Great vibe and very delicious meals!! The pork belly was to die for đœđ„ and the service attentive and welcoming
I had my wedding reception at Saint and Rogue and can honestly say it was the best night of my whole life. The venues managerâs Alex and Anita were absolutely brilliant and made sure to accomodate my every need and question throughout the whole process. Nothing was ever an issue and the whole experience was so easy and positive. The staff on the night were so warm and friendly, it made me feel as though they were guests at the wedding also. The food was so Delicious with such variety and even options for my vegan guests which was fantastic. The venue itself was so beautiful, in the heart of the city however still so peaceful and relaxed especially sitting out in the beer garden, no busy traffic noises can be heard at all. Every single person who attended commented on how amazing the venue was and also the staff! I am going to be back every year for my anniversary. Saint and Rogue, I genuinely donât know how to thank you enough!
From Darcy and Andrew xxx
I popped in here for a Friday afternoon drink as I was walking past, and the exterior looked quite inviting. All the tables on the footpath were full, so it looked promis. There weren't many people indoors, but being a lovely Summer's day, the beer garden was packed. We were fortunate enough to find some chairs, and settled in to enjoy our winecand beer. The bar is well stocked with a great choice of drinks, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The interior is lovely, with an old world feel, but it's still welcoming and has a great vibe. We enjoyed the courtyard which was full of people enjoying after work drinks, and we found ourselves here for a few hours, just enjoying the ambience. I can't comment on the food, but Saint and Rogue is the kind of pub that I will happily return to, and next time I look forward to having dinner or lunch here.
Visited for lunch on a weekday.
Old world charm with high feelings and large windows.
I had the fried chicken burger- the chicken was moist and beautifully seasoned.
My colleague had the pot pie, and it was amazing according to her.
The service is attentive and fast.
We had a reservation for 15 for a work lunch. The staff were quick to take our order, food was served promptly and everyone was satisfied with the dish they ordered.
I had the chicken pot pie which was very well seasoned, the chicken was moist, full of flavour and there was plenty of it in the pie. Pastry was light, perfectly puffed and went really well with the filling.
The mash and peas were also yummy.
đ±Lizzieâs first impression: hidden away in the more quieter end of little Collins - this place has a big menu and everything is delicious here.
đ©Lizzie enjoyed: I only got a chance to try the Korean crispy beef salad but it was delicious ! Think kimchi l, rice noodles and gochujang dressing. It was so different to other salads Iâve tried.
đ
Lizzie did not enjoy: theirs ample of seating and I canât work out the ambience as it looks like a pub but a little classier.
đ„Lizzie rates overall: all in all a great place for lunch, would come back to try other dishes.
After being told about this venue, my X Melbourne friend and I stopped by for a late dinner in the dining room. The ambience and decor was fabulous and very inviting, with a comfortable booth. Our food choices from the garlic bread to chicken bites to share, our mains were exceptional, my steak was AMAZING and WOW those potatoes! With no space for anything more, that dessert OMG! A sensational wine list and the service was exceptional. I highly recommend this gastro pub and I know the chef will charm your pallet with his culinary skills
Beef Brisket a La BourguignonÂ
Very fancy presentation! The dish came out smaller then I expected but it was still filling. The sauce around the dish was sweet which paired well with the creamy mash potatoes. The beef brisket tasted like any other beef brisket, it was easy to pull apart because it was so soft. Around the plate had a type of German sausage called Kaiserfleisch, it tasted pretty sweet from the sauce and kind of hard to bite into but I liked it. The mushroom and Dutch carrots tasted fresh nothing special. Overall itâs a good dish, not sure if worth the money but the taste was worth it.
Great old world atmosphere.Food was absolutely delicious and has a pub style menu with prices very reasonable. The service was super friendly with attention to detail and they all knew what they were talking about.Highly recommended. Thank you for a great night!!!!
Saint & Rogue has been a long standing pub that I discovered years ago when work first moved to Docklands in 2010. Iâm not really sure why this wasnât a regular of ours to be honest as itâs far better than anything on the Dockland side of Spencer street.
We came in as a group after work the other day and just had beers to be fair but they had a great variety on tap if you
Look past the Furphys and Carltonâs and Pure Blondes.
The pub itself is quite cosy on the inside with little booths at the front and quite noisey downstairs and more dining upstairs... all nicely decked out and classically pub like
I last ate here several years ago at a work funded event and the food was good back then but I canât really comment on its current state although the menu looks good by all accounts.
Certainly one of the better in the area and now that we have been reacquainted I hope to spend more time having drinks here in the future
Lovely little British style pub. The staff are friendly and helpful. Good range of drinks and my meal, lamb ragu gnocchi, was lovely. They have some weekly specials - $20 steak on Monday and Tuesday, locals night on Wednesday - $20 mains.
As a last minute work lunch on a Monday, we had a great time. Service was great, most of us had the $20 steak deal - scotch fillet with chips, salad and jus. It was very tasty for such a good deal.
I might change my 3.5 after a return visit. Went here with work mates and sat upstairs for lunch. The decor/building itself is worth a few stars - looking over at the seating booths & up at the ceiling, there's a church vs pub /heaven and hell/saint vs sinner (rogue, geddit, IMO !!) thing going on in this "150yr old cathedral setting". Not too intimidating but definitely business casual feel. More star-worthy for the lovely staff who were very attentive without being annoying & someone I assumed was acting as maitre'd also came up & she spoke with us to see how we were going. Menu a step up from normal pub grub but offering a good variety of said grub and others to choose from. Expense pretty average for cbd (sooo not cheap). Ordered a halloumi burger which comes with side of chips. Tasty enough, prefer more halloumi but good mix of roast veg too (I'm not a vegetarian). The brioche bun was pretty meh for me, I took off top bun so it was more open sandwich. Had a serve of the toffee pudding for dessert. Enough for 1 person but share-able too. Overall good experience for first visit & would recommend
Could the staff be any more friendlier?? Our large group was greeted promptly upon arrival and the staff helped to get us seated downstairs. This helped the awesome relaxed vibe and the drinks available were of such a great variety. Food is typical bar style downstairs (nibble menu we had) but still quite nice and well presented
Attentive service, great food with gluten free options, and a lovely atmosphere đ I had the Vietnamese calamari salad and stole chips for my friends - it was great to have options as a coeliac!
Tucked away on Little Collins St, St Rogue is an old school pub which takes you right back - think wood panelled walls, booths and a long dark wood bar. Having stumbled across Saint and Rogue, we ventured in briefly for a drink. The staff were lovely, warm and friendly and keen to help, on this occasion offering numerous beer tastings to an indecisive friend. With plenty of little private corners, this is a great place to catch up. Will definitely have to go back to try the food.
Fabulous service, great vibes and wonderful menu/food. Couldn't fault anything, they were so accommodating with our big group! And very patient because we took ages to order - thank you S&R!
Loved the atmosphere here at Saint & Rogue. There's a wine list which is simple and easy to navigate, as well as revisit. Upstairs dining is relatively formal if you don't opt for bar snacks down stairs. There's a clear hunting theme upstairs without going overboard. Staff are warm and friendly and it's nice to get table service in a pub. The pub's food is exactly that - pub basics, and it seems to fare reasonably. Do not expect anything too spectacular though.Â
There's small quantity seating out front, and alot of nooks inside great for  sneaky casual date.
Went into the city to see the Royal Military tattoo and decided to try one of the local pubs near Etihad and Southern Cross Station. Â Rated well on Zomato, we decided on Saint and Rogue in Little Collins Street. Â An easy 5 minute walk from the station, it was very busy, it was Friday night though, but the bar and street seating at the front was packed, always a good sign. Â Went upstairs to the dining room, were seated promptly and the services outstanding, quickly were given menus, water and drinks ordered. Â good variety on the drinks menu and the food menu also had a good variety. Â Ordered teak and it was served within 15 minutes and it was excellent. Â This place is not a cheap eat, $100 for 2 beers, 2 steaks and shared a dessert, but the quality of everything is worth it. Really great dining experience at a very nice upmarket pub.
We came here hoping for a decent pub meal with a cruisey feel, and we sure got that. It has a good traditional pub vibe, was really comfortable and had great service. We shared garlic bread and chicken bites, and both were really tasty and well priced. The parma was top quality as was the beef cheek. We both left very full and would definitely come back.
Dined here about 3-4 times after work with colleagues. Friendly service, homely food, big portions and warm cosy atmosphere. Bangers & mash is a hit with the boys!
Just had a great lunch upstairs. Â Great atmosphere, quick service and really well prepared and presented food. Â Very friendly and attentive staff. Â A real gem.
With itsĂÂ mahogany interior, chesterfield booths and warm welcoming vibe, Saint & RogueĂÂ reminds me of anĂÂ up - market pubĂÂ you would find in an Australian country town.ĂÂ ĂÂ Whilst theĂÂ CBDĂÂ is definitely not lacking inĂÂ pubs or hotel options for lunch time dining, Saint & Rogue is definitely one of the better pubs I have tried. Saint & RogueĂÂ offers an extensiveĂÂ traditional pub menu (think chicken parmas / steak sandwiches) and to eat I had the pie of the dayĂÂ - chicken and vegetables in white wine.ĂÂ Whilst the pie usually comes with mashed potato and peas, the staff were kind enough to satisfy my hankering for chips and replaced my mash for a delicious serve of fried chippy goodness.
Been several times for drinks. Really nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Comfortable couches and cool decor. Gets really busy after work on Fridays, so it can get very loud in there. They also turn on loud music that doesn't seem to fit the casual atmosphere so much. It's nicer early when it's quiet and more casual. Haven't been for a while as they don't have their Guinness tap anymore and that was the selling point for my partner. Have been meaning to check out their food, though, as I hear it's quite good.
Their most infamous dish is âSteak Knife Tuesdaysâ, a char-grilled scotch fillet with either a pot of beer or glass of wine for $22.00. Daisy wanted to treat me to a special lunch, so we decided to try it out.
We really liked the quick dinner we had here, and would like to come back to check out more of the menu. Super friendly manager/owner/guy, delicious steak, atmosphere thatâs a little bit fancy, and less people. Itâs a shame more people donât know about this place. Quality pub grub. Edible Posts has also been here for a mid-week dinner and enjoyed it as well, ordering different dishes if you want to check those out.
Saint & Rogue is one of those pubs that I loved as soon as I walked in the door. Dark stained wood, cosy dimly lit corners and an abundance of overstuffed leather couches to sink into. They bill themselves as ââŠa place that gets back to the roots of a quality pubâ, and to their credit theyâve got it just right. S&R is divided into two areas, the public bar downstairs and the dining/seated area upstairs. Downstairs struck me as the lovechild of Turf Bar and The Local Taphouse â Some of my favourite pubs in Melbourne. When we arrived at 7 oâclock it was already bustling with suited professionals knocking back some post-work bevvies.
All in all, Saint & Rogue has a great atmosphere, a large range of alcohol to choose from and most importantly, good food.
New favourite!. My new favourite place to wind down at after the week at work. The food is incredible (among the best pub feeds I've ever had), the staff are friendly, the free wifi isn't slow and it's overall a nice, cosy and inviting place to go to. Always love coming here! Thanks!
Amazing Food and Service. Had a large group in for a birthday dinner on a Fri night and everyone had a great time! Staff were very patient and accommodating, quite a few people arrived late but we never felt rushed to order. Great selection of drinks and the food was just incredible for the price. Service was one of the best, they kept our cake for us and even provided the candles. On top of all this, they didn't even charge us for 'cakeage'. Highly recommend for both the excellent food and service. Big thanks to the staff that made it such a memorable night
Black Angus Scotch Fillet. This was an amazing steak!
I loved it! We both had th.... I loved it!
We both had the steak $22, was thrilled with the quality and presentation.
The service was fantastic!
Thank you
Great food and service. Mood lighting was a tad dim. Black Angus scotch fillet was divine. Will certainly be back.
A group of 7 of us headed here on Wednesday night for a feed. Very good vibe happening downstairs at the bar before heading upstairs to be seated. Very impressive menu made it hard to choose. Overall service was top notch and food was great. If anything the 400g steaks didn't appear to be 400g but taste made up for that. Will be back
VIP Chilling for the Bday boy. So we went to saints with a large group (20ppl) for the boyfriends bday . Had the whole top level pretty much all to ourselves -which is a bit sad considering how much busier a lot of terrible, pretentious places "uptown" are! Anyways get there absolutely loved the setup, old school dark wood glam. Waiters were fantastic with expanding seats to accommodate for star guests, kept our cupcakes and brought them out with a candle -
Delightful!. My friend and I needed a meal after attending a concert and took pot luck in choosing Saint & Rogue but we were very happy we did! Greeted by a charming young waiter who made sure we were not only attended to with meals and drinks but was witty and endearing. His colleague, a waitress, was just as friendly and sweet. Our meals were wonderful. I had the roast duck with polenta and asparagus whilst my friend had pork on potatoes with green beans, both specials of the night. My friend said the pork was extremely tender and my duck was tender with a crispy skin and the polenta was crispy on the outside and creamy in the centre. Despite the meal being quite ample we went on to have dessert and my friend enjoyed the light sticky fruit pudding whilst I had the beautifully creamy panna cotta. This was all very reasonably priced. We will make a point of returning and bringing some friends.
Work function. The venue and food were good for what it is, a great place to meet friends and have a fun night out. Relaxed setting don't expect high end dining
Some comments on urbanspood stated that staff had attitude, did see some of this with the bar staff not the wait staff. Worth a visit
Had lunch here a couple of times and the food has always been good, portions may be a little on the smaller side but the food itself has been always been good and no one in our lunch group has ever had any thing to complaint about. The menu is varied enough to offer choice and there are more than enough beers to try something different. As you walk in you get the aged "old-worlde" feeling with all the fittings, furniture and timber, it really does look appealing and lends itself well to a enjoying a beer or two! No reason why I wouldn't come back.
Food? It's all about the beer at Saint and Rogue. The Dear Luncher practically lives here. Food works well here too if you're after slightly better than usual pub grub. The partnership with the Tooborac microbrewery ensures there's a good standard of amber fluids.
Best Parma I've had in a long time!
Great food, great service. We told them we had to get to a show a they ensured we left in time (with entree and mains). Great little gem with awesome decor however the music did not match.
Great decor and atmosphere. Food was also pretty good. Bruschetta was only ok but the squid was nice. Steak was well cooked and braised ox cheek was melt in the mouth. The mocha choc pot was incredibly decadent. Overall enjoyable evening but nothing spectacular.
They are true to their word of Gastropub. Saints and Rogue is adorned with old English style furniture and the dining area upstairs is rustic, clean and modern. A very gorgeous pub. The food matches the pub which mainly modern Australian. I had the slow roasted duck with soy and rice which tastes amazing with the meat falling off the bone with a wonderful balance of flavours. My husband had the chicken cous cous which is also flavoursome. Our meals were followed by the soft panacotta which perfectly ended our evening.
Love it. Great for pub meals and a few drinks. Big fan!
Amazing little pub with great food. The manager hovering over new staff was a little off putting as they were trying their best and doing a good job. Great wine list, lovely atmosphere
Tip Top. Got straight in (6pm) on a Saturday night, Great feel to the dining area up stairs. Loved the booth set up. Great customer service! Good variety on the menu and reasonably priced. Highly recommend!
Sat upstairs in a booth with 2 other girlfriends. The male waiter was very attentive and we had fun bantering with him! Very very cheeky lol. I ordered the amazing saffron risotto and I can't remember what my friends ordered but it was all amazing! We also shared a spiced calamari entree, mascarpone tart and a pannacotta with raspberry coulis. Recommend this place! Lovely interior as well. Can't wait to organise another catch up here with friends!
Classic pub atmosphere, great food and excellent wine list!
Amazing! Best food I have eaten out yet. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff. Bit pricey but definitely worth it. We had sirloin steak & the lamb with risotto, Devine.
Quaint place to catch up for a drink. Drinks are a little pricey but I like it for a meeting point with the intention to carry in elsewhere
Ate here with 4 colleagues for a quick lunch. Service was on the slow side however staff were very friendly. Menu is great as far as content goes. Something for everyone. I ordered the chicken curry with rice and naan chips priced at $25. The curry was very tasty however it only had 2 pieces of chicken that were a mouthful big which is a bit of a rip off and the naan chips were pieces of thick overcooked puff pastry. Disappointing. The place has a good ambiance though and takes you back to a different time. I'd come here again but maybe for drinks and nibbles only.
Great Little Place. A great little place to grab a drink or dine in the restaurant upstairs. I went with a small group of friends and we were all very pleased with the venue. The others in my group all had fantastic meals which they enjoyed & I stupidly was in the mood for the chicken parma - I was unimpressed with the portion size and it was so dry I couldnt finish it. Table service was prompt at the start of the night but dwindled towards the end understandably.
Still I would definitely return to this place just not to order the parma.
A great experience!. We enjoyed our experience at Saint & Rogue, start to finish. The atmosphere upstairs was almost like no other I have been to. We were greeted by 'Al', who provided tremendous warmth & humour immediately which added to the experience.
We dined on 'Steak Knife' Tuesday ($22 steak, chips, salad & wine/beer). None of these items disappointed! The steak was just beautiful - I would go back for it again (scotch fillet).
Importantly, the customer service was terrific too.
Overall, we had a great night and would recommend Saint & Rogue to all.
Typical quality Melbourne pub and pub grub. The menu has a wide range of species on offer and a similar quality wine list. My only observation is that this page speaks of late night - this doesn't apply to the kitchen which closes at 9pm. 3.99 out of 5.1
Go on a Tuesday. Steak knife Tuesday is an absolute winner. Generous scotch fillet and a glass of wine for $22! My medium steak was AMAZING.
Delightful. Everything about this place is a delight, the decoration, the wonderful service and the sublime food. Can not recommend it more highly.
I remembered this place as St Arnou some years back and was pretty disappointed it disappeared, as it was a favourite place on our infrequent visits to town from the outer east. However, we had a terrific meal her last night n a Living SOcial voucher. Even though the upstairs dining room was booked for a function, meaning we had to book downstairs and when we got there a group heading out for a bucks night were well into it, we were treated to a truly great meal despite the noisy atmosphere of the bar.
My Mezze plate featured a great variety but the highlight was what appeared to be home made dips - the whole plate was interesting and tasty, This was followed by a subtle and delicate Crispy skinned boned Chicken leg w/ baked ginger rice, bean shoot & coriander salad and chilli caramel and a lovely chocolate walnut and butterscotch tart. My wife was a bit more traditional in her choiuce but she rightly raved about the calamari and her dessert of lime and coconut pannacotta. We were well loked after and as a compensation for the noise we were given complimentary coffee (then again the noise didn't worry us too much - infact the boys and agroup after them were quite entertaining! The voucher also included a bottle of McZpherson wine which also proved a nice choice. All in all - Fantastique!
Pleasantly surprised. I was pleassantly surprised by our Saint & Rogue experience. My initial impression as I arrived was that it may be a tad rowdy for dinner (the Fri after work crowd were assembled at the bar), however the upstairs dining area turned out to be quite a comfortable and cosy space.
Service was friendly and attentive, with no large waits between ordering and receiving meals and drinks.
The food itself I'd describe as upmarket pub grub, without the enormous price tag you find at some other establishments. The beef carpaccio I had for entree was delicious and delicate, whilst the lamb rump with port reduction was vibrant and robust. Both went down a treat.
I ordered the coconut pannacotta with pineapple for dessert and have to say- it was the perfect finish. Not too heavy, but smooth and delicious. The chocolate tart was apparently amazing too.
With meal specials on weeknights I think its fair to say we'll be back.
The decor in this place is simply classy. I love the feel of the wooden furnishings and glassware. Our 3 course meals for 4 were perfectly made wig delicious flavours n textures. Stand it entrees were the pork belly (so delicious!) and the calamari. My quail salad had an array o flavours wig an Asian influence, and my guests enjoyed their chicken and pork dishes. Dessert went down a treat aswel as their perfect service. We will be back, a Beautiful experience!
Go on tuesdays. This place has good food & my favourite steak night in melbourne - perfectly cooked, big chips, good sauce, great salad. $22 bucks gets you a drink as well. The interior is attractive; it attracts a businessy crowd so the atmosphere is not as mellow as you could wish for on weeknights, but the staff are great.
High quality & honest pub grub, plenty of space upstairs and friendly & unfussy service
Cosy Upstairs. This is a great spot to chill out on a Friday night (upstairs) and enjoy a really good meal. Spicy squid, super crispy pork belly and one of the best, juiciest chicken parma's I've ever had.
The tables are generous and the booths very cosy (I've heard Saturday night is a bit more intimate after the Friday night crowds). The staff are friendly and eager to please without being overly intrusive.
Prices are good, beer & cider is better and we'll definitely be back!
Food okayïŒbetter than average for pub food. Service very friendly and attentive.
Nice =]. Went with a large group after work. We were given complimentary chips and garlic bread which I thought was nice. I ordered the steak, this was cooked as requested and was very tender. Everyone at the table enjoyed their food. Great place with a nice buzz!
Good value for money, pleasant environment & good service. Fish & parma were nice.
Delicious and reasonably priced food. Came here for dinner on a weekday night with friends. The waitress was very friendly and incredibly helpful, but seemed a bit flustered. Despite this, I ordered the lamb tagine and it was tender and full of flavour. The pub will surprisingly empty, but I had a great time.
Great. Went there for a Buck's Night dinner last night. Had an awesome parma, with a game of Boggle. The owner noticed we were there for a party and came over for a good chat. Sweet venue too.
