Flavours were great. The calamari and zucchini fritters were super oily and the texture of the chips weren't great but everything else was delicious. The grilled chicken was really tender and full of flavour. The dips were a highlight too, my favourite was the eggplant 👌🏼

We were given a voucher by friends as a gift knowing this is one of our preferred dining destinations and visited for lunch for the first time. Same menu and still pretty busy but there was still something new to discover, the house made sodas. I believe the flavours tend to change but if kiwi fruit and rosemary is available jump alll over it. You can spike them with vodka too if you so desire. Another delicious meal

Hubs and I attempted an impromptu dinner at Chin Chin (seriously what were we thinking) and while the wait there was something like two hours we managed to secure some seats at the bar at Gazi, eat, arrive home and then be texted by Chin Chin to say our table was ready!
We’ve been eating our fair share of Greek food lately but we’ve never been disappointed here, the service is always attentive and there’s a pleasant ambiance to boot. The meat is exceptionally flavoursome but if I learned one thing this time it was you simply must have the chips topped with crumbly feta and you have to finish with the honey Nutella doughnuts or loukoumades in Greek. So yummy!

We had some international visitors and thought Gazi would be a good dinner option because the food has never failed to impress me. We started with the three dip and pita (it makes financial sense to get three!) eggplant, carrot and tzatziki cannot go wrong with those classics.
I realllllly wanted to get the bombe dessert which serves 3 but everyone was really full from all the bread as we all had souvas- the nine of us were the very definition of carb coma post those. Ultimately this is delicious street food in a fun contemporary environment. Love the terracotta roof too.

Gazi to me personifies the lyrics of the Maroon 5 song She will be Loved, 'I've had you so many times but somehow I want more'. One of my favourite restaurants in Melbourne, definitely my favourite restaurant of George's and undoubtedly my favourite ever Greek restaurant; it's consistently delicious.
Bread and dips are a must the dough is just soo super soft. It's the same on the small souva (the chicken is delicious) and you can't go past the lamb shoulder. Ensure you book in advance otherwise you will find yourself seated at the bar at best. If worse comes to worse they also offer takeaway. Definitely take up this option if you are too full to eat the doughnuts so you don't miss out
Delicious Greek I have ever had...a bit expensive. But I will come back again.

Let’s deal with the food first.
I got the Soft Shell Crab Souva which I thought was worth getting one bite in. It was great.
I also got the Chips with the Feta and Oregano which I thought were just okay. Would’ve been better served with aioli or something. The feta and oregano were quite strong and a bit too much so.
For the drink I got The Nightcap off the cocktail menu. Hmmm. Won’t be getting that again, to be blunt and I wouldn’t recommend anyone else does either.
Overall, a 4/5 experience. Not a 4.4 though.
Came here with a group of 8, some people were a little late so we ordered the pita bread which was very soft and the dips were great while we were waiting. The waiting staff were also very attentive and welcoming.
This is my second time coming here and last time I had the soft shell crab souvlaki it was highly recommended and the only souvlaki that I should get, so it was delicious and didn't disappoint. So this time I ordered it again and still it did not disappoint🤤
The other side's we got were also very good, coupled with the donuts for dessert. But I still think the donuts should be the more traditional Greek donuts IMO.

This is one of favourite Greek places in Melbourne. I would recommend the trio dips and pita as a sharing option. The tzaziki and prawn dips were our favourite. The souvlakis here are delicious. They are perfect sized for one each so you still have room for some other sides. Remember to order the bombe alaska for dessert!

Update Sept 2018: tried the bombe metaxa and it's amazing! When first brought out they set it alight and spray it so it flames a couple time. Get your camera ready!
The sitari salad was also very delicious. Full of flavour and a nice mix of smooth, crunchy, chewy textures.

The food served here is amazing!
The chicken souva is tasty, the bread is pillowy and thick and the meat has the perfect grilled flavour.
The loukoumades are incredible. Crispy like glass on the outside, soft and doughy on the inside. The perfect ratio.
Highly recommend this place.

❤️: The range of dips and pita are the perfect way to start of Greek culinary journey. We went with the tasty Tzatziki served with warm pita bread fresh out the oven.
Then on to my favorite, the Prawn Kataifi. Prawns wrapped in Greek kataifi pastry, with Aleppo mayo and smoked almond honey. A beautiful tie of flavors and textures. Simple street food elevated to the next level.
Souvas are also a highlight. We got the Soft Shelled Crab and Pork Belly. It was so good.
To share, we got the Lakes Entrance Baby Snapper with pickled pepper, green olive tapenade and prepared in the wood fire grill.
Even the chips here are good as the other dishes. This could possibly be the most delicious chips I’ve ever had. Crunchy on the outside, hot and fluffy in the inside. To top it off, it’s topped with feta and oregano that slowly melts onto the piping hot chips.

Good food and service is great. I personally feel it is overhyped, it is like every other fine dining restaurant in the city. We were particularly happy with the service. Drinks were not that great. A couple of good veggie options available too. Dessert options were limited and very specific. Overall good experience.
Good souvlaki. Had the soft shell crab one that was pretty good! Very loud for a date night, more for casual family sharing time. It’s a hustle and bustle type of restaurant
Food was brilliant. Awesome flavours and service was fantastic. Food came out at reasonable intervals. All my friends would go back in a heartbeat.
Amazing greek food with gorgeous interiors. My favourite has to be the prawn kataifi; juicy prawns and crispy outer layer with an amazing bed of sauce. We had some pita and dips as a starter, and had tzatziki, taramasalata and miso eggplant which easily became my favourite. I tried the soft shell crab gyros and as expected it was full of flavours, perfect crunch and very filling. I don’t think you can go wrong with anything that’s on the menu.

Damn. This was really good! We loaded up on starters and the gyoza were mind bogglingly good. The saganaki, corn, calamari, prawns - everything was top notch. For mains we had souvas and chips. They were pretty good too, but the starters won the day for us. Busy and noisy, and worth the hype.
Loved this place. Having been wanting to come for a while! Highlight was the spanakopita gyoza’s ....they were superb! it was just the two of us! Saganaki was yummy too!!! Next time we’ll come with a few more people to taste a bit of everything! ❤️
This place is amazing. Everyone ought to visit here and try the soft shell crabs wrap. My whole family loved it. The next time I go to Melbourne, you will find me at Gazi!
I cannot rave about Gazi enough. It’s been on my list for so long, and I finally decided to book dinner with my sister. We both loved the food!! So many of our friends have been, that we already had many dishes recommended to us. The dips and pita were phenomenal, literally just as good as everyone says. We also loved the souvlakis, I had the soft shell crab and my sister had the beef. The sagnaki was delicious, my sister didn’t like the citrus sauce but I thought it complemented the cheese well. The staff were very friendly and service was pretty quick. I will one hundred percent be returning to try more dishes!
Great atmosphere even though it was loud and busy, great ambience. Customer service was pretty good and friendly staff. A salad, a side and one main was enough for two of us girls, very good food. Would come back to try lunchtime hours!

Recently came to Gazi for dinner. It was packed with diners enjoying the delicious food and a buzzing atmosphere. The feed me options weren’t really wowing us so we ordered our own starters, entree and mains with sides. All the food was tasty and portion size was pretty good. The lamb shoulder was a little on the small side given the price tag but we didn’t leave hungry. We passed on dessert, maybe next time. Cocktails were ok too.
Was at Gazi last night to take a friend. We tried the feed me menu 'beta' - it had 8 dishes and were able to swap one of the dishes out with saganaki. The staff were courteous, polite and friendly. Our table was well attended.
I wouldn’t usually count Greek food amongst my favourite cuisines but this meal really impressed me. We started with the 3 dips and bread - pumpkin special, eggplant and tzatziki; the first two absolutely mouth-wateringly delicious, the latter not making the grade for me only because of a personal dislike of dill(I’m sure if you like dill it was on par)! We ordered saganaki and then chips which our waitress very kindly offered to give us a half serve of (which was still too much!) and the standout for me was the beef souva which absolutely melted in the mouth and had the most incredible rich flavour. Topped off with a delicious floral Riesling for me and a cocktail for my sister and it was all around delicious and we were too full for dessert though it looked equally amazing from what others were eating!
I can’t decide which was the best dish for me that evening. We have ordered a few plates to share and everything was mmm..mmm... yummy! From the Chargrilled Corn, to their Spanakopita Dumplings (yes, I’ve said dumplings at a Greek restaurant), Lamb Kalamaki and Braised Beef Souva.
And service was on point for such a busy Monday evening. Amazing, amazing vibe for a date night or simply a catch up with your friends.
HAD A GREAT TIME AT GAZI!! You have to make a booking before coming as it’s insanely busy even on a Thursday night. The porterhouse steak was tender juicy and decadent. The figs with cheese was a balance of sweet and saltiness! You must order the brocollini too :3 and they’re famous for their soft shell souvlaki. The restaurant was packed but their staff served the food efficiently and were friendly through the night :)
Anyone who's watched MasterChef knows George and everyone who knows George knows that this is his restaurant, need I say more? This place is absolutely wonderful and I'm yet to have a dish that's not blown my mind away, I expected things to be super pricey but it's not so, also the ambiance is wonderful , love this place!!
Quick and friendly service, nice atmosphere and all the dishes we ordered were lovely! Does get a bit loud when the restaurant fills up. Bomba mexta is a must try! Would definitely return.
I came here with my girlfriends and had a great night. Service and atmosphere were good and the food was delicious, including gluten free options (even gluten free Greek pita!). We shared the chicken, pita and dips, chips with feta, saganaki and sautéed greens (which turned out to only be baby spinach). I'll be back!

Ordered for the beta sharing menu, the burst of flavours in your mouth is unbelievable, I loved how everything tasted and there was not one flaw in any dish.

I stuffed up my reservation and had an extra 2 people. The girls at the front were nice and accommodating about it and helped make a new table for me! Been here multiple times and the food is always good quality, great to share and the staff are friendly. I always go for the slow cooked meats to share and love their feta chips
We were for a work conference, it was a full house that night, we had a set menu I believe, very delicious dips with bread ... the rest was like a deconstructed souvlaki ... I got a ice cream 🍦 cone for dessert yummy coffee flavour a very pleasant night

Gaze is a wonderful place for both lunch and dinner. Ambience is great and food is top notch. I would highly recommend the grain salad, cheese. The lamb was also great! Portions are generous. Make sure you book in advance!
Great value Greek. Bustling by 6.30. Nothing exceptional but the food is very good. We ate the fixed 8 course menu which at $69 was pretty good value. Excellent dips with piping hot flatbread. Followed by ok Saganaki. The Soft shell crab Souva maybe the best of the dishes. The swordfish straight off the charcoal grill also very good.
Service was excellent. Friendly. Efficient. It’s a noisy bustling place so not the place for a quiet romantic meal. But a group of 5 of us had a very good time.
We very much enjoyed our dining experience here. I’ve been before, and loved the food so we came for the Yum Cha experience. We loved the Greek and Asian influence on the menu items. There was a lot of rounds and we got very full quickly. The vibe of the place was excellent, beautiful venue. Only thing I didn’t quite get was the dessert. It was a little bit of a let down from all the other menu items. Otherwise it was a great experience, delicious food and great service!
Delicious meal! We ordered takeaway- chicken souvlakis and chips. The souvlaki meat was perfectly cooked and the pita was soft and fresh. The chips were crispy and the feta and oregano topping was tasty.

Absolutely love the food.. Gazi is a place we go to to celebrate special occasions- birthdays and anniversaries.. they had a chicken wings stuffed dish which unfortunately isn’t on their menu anymore.. but their chips, souvlakis and dessert are out of the world 👌👌

The dips were fresh and supplemented with fluffy pita bread. The meat was tender, juicy and perfectly cooked. The sides were creative, generous and well chosen to accompany the meat.

Great place to get some nice Greek food, the meat that they put in the souvlaki’s is so succulent and juicy, definitely worth to wait in line for. They are very busy most of the time so I would recommend to book an table. SO DELICIOUS!!!!
Really liked gazi. Never thought Greek food was that interesting but on a few recommendations thought I’d try it out. Execution of their dishes is top notch. Beautiful seasoning and the value was great. Service efficient.

A group of four of us were seated at a high bench. Beautiful interior with terricota Potts hanging from the ceiling. The food was delicious and the sides were really large servings.
Had a blast here, food and drinks were superb, only downfall was we felt slightly rushed due to the table being booked right after us and we ate quite leisurely...
Dips with pita were a wonderful starter and the chicken main stood out from the crowd! Will definitely be back but must plan ahead what to order so we don’t waste any precious eating time!
Very good quality food, venue and service. I prefer George’s Hellenic Republic with its Greek Cypriot flavours. The stand out dish from Gazi is the tsatiki dip and super fluffy feta. It’s also got a great vibe and an excellent location
This was a fresh twist on Greek food! There’s plenty of good Greek food in Melbourne but this was pretty bloody impressive. The service was great, very attentive but not in your face. Our group had the alpha sharing course and were left suitable satisfied and not needing more! This experience was above expectation, offered good value for money and served up the goods with the food!
Their Bento lunch set is absolutely amazing ! Love the decor, the staff are friendly and good food 😊 Food arrives in reasonable time too which is a plus for lunch.
Went here a few times and the first times I got the sharing menu as they were always special occasions. I enjoyed trying all the different things and having a variety to taste. On one occasion I had vegetarian choices but didn't feel like I missed out at all! Highly recommend!
The staff were amazing and friendly. The atmosphere was great and the general vibe very welcoming. We opted for the set meals which was agreed upon to be the best decision as everything was delicious and we were well fed for the reasonable price.
A fantastic restaurant and amazing food. We shared a few plates between 5 girls and it was tasty and filling. Service was very friendly too. It’s a shame we only had a 2 hour booking (I understand they need to move people out & in)... I think we all could’ve stayed there all day eating!
Hellenic Republic was good, Gazi was great. We had the 7 plate set to share between four and the amount of food was more than filling. Everything was delicious, especially the chicken, king brown mushrooms and the brussel sprouts omg. Tuna was too cooked for my liking, that’s the only negative I have. And that I couldn’t fit any more food in my stomach... great night.

This is my favourite restaurant, the food they serve is honestly the best I’ve ever had. Their souvas, chips, the slow cooked lamb and even the desserts! I constantly think about going back. Can be hard to get a dinner time reservation and you need to book well in advance
The saganaki cheese, the chips with feta, the corn !!! These are all so delicious !! We ordered the flambé dessert for four people and it was too sweet, rich and huge for us to finish. Nice decor and mood. Would recommend 👍
Gazi was recommended by a friend and after checking them out on Zomato, I was sold by the great reviews. Although it’s not fine dining, I felt a bit underdressed as a tourist since everyone else looked like they had just got off work so they were in their business casual attire. The ambiance was still pretty casual though.
Food was delicious and reasonably priced. The inside of the restaurant is lovely, and the staff were exceptional. We had a wonderful time! :)

What a great value for money! We came here during lunch time to get their special. It was beautifully presented with lots of small dishes for you to try. Looks are deceiving as it was certainly filling. The tuna and the chicken were my favourite. Service was friendly and efficient too and were accommodating to dietary requirements.

Gazi is one place I will take everyone who visits me in Melbourne. Undoubtedly top notch ambience, service and food.
Their pita bread and Souvlakakia are the best in town. I have tried all their dips and it’s too hard to pick one. We ordered Pork and Prawn, Chicken, Duck and Soft Shell crab Souvlaki. I am not a big chicken eater when it’s comes to my choice of meat but their walnut chicken is out of this world.
One big advice always book your table so you don’t have to wait for too long or not end up getting a seat to dine.

Located at the corner of Exhibition Street towards Flinders (after EY building); was a pretty a miss spot as the logo was inside the building. Thank God for the red neon ‘touch here’ auto door that catches our attention.
Entered with big designer setting greeted with friendly FOH manager. Seated at the corner of the restaurant. Design and ambience were nice. The only let down was that there was construction outside the restaurant and some painting was on-going thus the smell was put off. Luckily this happened after we finished our meal. Waiter introduced and recommended how the menu works. We had smoked hummus with sesame seeds dips& pita as starter. Additional top up pita would be $3 and we regretted it as we were full by then! We were surprised as we are big eater couples (haha). Anyho, the brunch was followed by pork&prawn and soft shell crab (OMG this was so good!) souvlaki. Main course was pork belly Byzantine dressing, apple&parsnip skordahlia. We were recommended to have half serve of chips and salad which I considered a big amount for 2 of us taking account the food we ordered. We had chips oregano garlic oils feta and crispy lettuce with tahini yogurt kefalograviera. Finished off with vanilla soft serve ice cream raisin glyko and Le bf had his latte.
Overall, it was a good experience. I really love their soft shell crab souvlaki; the sauce they used was amazing! The price was reasonable with the food and service we had. Total spent $116.75 with a glass of P’digm Hill Ries and freshly made fruit juice Farmer’s Breakfast. Will definitely come again!👌🏼
