Friendly staff and good service. Tried the eggs on toast with extras which was pretty good. Caramelised mushrooms were cooked perfectly.....
Meridian overlooks Marulan's quiet main street but is just a minute from the highway. It's got a large and nice indoor area and a few street tables. The coffee's hot, creamy and syrupy but maybe a little weak, and expensive (although maybe standard price for the country). The food seems much better priced by country standards, although my "croque monsieur" had no cheese on the outside, plain brown bread, and appeared to have been cooked in a sandwich press, so I don't see what distinguished it from the items on the menu that were actually called "toasties". Good ingredients though, including bechamel sauce.
Was a bit hesitant after reading Hoppys review however found the meridian food, coffee and service amazing.Would definitely recommend a stop at Marulan for breakfast or lunch.
Café by day, Indian restaurant by night
As a café it's as good as you'd wish for on the road. Decent coffee, excellent hamburgers and toasties
And a big, welcoming smile from the staff
(Some day, maybe, we'll get a chance to try the restaurant)
Great country town cafe. Try the Naked wagyu beef burger with spicy chutney. All burgers available naked, half naked or traditionally with top and bottom buns. Meridian also stock Milk Lab Almond milk and the Vittoria coffee is always great.
Due to the massive bushfire that went through NSW on the summer of 2020, Murulan and surrounds got affected. My partner and I decided that one of the ways we can help the community is to visit and support local shops.
THE PLACE - We found that Meridian Cafe was a Nice cozy place to have a short pit stop before exploring other areas.
The wall is covered majority with dog photos, an occasional cat, rat (or rabbit) and a lizard (iguana ?). I think it's for fundraising. It is quite cute!
THE FOOD & DRINK - we had the blackboard specials on the day and it was delish! The ice coffee was nice as well. Yes, we will revisit this place again in the future.
FOR FUTURE VISITORS - Ditch the roadside services or McDonalds or KFC or Hungry Jacks. Go off the main highway, and sometimes you'll be really surprised what you will find.
Way better stopping here than the motorway restaurant. Mushrooms on toast, coffee the absolute best, by far. Did I mention they the best? They the best.
When you are in Marulan, get off the highway. It's a no brainer. Not only does one get rewarded by Meridian Cafe's wonderful and sumptuous fare, but one also gets to witness a charming little town with lovely people.
My family and I visited here on our way to Canberra on a frigid morning. The coffee was excellent, brekkie was fresh, wholesome and delicious. The bacon and egg roll is a real winner. Generous portions with freshly made turkish bread. We stopped by here on our way back from Canberra as well.
Lovely cafe with good coffee & food. About half way between Sydney & Canberra. Lots of photos of dogs on all the walls.
Great cafe to stop off for a bite between Canberra & Sydney! Food hits the spot and the staff are incredibly friendly! Will be back!
