Our friends and I visited The Deck & Anchor today for my birthday lunch and it was fabulous!
Firstly the seating was roomy and comfortable on the deck overlooking the Mary River and boats, catfish playing under the deck and the occasional Water Dragon basking in the sunlight by the river.
We ordered drinks, starters, mains and deserts and the wait staff were fast, courteous and attentive to our every need or want.
Lastly the food was delicious, fresh, and left nothing to be desired as it was perfect and the menu represented the dishes to perfection.
Today there was live music and the talented musicians played a really good collective of old and classics that drifted throughout the conversation bringing good memories to everyone at the tables.
The owners are lovely people and we wish them all the very best as this restaurant is a must if you visit Maryborough, and if you don’t normally visit, take a drive but book ahead due to Covid planning!

This is a very nice place to enjoy the Mary River. There are a few parking spots available. On some occasions, there is some sort of steam train boiler that does the runs past this place for everyone to enjoy, especially the kids. There is a restaurant there as well as a hairdresser. I would recommend ringing up and checking in to see if the restaurant is open.
Awesome food , fast service, friendly staff and reasonable prices! I had a coffee and the savoury mince and can highly recommend it :) if you are looking for a feed in Maryborough with a beautiful view of the river this is the place.
Not an enormous menu but very well presented food in good portions, good beverage selection, vegan, meat, and fish choices. Also a breakfast menu. Service was exemplary and in a lovely setting. Restaurant prices but well worth it. Great, calm atmosphere. Loved our lunch.
Really delicious food on a great spot on the river. There were lots of different options on the menu. Our food arrived within minutes and the staff were very kind. Thank you very much 71 Wharf!
I like this cafe because of the river views, always stop for a coffee or a bite like lunch. Friendly service and never empty, has some vibe, but I never had dinner here, stopover when passing Maryborough, mostly on the way to Brisbane.
New owners but same charm. Always friendly and eager to please. Highly recommend.
