I definitely recommend coming here if you love good vegetarian food. My sandwich was huge and extremely filling. The bread was super soft and I loved the seeds on top.

Located in Marrickville, Two Chaps is a cafe where all dishes including bread and pastries are made from scratch. You can see all the beautiful treats in the front counter such as brioche donuts, tarts and croissants. They take care towards food production and consumption and use local suppliers for their goods. It’s a cafe and bakery by day and selling a set menu by night on the weekends.

Amazing food! I have been a couple of times and every time the quality and quantity of the dishes have been great. My only complaint would be the coffee is a little bland.

Everything is good at Two Chaps! I have been there several times, never been disappointed. This vegeterian cafe is my favorite in Sydney. And I am not even vegeterian. I lived 10years in France, their pain au chocolat is top quality! Well done guys!

I love this place! Hidden away in an alley in Marrickville, it’s always super busy! They are known for their fresh, healthy meal options, particularly offering a range of vegan and vegetarian options. Their menu options are so unique and wholesome, and taste delicious. They also do dinners with rotating pasta and Italian style dishes. Definitely will be back.

Food was great - I recommend the vegetarian burger and the fried potato peels. The place is so cute too. Unfortunately the staff were grumpy and snarky which added some tension to what would’ve been a 5/5 lunch.

So, walking up Chapel Street in Marrickville, this is a really non-descript street, some businesses which look like they’ve been around for a long time, a school, a boxy old office building. And then BAM. There’s a cafe, full, with a line outside of it, buzzing with hipster energy and caffeine. Welcome to Two Chaps, Marrickville on a Sunday morning.

Coffee was really good! I am passionate about food and I like opened kitchen's cafes. They are actually serving good quality food. They know what they are doing.Congrats chefs!
Service was excellent, the waitress helped me with the menu. I recommend this place

Two Chaps is located in what looks like someone's garage, with a from-scratch cooking philosophy serving up antipasti and pasta to friendly locals. So far, so Marrickville. However this place is worth the trip, with house-made grissini accompanying pickled vegetables and hummus, delicious pastas such as pillow-soft ricotta ravioli, and a few stand out desserts such as olive oil cake or tahini ice-cream sandwich. The menu changes weekly apparently, which is a sure-fire way to keep the crowds coming back. With a $55 set menu, it's some of the best value going around. Highly recommend.

It had been a while since I had the luxury of sitting at a forty five degree angle on a wobbly wooden bench while enjoying my lunch, so a visit to Marrickville local favourite ‘Two Chaps’ sorted that particular hole in my calendar right out. If you’re not aware of ‘Two Chaps’, they’re also the chaps behind Pizza Madre. Whoever these ‘Chaps’ are, they don’t mess around with their Coffee (or bread!). It feels like I’ve already written the word ‘Chaps’ more than the product description copywriter of a fetish clothing retailer, but I digress.

I dined here on a Sunday for brunch with a friend. The place was very busy so we waited about 30 minutes for a table but we didn't mind. Once inside, we were seated along the bar where you could watch the food being prepared.  I had my usual soy hot chocolate and the hash browns with two poached eggs, asparagus and a green chimmichurri style sauce. I really enjoyed the hash browns, they were crispy on the outside with a soft, flaky inside. The poached eggs were perfect with runny centres and served as a great complement to the green sauce on the bottom of the plate. I usually don't eat asparagus but it will lightly grilled and mixed in very well with all the other flavours on the plate so I completely demolished it. I would definitely give this place a try if you're in the area however don't be deterred by the wait time for a table. Oh and ps, they make some delightful doughnuts!!!

Putting the quint into quintessential Marrickville. Super healthy hipster organic menu with food exploding with flavour. I struggled a little wth being charged $3 for a piece of their home baked sourdough bread but actually it was totally worth it. Just the best bread. trying to be my best self I ordered the seasonal salad and it was delicious - fresh greens practically springing off the plate, and a great balance of flavours. Sunday lunch at Two Chaps followed by a stroll to the organic markets, what's not to love!

This review is for the night menu.

Pastas are the standout, they do rotate from week to week but aren’t really too different. Antipasto and dessert all tasty but pastas better.

Worth a trip into the inner west to try at least once.

Thoughts running through my head as I approached Two Chaps for a girls’ breakfast on a Saturday morning: what a random location (a fairly industrial street), thank goodness there’s easy street parking near by, and wow, look at all those people queuing outside the cafe!

Luckily, the wait wasn’t as long as I anticipated – we got there at about 9:30 and were seated by about 9:45 at a table right under the heater (yay, warmth!). The first thing I noticed was the pastry cabinet – oh my goodness, do they have a great range of pastries. Everything from finger buns (which I’m so going back to get next time!) to donuts to croissants to tarts. To solve our dilemma of choosing between a savoury (hearty!) breakfast and these beautiful sweets, we opted to get a savoury breakfast each and then share a few pastries.

By a “few pastries”, we got 3 pastries between the 5 of us (well 4 of us if you exclude one of my dining companions who was gluten free). I loved loved loved the rhubarb jam donut. That thick rhubarb jam was the perfect balance between sweet and tart and I loved how strongly the rhubarb flavour came across. The galette and the burnt butter choc chip cookie were also really nice but not something I could eat in large doses – that jam donut on the other hand, I could easily not have shared that…

A warm setting with attentive service and unique menu, Two Chaps is a great guilt-free brunch option for a lazy Sunday in Marrickville. I ordered the corn sourdough crumpets with semi-dried tomato, rocket, cultured goat’s milk yoghurt and fermented tomato salsa, while my partner ordered the hash browns, sautéed snake beans and rainbow chard, green goddess sauce and poached eggs. The crumpets were light but satisfying, the yoghurt adding a nice tang while the greens helped to keep things fresh. The hash browns had that crunch we all hope for, and the goddess sauce a perfect accompaniment. Watch your step as you leave as your eyes will be locked on the sweets cabinet.

Two Chaps is a superb café in the heart of Marrickville, where on any given weekend day you'll be sure to spot a queue out the door. The menu is produce-driven, with a focus on making everything in-house, the menu also happens to be vegetarian. The coffee at Two Chaps is roasted nearby at The Blind coffee roasters. Two Chaps are also famous for their delicious sticky chai tea which I've tried numerous times at many market stall pop-ups.

For lunch I had the special of the day - The "Bruschetta" - Sourdough slice with pumpkin and baked ricotta hummus with garlic fried field mushrooms topped with arugula, pumpkin seeds and walnuts (4/5): The pumpkin hummus was the highlight! It was a beautiful pumpkin flavour seasoned with slightly savoury ricotta that was so creamy and even creamier when eaten with the mushrooms. The sourdough tasted fresh and soft in the middle but crispy on the edges - just the way it should be! We didn't need to add any salt & pepper because it was just delightful the way it was. There was one slice of sourdough but it was a generous slice that could easily be a main dish for 1 person or entree for 2.

Hash browns (3.5/5): The hash browns were very crispy and texture was nicely fluffed on the inside but there was nothing that stood out too much about these hash brown balls. They were a great side dish and the mayo on the side complimented it well but it was nothing out of the ordinary.

The Fried Rice (4/5): This was a great modern/western twist on an Asian dish. The brown rice was cooked well and seasoned well with soy sauce but I couldn't really taste the ginger and chilli too much (it wasn't chilli at all but my chilli metre is quite high!). The fried eggs went well with the rice. A good main dish but I definitely preferred the bruschetta.

The hash brown can be summed up in one word. Glorious. A crisp and golden brown exterior surrounds a squat but generous amount of potato. For twenty bucks you score two hash browns with two poached eggs, spears of tender grilled asparagus and a puddle of green goddess sauce (a herby mayonnaise dressing).

I had the hash browns and poached eggs with a nice green sauce, which was really good!!!! My brother got the fried rice bowl and it was amazing, has a really nice kick to it (would 100% recommend). Personally, the French toast is nice but a bit heavy and sweet for the morning. Coffee is good here.

Service was ok. We went on a Sunday at 9am and it was pretty packed already.

We came here for coffee as the kitchen had just closed. They have a very extensive coffee menu and a wide variety of cakes and pastries. Everyone I was with got iced coffees and I got the beetroot hot chocolate out of curiosity. It was different but nice and worth giving a go, if just once as you could really taste the beetroot combine with the chocolate.

The first time I went here we had to wait for 45 minutes for a seat, and then another half an hour for our food. The second time I went here we were seated immediately and got our food within fifteen minutes. Both times we went around midday on a Saturday so I suppose it's luck of the draw.

The second time I went here with my partner we got the fried rice and the hash browns with the green goddess sauce. The fried rice came with two fried eggs and was savoury and flavourful (punch of chilli and ginger) and the rice soaked up the yolks wonderfully. The hash browns seem to be mashed potatoes which have then been baked and have a crispy outer shell, so the inside is much fluffier than I am used to with has browns (this is a good thing). The sauce that came with the hash browns was light and minty and wonderful. However the hash browns weren't as good at soaking up the egg yolks. Both dishes were very tasty though.

My partner is a bit of a coffee snob (I'm not) and was very excited by the batch brew and said that the coffee was very very high quality. Having said that I got a homemade lemonade that I would very much recommend, was sweet and refreshing and tart.

It is pricey for a brunch (both our mains were $20, plus we got drinks) but the food is wonderful and the serving sizes are big enough.

If you're willing to maybe wait and are happy to pay for the food I could not recommend it enough and I will be returning.

(Also they do not serve meat, however the food is so wonderful I can't imagine even the most carnivorous complaining about the menu)

Two Chaps has done it again! A recent change in menu has seen them get rid of an old list of our favourite for an even better delightful burst of flavours.

Order both the sweet and savoury crumpets, as well as the French toast. All had a fantastic combination of flavours that tickled the senses. Coffee was great! Would definitely suggest if you're in the neighbourhood.

Two chaps is by far doing one of the best jobs at cafe hospitality in sydney. Negative reviewers are clearly out of their depth in terms of food and coffee knowledge! If you don't speak the language of food and hospitality keep it to yourselves! Also go back to McDonald's and make your crappy, uninforming, negative and waaay off the mark insults! I've eaten here a bunch of times and the thought, energy and integrity put into this food is few and far between! I'm am truly appalled and angered by some of these reviews! Do not listen people! Any more than you would listen to a butcher tell you how to fix a car!

A cute cafe that does delicious donuts, cake and coffee. I thought I would try the pasta night. I love fresh pasta, so was wringing my trunk in anticipation all day. Came for the 8pm sitting and had to wait ~20mins for the 6pm diners to clear out 😐 we got the set menu, and whilst the entrees, pastas and desserts were all quite nice, nothing there had me wanting to go back. As a coffee sweet-treat local though, this is one of Marrickville's best, 3.5 trumpets out of 5 🐘🎺

Another café that was located in a warehouse in Marrickville. Extremely busy on the weekend and I had to wait a solid 10 minutes before getting a seat on the bar along the kitchen. Atmosphere was bustling, warm and noisy. Lively, crowded and tight fit will be best three words to describe this cafe. Service was good and fast despite how busy it was.

Latte was good and strong. It was nice that it came in a cast iron teapot, I tried my friend’s chai latte and it spicy as it should be but I didn’t like the turmeric. I liked how the entire burger was black to match the black beans. I enjoyed it thoroughly but the patty began disintegrating as I work through it. The flavour weren’t not special but never did I think a vegetarian burger will taste this good. Potato skins were not wasted and served up with the burger as the side. I tried my friend’s hash brown, the flavour weren’t surprising but it was well made. Not too greasy and perfectly seasoned. The food was good but the location and interior were sub-par. Would recommend people to try it if nearby.

Good piccolo, modestly priced brunch, the hash browns were delicious. The lack of meat is compensated for with generous servings of cheese and eggs. Poached eggs were cooked perfectly, nice and soft with that gold yolk overflowing when pieced with the knife. Classic garage style inner west cafe.

Marrickville is populated with a plethora of great little cafes, with some hidden local gems. Two Chaps is one such cafe. Located down the road from the Henson Hotel, it's set up in what almost looks like a garage and is easy to miss if you weren't looking. There's a couple of crates and makeshift tables set up outside, and old school chairs are pulled up at wooden tables in the small cafe with warm, exposed brick walls. Love their food philosophy; they offer an ever changing seasonal menu with everything made from scratch, including breads baked on-site.

All four meals ordered were simply and beautifully presented, but more importantly, delicious. My chia brekkie bowl with black sesame, mango, fresh coconut, coconut yoghurt and rhubarb jam was a generous serving of tropical bliss, and the turmeric, ginger and almond milk latte with raw honey a robust alternative to coffee.

Service is welcoming and unobtrusive. My only complaint would be that the cafe needs to be bigger to cater for demand! We arrived at 9.30am mid week and the place was full by 10am. Try it and you'll see why.

Had the pleasure of going to Two Chaps this week for its dinner service. There were three pastas on offer (all vegetarian, and one could be made vegan) - one with a smoked tomato, basil and chilli passata, one with gnocchi and broad bean, and a beetroot and ricotta ravioli with a lemon and walnut topping. All were delicious - fresh, tasty and light. The best part was the friendly, homey atmosphere and excellent service from the staff. Recommended!

One of our favourite inner west spots - consistently excellent in the food and coffee department and a spot we always bring visitors to! Their menu is always changing and is meat free (but you won't miss it with their fab dishes), and the selection in the cake cabinet is plentiful. Always busy on the weekends and has a grear vibe, with locals hanging out on the sidewalk around the cafe. Great staff and friendly, prompt service. Runs on an order at the counter and blackboard menu style!

Not a bad place at all. Popped over for breakfast a couple times now simply because the food is top notch. Coffees are great (they also have almond milk) and the staff are friendly. Sourdough crumpets are great - note they're extremely filling! Only issue is you can feel a little disorientated when you arrive as isn't clear if you're meant to wait to be seated.

Oh god yes. Go there. Actually, don't - it's crowded enough as it is, and I want to be able to get a seat. Every single thing that I have had here, either breakfast, brunch, lunch, or dinner (when they do dinner) has been awesome (except the sage butter pasta - that one was just really nice). The one, and only negative thing that I could say about the chaps is that their coffee is not spectacular. Not nasty, or undrinkable, but just a bit...meh. If you don't need the caffeine hit, drink the chai, instead - now THATS great.

And if they have donuts when you are there, it is MANDATORY to eat one...

PS no dead animals here, so if you are looking for a meaty meat meat breakfast with extra meat, move along, nothing to see...

A certain hit from the night was having the launch at Two Chap, a local café from Marrickville. They served a delightful array of canapés and drinks featuring Young Henry’s and Antipodes water. Ricotta with celeriac and fennel, white bean with pine mushroom bruschetta were small, bite-sized flavour bombs while the tomato, mozzarella and potato, rosemary focaccias were light and fluffy as a pillow after a long day at work.

Marrickville is well and truly within my warm and fuzzy comfort zone. I grew up in neighbouring Dulwich Hill and spent much of my childhood in the area and while it’s changed so much in the last fifteen years I can still feel its old charm. What was once a working suburb is now a hip, bustling and coveted area to live in so much so that housing prices have skyrocketed. More and more cafes are setting up shop in Marrickville and that brings me to Two Chaps. Baked thyme mushrooms and ricotta with seeded avocado on sourdough $12 In the time since I visited Two Chaps I found out Two Chaps doesn’t actually serve any meat. I must admit I’m not usually drawn to vegetarian or vegan establishments but I can safely say after my visit I didn’t care and loved it nonetheless. The mushrooms, ricotta and avocado on sourdough was the perfect weekend meal for me. I loved the mix of textures and mellow flavours all slathered across a gorgeous piece of sourdough. Some might consider this a small portion but for me it’s more than enough. And you know, if you’re peckish in the afternoon you can always tick another cafe off the list! Egg, mushroom, haloumi with roast beetroot relish $10 A little more humble but no less delicious than the above was the egg, mushroom and haloumi roll. Ryan and I absolutely love haloumi and it evokes warm memories of our simple breakfasts at home. The roll got that little extra boost of flavour with the colourful beetroot relish and it’s overall a nice little meal to start off the day. Cappuccino $3.50 Coffee with brunch, need I say anything else? The coffee was smooth and pretty as a picture, just the way I like it. Dark chocolate and walnut brownie $4 There’s a cute pastry display to ogle at and I couldn’t resist picking up a few pieces. The chocolate brownie was just as I like it, rich from the dark chocolate and crunchy with the speckles of walnut throughout. Salted choc chip and burnt butter cookie $4 I believe this was a special on the day and I hope

Amazing coffee and v v tasty food. I am so lucky to live where I live. Addison Road Markets, Illi Hill, Henson Pub, 2204, Double Roasters, Coffee, Tee and Me and Two Chaps all within 5 minutes walking distance from home. Of all these amazing places, I finally made it with some friends to Two Chaps which did not disappoint. The coffee (and cup served in) was extraordinary. I fancy making my own coffee at home these days, but after one of Two Chaps flat whites, its gonna be hard not to pop over and sit and drink one in the house or out on the street on a bench under the trees. I am surprised when bacon is not on a breakfast menu - what Ozzie breakfast place does not serve crispy bacon?? BUT the tastiness of the poached egg on spicy slaw with a side of mushrooms was delicious. No bacon required. On the downside there was no real help in getting seated (which is hard when some selfish customers take up whole tables for 6 or sit in the middle of the bar by themselves when 4 of us wanted to sit) or any table service but that pushed aside, the food and coffee was the champion and that's mostly what counts!! Well done.

It is a super busy cafe with a long queue. However, the vibe was good and service was nice. The food and drinks were delicious, I would recommend the gailan fried rice! How could anyone say anything bad about this place? Prepare for a small wait on arrival - it’s popular. All the dishes appeared to be meat-free but what they offered was insane. We have the Fried Brown Rice Bowl and Smoked Cheddar Ciabatta - it had house made Kimchi and it was insane. The ambience is good - speaks Inner West for days.
