I saw this place and it was really busy. It was full of tradies at one stage then there was a steady flow of food office walkers. This place is busy!

There are some great lunch specials which is probably why this place was so busy.

The service was absolutely lovely, and the food absolutely delicious.

I ordered a hot lunch of beef and Guinness without the pie hahaha ... that’s right no pastry which is my fav. Sadly. And they had run out of mash so I had a salad instead which was an odd combo but yummy!

The beef was really tender and soft and the gravy had good flavour but I really needed a bread roll to scoop up the sauce as I didn’t want to use a spoon lol

My salad was baby spinach, red apple and walnuts and this was such a great combo. I didn’t feel as heavy after lunch so that was a bonus.

There are some great food options there, so I’ll definitely be going back!

Randomly came across this place in Little Collins, while looking for lunch places near my work. It wasn’t a fancy place hence didn’t had any expectations but the food turned out to be surprisingly good! They have few mains and sides and salads for lunch from which you can choose and mix. I went for a salt and pepper calamari as it looked very tempting, along with some greek salad. Had a good experience at this place and definitely visiting again.

Hungry Big Potato Bear

This place is like a mini food court. They serve hot food (curries, pastas, etc) and you can also make your own sandwiches, which I love the most from this place.

I had the pulled beef and roast veggies. Very tender beef, and not dry like most other places. A great place for a quick lunch or coffee catchups.

I ordered the small salad plate, which was substantial enough for lunch, and asked if they could 'split' the salads (ie have a smaller portion of two rather than one larger portion just of one salad) and they were quite happy to do that. Barley and cauliflower salad - yum. Thai chicken salad - double yum.

This wonderfully warm city cafe has become the regular caterer of choice for late night meetings for 30+ volunteers who all rave about the 'home cooked' meals. Their coffee is one of the best on the block too!

I had a delicious lunch here while in the city for a meeting. The moussaka was perfect and I took home a rice pudding, which was just like my mum used to make. The staff was really friendly too!

The place gets quite busy during office lunch hours but counter service is quick and friendly. They have made to order breakfasts (before 11am) whereas lunch is food from the Bain Marie. I got a serve of butter chicken as my main with creamy potato and rice as sides. The food was surprisingly delicious, coffee was also good and I enjoyed sitting by the window. Will be back to try more.

I've been going to this cafe for over 20 years. Exceptional service and food. The staff are friendly and know you and helpful. This place is an absolute must visit stop in the western end of Melbourne.
