Delicious meal, friendly service, lovely atmosphere. We had the tasting menu and enjoyed every one of the 12 menu items. Dessert was divine. The view from our window by the open fire place looked out onto vineyards which were stunning in autumn. The only aspect I did not appreciate was the art work which I felt did not suit the country location and feel of the historic building as it was more of a dated modern art but I understand art is personal. I think a consignment from a local artist with perhaps a vineyard theme would be perfect for a beautiful country inn such as the Salopian. Loved the rustic lights. Loved the map of the garden with each course. Would highly recommend.
We arrived at The Salopian Inn after a long drive and empty bellies. There were too many tempting choices on the menu, we had to try them all!
All the dishes were amazing and well cooked! All the ingredients in the plate tested fresh and worked well together.

Very enjoyable experience. Good atmosphere, staff were knowledgeable and helpful. We opted for the chef's tasting menu. One of us was allergic to seafood he was very happy for his substitute. Most of the ingredients were organic and cultivated from their own veggie garden. Definitely will call again!
The menu has a slightly odd mix of Asian inspired dishes and upmarket pub dishes e.g. beef pie. The food was good but not as good as the restaurants reputation would imply. I left a little disappointed because the Asian inspired section in particular didn't have the depth of flavour you would get from a chef steeped in the respective cuisines- it was a little insipid. A pleasant evening but not a wonderful evening of food.
Excellent service by Sarah for our 25th wedding anniversary. Great meals suitable for all dietary requirements. An amazing range of gins along with a substantial wine list. Portions were large, all dishes were tasty and waitpersons were very attentive. Would definitely return & recommend
Great for long lazy lunches with friends. Get a seat outdoors if possible to soak in the sunshine and fresh air whilst looking out at the McLaren Vale vineyards.
The dumplings are the go-to dish, don't miss out and make sure you get an order in. Staff were really friendly and helpful, would come back.
Book in advance if possible, otherwise you can call up to see if they are able to squeeze you in.
Finally, after living in the local area for sometime, the day arrived when we could experience and enjoy this award winning, well known quality Restaurant. The service, the venu and quality of food did not disappoint. Excellence all-around. Not sure why we had left it so long to experience this icon in the local McLaren Vale district. Will be back for more of the same, for sure.
The Salopian Inn has a beautiful atmosphere and aesthetic. The staff was very friendly and helpful and explained each dish in detail. The food is exquisite. We did the Feed me option which was a very generous amount of food. Every bite and taste was lovely and would definitely recommend to do this if you can. Will definitely try and come back when in the area.
