For a quick ramen fix, I go to Little Ramen Bar. This place serves consistent authentic ramen and always long queue during peak lunch times.

šŸ”†LOCATIONšŸ”†

Little Ramen Bar is situated on Little Bourke Street, right near the corner of Elizabeth Street, short walk from H&M/Bourke Street Mall. The place is quite small and is typical layout as you would see in Japan hence why the shop is called ā€œLittle Ramen Barā€.
The queue does somewhat move fast itā€™s a place where you just eat and go as you cant really hang around too long to chat and you do get ushered by the staff once youā€™ve finished your meal.

šŸ”†SERVICEšŸ”†

Staff is super quick and prompt service. From ordering, to table service to clearing tables. They are well trained especially when it gets really busy.

šŸ”†MENU/PRICEšŸ”†

Classic Ramen , $12.90
(original Tonkotsu pork soup with seaweed, bamboo shoots, spring onions & a slice of BBQ pork)

Choose from 3 varieties: Shoyu (special soy base), Miso (soybean), Shio (light salt base).

Special Miso Ramen , $15.90
(white and red miso, a little chilli, pork broth topped with 3 pieces of delicious BBQ pork, corn, butter ā€“ request to exclude egg)

Gyoza Dumplings, $6.90
(Handmade pan fried pork and vegetable dumplings, serving of 6)

Seaweed Salad, $4.90

šŸ”†VERDICTšŸ”†

I normally order the classic ramen, as it tastes good.

The gyoza were good size and fried really nicely, however it was quite oily. It would have been ideal if they soaked some of the oil off first before serving.

My friendā€™s ramen was really nice too but she requested without egg as she didnā€™t want to be too full.

The seaweed salad was average, nothing really special.

Ordered Chasu Tamago and some Kimchi. It was good and the serving was just right. A bit weirded out though by the smell of the ramen. The smell was a bit fishy once the ramen wasn't hot anymore.

Perfect little place for great Ramen! We had a small food feast with Edamame, dumplings, vegan ramen and a "normal" ramen and loved everything! Would absolutely go there again.
Staff was super friendly and helpful in making a decision.

Had the Tan Tan Men ramen after a couple of drinks in the city. Went for the extra spicy version with a couple of extra eggs. The spice level was just perfect if you are a chilli lover. Service was quick and the place is small but they'll try and seat you quickly. Some veggies in the ramen would have improved the taste and there really wasn't too much pork to talk of. Edemame was delicious. Total bill was $27 which is on the costlier end for ramen. Also this place closes too early on a Friday night if you are looking for an after drink meal.

Came in by myself on a cold, rainy day perfect for ramen. Staff friendly and made me feel comfortable. I ordered the ramen with egg and it was good and just what I needed, paired with an asahi. The broth was nice but not to die for, maybe I'll try the soy rather than the miso next time. Also think there could be more veggies included.

Deserves a 4.0 or 4.5 out of 5, but they get extra props for NOT focusing on tonkotsu broth. Best miso ramen outside of Misoya on Sydney Rd, Brunswick East.

I ordered the ā€˜Special Miso Ramenā€™, which included the requisite chashu, bamboo shoots, and spring onion, but included corn and a cube of butter. Fantastic.

I also like that it was served a bit spicy by default. Nice.

Delicious ramen but meat serving is very small. Could have been perfect with more meat in soup. Nice staff, small seating area, feels tight sitting close to strangers.

I've been here a few times whenever I need a quick ramen fix. It's a bit cramped - but nothing surprising because it's called LITTLE ramen bar. (the clue is in the title!)Ā

As for the ramen, people are very passionate about their ramen - what I will say is that I like this ramen, hearty broth, decent servings. Lots of varieties - including a vegan one if you're that way inclined! There's always a decent number of people here at any one time which has to speak to its popularity. I'll let the ramen 'experts' argue amongst themselves where is the best ramen, I'll just eat this tasty ramen in the meanwhile....

A good place for ramen and beer. Ramen is chewy and well cooked. Broth was flavorsome and not to salty. Meat was tender and tasty. My favorite was the soft boiled egg in Ramen. Donā€™t forget to order your 2 for $10 Sapporo with Ramen!

Really cute ramen bar in the city. Reminds me of small Japanese ramen bars in Japan ā¤ļø ramen was fantastic, very spicy. I still prefer Ippudo though, and I have no idea why. I recommend going to Little Ramen Bar after 7:30pm as itā€™s quieter then.

Gosh I love this place. The menu is extensive and the food is great. So many choices. Always love hokkien with anything chicken. Do try the classic or the spicy miso. Staff are lovely and very fast and efficient. Note that this place does a roaring trade all day but lunch hours are particularly busy, so come earlier if you can. Dietaries can be catered for but just speak to staff. Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly.

Favorite ramen place in the CBD, exactly like it says it's a tiny ramen joint serving up some delicious ramen. Perfect in winter. Have probably been here at least 10 times across the years.

They do the BEST gyoza, it's always so delicious, super hot and fresh. My ramen of choice is the extra garlic ramen... Hehe watch your breath after!

Only cons, it's a bit small so only good for going with two people. Sometimes you'll have to wait and can feel a bit crammed inside.

Tasty, flavorsome and delicious ramen bar in Melbourne CBD. The place is small but fully packed, long que in the front of the resto but it worth the wait. Price is also reasonable. Thick ramen broth that full of flavors and nice thin slice pork that cooked perfectly. Recommended to go.

This Little Ramen Bar was a little but cosy space! It had a very warm atmosphere and we perched on some stools amidst traditional Japanese decor.Ā

Reading the menu, I learnt a bit about the restaurant (they specialise in a small selection of ramen from different parts of Japan) and about ramen itself (ramen consists of four parts: soup stock, base flavouring, toppings and noodles)! There were 3 broths available (Signature Tonkotsu pork broth, Tokyo style chicken broth, Vege broth) and 3 bases (Rich Miso [soybean], Soyu [special soy] and Shio [light salt]).Ā

For dinner we had:Ā

Classic Ramen: $12.90Ā
Chashu Tamago: $14.90 (Extra BBQ pork and a traditional seasoned egg)Ā
Vegetarian Ramen: $14.90Ā Ā

I loved the Chasu Tamago with its original Tonkotsu Soup (Rich Miso) that had been cooked for over 10 hours that day! We were all very satisfied, loved the heartwarming broth and found our meals very generous and filling. As a massive ramen fan, Iā€™d definitely recommend this place to all raMEN and raWOMEN!

Iā€™ve always loved this place. Such an authentic little ramen bar that offers everything you want from a ramen. The key downside is itā€™s limited seating. Be prepared to wait for a seat and then feel the need to quickly dash out afterwards to free your seat up for the next diner. The conversations will just have to wait.

Hidden on the streets of Little Bourke Street, Little Ramen Bar is a good spot to try if youā€™re craving for ramen!

Abu ramen - this was the first time I had tried a soup-less ramen and I was not disappointed! The the fun part about this was getting to mix up all the elements together and anticipating how it would taste like! I could taste the freshness of the ingredients which worked with each other making it my fave dish of the day.

Soup ramen - I cannot remember which flavored broth we had ordered but this was a yummy one (it might have been the garlic shio or special miso ramen). The broth was so thick and it felt so natural just slurping it away! Noodles were nice and soft and had absorbed the broth really well!

Gyoza - this entree was really tasty! The meat inside was juicy and just melted in my mouth!

Little Ramen Bar is one of the examples who do well in all their dishes and we would love to visit them again in the near future! šŸ˜‹

It's like a little game: I love to walk pass Little Ramen Bar on my day off and check out if that's any queue...... quickly get in if there is none, and order my favourite Tan Tan Men or Hokkaido Ramen.

Going by yourself means no one'd judge (smell) you LOL - I always add extra Pork, butter, and GARLIC BOMB (yes, make sure you check out their "extra options").

Gyoza is a great add-on. I also can't wait till weather is warmer so I can order Abu Ramen (the soup-less one with dressing) again.

You could say ramen is a world in a bowl; an ocean of soup, a land of noodles and inhabited by vegetation and meat. Much like the world, it took time to prepare and evolve; eight hours in fact for the soup base, as the Little Ramen Bar goes back to authentic methods in their creations. Greeted by a friendly staff opening the doors, I enter a little modern bar pumping J-pop lightly in the background bringing memories of Tokyo city. Upon indulging with a bowl of ramen, this dish had ticked much in my check box; soup base full of flavor with a creamy and smooth taste, elastic and fresh noodles that have a springy texture upon each bite and surprisingly, a humble interior of wooden chairs and furniture that sparked memories of Tokyo laneway bars at night. It took me a few tries to dine at the Little Ramen Bar as it gets busy quickly during lunch and dinner hours, after all

ā€¦everybody loves ramen

Popular and busy ramen place, for good reason!

The Little Ramen Bar stays true to its namesake, accommodating only a small amount of people in a limited space, but the ramen is anything but - generous, flavoursome with plenty of tasty optional extras. Their Chashu Tamago ramen is a shoyu based broth, light but flavoursome, with a nice creamy consistency. Noodles are firm, thicker and bitey. This is topped with slices of pork, bamboo shoots, shallots, wakame, nori and a gooey egg. Their gyōza is flavour packed with a nice crisp shell and served hot from the pan.

Cosy dining space, friendly staff and great ramen. Well worth the wait!

It's always the tiny places that offer the best food. Little Ramen Bar often yields quite a long queue, but it doesn't stop hungry Ramen-lovers from getting their Ramen fix.
I came in with a group of 7 and we waited around 30 minutes.
I was honestly not disappointed in the taste and quality of the ramen. I had the Classic Ramen with light soy. Loved the broth, the noodles with cooked perfectly too.
The place was very crowded and you'd be bit claustrophobic if you stayed too long.

A restaurant that has such great sentimental value to me. I was introduced to this lovely, jolly restaurant when I was 14 and immediately fell in love when I stepped into the store. Being a kid that never went out much and didn't know much about the world around me, I was captivated by the awe-inspiring vibes this restaurant emitted. After tasting their ramen, it was official. My love for this restaurant and Japan has begun.

Food: fair priced. Menu is easy to comprehend. I totally recommend their gyozas. The wrapping is both delicate and crunchy. The stuffing is extraterrestrial.... everything melts in your mouth and explosions of flavours go off!
My "go to" ramen is the Charsu tamago with miso base. The broth is just out of this world. So rich, flavoursome, delicate, and really compliments the ramen noodles and all the other ingredients. If you are still not full, an extra bowl of just ramen noodles should top you off. šŸ˜‰

Customer service: lovely, well-mannered, actual Japanese people! They are great at their job and manage the long lines really well! (Lines during lunch time may be daunting, so sit tight! Or maybe visit when people aren't on their lunch-breaks.)

Atmosphere: very much like Japan. Small, crowded, and pleasantly accommodating.

One of my favourite and most treasured Japanese restaurants in Victoria! Be sure to dine for wonderful, authentic, heart-warming, soul-fulfilling ramen and other Japanese dishes!

Really surprised me!I've seen this place for years and basically ignored it thinking that there wasn't any good ramen in Melbourne... how wrong I was. IMO this is better than some of the larger Japanese chains that have moved into Melbourne / recently moved.
The Ramen was really flavourful and noodles hard how I like it.
The gyoza were nice, slightly salty for me. The gyoza was juicy, slightly crispy on one side (could've been more crispy) and soft on the other.
Top it off with the two beer special and you can't go wrong.
Slightly pricey but that's ramen in general.
This place has will most likely become my go-to ramen, depending on the next few visits of course.

Guilty of having my first ramen here, loving it so much and yet forgetting to write a review for it. LRB is as its name suggests, a little cute spot tucked away on Little Bourke Street. Donā€™t let its coziness fool you though as this place can accompany a solid 20 people inside and thereā€™s also outdoor seating too which really isnā€™t all that bad when you consider how warming the ramen here is. More often than not, there will be a line. I was so delighted to be met with a wide variety of ramen available on their menu as well as an assortment of extras too (especially adorable the way they describe these). I ultimately settled for the spicy miso ramen and had it in the hottest spice level but it wasnā€™t really spicy at all in my opinion. That might just be me but for those who want to pretend they can tolerate spice, donā€™t be afraid to try this one. For the amount you pay you really do get a generous amount of food especially in terms of noodles. The soup was beautifully mellow and so sweet in flavour from the broth it is prepared with that I found myself drinking the soup after my noodles were gone even though I normally will never do this! Although you have some pork slices, onions and carrots, and minced meat in there too Iā€™d highly recommend adding a luxurious soft-boiled egg or ordering more pork slices as these are also relatively cheap. My friend had the hokkaido ramen and this one was vastly different to my one although considerably a popular and traditional one. The concept of a creamy and buttery noodle soup had never been something that crossed my mind before but upon trying hers, it proved to be a comfort food that you canā€™t help but go back to. Keep in mind that itā€™s far more of a richer and less sharp flavour but the tastiness of it is in its subtlety. Overall, this has been my favourite ramen place so far. I canā€™t wait to come back here!

This place was filled with an amazing ambience since we sat outside. I had the Shio ramen (bottom) which was an extremely clean and tasty broth, whilst my boyfriend had the Classic ramen (top), which had a sensational smell and hearty taste which I preferred. Extra toppings are available, in which I love my spices. Noodles were done well but got full really easily. Otherwise, can not wait to return to this peaceful spot.

Been sometime since our last visit. Still a nice cozy small ramen joint. Always consistent and delicious. One of the few that I vouch to the last drop of soup. BTW, adding ajitama is a must.. I also feel many is bias that egg should come by default. Not really, each ramen has its own style and the way to serve, some probably doesnt even want to have egg in it but because of us consumers are washed to think, Ramen = With egg.. yea, na.. Personally my partner loves egg, i like egg but I prefer without the ajitame in my ramen. Price wise, very affordable and nice portion.

Late, last minute dinner with a girlfriend, brought us here.

I chose a delicious miso broth for my base with the classic ramen, along with an added egg. This dish was jammed packed with flavour like you wouldnā€™t believe and rich to boot. I can still hear my taste buds calling for their second serving. The added soft boiled egg is a must and not to mention a side of kimchi just adds that extra kick, I luurrvve.

A simple set up, with bright lighting - not the best for capturing photos of your food but who cares! Once that spoon or fully loaded chopsticks hit your mouth youā€™ll forget about the glare in the shot. The staff were efficient as would be expected and all meals are reasonably prices. Plus with a 2 for $10 on Sapporo its well worth a visit.

I am a huge fan of ramen and having recently started work down in Melbourne it was a better time than ever to drop into here
I went for an early lunch and Iā€™m glad for that with my limited time on work lunch break - it got busy quickly and there is a reason for that
There were choices of ramen that would suit everyone and perfect for an introduction to the world of ramens.
I got the gyoza dumpling which were awesome- full of flavour and great support for the main course :) (definitely share them with friends as too much food for one I think hahah)
I choose the garlic shio ramen and added some corn and bean sprouts - there is heaps of choices to customise to your taste
It was a HUGE serving that I enjoyed
It wasnā€™t lacking on flavour however it could have more of a kick- Iā€™m always slightly tentative when going to a new place
Service was prompt and friendly and I had a table outside which was fantastic in this glorious weather
All in all I would easily recommend going here - ramen was lovely and clean and I look forward to trying some other options on their menu

Everything you'd come to expect from a Melbourne laneway experience. Lines out the door, small dining area, and awesome food.

Broth and serving size were both of point, and price point even with the extra noodles and pork was still really competitive.

There is nothing like a steamy bowl of ramen on a rainy Melbourne afternoon to give the soul a hug. And this place is the perfect spot for one! We had perfectly fried gyoza (juicy and fluffy inside and crunchy on the outside), spicy bamboo shoots (lightly spiced and sweet), and a bowl of Spicy Miso Ramen (medium heat) and a bowl of Garlic Shio Ramen. Personally, I prefer the Garlic Shio Ramen for the rich flavour, but both were delightful. The line outside moves quickly, and this is worth the wait. Recommended!

K: Ichiran Ramen. Did that catch your eye? Perhaps an association to the best known ramen in the world famous for their Michelin Star rating in the heart of Tokyo? Although no Michelin star to flex in it's honour, Little Ramen Bar always has a long queue of hungry customers waiting to try their beautiful food so intrigued, I had to visit.

You see, I have definitely had great ramen in my time. Ichiran in Tokyo, Ichiran in Dotonbori and a few other places in Japan yet this place gave me nostalgia. Ordering the garlic shou ramen, the smells from the outset sent me into a deep nostalgic coma. There I am sitting in a stall in Tokyo, the chef presenting me a masterpiece. This meal was no different. The broth? Amazing. The meat? So soft, tender, juicy and exquisite. The egg? Perfectly cooked and just soft enough. The noodles? Spectacular.

Everything about this meal was outstanding, so much so that I must name it the best Ramen in Melbourne. Come to this place to experience Ichiran quality ramen. That is all I have to say!

The bamboo shoot was really delicious, the pork slice was tender and full of flavour. The soup was good also. Food was made quite fast. Really enjoy it

It may look small but they definitely know how to make one of the most tastes gyoza & ramen in Melbourne. I was lucky to be selected for the Ramen Degustation night.

It was great to learn about the Little Ramen's Bar ramen story. They soup was flavourful and had a generous amount of toppings. My favourite was the Garlic Shio Ramen, it was well balanced with a deep flavour like the perfect ramen should have.Ā

When it comes to gyoza, Little Ramen Bar definitely has one of the best Gyoza's in town. Hand made on site it has the perfect balance of meat and vegies and they even have a vegetarian option which was as tasty as the meat option ! I will definitely be back for these Gyoza's. They are cooked to perfection.

Have been here twice.I would say if you like slightly chewy noodle, this is the best. Gralic shoyu is more intense while the original one is relatively light, I prefer the latter.

My boyfriend used to be a big loyal fan of Little Ramen Bar since they were at their old location, but this is our first time trying out this location after they've moved. It was delicious, but not as good as remembered. Don't get us wrong, it's not bad--it's still delicious, but just not like how it was back then. Love that the shop is much bigger now, and there are both counter and table options to be seated in.

Little Ramen Bar offers, as its name suggests, a variety of beverage options as well as different styles of Ramen and other Japanese style nibbles. After relocation to Lt Collins St, it became more spacious, yet the friendly and fast service has not changed. Highly recommended for a quick bite/drink.

Got the signature pork broth which was full of flavour and plenty of toppings, the soup was heart warming and the pork was tender. The gyoza were really juicy and also packed flavour. There is a nice vibe inside the restaurant and amazing customer service.

I haven't had ramen out in a long while. So in my opinion Little Ramen Bar is pretty tasty. Its a pretty spacious ramen place, has lovely atmosphere. I do like that you can order via phone, makes a little easier especially when you have a hard time picking what you want to eat. I chose a vegetarian style shoyu ramen with extra eggs, hard style noodles. I had moderate spicy but to be honest didn't feel spicy but that okay! The bowls a pretty sizable like most ramen places. The ramen selection is fairly small but very customisable to a degree. The food came out quick and the employees were very lovely and attentive. The price for the ramen is pretty fair. Overall i enjoyed this place!

Little Ramen Bar Little Collins St is new. They relocate from Little Bourke St store. It's alot bigger and has a bar top area. The entire menu is the same as before. You place the order by scanning the QR code on the table. Ramen is average. But location is very convenient for city worker. Recommended for a quick lunch with colleagues or by yourself.

Oishii!! Very tasty clean food. Handmade gyoza, wok fried rice with chashu, delicious ramen perfect for the cold weather - and add the Sapporo on tap. Have lived in Japan and Little Ramen ā€˜with a bit of a twistā€™ satisfied me. 悊恌ćØć†ć”ć–ć„ć¾ć™
