Review La Canteena - Maroochydore

Awesome beer garden with a great atmosphere. Went back here 2 days in a row because it was a great place to have a drink. Cheap beer specials at certain times and the food and service was great.

The staff were awesome, the food was so good. Margaritas to die for. I've never tasted such a good dish, I'm so looking forward to going back and trying more dishes off the menu. Us girls had a ball, thank you all so much 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

As group of ladies who don’t get out very much passed 8pm at night, we came to eat, drink and celebrate a 49th birthday… after sharing a laugh on our way in, the waitress incorrectly assumed that we were intoxicated (I had not had a single alcoholic drink at all today!!). They were happy to take our money for well over $150 of food orders and then when we went up to order drinks we were told that our table had been refused any alcohol.. whaaaaatt!?!? No one was anywhere near intoxicated….just a bunch of laughing ladies in their 40’s.

Im not one to ever review but this place was so bad on our last experience! Got one order wrong twice in a row and the manager/server got so rude and refused to return it to the kitchen. Had a table with 4 adult's and 3 kids and took 2 hours between first meal to the last! . Was once a good menu with alot of variety but now has minimal decent options for a “mexican” restaurant. All the food items where named in spanish and not one person there knew what i was ordering when telling them my order! Sorry but very unhappy

The service was great! Unfortunately the $18 cocktails were literally the worst I have ever had. They both came out in large whisky tumbler cups, my Pina Colada had so much ice in it there was next to no cocktail in it. My partners strawberry daiquiri had no flavour at all so she left it. Pick up your cocktail game guys... sorry.

Honestly amazing experience! Had the best Pina Colada and classic margarita ever made by Amalie! Lochie made us laugh like crazy and his martinis were my friends favourite. The Fish Tacos and Tostadas were to die for, music was off and very loud. Aside from that i would 100% recommend this restaurant!

A fun and vibrant mexican themed outdoor restaurant.. Hidden down an alleyway on ocean street, this place is worth finding if you like good Mexican food, Frozen margaritas, Buckets of beers and awesome cocktails. Chill vibes, friendly staff and great for larger groups, especially with the Share plates. Tacos, Nachos, Chips & Salsa.. you can’t go wrong! A great feature is each table has a tablet so you can order whenever you like. Would definitely recommend 👌

I was expecting great things from La Canteena but was slightly disappointed. The food is great and well proportioned, it just takes 35-40 mins for the order to arrive at the table. The wait time gave us a chance to enjoy some of the cocktails but even these were only average.....they had all the hallmarks of a good cocktail but the taste was not balanced. On a positive note the $10 Frozen Margarita and share pizzas are a win

Recently visited la canteena for lunch , sat down at table to be greeted by the ground covered in cigarette butts . It was a Sunday so $5 Sunday specials were advertised , I went to grab a $5 cerveza as advertised on the menu and was rudely told by bar staff that’s it’s not on he’s TIL as $5 then was told if I wasn’t happy with the price to give beer back � for a return of money , I ordered my wife a glass of soda water and lime and the glass was disgustingly dirty. I used to love la canteena , but seem to me the cleanliness and the staffs attitude towards customers has gone spiralling down hill . This place needs a good shake up by management �

Very dissapointed! $5 special night was very misleading. The menu stated 2 pieces of tacos for $5 when our meals came we only received 1 taco. We gave the staff a chance to address the issue and they really did not seem to care. I wouldn't of minded as much if the food was good but most of the meals were lacking flavour and the guac & chips were just gross. La Canteena we really need to taco 'bout this! How can you mess up mexican!

How good is this place, congratulations to the person behind creating this restaurant, atmosphere is awesome, food is really good Mexican, if you haven't been this place is a must full stop.

We had a staff Christmas lunch , excellent food, drinks and easy going atmosphere, staff super helpful , love the easy iPad ordering system

Funky, fun and a lil bit fruity. Excellent place to meet up with friends! La Canteena have the lighting & music to a tee, perfect atmosphere (plus the pretty lights make any selfie look super-cool) The mangeress is like Wonder Woman & makes a special effort to keep everyone happy while maintaining a professional relationship. ... now if only they could add a couple of extra toilets..? Certainly won't stop me & my buddies hanging out there though. ... and did I mention the frozen margaritas? Arrriiiba!

I've only had a cocktail here but the service was friendly and quick. the watermelon raspberry margarita is still super refreshing. the decor is really cool too. worth checking out.

The atmosphere is amazing here, it really felt as if I stepped into Mexico. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, the sangria was just perfect and the tacos were to die for! I will definitely be back, again and again.

Terrible service, just got there and asked for a tequila shot, told me to drink water... Was just looking for somewhere fun to go on New Years and they turned me away. Blunt staff. Won’t go there again and won’t pay money for their horrible service.

Food is shit saucless cheeseless, not even close to good Mexican, atmosphere is great and staff are great too,

Requested no coriander on my taco for obvious reasons All they did was chop it up into smaller pieces and attempted (poorly) to hide it in my taco?? Still unsure why the chef had to go so far out of his way to make sure I hated my dinner xx 5 star for the $5 margheritas, that guy playing tenacious D on his guitar, and my handsome date arriba! arriba!��

Wicked food! Wicked atmosphere! Definitely a place everyone need to experience 💚💚💚
