Amazing food that is high in quality and rich in flavour. Enjoy dining in a bright and light, open atmosphere with windows from wall to wall with views of fed square and flinders station.
My highlight would have to be the thinly sliced wagyu that’s been lightly seared and topped with stringy fries 😋
Next up is the tofu dumplings! I loved it’s simplicity and very subtle flavour.
And last but not least and the ultimate end to my very satisfying experience was the banana soufflé! Love the tanginess of the passion fruit syrup on the soufflé.
Amazing customer service here! Super friendly staff who are welcoming and helpful with specials and menu.
Must try the Sichuan duck (with 5 spice caramel)! There was so much flavour; it was beautiful. The daily special of beef cheeks tasted like any other beef cheeks, but nonetheless, delicious. The hiramasa kingfish (with ponzu dressing) was good but didn’t stand out like the others. The candy pork belly (with pickled papaya and nam Jim) was the second favourite! So flavoursome!! Taxi kitchen had big windows which let the natural light shine through, a beautiful interior with an amazing view of parts of the city.
Everything was so delicious
🐟Whole market fish,taxi condiment
🦆Sichuan duck: if this duck was more crispy...it’s good
Definitely I will back to here again
Was here last year with family. The atmosphere was nice and deco very trendy. The waitress was very helpful and recommended lovely dishes for us. I am always a bit hesitant with fusion food but the Taxi Kitchen hit a bull’s eye in that regard. Recommended.
For a 180 degree view of Melbourne's city skyline, Yarra River and Arts Precinct, journey to Taxi Kitchen in Federation Square's Transport Hotel. Hosting cocktail events, a la carte dining, pre-show drinks and boasting three private function dining rooms, Taxi Kitchen dazzles guests with views through floor to ceiling glass windows complemented by earthy tones, indoor greenery and natural light for a clean, semi-alfresco feel. Playful menu items provoke a certain inquisitiveness of guests, charmingly presented on a bed of black pebbles, rustic wooden boards or in colourful, textured dishes. Delight in any or all six courses from seared scallops with red radish, smoked chilli mayo and katiafi…
Great food and lovely service. We came in for a small birthday dinner on a Saturday night. The ambiance and decor was surprisingly bright and fresh. The service was on point yet friendly. We really enjoyed the special lychee cocktail and the Moorooduc Pinot. We feasted like kings on the scallops, bug tails, wagyu dumplings, candy pork, duck and lamb. We certainly over ordered but everything was so delicious and we left totally satisfied. Props to this place I’ll be back again with more friends
I have been here twice. And on both occasions the food has been delicious. They have a variety of dishes. From entrees, to appetisers to dumpling and baos!
I went with my mum and dad who were visiting Melbourne. It was my first dinner in Melbourne many months ago, so I wanted it to be theirs.
We ordered the rare kangaroo to share as a small starter. You get 5 pieces with a cracker and a chutney. I love the rare kangaroo it’s so tasty and the little bites are just heaven.
I ordered the chicken breast with the miso cauliflower. The miso cauliflower is my favourite thing and I devour it every time!
Mum ordered some buns and dumplings. The hot smoked salmon bun and wagyu and ginger dumplings with the wombok coleslaw. All the dishes were flavoured well, with zest, spice and all sorts of nice!
Dad had the porter house with fries. The meal went down in a flash so it must have been nice.
The only problem I had was service was rather slow and my cauliflower was forgotten about and I didn’t get it until I had finished my main which wasn’t ideal.
However, they took the cauliflower off the bill which is a sign of good customer service.
Of course I will go back.
One of the great dining experiences. An amazing menu with so many different things on there. Kingfish and scallops were some of the best I’ve had as were the dumplings. Beautiful views over the yarra, it’s really something you need to visit urgently.
With views overlooking the Yarra River, Taxi Kitchen is perfectly located at the corner of one of the busiest spots in Melbourne.
Yet within, the tranquil and laid back environment made way for a refined and excitable dining experience, drawing from Asian influences that are bound to excite your tastebuds.
Extremely diligent service with very knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff. We were asked to hang our coats and were ushered to our seats really quickly. The oysters were amazing. The biggest, plumpest and tastiest I’ve had for some time. Whether you like the ponzu sauce is a matter of personal preference. A little bit is good. So it's placed to go for sure, especially for visitors and guests. For a pure culinary experience, it’s up there but has competition.
