara sauce, and the udon noodles perfectly soaked up all the flavours. Very decadent but very delicious!

The Banh Khot was one of my personal favourites. Bite-sized Vietnamese pancakes, this dish was on the lighter side. I loved the dipping sauce which was sweet, tangy and refreshing.

The Scallop Baked Eggs were again very rich and creamy. A very hearty and moorish dish, balanced out with the lightness from the seafood and edamame. Another winner!

The Korean Fried Donut were super delicious - crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The syrup had a rich caramel-y taste and the crumble added a really nice textural element. I loved the addition of apples which balanced out the sweetness.

The S’Mores French Toast is not to miss either! A huge thick slab of fluffy white toast, covered in torched meringue, marshmallows, and a healthy scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream. There is honestly no better combination!

However, my favourite dessert still has to be their bingsu. We tried the Lotus Caramel Bingsu this time and it was absolute heaven! A very light and refreshing dessert, perfect for the summer (or even winter, in my case). I love the crunch from all the Lotus biscuit crumbs and the combination of caramel sauce with the refreshing shaved ice!

I absolutely love this place so much, and I will definitely need to come back to try more dishes (and bingsu!).

Thank you so much for having me!
Joanne Nguyen
their customer service was horrible. they had forgotten our order and then tried to make excuses. usually when an order is forgotten extra food is given or at least a proper apology

#BMAfavourites || SWEET TOOTH HEAVEN! @be.kedgewater - this dessert hot spot is a sweet tooth’s dream! With Asian fusion desserts like Korean donuts, waffles with amazing mochi textures and matcha lava cakes, I don’t know how why their desserts aren’t all over the internet! Thanks for creating some innovative, stunning and delicious desserts for Melbourne @be.kedgewater

Competitor to the popular desserts by night on the other side of the road, be.k is certainly becoming just as popular. Desserts on par but with the addition of a variety of savoury dishes that are just as delicious. Highly recommended place to be if you're up for some late night bites
Melbourne_eats_
Usually come here for the bingsu (better than scoopy!) but decided to try something else off the menu.
The Korean donut, and WOW! It was amazing! 10/10.
It looked amazing on the plate and tasted even better!
Only downfall is service is lacking and coffee isn’t that great.
But desserts are always a 10/10!
Hello. Imnikki
Not my first time at Be K and definitely not my last. Here at Be K, you will be spoilt for choices whether you love savoury or sweets. The Asian fusion menu incorporates not only Vietnamese but also Korean themes into their dishes, and each of the dishes we tried were executed to perfection.

Amongst the savouries that I had the chance to dig into, I must mention the creamy miso udon, and scallop and prawn baked eggs. Both possessed incredible depth of flavours and while rich and creamy, they both managed to showcase light and delicate flavours that keeps you coming back for more.

The Banh Khot was a moreish bite sized treat, and the accompanying sauce was a delicious mix of zesty, sweet and tangy. The Cloudy Eggs was pillowy soft, and such a unique twist on the normal eggs on toast dishes that we see everyday.

I managed to save some room for desserts, and those desserts were mind blowing! The Lotus bingsu is the quintessential summer treat - light as air shaved ice, doused in Lotus sauce and topped with biscuit crumbs. The thick as French Toast was heavenly; the toast was fluffy like a cloud, and with a subtle sweetness to it that complemented the lush toasted gooey marshmallows. The Korean doughnuts was another divine creation. Paired with apples, this was a dish filled with warm spices and tarty sweetness.

I could go on and on about all the dishes here but all you really need to know is that they were all faultless. Fresh ingredients, gorgeous presentation and well thought out in both textures and flavours. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality.

it's nice to find a cafe which open 'till late. Their Korean fried chicken tastes good although the presentation is just so plain. Too bad that at the time my friend and I dined in there, they forgot my friend's order of drink. Even after we reminded them, it took ages for the drink to come.

Extremely bad service. We were here first and they gave us a table after cleaning it. We were looking at the menu and after a few minutes they told us that they wanted to move us because a party of 3
rocked up after? I was like fine and they gave us this crappy table that and tiny and wasn't even. Then I was still like wtv... but after another table cleared up I asked to move there and they said it's reserved??? Was a regular. Will never return again. Unacceptable

Came here on a few occasions with my girlfriends, used to love this joint for their delicious desserts especially bingos but recently my visits have been a let down. Their cake fridge now looks disgusting, had their macaroons and they were stale and had a bad taste to it, overpriced too, $3 for a macaroon as small as ur eye, unbelievable. staff are clueless, don’t know what they’re doing, didn’t give us all the menus, barely speak english, asked a staff to bring extra sauce for my burger
and she gave me napkins? so i proceeded to ask another staff member. won’t be coming back anytime soon with the recent food and customer services i’ve had.
Alex
came here twice, crap food, crap service. came in on one occasion with the boys on wednesday night, was served with what was apparently a ‘charcoal’ bun, tasted like chocolate, so bloody sweet, disgusting, never been serviced a black bun with my TRIPLE CHEESE BURGER PICTURED A GOLDEN BRIOCHE BUN ON MENU. thought it might’ve been due to menu changes, came back week after with misses, got served RAW PINK chicken, told front staff, they recooked it and this time it just tasted chicken trenched in oil. never coming to this place again, not sure how they have 3.9 rating, full of crap
D
Best bingsu in Melbourne! Really random mix of food they offer, everything from brunch, traditional Vietnamese, Korean fried chicken through to baked treats and desserts
Jenny T
Overly priced, flavours didn’t really go well together.
Tommylicious
Got a bibimbap here. Word of advice, probably should only order their signature foods. Worst bibimbap I’ve ever had sadly. Lots of rice, hardly any meat or vegetables. Asked if I could add more meat and veggies. It was an extra $10? Like mate what. May as well order Aldi chicken next door

Great desserts though. And some amazing drinks.
LT X EATS
a place where chicken and dessert does wonders.
Been here a few times however it was for the bingsoo (korean dessert) and they do it well!
Last night, went on a little food adventure with my cousin; she recommended me the chicken.

1- soy & garlic chicken (half). This came out very hot and fresh. They really don’t play with flavour! It’s was absolutely delicious.

2- Nachos with beef and kimchi. Had no intention to order this but it looked interesting so we gave it a go. Actually not too bad, but wish there was a little more kimchi.

Service was mediocre but the team was friendly
Taylor Le
Been here several times.
It’s a joint I often go to for some korean themed dishes and bing su, normally service is great but just wish they had better outside service when it comes to the weather.
It’s a nice joint to hang at!
Lyonee Dang
What a little gem 💎
My girlfriends and I had lunch here, we ordered 3 dishes, all 3 dishes tasted delicious with vibrant colours and visibly eye catching displays. Customer service was so friendly and attentive. We were there for over 2 hours comfortably chatting away and taking pictures of the food. Lovely and cosy local place to hang out. We will definitely try out the dessert be time. Thank you for the hospitality.
Poodlelove
Used to love this place for bingsu. I ordered coconut blueberry mousse displayed in the cake fridge. But that was absolutely NOT a mousse, it was something so weird kind of jelly tasted bad and the texture was even worst, not even 1 % close to Mousse! I told one of the server that I ordered mousse and the one that I received is not, she went to ask and talked about it with them. Unfortunately she didn’t get back to give me any answer although we were waiting them to get back to us, and we left very disappointed. This is such an unprofessional customer service and made us not wanting to go back there anymore.

A cosy and interesting place.
We tried Durian Bingsu and Creme Brûlée. They were nice, delicious and instagrammable.
Definitely come back in the future.
Trimac20
A cosy, interesting place with a nice atmosphere.

I'm mostly rating the bingsu here, which is amazing. It's like shaved ice but so much finer and more flavourful because it's milky and creamy instead of ice. No coarse, hard pieces of tasteless frozen water. The toppings are delectable - the highlight might be the cheesecake. The Apple Crumble one is also my fave, it's like a bowl of cereal with milk pimped lol.

I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars because the mains could use improvement, notably the pasta, which wad average and the servings small.

Loveeatingfood
The cheesecake on the bingsu was yummy. Pretty okay meal, not bad. Fried chicken is really big, the skin/batter is good however chicken itself is okay. Pancake was also okay
Van Nguyen
Great atmosphere.
Great place for hangouts.
Great food and tasty ingredients.
I had the durian bingsu.
However, food did not look like the image.

We loved 😍
The Bingsu is very instagrammable and delicious for sharing! Would recommend the chocolate brownie option

We disliked 😖
We ordered the matcha waffle as it was one of the specials. It was disappointing. The waffle was dry and not crispy like we would expect.
Jessica T Nguyen
Been here quiet a few times, their desserts are pretty hit and miss, i feel like they focus more on presentation than the taste. But its not too bad! Their potato gems with bulgogi beef was a bit way too much taste wise. Coffee is ok here too. Not too bad
Eat Good Melbourne
Be.k is a local cafe offering Korean inspired dishes and cafe style food. They also serve up a range of Korean influenced desserts including bingsu (Korean shaved ice dessert). I’ve only tried the dessert here. The fried dough is kind of like a hot apple donut? We also ordered a matcha cake which was very strong in matcha flavour.
Virgil
Had a great first experience. Staff were friendly and it was great service. Great coffee, amazing taro latte and the signature korean donut was incredible! You could hear the crunch when you cut through it and there were assorted nuts in one donut and the other had nutella. Yum!!
Ana Nguyen
The dish I ordered the meat was incredibly dry. Barely any meat gems and cheese. Paid a lot but barely got anything. They overheated the cheese so I had to use so much force to scrap if off from the side. Hospitality wasn’t the best either.
Quynh Le
Best bingsu ever! Loved the cheesecake, durian and taro flavour. Service can take some time but staffs are friendly in general. They also serve hot food which I will definitely try out next time. Nice atmosphere and cute decoration
Vivi Hiew
Their signature Korean Donut is overcooked and the staff was mopped and sweep the floor while the customer have their meal. Seriously, won't come here for second time.
NothingButTruth
Been here a few times. Waitress/waiters are a hit and miss. Their home roasted coffees are great and that’s why I keep coming back! Also a little on the pricey side!
Whalesfoodadventure
Ordered the mango and banana bingsu. Absolutely amazing. Especially the mango syrup to pour over the shaved ice. Fresh mango and banana. So much flavour. Ice cream also tasted great. Only down side was it did take a while to come out
Gina Tran
Received an ice coffee which was half full, complained an was told “that’s how it is”. Rude customer service and staff. I do not recommend this place, conveniently there is a place across the road called Dessert By Night which is levels better in quality and service.
ALICE ⚡️
Be.K has to be one of my go to dessert spots being right around the corner from work it’s so fun to catch up with the girls over bingsu! Major downside would be that it’s really busy and sometimes it takes over half an hour for the food to come out
Michi Mort
This place is usually busy, understandable that the service is slow but they forgot our order for taro and took a total 35mins to come out. No apology for forgetting our order and just said it's coming it's coming in a rude manner..judt needs better customer service. Bingsu was good, customer service was a let down.
Just Your Average Foodie
Ordered 3 dishes, only two came out and waited 20 minutes for the third one. (Keep in mind the 3rd dish was a shaved ice) Complained once and the person at the counter said ours should be next, 10 minutes later, 5 other shave ices have come out so we complain again asking for a refund, they apologise once again and they say it is coming next then we see 3 others come out within the next 5 minutes. Like if ours isn’t ready anytime soon just give us our refund and don’t lie to the customers. Would never go again
Jack Lawrence
Pretty cool place in Maidstone. Staff are friendly and the food is quite good. Very busy and sometimes you need to wait. I usually come here for the bingsu and its great. This time i ordered the beef ribs with noodles. Not sure if its supposed to be served cold?? Noodles are like 2 minute noodles and the beef ribs were warm. Tasted ok though I'd never order it again. Would recommend bingsu and the fried chicken
Food Is A Blessing
Presentation is good but the desserts we ordered had very basic taste. Nothing special. The egg waffle is dry. The belgian waffle didn’t look like the one on their menu.
Zainab A
I ordered the Apple Pie French Bread. If you have a big sweet tooth, you’ll like this unique dessert.

The bread tastes like a croissant, it’s crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. It’s topped with vanilla ice cream, caramelised apples, apple chips and a sweet caramel apple sauce.
TheyCallHimX
Finally got to try out this newly opened place at Edgewater. Looked a lot bigger from the outside. Seats were pretty small, but should be fine in a small group. Won't recommend for a huge group.

Food was actually pretty solid for the most part. Triple cheese burger was so nice. Meat cooked well and soft bun with three different cheeses. Would go back just for the burger.

Can be waiting a while for food when it's busy though, so just a heads up. Haven't tried their desserts yet.
Shutoutof-paradise
3.5/5

My friend had the matcha Bingsu and she thoroughly enjoyed it, especially the filling inside the shaved ice cream which she mentioned isn’t very common in bingsu. She rates the matcha bingsu a 10/10.

I had the matcha panna cotta with green tea ice cream and my experience was the quite the opposite. The panna cotta didn’t have much taste to it and tasted a little bland. The macarons were stale and the green tea ice cream seemed way too frozen where it didn’t have that smooth texture of normal ice cream.

The presentation of the desserts were really well done. I’d go back to taste the bingsu and other items on their menu but would not go back for the panna cotta.

Regarding the ambience of Be.K, it is a really nice place with wooden, timber seatings and tables. We were sitting next to the window near the back of the cafe and from there the place seemed to lack ventilation and it got very warm, although it being just 20 degrees outside. Staff were very friendly and our food came quite quick since it wasn’t that busy for a Wednesday arvo.

Interesting place set in the Edgewater pocket near Maribyrnong.. we had the matcha & yam bingsu.. I love the matcha bingsu which was topped with matcha ice cream, matcha cheese cake, red bean & some crispy almond flakes.. this combination taste good.. however the yam bingsu not as nice, the yam pieces was a bit undercooked and didn’t have as much toppings.. the bingsu portion is quite small given to the price.. it did have an extensive Korean menu..

Got the shaved durian dessert! Only gave them a 4 star because we could have gotten more condensed milk with our dessert! But otherwise, a very happy customer!
WestieFoodie
I rate this 1 star because of the service we experience tonight!
The restaurant is not that busy when we walked in at 8:45pm. My friend ordered an egg waffle and we been sitting there for 45 minutes and she has not has it yet! We asked around 9:15pm and was told it takes about 15 minutes to be done (provided that it has been more than 20 minutes since we ordered it)
We talked for another 15 minutes and at 9:45pm it is still not ready. My friend was upset and told one of the waitress that she has been waiting for too long so she does not want it anymore and want her money back. ONLY THEN the waffle starts to come out! What kind of service is this? And the waiter brought it to another table came after us!
My friend got NO APOLOGY from the waitress! How rude! WILL NEVER COME BACK!
You need to up your game! And this is the second time it happens to my friend, last time we waited ages for our order as well, provided that there’re about 6 people working!
Tran
Love the bingsu here, had the strawberry and cheesecake!
Refreshing, flavoursome and not overly sweet, demolished it. It was great to see they werent stingy on the fruit in the bowl. Everything just went well together. However, the cheesecake was too dense for my liking.

- kimchi nachos were yum, light. Good combination, kimchi tasted good. Give this a definite thumbs up.
- bulgogi potato gems were too oily for my likings cause i felt so crap after, but tasted okay.

- friendly staff and decent prices.
Would definitely come back!
Evan
Poor customer service!! Ask for shaved ice top up and willing to pay extra for it but staff didn’t even want to accomodate “no one has ever asked and we don’t do that”, the staff said . Well you operate in the food & beverage business, be flexible!! To be honest this left a bad taste and i used to go here all the time but i won’t be back!!
Tori Dibben
Very cute looking food. I enjoyed my panna cotta, it was what i excepted, alot of Matcha. My partner thought that the flavours on his dessert were a little too soft, he'd like a more stronger durian flavour. We also shared the bulgogi potato gems and we both loved them! Defs coming back for me!

Visited Be.k on a late Thursday evening for dessert. We chose the soybean and nut bingsu with matcha cheesecake. The bingsu was delicious - great range of flavours and textures. Loved the additional matcha cheesecake too!

I never knew about Edgewater Boulevard but there seems to be a few good restaurants in this district that I'll have to revisit. There's also plenty of parking nearby at ALDI. It was packed, with inside and outside seating, a nice ambience, and plenty of menu options for everyone.
🥰🥰🥰
This place was better than I thought it was, the korean noodles tasted amazing and also the mango cheesecake bingsu tasted delicious. Though the wait was abit long, the food was really worth it! Definitely will come again.

Not my first visit here. Always like the food and today was no exception (other than forgetting to ask for no onions). ‘Vegetable pancake toastie’ was as described, a selection of sautéed veg on an omelette, enclosed in 2 slices of melted cheese-coated toast. My dining companion had the avo and bacon on toast with mushrooms. It matched the picture when it came out with two neat rows of five mushrooms. We were happy to see that for once a cafe/restaurant is thoughtful enough to provide a steak knife for those pesky artisan bread super-crusts.
While waiting for our breakfast to arrive spent some time drooling over the expanded dinner and dessert menu and will definitely make a trip back for lunch and/or dinner as we have earmarked at least 5 dishes each to try.

My only complaint is that I can no longer order the non-breakfast items before 11am. As a night shift worker of 10+ years I like to be able to order things other than breakfast (especially as the veg items are usually poached egg with avo/mushie or pancake/French toast. I’m really going to miss the aglio olio pasta *violins playing*

Quiet on a Sunday morning so expected quick service. Ordered a matcha lava cake- understood this would take longer, which it did, plus red velvet pancakes. Matcha lava cake was nice although matcha ice cream was very subtle. Red velvet pancake took longer to arrive than lava cake but was inedible- rubbery, no flavour of red velvet and just not nice. Nothing like how a pancake should be.Only ok thing was the berry garnish. Left it uneaten art from 2 bites (one from me and one from friend) and no comment from staff.
people who came in after is got their food before us. Not sure why they were so lucky!

2.5 stars ⭐️ So excited to try this Korean place that got rated highly on Zomato, the fact that they allow table booking for our large group with young kids is a huge plus. However here is where all the excitement somewhat ends.

Service:
1) the service is somewhat clueless. We received menus and flagged the waitstaff down when we were ready to order. She said no worries, please wait a sec after waiting for a few minutes she came back and told us we have to order and pay at the counter?! Why couldn’t she just tell us that when we flag her down?
2) we order coffees. The kids were at one end of the table and the adults are on the other. She tried to put the coffees down on the kids end of the table. Mind you the kids are 2-5 years of age. Probably won’t be drinking coffee.
3) we ordered this noodle soup in a boiling iron clad pot. Once again tried to put it in front of the 2 yr old kid. Hrm 🤔
4) the food took a long time. Thank goodness it came. Cos the other table didn’t get their food at all.

Food:
1) the Kim chi tofu noodle soup tasted a bit weird, and the noodles were a bit soggy
2) we ordered a whole chicken and ask whether we can have half and half flavours. She said yes but then charged us 2x half chicken which is more exxy than one whole chicken. Anyway, the spy & garlic one was really really good, the original was a bit dry.
3) the beef ribs w rice and sunny egg was mediocre. The beef ribs had this weird aftertaste of not super fresh meat ☹️
4) matcha bing soo: it was ok but not amazing. The dessert consists of green tea ice cream, 🍨 red bean, cheesecake, almond crunch and shaved ice 🍧. The ice was not powdery, they don’t put enough syrup in between layers, although they do supply syrup. The ice cream was rock hard, so much so we couldn’t really eat it for a long time, but the cheesecake and almond crunch was good.

I suppose at least we finish off ok, just a bit disappointed at how they got more than 4 stars tbh.

Be.k is a café and dessert parlour with an influence from Korean cuisine.
The design is modern and clean, with spacious indoor and outdoor seating.
They do have café classics for breakfast and lunch…or, ”brunch” if you will, but I opted for the much-loved Korean ice dessert bingsu.
The base ice is very finely shaved, creating a snowy, fluffy texture which melts in your mouth.

* Mango & Banana Bingsu – fresh slices of banana and mango topped with a vanilla ice cream and a bit of mango syrup. Very nice and refreshing.
* Apple Cinnamon Crumble Bingsu – loaded with crunchy crumble, almond flakes and caramelised apple. Great textures going on with this one.
Linda
Pros: creative and presentable deserts. The shaved icecream was nice and creamy. The kumquat yoghurt bubble tea is a unique burst of flavour, recommend to try!

Cons: the creme brulee was average, it lacked that 'eggy taste' and was a bit too thick.
Sue Wong
So grateful that we stumbled across Be.k! Friendly service accompanies an delightful menu that caters to an array of different tastes.

My partner and I shared a half serve of sweet and spicy fried chicken, alongside kimchi tofu soup. Highly recommend their Signature Korean Fried Donuts!

The ample space out front is pet friendly and there are plenty of carparks. Can’t wait to go back!

Ordered creme brûlée, chocolate brownie, cookies and cream shake, oolong tea machiato. presentation was great, staff were too busy to really cater to us. A 1cm high creme brûlée is really not satisfactory. brownie was dry, oolong tea was super bland and the cookies and cream shake was 80% ice. they also moved our party of 4 people during our visit to a small 2 seater table to fit another 4 customers. Feel like I really got ripped off With tiny proportions, watered down drinks and bad servicing.

Served very very bad, the waiter slammed the menu on the table like he did not want us to dine in the restaurant. get out of here.
I don't think I will be back here

My new favorite dessert place! Perfect for a cozy night out. I couldn’t stop shoving my face with the snow desert. The sauce was perfect with the cheekcake bits. I also enjoyed the Nutella French toast. No where near as heavy as I expected. Please... I need to fit into my shorts in summer 😅

Based on coffee only this place was nice. The coffee was tasty and the venue clean with plenty of seating inside and out. Good selections of cakes and savoury options too.

this place is okay. i don’t understand the hype... maybe it’s because its difficult to find bingsu in melbourne. the (old) staff here are very rude. the chicken we were given was RAW. and when we told them, they were angry at us. for what??? the woman then put the chicken back in the fryer and then gave it to us. it was dripping in oil and the flavour was no longer there. the bingsu here is not that good either, but i understand those who haven’t really had “real” bingsu because it‘s not that bad here although it is overpriced. the drinks here are good, atmosphere is nice and the YOUNG staff here are very welcoming and kind. the older adults however, should respect their customers. this isn’t a place that i would like to return to, but it is a place you could have cravings for. other than that, the store is very clean and does not smell of durian strongly when they are preparing the bingsu with it.

This place is relatively new but I saw it had amazing reviews so decided to check it out & man, it was GOOOD! I was most impressed by the number of Korean people eating there as I’ve always said that if it’s full of the culture it represents then it’s a good sign of authenticity & this place definitely is. We went for dessert and will be going back for fried chicken! It does get very busy and has limited inside seating but it’s well worth the little bit of quish. Highly recommend!

Came out here to review, before ordering food I ordered two coffees came out luke warm, and second coffee came out 20 minutes later (no exaggeration) after 4 other people had come and already got there coffees and left. I decided not to review it that day as obviously must’ve been having a bad day, decided to go back two weeks later, i waited over 3 minutes for the lady to serve me as she was doing her own thing, I ordered a soy iced latte and saw a charge of $2 I asked what was it for and they said it was for the soy. Never in my life have I EVER seen any restaurant or cafe, fine dining or casual charge $2 for soy milk. Absolutely ridiculous, I cancelled the soy and went across the road to dessert by night. Overcharging customer, not paying attention to order times, unprofessional, will not be back.

2.5/5
Be.k was very busy when I came. It’s a small restaurant located near Aldi in Maribyrnong. It has a good variety of savory and sweet dishes catering for asian & non-asian cusine. It’s great for a late bite for the locals. I ordered the kimchi tofu soup for $10.90. When it came out, I understood why the soup was $10.90. It was basically emergency food I make at home; a small packet of instant noodles, a cracked egg, silken tofu, mushrooms & kimchi. It’s not the standard of soup I would dine out for. Service was friendly.

Went here for my birthday - I don’t necessarily think their fusions always work.

The kimchi tofu soup tasted bland and like it had been made using instant noodles, and I would strongly advise not to have their Korean fried chicken - the parts of the chicken used are very bony - not the ideal parts of the chicken. It’s also cut very oddly, so they’re quite large parts of chicken that isn’t really what you think of when you think of chicken and beer. The way it’s been cooked means the bones come off with the skin so I’d watch out for that. The flavour is too strong in all the wrong ways.

I liked their potato gems (can’t go wrong with that) and the japchae is full of veggie and meat. I think their pride is their shaved ice dessert and that was absolutely delicious. The ice was soft and creamy and the mango and cheesecake was delicious! I’d suggest going here for dessert but not necessarily for the main course.

Be.k has a chill, modern vibe to it upon walking in. The interior has a simple, cute look to it which I love!

Food: 4/5!

This is my second time getting the french toast which i absolutely love! Nothing I can fault besides the toast could potentially be slightly crispier along the outside.

The matcha fondant was also delicious!

The bingsu was most disappointing of all the dishes, lacking in sauce given to pour atop, i dessert i unfortunately would not recommend.

Service: 2/5
Service is definitely what drove the rating down. Unfortunately both consecutive times i’ve dined here, the dishes take a very long time to come out. Both times i received 1 of my dishes and finished eating it, afterwards waiting another 10-20 minutes in addition to repeatedly asking when my dish would be coming.
In addition both visits i’ve witnessed staff eating the food they put on the plate (biscuits, small sweets etc), whilst plating customers dishes, very unprofessional and unappetising to see.

Overall i would recommend stopping by here for some dessert because they are really yummy! (minus the bingsu)

Nice local dessert place in the western suburbs. Bingsu is all I order here, love the matcha Bingsu and mango cheesecake Bingsu. I’m a regular here as I live around the area and noticed the Bingsu is different every time I come. Sometimes I will get icecream on top of my Bingsu, sometimes I’ll get an ice cream stick? They’re not very consistent with what they advertise on the menu but nevertheless, I still come back because who doesn’t love Bingsu.

My favourite cafe, has the best selection of bingsu I've ever seen in Melbourne! All the dishes are great quality and not to mention how affordable everything is, love it!

Awesome food. We ordered Mango Bingsu, with cheesecake. Ice melts in the mouth! The chicken served were freshly cooked and very tasty. Staff are very friendly.

Went out on a planned dessert night to try the bingsu and korean donut (ended up buying the fried chicken as well). Bingsu met all expectations of light, fluffy textured ice mixed in, and topped with various complementing ingredients. The korean donut dish included grains and nutella filled donuts that were a little too sweet but certainly tasty.

Plenty of space for my group during the busy hours at night. Even in the cold weather you can dine outside on one of the many outdoor tables near an outdoor heater but we opted to stay inside the cosy restaurant.

Will be back to try their one of their french toasts!

We've been wanting to try the desserts here after seeing all the good reviews and photos.

For a Sunday night the place was pretty busy. The resto is not very big but warm and inviting with a timber and natural themed decor.

We ordered the matcha milk tea and donut. The milk tea was served ice blended as most of the other drinks that we observed. This was also topped with coconut milk which was novel but tasted a bit offbeat. After waiting an hour for the donut we dug into the dessert. One donut was filled with nutella and the other a mix of nuts and seeds encrust with a hot fluffy dugh and dressed with a light caramel topping. Overall our meal appealed aesthetically but the long wait has left us a bit flat and although it was nice it didn't wow us.

Been here a few times but only tried their desserts, today we came for dinner. Overall is ok, I have to say that the table is too small and it’s not comfortable to fit in our family of 4. We have to squeeze into a small table and it’s making it very uncomfortable for us to eat.
Eat. Sleep. Create. Repeat.
Nature setting, use timber well. Lots of different food to choose, desert has a rich mix of favour. Quite busy during my visit. Food preparation a little slow.

OMFG the best chicken burger I have ever tasted. I’m spreading the word on how great this place is. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere. But the food is a truly religious experience. They deserve more then 5⭐️

One of those places where your eyes scan the menu and the potential damage to the wallet, and your mind and stomach wonders “What should I order that will give great value” and then you taste the heavenly light, fluffy bingsu dessert with ice shaved so fine that you could mistake it for snow, and all your troubles and inhibitions melt away! No dessert quite like it......Worth every cent and will be back

😱Lizzie’s first impression: A cute dessert place that opened up in Maribyrnong not long ago.

🍩Lizzie enjoyed: I loved the concept of the hotteok which is a Korean filled donut - except the twist was that it was filled with Nutella instead of the traditional red bean. The mango sulbing was good and flavoursome.

🍅Lizzie did not enjoy: The hotteok was yummy but the donut itself wasn’t crispy or crunchy unfortunately. I also didn’t enjoy the tiramisu that much and definitely wasn’t worth the price.

🥇Lizzie rates overall: A great place for dessert but probably not driving all the way here just for it.

I always come back for the bingsu. They serve the best bingsu that I have tasted. I recommend the Mango Cheesecake, Mango Banana and the Banana Nutella ones.
Rachael
The Bingsu was very soft and fluffy, enjoyed the toppings. Especially the Oreo bits, unfortunately the brownies were stale and not very chewy which brought down the dish. Accompanying drink- tiramisu with pearls was unremarkable and over priced

Wow you can smell their freshly roasted beans from far away and I love their Korean style food and they do the best Korean fried chicken in the West I believe. Be.k is now my favorite brunch spot

We had dessert on a Friday night. Started to get busy as we sat down around 8. We ordered the thick toast which was OK and a bit dry but flavour was good. They have a good range of shaved ice (bingsu) and Asian modern dessert, also have Korean fried chicken. I also like how they have a wide range of drinks including tea, coffee and fancy iced tea, soda etc. a bit pricey though! I couldn't help but noticed the place is a bit small with tables right next to each other, wasn't too comfy and the staff seemed busy and a bit rush. Overall, a good start for the West but I look forward to some improvement as I can see good potential here.

What a great find in maribyrnong. Love the bingsu and their other korean style food. Best of all i love how they roast their coffee. Highly recommened

Tried Be.k with my wife on a cold Wed night, it was busy from the moment we walked in to this vibrant modern cafe. I started with the Pork Belly sandwich then followed by Korean Fried Chicken and squid salad, the three where both succulent and perfectly cooked. All our dishes had perfect seasoning and amazing well balanced sauces and dressings. I look forward to further exploring the menu at this modern well serviced venue.
Keep up the great work Be.k

Nice desserts, quite a few variety in drinks and sweets that you can order. Ive only been here once and orders the Oolong Tea drink as well as a crepe cake. Both tasted great.
Noms
A very warm and cozy place for some delicious desserts and definitely for a filling brunch session! Only down side was the hardstyle music playing aloud... wasn't suitable considering the age brackets that were dining in. Another tip to work on is the hygiene of their cutlery and plates? Cutlery and plates were actually still dirty and wet.. and also found some fuzzy green thing in my steak philly sandwich... Higher attention to detail could definitely improve the experience of other customers for the future. Other than that, I enjoyed my food.

Does well for desserts and thoroughly enjoyed their mango and banana bingsu. Service can be good but slow especially when it comes to savoury food

Usually I love coming to this place. It used to be one of my favourite dessert places on the west side but today was a literal waste of my time. Customer service was beyond lacking. Server forgot to bring menus after saying he would. We then waited more than half an hour for the strawberry milk bingsu and matcha green tea. The place itself wasn't particularly busy so there was no excuse for such a long wait. This heavily ruined the mood, I didn't even want to remain in the vicinity to finish everything.

We were here last week as well and everything was significantly better. The food and the service was amazing even with it being significantly busier. Today really changed my opinion and I am thoroughly disappointed.

An extensive range of korean and vietnamese dishes as well as desserts. Indoor and outdoor searing.

Korean snowy cheese fried chicken - dusted with snowy cheese and crisp batter with herbs. The chicken is juicy but sound be better if it c were less watery.

Hot stone pot bimbibap - generous amount of beef with crisp rice initially. The beef itself is overdosed with sauce making the dish soggy.

Vietnamese cuppacino bingsu - thin shaved ice. The dessert is very topped with coffee jelly, brittle, chocolate. The icecream is solid.

Taro bingsu is good. Slightly plain but love the cream. The brittle and coconut slces are great.

The korean donut was impressive. Sweet, crisp and the nutella spreads well when cut.

Sticky pork ribs - dry meat and the cheese os extremely oily. The cheese is all stuck on the pan.

Overall, only the bingsu was impressive.

An abundant selection of desserts and savory items on the menu. We ordered the The Nutella and Strawberry French Bread and it was delicious. The bread was soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. The Taro Latte was perfect - not too sweet, not too bland. A great place for desserts and catch ups.
