Great atmosphere, lovely staff and good coffee. Nice place for a catch-up. We really like the kids play room area. The cafe is divided into different rooms and even has a patio at the back. There’s also parking behind the cafe if you can’t find any on the street. I had ice coffee, their Haus made cookie and berry muffin 👍🏼 next time I will try the hot meals.
I love Steam Haus. Very nice atmosphere, spacious and there’s always lovely flowers on the table. My coffee is always great here and the egg Benedict is just how I like it ❤️
Amazing service!! Always friendly a place they remember your orders! The food is beautiful homemade and great prices. Coffee is like a coffee should be, the sausage rolls are a must .

Amazing homemade sausage rolls and the coffee was great. The place has a very relaxed feel to it, I'll definitely be dropping by again soon.
A great cafe on the Whatley crescent strip. The interior is quirky and interesting and extremely inviting. The coffee took a little a while but they were extremely apolagetic and it was worth the wait.
Absolutely love the Steamhaus. Friendly owners Nadja and David always make you feel like you are visiting their home, and the cafe has a super-cosy feel about it with its separate rooms as well as spacious shared front section. The coffee is great, and the menu offers something for everyone. Do yourself a favour, head down to the Huas today and grab a toasted croissant, Haus-made cake, or the Apple Pie Granola with your coffee.
The Whatley Street strip has a wealth of cafes to visit. Brunch lovers head to Mrs S, those of us with a sweet tooth can’t stroll past Sherbet without a coffee n cake, If you’re feeling like something boozy, then Swallow Bar will fit the bill and then there’s Steam Haus – where they’re serious about their coffee and helping the environment too.
I was a frequent visitor here from 2016-2019 and then completely forgot about it as my daughter grew up and the pandemic happened. I visited this place today and my goodness its exactly where I left it (actually even better their menu has more vegan,vegetarian options). Their carrot cake has to be on everyone's 100 things to eat before you die list. The staff is sooo sweet and super welcoming. Good job guys absolutely love it
A unique and somewhat bohemian experience in the centre of Maylands. I love the art on the walls and the interesting layout where you have a choice of different rooms. It has a very laid-back and friendly vibe. I had the Reuben sandwich, my wife had the Mediterranean omelette, both of which were excellent and quite generous. I think at the price point, what you're getting is bang on value for your money: it's priced just right. Will be back for sure.

Nice little coffee shop on the Maylands strip. It has a comfy vibe with lots of smaller individual rooms that can be closed off from each other, like an old house that's been renovated into a coffee shop.
It is great one for small kids because there's a room specifically with toys and things where you can just close the door and not worry about them disturbing other customers or running amok. This room has the best airconditioning in the place too, so that's a big bonus on hot days when it's too warm to hit the park. There's small table an chairs in there as well as few small tables for adults. The toy offering is more aimed at younger kids and will keep them occupied long enough for you to have some coffee in peace.
I've never eaten a cooked breakfast here, they have the usual brekkie basics, eggs on toast, eggs bene', smashed avo, mushies on toast, that kind of stuff. I have always gone for the cabinet foods as well and toasted sandwiches. They get their pasties and donuts from Mary St bakery and make their other cakes in house. You can get coffee + toastie, or ham and cheese croissant, or donut, for a bit of a discount.
Overall it's a pretty chill place to spend some time, it's not as noisy or crowded as other cafes on the strip and the small rooms gives a quite intimate feel to the place. Nice for a coffee and cake/pastry.

My 5 stars if for the coffee and the cake me and my partner had. Very nice.
Service was a little rushed at the end of day and I felt as if they had somewhere better to be. To be fair it was 2:03 so they were ready to clock off but I don’t see what the big rush is.
(No indication as to the shop shut time until you’re inside and already ordered, and the penny drops, people want to leave).
After careful thought, I couldn’t critique the shop for it closing on time but customer service is paramount for return patronage. I think at the end of the day, attitude may become sightly lackadaisical and the staff were happy to chit chat with each other, I was unaware the coffee was ready as no one called out (I think this was exacerbated by the fact I felt we needed to be close to the exit door as possible).
My partner compared this to her previous work experience at max Brenner and in retrospect they should have put more effort into advising us it was ready.
But I’m happy we at least had the opportunity to order.
I’ll be back soon, when I get the opportunity and will see how good the bacon and eggs are. Will revise once back.
It's a great cafe. It's a house with different rooms with different themes. Very busy and sitting on the back porch with the succulents is wonderful 🥰

Dog friendly back porch, coffee was quick but tastes a little burnt. I think that was just a one off though as I've had lovely coffee here before. Breakfast size was very generous, smashed avo was tasty but poached egg was over cooked and tomatoes were still a bit underripe. Staff and service were great
Sweet spot, with a big heart for dogs and owners alike. The breakfast roll was tasty, and the coffee made just right. The almond croissant was a bit of a dissapointment, served unwarmed and dry. Yet, the place is indeed lovely and welcoming.
