Early morning buffet breakfast. Restaurant is beautifully decorated and lots of soft furnishings so it is quite. The buffet has everything you would expect. Lots of fresh fruit an cereal and a good hot food section. Had a wonderful baked goods section. Quiet a nice buffet breakfast.

We had breakfast here after staying overnight.  All you can eat! A very wide selection of food, ranging from simple cereals to cooked breakfast of bacon, sausages, eggs, tomato, mushrooms, avocado, toast, Asian style food, pastries, cakes, pancakes, fruit, juices, coffee, tea.  Very yummy and we ate so much we didn't need lunch!!  It was very crowded, being school holidays but we very lucky and got a private booth next to the window.

Great place for high tea and catch up. Choices were abundant for desserts, tea and sparkling. Lights were a bit too dim, wished it was brighter. Other than that, it was nice.

Melbourne's favourite winter pop-up has returned to Grand Hyatt Melbourne but with a tantalising new twist. World-class barbecue connoisseurs, Burn City Smokers, are towing in their custom-built smoker to deliver a fusion of their famous Southern-American flavours with Japanese cuisine to bring you Texakaya (Texas x Izakaya).

Came here for the buffet breakfast and whilst extremely pricey, and service was a bit curt, the overall selection was great as was the standard of menu items (in particular the pastries).

They have a great variety for their breakfast buffet, everything was so fresh . Their wide selection of Pastry and bread was quite extensive . The hash brown are something to remember they was so crunchy but still has soft potato chunks inside . Overall would totally recommend it if you are near by it is just so worth a try!!

Collins Kitchen had a really great breakfast buffet. The buffet included different desserts, morning beverages (orange juice, Yakult, green juices, etc.), and a great range of foods. Their bread area was so pretty and even had its own different sourdoughs! The buffet is very aesthetic and homely vibe. The staff there were friendly and provided great service for my table of 15 people.

I would highly recommend this breakfast buffet!

Been here for the high tea on weekends. Cute and beautifully made desserts, and unlimited hot finger food. My family loved it. The scones are really fluffy yet moist.

Came here for high tea a while ago, really good customer service. Most of the food we had at the high tea was good and fresh but that day we went, it wasn't too busy so we didn't get a chance to enjoy the hot food buffet because it wasn't open. We only can enjoy the dessert buffet. But the staff was really nice to bring over some hot food for us. We really enjoy our time there. 😀

I visited Collins Kitchen last week to celebrate my Dad's birthday. It was a little surprise for him so he had no idea we were going to be there, on top of that my mum had organised for us to go to see Pricilla: Queen of the Desert. The show started at 7pm and by the time we arrived at the restaurant it was just after 6pm. The staff were incredibly polite and helpful, we informed them of our plan of visiting the theatre after dinner and they advised our best options to order for a timely dinner prior to the show.

We ordered a combination of the small plates and main meals with some plates to share to ensure that we had a good chance to taste a bit of everything. We ordered the Kimchi Pancake ($14), Salmon Poke Bowl ($14), Confit Duck Spring Rolls ($15), Fremantle Octopus ($18), Steak of the day, Wood fire Roasted Cauliflower ($22) and the 12hr Slow Cooked Beef ($40) which was an ample amount for a table of four.

Winners of the night would be the Poke bowl which featured some beautifully cured salmon, the Kimchi Pancake which was both light and flavoursome and the steak of the day that was cooked to perfection. I felt as though the slow cooked beef was a bit too smokey for my liking though the meat itself was tender and fell off the bone. The octopus, duck spring rolls and roasted cauliflower were all enjoyable however nothing special.

I was incredibly impressed with the decor and level of service, its perfect for an occasion and the food was exciting enough that i will return for another visit.

Moderately priced considering the location, i would highly recommend that you give Collins Kitchen a try.

I went there in December with my work colleagues for Christmas lunch. I have always loved buffets but it's hard to find one that is reasonably priced and doesn't just give you cheapo food. Collins Kitchen was perfect.

The Christmas lunch was a special at the time (around $75 per person including a glass of wine) They had many different sections, typical pasta, roast, Chinese yum cha, Japanese sushi and sashimi, oysters, pizzas etc. Everything was great - my personal favourites were the fresh oysters and salmon sashimi. The lamb cutlets were beautiful too. The dessert gelato bar was divine. My only complaint was the potato gratin, which was flavourless and still had some bits that hadn't been cooked through.

Despite the disappointing potato gratin, their many other options made up for it and I really enjoyed the Christmas lunch.

As a guest and as a visitor at The Grand Hyatt it seldom disappoints. The opulent venue still carries loads of charm. The Dear Luncher enjoys perching at the bar for a drink or ten. You won't find too many better people watching spots.

Fantastic choice of buffet on weekend, I usually go here on Sunday or during my stay at Grand Hyatt! the buffet breakfast is fantastic and when we stayed as in-house guest, we get a special price for breakfast buffet! I love their pancake, and also all sort of different fresh juices and oriental food served during breakfast! for their buffet lunch, Its also fantastic option between fresh seafood and all sort of Italian, Chinese and other cuisine. I used to like Melba in the past, but I think Collins Kitchen is definitely better choice nowadays.

Needing an efficient, high quality dining experience prior to a 7:30 show (big ask) we chose Collins Kitchen at the Grand Hyatt. I have yet to meet hospitality staff who are more accommodating than those who served us. Nothing was too much trouble at all! Waitresses were well informed about the menu.
We ordered from both the less formal lobby lounge menu and the more formal Collins Kitchen menu. No big deal. My sister did not want a 400g eye fillet. Her request was happily accommodated. My daughter loved the pickles from the charcuterie - no trouble at all to get an extra serve! Sides were value for money and delicious. We managed both dessert and mains with plenty of time left for a leisurely stroll to the Regent.
We returned later to finish the evening with coffee and cocktails in the lobby bar. Would definitely return. Also: pre-booked parking under Grand Hyatt. Cheap and efficient!

We went there for Company Christmas Dinner, they have dinner buffet on weekend only in December. The scollop sashimi is really fresh told by my husband, Waugh beef is very tender and juice even I have it well done because I cannot have anything raw at the moment. It is actually very good selection of food. The only thing that could let down is I would expect a better service.

First time at the Sunday lunch buffet, if Im being honest I was surprised at the variety of the buffet given it was a lot smaller than other big hotels.

I didn't quite like the food as much as I wanted to, however the desserts definitely saved the day. Every single cake and the ice-creams/ sorbets are to die for! Especially the passionfruit and raspberry. Absolutely amazing.

The staff were great to I might add, wonderful attentive and friendly service. Thank you Samaad.

And thank you for organising birthday wishes on the plate and the candle.

I was fortunate enough to have been given some gift vouchers for Collins Kitchen earlier on in the year for their buffet breakfast session and so despite having never stayed at the Hyatt came into town for a Saturday breakfast. I've eaten at Collins Kitchen before from their dinner menu but had never had their buffet breakfast. I was reminded how sleek and stylish the interior of the Hyatt is as we made our way through the entrance to their main dining area. Service to seat us at our table was friendly and staff efficiently took our coffee/drinks order and explained what was on offer. The buffet consisted of your traditional western style breakfast items such as a huge array of breads pastries, cereals, fruits, cooked eggs made to order. It had roast meat station and also a range of dumplings steaming away nicely. The hit food was of fairly good quality and was perhaps most importantly hot. This is one of my biggest gripes with buffets and the Hyatt did a great job keeping everything heated. There were a few pressure points which meant slight delays one of which was the egg station which was slammed. I felt for the staff here as they were clearly under the pump.

Overall an enjoyable dining experience. It was an easy and enjoyable meal. Perhaps not quite the range of my favourite breakfast buffet but still a good choice for a stylish breakfast dining venue.

What happens when you combine a gorgeous dining space in one of Melbournes’ top hotels, an executive chef with a passion for fresh, local ingredients, and two of Melbournes BBQ kings? Magic. Melbourne loves a good pop-up, and this Burn City Smokers x Grand Hyatt Melbourne is one not to be missed. For me and my dude food loving boyfriend, it was the perfect date night as it combined my passion for fine dining with his favourite kind of food; BBQ. Following on the back of the popular Mornington Peninsula pop-up, this is a daring but successful collaboration that brings Melbournes’ grungy food culture into a hotel space and allowed all parties involved to get a little experimental.

Melbourne was very busy last night and most restaurants were "at capacity" so we decided to eat in our hotel. Everything was really nice. Staff attentive. Steaks cooked well. All tasty. Main prices over $40 and desserts closer to $20. Not a cheap meal, Hyatt prices but still enjoyable.

What a beautiful meal. Stunning flavours and gorgeous plating which was perfect for the special occasion dinner we had booked for. The only downside was I found the waiter to be a little snobbish which always blows my mind. My partner had the curry and I enjoyed the fresh spinach pasta. The burrata entree was faultless. I highly recommend. The food was actually impeccable.

i brought my cake and they asked me three times if I wanted to have a look at the dessert menu and when i told them well i brought a cake they didn't even know about it.

Breakfast they say, is the most important meal of the day, it gives you energy, gives you clarity to get through the day, it sets the tone. So finding the perfect breakfast, well let's face it, is reality easy in a city such as Melbourne.

So many cafes and restaurants offering their take on poached eggs, smashed avocado sprinkled with the latest super food grain and freshly juiced kale and ginger juice makes it a smorgasbord of choices for today's customer.

Hotel restaurants around the world have been offering up a breakfast buffet since the dawn of time, with a large degree of failure. The biggest challenge being keeping the offering hot and serving up a variety that keeps them a step a head of their competition. Collins Kitchen in the Grand Hyatt Melbourne offers up this time honoured tradition and where others have missed the mark the Hyatt have not only exceeded the mark but have set the barre to new heights.

Firstly this is a grand restaurant overlooking the plain trees of Russell Street, with warm and inviting furniture that lets you know you're in a five star dining room in a world renowned hotel, a perfect place for the perfect breakfast.

The major difference here is how they offer you the food, there is not a trestle table or Bain marie in sight, instead they have four show kitchens, each with a dedicated chef, either cooking to order your choice of eggs, be it poached or a wonderful fluffy omelette, or continually cooking crispy bacon, sauté mushrooms or an array of dim sum.

Fresh fruit, an assortment of freshly baked bread and a chef offering to squeeze you a super juice, is awaiting you in another kitchen. There's a deli with smoked salmon, turkey and ham on offer with a great selection of cheese and crackers.

If that doesn't fill you up then you'll need to head over to what one can only describe as heavens kitchen. Freshly made waffles and pancakes with fruit compotes and cream. Pastries and cakes galore will give anyone with a slight sugar addiction the fix they need. The only way to make this experience better would be to offer ice cream for the waffles, but that's just me being slightly greedy.

This is not a place for a quick breakfast, to get the full experience you need to spend a couple of hours here and for $42 is certainly value for money.

We loved the food here. There's a good selection of dry aged steak on the current a la carte menu, they are relatively expensive but were worth the money in our opinion. The scallop entree with salmon roe was excellent, left us wanting more. My partner had the wagyu scotch and I had the smoked rib eye... Superb! They came with sauce but this wasn't really necessary as the steaks were seasoned perfectly. Sides of mash and eggplant were great. Excellent service and atmosphere. We'll definitely be back.

Dined at Collins Kitchen as part of a special overnight stay at the Grand Hyatt Hotel (Romance Package). What a wonderful experience. Service was warm, attentive & very accommodating (I have GF and no onion/garlic requirements). Our waitress was very knowledgeable with the wines and offered tastings to my husband to help find the right match.
I started with the seared scallops followed by the seafood platter. Amazing! Possibly the best platter I've had. It could have been a bit more generous with the portions on the platter, but the selection that I was served was divine.
My husband had the smoked potato soup followed by the Gippsland rib eye steak. We also shared the eggplant, green salad & broccolini (all very good). The smoked potato soup was different but delicious. Suited my husbands tastebuds. The steak was perfect! All dishes were cooked & presented to perfection. We had a comedy show to attend so we did the opportunity to try dessert, but we will be back!

If you are looking for a lush brunch when in Melbourne you can’t go wrong with Collins Kitchen at The Grand Hyatt on Collins Street. Now this is not a cheap option with today’s buffet breakfast. Clocking in at $45 a head ($55 on public holidays) it’s not inexpensive but arrive hungry and you will be amazed! So many delicious choices.

This romantic hotel restaurant definitely is recommended for special occasions! The service has exceeded my expectations, the waiters are so well trained and attend to all your needs! The food is fabulous especially the pork chop was done perfectly so tender and juicy with a touch a sweet and sour sauce! The dessert is excellent but would have been better if the spoons were suited better, they gave us soup spoon instead so big and clumsy for dessert!

I've been here a few times for their high tea. They offer a 3 tiered high tea set with an extended buffet consisting of a range of savoury and sweet dishes on weekends. They used to do this on Fridays as well, for the regular weekday price, which is fantastic value, but I think it's only offered on weekends now. The savouries were the highlight of my meal, which is really saying something because I am crazy about desserts. The also have a waffle and pancake station, but unfortunately the waffles were horrendous. They were floppy, soggy and soft. I think they must have just used their pancake batter for their waffles. Other than that I enjoyed everything else. Wish they still had the Friday offer though.

Needing pick a location for a special occasion, Collins Kitchen presented an interesting option. The menu looked enticing and online booking made the process very simple. We decided on a main/dessert combo approach with a bottle of pinot grigio. Both the organic chicken and the beef tenderloin were amazing options and one would be happy with either option. With the baby potato and roasted asparagus sides, it was a fine dinner all around. Dessert can provide some entertainment if you go the chocolate sphere, but I won't say anymore to spoil the surprise. Definitely would go back and can recommend this place.

Went for Sunday brunch with a group and we are all very happy with the ambiance and the service was excellent. Foodwise, the quality is comparable to most better buffet places, ie. they look great but generally only taste OK. Overall, it the kind of place to go when you have a group of people with different preferences that can be catered for by the various cuisines provided.

I had lunch here yesterday with my mum and thought it was ok for the price. $42 is one of the cheaper hotel buffets so I guess I can't expect the same standard and variety as other hotels (Crown, Langham etc).

The service was great, one young guy in the kitchen was particularly helpful in showing us around the food stations. The fried rice was amazing, some of the best I've had. Also enjoyed the beans, chips and a few of the breads, as well as the veggie tofu dish. The eggplant parma had nice flavours overall but it's a little dry and hard to cut into. It could use more sauce, and the cheese dries out sitting under the heat lamp. I just had a perfect eggplant parma at my local pub/hotel last week (Wantirna Hill Club) so this was a bit disappointing in comparison. But hey, it's a buffet, so you can't expect perfection. My mum really enjoyed all the asian offerings, and the chicken terrine.

One big thing that I want to suggest is signs/labels on the food! I've never seen a buffet before that didn't tell you what the foods were. 80% of the foods were not labelled so you really don't know what you're getting and it was annoying having to constantly ask the staff "what sauce is this?" etc. There is a beautiful choc chip bread that I tried but I got it thinking it was fruit bread (the choc chips looked like they could be currants). So a label on that would have helped.

The salad offering was meagre - a couple more dressing options would be appreciated. There were a couple of bowls of yellow creamy looking stuff which I assumed were dressings and that's it. Also it was really just lettuce and a few other token things.

The dessert station was disappointing. Not much of a spread and it's mostly those artificial looking cakes/slices you get at all buffets. (I'm not a huge fan of those sorts of desserts though full stop, so nothing against these in particular). I had the tiramisu which was ok. The ice cream was not particularly creamy - I've had better. There was one hot dessert, sticky date pudding (it would be nice to have a couple of hot options by the way) which was a little dry. It was also not kept very hot. The biggest problem with that though was the sauce. I would have expected butterscotch sauce but instead there was some sort of chocolate sauce and (I think) an anglaise. Both sauces were room temperature at most, so you're putting almost cool sauce on a pudding that's not that hot to begin with. And the anglaise really didn't work with sticky date pudding.

So overall while we did enjoy it, I'm not sure we'd be rushing back here - for lunch anyway.

Decided to finally try high tea here. To start with we had salmon and rye sandwiches, focaccia and mini wraps on a lovely tier stand. Staff were friendly as soon as we sat down. Explaining that there was a savoury as well as sweet buffet as it was our first time visiting. They were also more than happy to replace my champagne included as part of the package with juice when I explained I don't drink much. The savoury buffet had mini burgers, satay skewers, prawns and other small delicacies. I was also very impressed with what was available at the sweets station. There was a chocolate fondant, and pancakes and waffles made fresh on the spot. The vanilla ice cream was quite melted, but the lovely lady making the waffles for us apologised profusely for it and the waffles were delicious. We loved the selection of cakes and sweets, especially the apple and cranberry crumble and scones. My partner and I however did read that there were 10 ice cream flavours available, but on the day there were only 3.
It's not your traditional high tea with just the 3 tier stand, but more of a buffet style. Teas and coffees are bottomless. If it's your first time, please note that the sandwiches they bring out at the beginning are also unlimited, although this was not specifically mentioned to us. There was a lovely selection of teas and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Service was impeccable, as you would expect at a restaurant of this calibre. We had a lovely afternoon and look forward to returning. Special mention however to Hiroki? A lovely gentleman who served our table, and made our experience all the more wonderful. Only minor downside was, none of the food was labelled at the buffet stations. So it was a bit of a guessing game. If you have any food allergies, I do recommend you check with staff what you shouldn't touch. Also the satay skewers were of different consistencies, in terms of sizes and some were also more charred than others. But they did not bother us too much. Other than that, there is not much else I can flaw.

Camw here for high tea and thought it was a great savoury and dessert buffet! I loved the mini beef burgers, prawn and the satay sticks they had. The sandwiches that were given were pretty mediocre, I would rather eat the buffet food. The waffles are a must! Crispy on the outside and soft & sweet in the inside. Also good quality ice cream, delicious scones and mini cakes. The staff was also extremely accommodating.

GREAT HIGH TEA AT THE HYATT HOTEL -- Collins Kitchen offers one of the best value for money High Tea in the city with a huge variety of yummy savoury and sweet treats in a very comfortable and classy setting.

The High Tea is buffet style and includes a glass of bubbly (juice or soft drink if you don't drink) for 65 bucks. I was delighted with the variety of savoury finger food, which I loved as much as the desserts. Beyond the three sandwiches served on your table in a 3-tier tray, which were terrific, you can chose the rest on the HT menu from the savoury and dessert benches, as much as you want, as many times as you want.  The variety of food on offer is remarkable, and I agree with other customers that the savoury stuff is great.  The dessert bench is amazing with a wonderful chocolate fountain, many different sort of slices, sorbet, ice cream and scones, chocolate pieces and macaroons. You name it, they have it.

I tried (too) many things and I liked or loved everything I put in my mouth. I found the plain scones really good and the peach compote was absolutely marvellous. I was surprised by the quality of the mini-burgers, simple but with a perfect meat patty cooked to perfection. I also loved the prosciutto and cheese sandwich, and, among the sweets, the raspberry ice cream, the sago balls and the passion fruit slice.

The place is quite big but in modern classic style, very refined and comfortable. They change your plate with every serving, fold your napkin every time you get up to go to the  buffet, and you have fresh cutlery on the benches to replace yours as often as you want.  The staff passes often to check if you want more water, tea or coffee.

All the staff were just lovely. However, the service was a bit distracted at times. Three guys stood up for me Akit, Maddy and Esther. Another guy was also great but I do not remember his name. One of the girls at the dessert buffet was really lovely as well and allowed me to take a picture of the a-la-carte desserts she was preparing. .

I think they can improve their High Tea experience. Here some suggestions from the High Tea Queen (Me :P)
> I would include a teapot of tea or coffee pot on each table, and have a tea selection on offer. I think that is not only nicer for customers, it is also better for the staff members, who wouldn't need to check tables for refilling that often.
> I would eliminate some of the average stuff  from the menu (I found the sushi rolls average, the bruschetta sub-par and the savoury scone just OK, for example), and focus on providing less variety and more refined cooking.
> I would bright up the crockery. The place is very elegant, all in neutral colours. Why not having elegant crockery on the table as well? At least the tea pot, sugar bowl, tea cup and small plates?

I had a great time at the Hyatt, and I cannot wait to try their a la carte menu.

Collins Kitchen @ The Grand Hyatt Melbourne Good Food & Value. I was looking for a restaurant close to Regent Theatre for dinner before seeing The Lion King with my guests. I checked restaurants around the area and finally settled for Collins Kitchen at the Grand Hyatt Hotel Melbourne.

The restaurant is very clean, pleasant and the atmosphere is welcoming. The service is friendly and polite. The prices are reasonable considering it is located in a 5 star hotel. Wines are very expensive but water is plentiful and free.

I have high expectations with chinese food and they have asian dishes on the menu. I decided to test their chinese cuisine. I ordered Chinese Combination Platter. I was pleasantly surprised that the duck was beautifully cooked with crispy skin, soya chicken was not salty, roasted pork with good crackling and char siu (BBQ pork) was nice my only suggestion is to cut them finer and not so chunky. The whole steamed fish cooked with ginger, spring onion and soy was perfectly cooked and you can tasted the sweetness of the fish and it was not too salty with the soy. We ordered steamed rice to go with our dishes.

My guest had pan fried snapper with fennel and sugar snap peas. The snapper was slightly overcooked but the skin was crispy. You need to crisp the skin separately so that the snapper did not continue cooking. There was 1 sugar snap pea cut into halves and the dish should have at least 3 sugar snap peas as they were not expensive. Fennel was very light on the plate. Grilled Gippsland farm lamb loin with sweet corn polenta and forest mushroom sauce. The lamb was cooked to the liking and just right. We ordered broccolini and stir fried asian greens as side dishes.

Main dishes are $35 - $45 and side dishes are extra.

Yes, I will return again.

I really couldn’t fault a thing, everything was amazing. Even the customer service believe it or not. Our waiter Rieko was so accommodating and friendly and more than happy to take our photos for us.

The high tea buffet is great value. A glass of sparkling Chandon, delicate crustless sandwiches of salmon, wagu beef and egg and cress and posh party pies. The lamb pie was infinitely better than the veggie version. I don’t think vegetables have a place in the party pie and so this was a low point. Luckily the lamb pie made up for it.

An impressive open kitchen is the showpiece of the restaurant, and acts as a blank canvas where chefs become the artists working from their centre-stage, the kitchen. Guests are able to walk through the kitchens for a dynamic and interactive experience.

Lovely high tea. Group of 6 of us came for a high tea and it was beautiful! Service was flawless and very friendly and attentive. It was the most food i'd ever got at a high tea before...more like an all you can eat for only $60!

Fresh food and amazing deserts. You can request for pancakes and waffles to be made fresh in front of you!

Will be back! Thank you Collins kitchen

Lovely restaurant but could improve in service. The food was absolutely delicious, from the A la carte menu. Price slightly steep, but having entertainment card, 25% off, makes it reasonable. The service was slightly disjointed, too many levels of waiters, all doing a different role. Easily confused them when we ordered a third entree to share, but had no cutlery or plates to use, as the "other" waiter had cleared them. Overall, very nice.

Great food and service. Great restaurant in an amazing hotel. The food quality was top notch and the service as you expect at a top end restaurant. The servings are big and extremely filling. Would definitely go there again to try the rest of the many dishes on offer. Great work!

A memorable night.. Pleasantly surprised. The food was perfectly cooked and carefully presented as if destined for display in an art gallery. I had organic vege's on a mushroom / eggplant puree for appetiser, and the taste of this will remain with me forever. Absolutely sumptuous puree with the vege's cooked enough, but not so much so as to loose their natural crunch.
The sashimi was excellent, the atmosphere superb and the pacing of the service was ideal. Pricey but will definitely be back. We felt we got what we paid for and more.

Went to Collins Kitchen for a birthday with a party of 5. We had a beautiful little booth overlooking Russell Street. The food was absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately they ran out of the pork belly so only 1 of the 2 people who ordered it on our table could have it - naturally it went to the birthday boy! Everyone was really happy with their meals however the service was lacking. We waited quite a while for drinks and refills and also had to check on the progress of our mains.

Afternoon tea. Highly recommend Collins Kitchen/Grand Hyatt for Afternoon Tea. Good quality champagne to start. Generous savoury and dessert buffets in addition to the silver tiered platters. Does a reasonable job at catering for vegetarians too. Great value for money.

A quiet favourite. This has become a family favourite while waiting for dad to finish work we can sit and have a drink with the kids and then move into the restaurant for a special treat family dinner. The children are always treated beautifully and we ask for a booth along the window which the kids love as they can watch the passers by and horse and carriage making its way below. Food is great although I was silly enough to ask for a pizza - very very poor pizza but perhaps Collins Kitchen is not the place to have this. Their regular restaurant food is brilliant as are they're desserts. The best meal by far was their buffet which was only on last Christmas and hasn't been repeated since. I love the dark lighting, quietness of such a space and the beautiful relaxation that a hotel restaurant gives you. We make a point of going as a family on special occasions - birthdays for example.

After spending the weekend here we thought we would treat ourselves to the $40pp breakfast at the hotel. Upon arrival there was a line so we had to wait over 4 mins to get taken to a seat. We were more than impressed with the selection and service of the restaurant. Everything was of top quality, and made fresh from the poached eggs, Omelete, fresh juice, pancake and waffle station and coffee made as per request. The food was tasty with something to suit everyone. Would have loved some porridge but was told it was only available on the alacarte menu. Definently worth the cost. Best 5 star buffet breakfast I have had.

Food was lovely, ambience was also lovely especially if you have a table by the window. Food is a tad over priced when compared to the serving size. Had the seafood risotto and that just came with a plate of risotto with 5 small pieces of prawn in a line! So for the price I paid probably would have expected a bit more seafood. Still enjoyable none the less

I happened to have both dinner and breakfast at this restaurant during my stay at the Grand Hyatt. A high ceiling with a warm classic decoration has brought a comfortable atmosphere. With only a minimal number of staff, they could manage well during busy breakfast. They were attentive and very helpful. Food selection was good, and undoubtfully taste great. Meanwhile at dinner time, I had a porter house steak which unfortunately was not cooked to as ordered. It was overly cooked instead of medium. However, the overall experience was satisfying.

✅ Fantastic service ✅ Superfood salad was great - I would come back just for that dish ✅ dessert options were good ✅ the green apple dessert was beautiful in every way. ✅ the atmosphere and setting was lovely. I’d come back for a special occasion as well. ❗️ Vegetarian/ vegan options were very limited, especially for mains. ❗️ “Asian greens” which we ordered, was actually exclusively bok choy - It would be great if the wait staff can explain the seasonal greens before ordering. (Not a huge issue, I actually hate bok choy sorry) Bonus: 💠 There is an operational piano near to the restrooms

This restaurant is inside the Grand Hyatt Hotel. Amazing breakfast is available with made to order hot food, cold meats, cheeses, pastries, pancakes, waffles, fresh fruits, freshly squeezed juices, great coffee, etc. One of the best breakfasts I have experienced inside a hotel. The staff were friendly and highly attentive as well. Excellent!! I'll go back to try out the dinner options.

Had the best experience at this lovely restaurant! The service was impeccable and the food was absolutely exquisite! From start to finish this dinner was amazing! The menu has a small but wonderful array of delicacies to choose from between me.and my husband we sampled 6 items from the menu (2 of which were amazing deserts). Thank you for such a wonderful dinning experience, we will definitely be back next time we are in Melbourne!

I visited Collins Kitchen in Grand Hyatt some time back and enjoyed a luxe experience as the high tea was served with Cristina Re’s signature teaware collection! Everything was trimmed with 24 carat gold which is so fancy ✨ I would say come for the experience rather than the food as I found everything to be quite decent but I do love how they have an unlimited dessert bar allowing you to get your money's worth 💓

We came for the Fathers’ day high tea buffet on saturday since we have other plan for the actualy fathers’ day on sunday. The food and service was great, especially the dessert selections. Not only they all tasted delicious, I found the dessert related puns so cute, funny, and creative, very dad appropriate. We all had fun checking out the puns as we got our dessert. You can feel so much thought was put into this buffet, everything was fresh and definitely made in house, not like in typical buffet. I have been to many buffets and the quality of desserts here is outstanding. My favorite had to be the lamington pavlova with lots of fresh berries and the creamy pop corn cream brulee. My dad loved the tiramisu, really strong coffee flavour and a good punch of booze. Cheesecake was no doubt popular with everyone and the little watermelon macarons were so freaking cute. Overall, we had such a good time and this is such a good value for money. We can’t wait to return to Collins Kitchen to check out other special occasions’ buffet and see what other interesting things they have to offer.
