Early morning buffet breakfast. Restaurant is beautifully decorated and lots of soft furnishings so it is quite. The buffet has everything you would expect. Lots of fresh fruit an cereal and a good hot food section. Had a wonderful baked goods section. Quiet a nice buffet breakfast.
We had breakfast here after staying overnight. All you can eat! A very wide selection of food, ranging from simple cereals to cooked breakfast of bacon, sausages, eggs, tomato, mushrooms, avocado, toast, Asian style food, pastries, cakes, pancakes, fruit, juices, coffee, tea. Very yummy and we ate so much we didn't need lunch!! It was very crowded, being school holidays but we very lucky and got a private booth next to the window.
Great place for high tea and catch up. Choices were abundant for desserts, tea and sparkling. Lights were a bit too dim, wished it was brighter. Other than that, it was nice.
Melbourne's favourite winter pop-up has returned to Grand Hyatt Melbourne but with a tantalising new twist. World-class barbecue connoisseurs, Burn City Smokers, are towing in their custom-built smoker to deliver a fusion of their famous Southern-American flavours with Japanese cuisine to bring you Texakaya (Texas x Izakaya).
Came here for the buffet breakfast and whilst extremely pricey, and service was a bit curt, the overall selection was great as was the standard of menu items (in particular the pastries).
They have a great variety for their breakfast buffet, everything was so fresh . Their wide selection of Pastry and bread was quite extensive . The hash brown are something to remember they was so crunchy but still has soft potato chunks inside . Overall would totally recommend it if you are near by it is just so worth a try!!
Collins Kitchen had a really great breakfast buffet. The buffet included different desserts, morning beverages (orange juice, Yakult, green juices, etc.), and a great range of foods. Their bread area was so pretty and even had its own different sourdoughs! The buffet is very aesthetic and homely vibe. The staff there were friendly and provided great service for my table of 15 people.
I would highly recommend this breakfast buffet!
Buffet breakfast was on par with the others in the city for roughly the same price. Nutella spread and the service definitely made this a stand out!
Best buffet i've been to in many years 🤩😍 large seafood selection and really fresh too (love the scallops and oysters) 😘😋 large selection of dessert heaven for sweet tooth 🤩🤩 the Ginger bread family and peanut puff beach are really cute 😍😍
Been here for the high tea on weekends. Cute and beautifully made desserts, and unlimited hot finger food. My family loved it. The scones are really fluffy yet moist.
I happened to have both dinner and breakfast at this restaurant during my stay at the Grand Hyatt. A high ceiling with a warm classic decoration has brought a comfortable atmosphere.
With only a minimal number of staff, they could manage well during busy breakfast. They were attentive and very helpful. Food selection was good, and undoubtfully taste great.
Meanwhile at dinner time, I had a porter house steak which unfortunately was not cooked to as ordered. It was overly cooked instead of medium. However, the overall experience was satisfying.
✅ Fantastic service
✅ Superfood salad was great - I would come back just for that dish
✅ dessert options were good
✅ the green apple dessert was beautiful in every way.
✅ the atmosphere and setting was lovely. I’d come back for a special occasion as well.
❗️ Vegetarian/ vegan options were very limited, especially for mains.
❗️ “Asian greens” which we ordered, was actually exclusively bok choy - It would be great if the wait staff can explain the seasonal greens before ordering. (Not a huge issue, I actually hate bok choy sorry)
Bonus:
💠 There is an operational piano near to the restrooms
This restaurant is inside the Grand Hyatt Hotel. Amazing breakfast is available with made to order hot food, cold meats, cheeses, pastries, pancakes, waffles, fresh fruits, freshly squeezed juices, great coffee, etc. One of the best breakfasts I have experienced inside a hotel. The staff were friendly and highly attentive as well. Excellent!!
I'll go back to try out the dinner options.
Had the best experience at this lovely restaurant! The service was impeccable and the food was absolutely exquisite! From start to finish this dinner was amazing! The menu has a small but wonderful array of delicacies to choose from between me.and my husband we sampled 6 items from the menu (2 of which were amazing deserts). Thank you for such a wonderful dinning experience, we will definitely be back next time we are in Melbourne!
I visited Collins Kitchen in Grand Hyatt some time back and enjoyed a luxe experience as the high tea was served with Cristina Re’s signature teaware collection! Everything was trimmed with 24 carat gold which is so fancy ✨
I would say come for the experience rather than the food as I found everything to be quite decent but I do love how they have an unlimited dessert bar allowing you to get your money's worth 💓
Cozy café to have your coffee with your loved ones 💕. I had the New York style cheesecake it was delicious 😋.
We enjoyed breakfast so much that we went here twice. Absolutely wonderful food and incredibly nice, caring and thoughtful staff. We will visit again!
We came for the Fathers’ day high tea buffet on saturday since we have other plan for the actualy fathers’ day on sunday. The food and service was great, especially the dessert selections.
Not only they all tasted delicious, I found the dessert related puns so cute, funny, and creative, very dad appropriate. We all had fun checking out the puns as we got our dessert. You can feel so much thought was put into this buffet, everything was fresh and definitely made in house, not like in typical buffet. I have been to many buffets and the quality of desserts here is outstanding.
My favorite had to be the lamington pavlova with lots of fresh berries and the creamy pop corn cream brulee. My dad loved the tiramisu, really strong coffee flavour and a good punch of booze. Cheesecake was no doubt popular with everyone and the little watermelon macarons were so freaking cute.
Overall, we had such a good time and this is such a good value for money. We can’t wait to return to Collins Kitchen to check out other special occasions’ buffet and see what other interesting things they have to offer.
