Review Ginger Japanese Restaurant - Maroochydore

The dish is with big volume. I love soft shell crab. But when it’s fried as a whole it is a bit scary. And the sushi rolls is a little bit expensive. It was 17.5 for the prawn roll. Taste good tho with great wasabi. I live the green tea and chocolate tower. It’s huge. Good restaurant overall.

The grilled scallops were too fresh and under cooked…Perfect! Octopus ok, Ginger name sake Pork belly melted in my chopsticks Could stock big bottles of sake for party sharing I’ll be back

This place is brilliant. The food is very tasty, the service was great as well. And $2 ph corkage for BYO wine. The staffer was the cook and the waiter! It was a quiet Sunday lunch though. Will be back.

This place was a suggestion from a friend and it didn’t disappoint! We had the banquet menu and it was great value, a feast for the eyes, well paced, service was quick and meals? - delicious! The restaurant is compact and can be loud but was still a great night and fantastic meal. Will definitely return and recommend 👍🙏

This is just fabulous place to eat. Try the soft shell crabs, my favourite. Also try the cloudy sake it is a treat. The staff are lovely. You never get a bad meal n the price is reasonable

We have been going to this restaurant for about 2 years and are always impressed with how good the food is. And today-the owner lady approached us saying, this is your umbrella that you left behind on your last visit 2 months ago. She remembered that it was us who left it behind. It was our son’s special umbrella! So, thank you so much!

I feel so lucky that this restaurant is located near where I live. We frequent this restaurant most weeks and have tried most items on the menu. Our favourite dishes are the agedashi tofu and poke bowl. Their spicy endamame is also on another level! The meal sizes are really generous, especially with the sushi and sashimi. 🐠 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️. The quality is always consistent.

Extremely disappointing service. Arrogant attitude from the floor waitress who wasn’t willing to help us move tables after it started raining as we were seated outside. After being persistent, we eventually moved to a table of 3 inside, there was 4 of us. Asked for another chair from another table and was told they were reserved. My son walked outside feeling awkward standing while we were seated. Had to wait well over 1 hour & 20 minutes to even start getting our meals, even then it was just our miso soup. We all ate separately as none of the meals came out together. Finally got our drinks after being halfway thru our meal.. Not overly impressed with the food at all. The pork was really dry and the sashimi was cut so unnecessarily thick. Just wanted to have a quick nice meal but it was anything but. Will never go again!

On par, if not better then the iwasaki jap restaurant at Rydges resort In Yeppoon. And not a 1/3 the price. I've lived all over Queensland and NSW and been to many eateries. This is best jap food I've ever had. If I end up on death row. Gingers my last meal request.

Food was fresh and tasted delicious! Portion sizes were very generous and staff were friendly and efficient. Would highly recommend!

What a find! Some of the best Japanese dishes that I love. Squeaky fresh sashimi, best Gyoza I've had, tempura vege stack and Udon soups......BYO and much much more. Nice ambience and friendly staff. 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Loved it!

Took ages to get the food BUT vibrant atmosphere, sen-bloody-sational food, and BYO like a boss.

Terrible customer service. Waited an hour for one main to come out and not the other. Decided to just cancel the order and leave. Will not be back.

We were really looking forward to trying Ginger after I'd heard all the hoo-harr from colleagues & friends so we booked a table for 4 for my son's 18th birthday a couple of weeks ago with much anticipation. Having eaten Japanese food for several decades in JPN & all around the world I'm au fait with the landscape, however our visit was marred by a couple of things which Ginger should really have been well on top of. Starters - edamame & takoyaki were fine - (it's very difficult to get edamame or takoyaki wrong anyway), the pork gyoza were exceptionally good - the prawn croquettes fine - except they were the size of cricket balls and cold-ish at the centre - they don't need to be this big - 3 at half the size or elongated would be better to manhandle and to cook/warm up... Mains included 2x shoyu ramen... unduly long wait - after 20 minutes two steaming bowls arrived... only for the noodles to be uncooked and hard. Pop Pop chicken was very good indeed though - 美味い - karaage for pro's... My youngest son had the TeryVery chicken with rice - a pretty good go at rustic izakaya style teryaki - but we could've done without the inclusion of a couple of very long black (human) hairs in that dish. We pointed out both problems immediately and away went the bowls of ramen, to return (again some long time) later as they should've been in the first place - 美味しい. Our server apologised greatly for the other uninvited ingredients - a difficult situation which should never have happened - so I suggested removing that dish from the bill, which they kindly did. I had to depart early so I left our party to finish off, and the staff I gather recovered the mood as well as they could. So, all in all a bit of a mixed experience, but I'm reviewing here as GOOD because the quality of the food by all accounts is, when it happens, just that. Service is attentive without being sucker-like - again fine with me. Will we be back? Yes. Will we have the same challenges next time? I do hope not. Try to pull back on those mains prices please management - $22 for a basic chicken katsu curry is ridiculous - $16 is about right - $18 tops. Entree menu pricing is absolutely spot-on though. On the menu stick to 8 entrees and 12 mains - the starter menu is too big and the mains menu too small. One and a half thumbs-up to Ginger then... To be revisited... :D :D :D

Fantastic feed, BYO and very reasonably priced! Will definitely be back. We had a Birthday celebration for one of our Mummie crew, she had to duck off to soothe her Bub then when she came back they had a suprise dessert waiting for her which said "Happy Birthday". Lovely thought, would highly recommend.
