Amazing cakes done with class and for a decent price here. Check it out. Worth the drive!
It isn't too hard to get to since it is just across the road from the Maylands train station. It is a fairly large shop with one side having the bakery and the other being a dining area. They also had a few seats outside.
The first thing you see is the counter full of delicious looking baked goods, both savoury and sweet. There was a cupcake cabinet as well as a cake one and the counter was just chokka with pastries and cakes. They have a menu with other items on it too. I ordered at the counter and then found a seat.
I grabbed a red velvet cake and iced chocolate to eat in. The indoor dining area was quite interesting, having an American diner feel with booths, old furniture, and photos and other paraphernalia hanging on the wall. The ice chocolate required a bit of mixing otherwise it was just milk. There was a bit too much ice in there for my liking. The red velvet cake was delicious, moist, sweet and tasty. The cream on the side was also nice with the sweet frosting.
I also grabbed a few things to take back home, a salted caramel tart, a chocolate cupcake and an almond croissant. They were all quite tasty as well. There were quite a few parents with children when I was there so I'm most likely not the only person who thinks its a great place for an afternoon snack.
Our go to cake shop for all family occasions. A birthday doesn't go by without a cake from Sherbet. Can highly recommend their carrot cake. Always busy but the staff are always friendly.
