Love their Ramen, although a tiny place the atmosphere is authentic and if you happen to sit in the back area you can watch them make fresh delicious noodles in the next room through the glass window.
The Ramen was rich and flavourful, the ingredients were just enough and very delicious.
In my honest opinion the taste was even better the many place i dined in Tokyo.

A popular ramen chain loved by Melbourne. Stopped by to satisfy my hunger after a hard long day of studying in the city. We were welcomed by friendly staff into their very traditionally Japanese style dining space, although awfully squishy.
The chefs are seen behind glass windows to display their amazing effort and technique that goes into making these hearty ramen bowls and making everyone’s experience very authentic.
I ordered the classic shunjiko ramen with some takoyaki balls on the side. The ramen is flawless, with the tonkotsu broth well so rich in flavour and the grilled pork belly that melts in the mouth and fuses with the richness of the broth in a harmonious way. As they always do so well, the egg is perfectly cooked and seasoned so that the yolk is slightly runny while the outside is hard boiled. My main complaint would be the proportion of soup to meat & noodles, as if it’s just the soup. There is not enough meat to savour with the noodles, which are both almost covered by the broth.
The quality of the ingredients and their ramen bowls is flawless, but I just wish there was a bit more. Nonetheless, it is undeniable that I will be returning here to enjoy a warm caring bowl of ramen.
Karakuchi Ramen was great, not too spicy but the right amount, the broth was great and everything about it was pretty good. And good price for the quality of the ramen. The chicken Karage was a bit dry and a little burnt, not enough sauce given for the amount of sauce. But overall great experience
Been there a thousand time and the black ramen never disappoints me😍
What I like 💓
• perfect late night option
• helpful staff
• vegan options
• fast service
What we ordered
1. Lobster 🦞 ramen 🍜
2. Vegan ramen (mushroom and bok Choy 🥬 in soy soup)
3.5. Ordered takeaway, just a note that the website is not up to date and they no longer have the ramen set, plus I think the ramen has gone up in price... the shujinko ramen was nice, tasty broth, perfectly cooked egg and noodles. Would’ve liked perhaps an extra pork belly. Chicken karaage was fine.
Nothing beats a 24 hour ramen joint that never stops serving amazing bowls of ramen.
You would step it in 10pm and it is packed full of people and that mainly show's how good their ramen is.
I would usually get the signature shujinko ramen and finish off with their green tea soft serve.
Really enjoy the ramen noodles here as they are cooked well and the flavours are on point.Love how we can have ramen just about any time of the day
Food:
Despite being a 24 hour ramen shop, the food is amazing and one of my favourite ramen places in Melbourne. I always order their signature ramen but would recommend everything from their menu.
Service:
Service is good and fast. Waiters and waitresses are quite attentative despite managing so many tables at one time, eapecially during peak times.
Entry:
I've been here a few times and every time I've been around 1am and its always incredibly busy, so expect a long wait at night. Because Shujinko doesn't do bookings, I would never recommend coming here late at night with a group of larger than 4 people. I once went with a group of 5 people (including myself) and we had to wait over an hour - and we were very very lucky to have a spot. I would only recommend going late at night as a group of no more than 2-4 people.
Overall:
I definitely recommend coming here if you're craving good quality ramen. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is very lively. I would only recommend coming in small groups as the restaurant is quite small and tends to be very busy.
Rivalling to steal the spotlight away from the broth is the spot-on, springy bite of the noodles. It’s a tough battle but I think the noodles won out.. I could’ve swapped out the tonkotsu for one of their other soup bases with the same noodles (and oozy ajitama egg, can’t forget that!) and still walk away with one very happy belly. With the weather slowly shifting towards cool, it looks like I’ll soon be swapping my sushi and sashimi for ramen, and paying Shujinko another visit…
Dont know why such a big fan of ramen like ourselves didn't know about this restaurant any sooner. It has become our fav ramen joint recently. Their chashu ramen was to die for with everything that make a good ramen, al dente noodles, rich, silky, full of flavour broth. The pork belly was blow torched, give it a nice char and a touch of smokiness - beautifully melted in your mouth. Never have enough of that god sent meat. My hubby's fav is the tsukamen, kinda a dry ramen that get served with the broth on side. I'd like the broth of that dish to be more salty and condensed. It's supposed to be served as a sauce more than a broth, so it should be thick enough to entirely coat the noodles and salty enough so when u eat it with the plain noodles, it doesn't become bland. Having said that, I dont mind slurping a couple spoonful of that sauce, it's just it'd be more like a normal ramen rather than a tsukamen. All in all, good serving size, reasonable price, good vibe, friendly staff and amazing food. Def will be on my list for a while :)
Such a great ramen place but on this occasion I tried the chashu don and boy was it delicious. From the flame torched chashu to the creamy mayo, this bowl really hit the spot, especially on a cold rainy day.
The pork belly ramen was delicious! Broth was full of flavour and the pork belly was cooked perfectly.
Loved the ambience as well. Such a great spot for a quick lunch!
Authentic ramen restaurant, great broth. Many other options available too.
Ramen, with egg $15.5
Ramen salad, sesame sauce, vegetarian $14.80
One of the ramen places that a friend recommended to me. We came by for a lateish dinner around 2000 and had to wait about 20 minutes for a table. Make sure to give your name to the person on the counter so that you get in line for a table.
The place is quite small and the first thing I noticed was the cabinet full of One Piece figurines. This alone sold the place to me.
The menu has a range of different dishes and side dishes and I went with their Shujinko Ramen. I really liked the flavour of the broth. The fried pork belly was also nice but think it would have been nicer a little crispier. The ramen was really tasty and it didn't break the bank at $15.50.
A really nice option for food, even really late at night as they are open 24 hours.
We went on a weekday while they had the student 50% off promotion. Definitely worth it! Such a good deal.
This was my second time coming here and my girlfriends 1st time. The atmosphere and food quality here is amazing. Its honestly my favorite place in Melbourne for Ramen and that says A LOT since the Ramen competition is Melbourne is crazy. The broth and the pork here are one of my favorites, So full of flavor. The sake here as well taste amazing, can't even tell its alcoholic honestly. I would recommend this place to anyone that is looking for a quality ramen place in Melbourne CBD.
Another good ramen shop! Tasty and everything come together- but only 4 stars as I didnt like their noodles texture, the broth is really rough with solid fat pieces everywhere.
Will come back for sure as it is super convenient being open 24/7!!
First time coming here and I must say best ramen I had so far in Melbourne! Food is delicious and serving size is pretty good! However the kaarage chicken was average to me! Will definitely come back for ramen.
I will never forget, cuz this is the first restaurant I have been to when I firstly arrived in Melbourne, in the early morning of 18/07/2015.
The best ramen offered in Melbourne in my opinion, the most comparable to those in Japan! The broth is beautifully rich and the noodles can be identified as fresh upon first bite. The restaurant is often packed due to its popularity but the wait is well worth in the end.
We got the karakuchi ramen which came with a mildly spicy broth and delicious pork. We enjoyed the gyoza which added a nice variety but felt it was nothing outstanding.
24 hours, 7 days a week ?! wow a winner for us lucky people!
This ramen place is always packed with people no matter the time or day. I always wanted to know was them being opened 24/7 made it being a hyped up place or was their food generally worth it. Went with a few mates one day and got ourselves some hearty bowls of delicious ramen along with some entrees. From then on, I finally understood why everyone is always going to shujinko.
Just an early Saturday I went to get a quick lunch alone and ordered the Shujinko Ramen. I love how everything is made in house and you can see the chef cooking up the dishes from where I sat.
Food:
Shujinko Ramen: The broth is to DIE for! I absolutely love this dish. The warm/hot broth, perfectly cooked noodles to the soft boiled egg to the pieces of pork being placed neatly on top of it all. Its honestly affordable and a big serving. By the end of demolishing that ramen I was stuffed and warm, was actually ready to sleep.
Service: Walking in, you get greeted by almost the whole team right away. They're always so accommodating and happy that you feel generally welcomed to eat at their place whether you're in a group or alone. Another good thing about shujinko is how fast the food comes out and the staff checking in to see if the food is fine for me.
Overall, this is my favourite ramen place and I would always come back
Came here at about 10pm after a concert for a late dinner. There was a 20 minute wait but all good because you’re put on a waiting list and called in when your table is ready.
We ordered:
2 x Shujinko Ramen (or regular order)
1 x Gyoza
The food came out quickly. Thank goodness because we were famished! The broth was flavourful and rich and the pork was perfectly charred! I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better meal bowl of ramen. The gyoza tasted nice but didn’t stand out.
As for the service, it was attentive and friendly.
The waiting time before being seated at Shujinko can be lengthy but once you’re inside the food is worth it and it arrives fast. I would recommend you visit at least once and it’s a good option for late night meals because it’s open 24/7!
❤️ Shujinko ramen ($13.80); takoyaki ($9.70)
💔 tsukemen ($15.50); Gyoza ($7.90)
👍 excellent broth flavour and noodles; very quick ordering and service; hot broth; cosy and warm ambiance
👎 table water does not taste fresh; gyoza dumpling skin is very thick
🕓 very busy at 7.30pm, Saturday night; 35 minutes waiting in queue; less than 10 minutes wait for the food to arrive
❗️you have to write your name down on the waiting list BEFORE you line up!
Super tasty ramen spot (very busy around dinner time). I always order the vegetarian ramen, but it's delicious, light, and tastes very authentic to the ones I had when I lived in Japan.
Good place to go to in winter when you wake up at 3am and wanna get some food.
Serving size might not be huge but the food is amazing. Not a big selection of ramen but that just means the food they have is good because they know how to actually make them.
Shujinko is a 24-hour ramen bar, and it serves hearty bowls of Tokyo-style broth ramen and classic Japanese snacks to satisfy the midnight munchies if you so happen to find yourself in the city late at night. I'm sure the daytime atmosphere is quite different to the night vibe, but the food nonetheless was lip-smackingly delicious. This trip to Shujinko was the last of three food stops for lunch that afternoon, and our eyes were bigger than our stomachs when we ordered three dishes to share. Happy to say that we managed to finish everything, and we enjoyed every bite we had.
Shujinko Ramen is a lifesaver if you crave for some late-night munchies. Though it may come as a surprise for many that Shujiko is a 24/7 store, there is no compromise on the quality of the food. Imagine having authentic Japanese cuisine at 2 AM. Trust me, days like that can come. I have been to this place so many times and never had any issue with finding a spot. I usually visit with my friend and they will put me on a bar table facing the kitchen, which is a boring place to be. You can't even have proper communication with the person you have come in without breaking the neck. They have a separate menu for both day time and night.
I have tried both Karakuchi Ramen and Shujinko Ramen but, the signature Shujinko Ramen is my favorite. The tonkotsu soup is so delicious, and I love it. The grilled pork belly that is cooked to perfection has the right amount of seasoning. The best part is yet to come; the must-try entrees are; Takoyaki and Gyoza. The Takoyaki is mouth-watering and has dried bonito flakes as the topping. The Gyoza may seem a bit pricey, 5 for $7.9. I wish it were at least six pcs to share among two people comfortably. Shujinko is one of my favorite cheap eats in CBD, and I would love to recommend this to anyone.
the best ramen one can get at 4am in Melbourne for me by far.
what's better than having ramen after a bender in the city? having good ramen!
the place is so popular that we had to wait 15 mins even at 4am, was it worth the wait? yes offcourse, what other option did we have(for ramen)?
I had the karakuchi ramen that was slightly under my spice expectation and the broth was a little too garlicky for my liking but the quality was there and we enjoyed.
the Karaage chicken and croquettes were also really good sides.
--Do I feel like going again? yeah, when i'm out in the city till late why not? its good quality food that is available round the clock.
.--Will i go there during normal hours? probably not, as this place is in russel st, there is some serious competition for the best ramen bowl in the vicinity

cant go wrong with a good bowl of quality pork ramen 😍 could easily down three bowls and then some 👌 great tasty pork based broth with handmade ramen noodles that you can watch in front of your table 😉 9/10 for complete flavour, decor and price 🗳
Got a late night shift? Keen to have soup to refresh your day? Then u need to go to this 24hrs ramen bar!
The crew were nice, the ramen, chicken karage, and seaweed salad was a perfect combination to make you happy 😆
I usually wouldnt go out of my way to get ramen as my first experience at another ramen place wasnt phenomenal. However, this place was defs a hit, the broth was so good and it tasted like the ramen I had in Japan (I ordered their signature ramen). It’s especially good that it’s open 24/7 as well. The only downside was that we had to wait about 30 minutes due to the influx of customers at night which didn’t really matter as the food compensated for the wait.
Best ramen in Melbourne, sometimes even at 5am you have to wait for a table quite a bit but it's always worth it! Reasonable priced and I love their massive ramen bowls
I’m going often with my boyfriend since I moved to Melbourne. The shujinko black ramen is amazing and the service is really fast, but we feel uncomfortable when it is busy because the venue doesn’t have enough space between each table. I love the ramen but would be amazing if we could chill and feel comfortable while having the food.
A 24hr outlet doesn’t necessarily suggest quality but shijunku is an exception. The portion sizes were just right and proportionate to the price. The grilled pork had a hint of the burnt taste which gives it an excellent edge. Less noodles than Hakata and less rich than Bankara. Both are pluses in my book!
I used to dine at Shujinko on Elizabeth Street because it is near to my place. But yesterday, I passed by Shujinko on Russell Street and saw that there is a new menu, Tonkatsu with Steamed Rice. So I decided to give it a try today.
The price is affordable, and as expected, it is yummy. The pork is so tender and juicy, coupled with the crispyness and sauce. It would be better to put some seasoning on the veggies, and more on the sauce.
I would come back to have it again, but I checked Shujinko website that this menu is only available for day. I wish this menu would be available at the other Shujinko branches (i.e. Elizabeth and Flinders Street).
Ramen all day and all night, which is what I absolutely love about Melbourne.
After a few hours of drinking in the city with friends, we were after a good cheap feed and decided to try out Shujinko. We tried the signature ramen, black ramen, gyozas, karaage and tonkatsu which were all delicious. The ramen were large portions so come with an appetite- but my favourite dish of the night was the karaage, the chicken was perfectly cooked- moist in the inside with a great crunch on the outside.
As like most ramen venues, the tables and seating are quite small and squished together so the atmosphere is about getting you in, fed and then out the door! Definitely a great alternative to a souvo on a late night outing!
A freezing cold day in Melbourne had us craving ramen & we stumbled across Shujinko in Russell Street. It’s fairly small & cramped inside but we were there for the ramen & there was no line outside this one.
We ordered the signature Shujinko ramen & the Karacuchi (spicy) ramen. Both meals arrived quickly & were generous sized bowls of piping hot ramen. The broth was rich & full of flavour although I was expecting more spice from the Karacuchi broth. The grilled pork belly was a highlight of both dishes.
Very reasonable prices at this 24 Ramen place, we visited during the day & apparently the prices change at night. For a quick impromptu lunch date, we were impressed & left with full bellies.
On a short break in Melbs, we went to this place twice, which I think is the most telling testimony as to how good a place is. First time we went late at night, last midnight -it was great delicious ramen. second time it was on the way to the airport pre dinner...def wasn't as imprezseed.
For a 24/7 ramen joint, I think it’s safe to say Shujinko surpassed my expectations. Service was VERY quick, and the ramen was pretty good + filling.
🍜 Quality of food - 5/5
👨🏼🍳 Quality of service - 5/5
🏠 Atmosphere/Environment- 5/5
💵 Price - 3/5
What can I say about the famous Shujinko in Melbourne. A 24/7 ramen joint in Melbourne...Melbourne definitely needs more of these around the suburbs. The close intimacy from pot to table to customers intertwining is awesome. It’s most definitely the best ramen place I have visited in Melbourne to date. It’s the most authentic tasting and you can really be taken back to a in Japan when you step into Shujinko. Some little let downs is that you don’t get a whole egg in the ramen and only half 😔😔 Also the price for a ramen is quite high, before adding on extras.
Other than that it is 😍
DEFINITELY NEEDS A RAMEN CHALLENGE!!!!
Good bowl of ramen - Perfect for warming up from this Melbourne winter cold.
Our lunch was a bowl of Karakuchi and Black ramen (extra spicy) that was paired with Shujinko gyoza (pan fried dumplings). It was sooo good! We loved every bit of it and the soup was heartwarming, flavors were all in harmony! The service was great, fast and friendly. I strongly recommend this restaurant ✌🏻
Possible real rating 4.5/5
Came here on my weekend getaway in April. This place is hard to get a seat in at night, So I went saturday lunch time. Luckily there was a space for one in the counter in front of the kitchen. The action in the kitchen was priceless!Wanted to try it as it is open 24/7. Got the spicy version of the their signature ramen. To go with it, I ordered their craft plum sake as it said it was made in Melbourne. Can't get any more crafty than that! And it tasted great !Moving to the ramen, the soup was comforting! The perception of 24/7 eateries is that the standard is average at best. But this joint raises the bar! The spicy soup, which is not overly spicy BTW, was perfect. Noodles had bite. The cahr-shu was... crafted to perfection! Portion might be on the small side but if you look at Japanese waistlines, it's probably enough!I highly recommend Japanese food or noodle soup lovers to check it out when in Melbourne town. The wait might be a hassle so be prepared! Unless you come really late at night. I mean, where else are you going to get a decent non-greasy feed at 2am in the morning in Melbourne town!
Ordered black ramen. Very quick service. Food came out in less than 10 minutes. Cheap eats. Very delicious. Great ramen noodles and meat was very tender and had heaps of flavour
After visiting Japan, I acquired a taste for Ramen and I must say, Shujinko really do the cuisine justice. I ordered the signature and I feel it was a very authentic ramen experience. I’d highly recommend visiting here and the fact you can do so 24 hours a day just makes it that much more appealing to me. Special mention to the Gyoza as it is also superb.
The signature ramen broth was flavoursome and garlicky. The pork meat had a charcoal, BBQ like flavour and the noodles were chewy and plentiful. Also tried the karaage which was crispy and delightful. Service was quick, even at 2am and we only had to wait about 10min for a table.
Had the ramen in the midnigh mt with karagee and fresh tap beer is the best.
The ramen is nice, friendly staff.
We also enjoyed the ice cream
I always get excited for ramen. This place did not disappoint.
Got their traditional pork ramen. The broth was good, once i put a little bit of their spiced salt and chilli oil it was amazing. Though the best places you dont have to add anything to the broth.
The noodles really grabbed onto the broth and were fantastic. Pork had a charred taste, possibly too much for me but i loved it anyway.
The egg was cooked perfectly.
I felt there was less broth compared to others Id had.
Overall very good.

A 24h ramen spot on Russell.
The place isn't very spacious, and it's mostly always crowded, especially during eating times and late nights. The place has a really nice Japanese underground vibe, kind of dim, some korean songs playing in the background though on our second visit we were seated bit close to the speaker so it's bit loud. Staffs have always been nice and professional though coming at after midnight, we had to wait for a bit (there's a seating space) but not for long. (There were 5 of us)
Shujinko ramen was a great ramen. Noodles were freshly made (literally in a small room at the end of the shop and we can see it), the texture was good and chewy with medium thickness which we love. The soup was flavorful and it's a bit thicker but not too salty. The pork slices was flavorful as well, and was on the thicker aide, the egg was decent, and it came with some vegs as well.
My sis had their spicy ramen, i tried some of the broth and it was not too spicy, but i think I prefer the original better, as the spiciness kind of overpower the soup taste.
Tofu salad was pretty good, tofu was generous, put on top of leafy greens and cherry tomato which were fresh, and the bonito flakes with roasted sesame sauce completes the dish. I do find the sauce bit too much, so I'd like more tomatoes to go with it.
Prawn tempura was okay, prawn was a bit on the smaller side but the batter wasn't too thick and it wasn't oily, and served with some leafy greens as well.
Takoyaki was great, it was fresh and warm, with nice texture. The bonito flakes on top was nice, the only problem was the sauce, as we found it too much.
( follow for more!✨)

Came here on a Friday night before seeing a show - the wait was about 30mins. Once we were seated, the service was friendly and speedy, with our delicious steaming bowl of authentic ramen and the new menu addition of stir fried ramen topped with fish flakes coming quickly. The portion was hearty and the flavours were great. One of the best and most affordable ramen places in Melbourne.
For a more than decent ramen fix, this 24hr joint reaalllyyy hit the spot! We waited around 20min (considering it was like 1am) which was to be expected and after ordering the food, they came out pretty promptly!! And omgggg did it satisfy major ramen cravings. We got the black ramen with extra seaweed which was pretty damn good. It had a little spice kick to it but not so much so where you’re reaching for a glass of milk lel. And although the egg was not as runny and the pork not as melt-in-your-mouth-y as Hakata Gensuke across the street, it was still a bowl sent from heaven that really satisfied the late night ramen cravings. Have been here multiple times now and each time, my friends and I have left pot-bellied and happy as hell so we highly recommend this place!!!!
my son & wife they enjoy the yummy food my son so happy because of the stuff they keep smiling on him , his so feeling comportble in this restaurant ,
Good ramen. Good night eating place. Gyoza is a must try dish. Takoyaki was a bit disappointing. The staff are super nice. Did not have to wait long for the food but during peak hours it was a bit crowded cuz the tables are small.
Easily the best ramen place in Melbourne. It reminds me of the ramen I was served whilst I was in Japan. The broth, egg and noodles are always perfection.
I visited with my partner on a weekday lunch. We were 3rd on the waiting list and only had to wait no longer than 15 mins which is pretty impressive. The waiting bay was just outside the restaurant looking into the restaurant, that was another experience itself.
The ramen was very good. The meat thinly sliced and juicy, noodles in abundance, egg perfect. I feel I’ve tasted better ramen soup though, but this isn’t to say Shujinko ramen soup wasn’t good.
Tepanyaki balls were yummy! They were made fresh and were still very hot after waiting a minute. Good plenty serving!
Decided to order tofu salad and this is when I realised I liked my tofu cooked. I didn’t enjoy this dish because of personal preference. But I do see a vegetarian or vegan enjoy the salad. It was very fresh, tofu slices were big and in abundance. It was a little bit bland to my tasting, but this was because I didn’t mix the salad. The sauce was all at the centre and into the bottom. Again this salad was big in serving and had a lot of leaves.
Overall a good experience. Would go back for the ramen and tepanyaki balls. I thought the service was very good. The place is small but comfortable. A super win for me is knowing this ramen bar was 24/7, now that I personally think is impressive!
4.5. There was an expected wait when we arrived but also seated within 20 mins. The servers were lovely and polite, and we enjoyed our meals here. The gyoza had a lovely flavour, as well as the edamame seasoning. The ramen itself was really nice, but didn’t quite match that of the best (thus not a 5). The pork was absolutely delicious, had a charred flavour, and the soft egg was cooked perfectly too. The noodles had an amazing consistency, very soft!! The ramen broth itself was just a bit too salty for my liking. Overall definitely a great place for a ramen fix if you have time to wait in line!
Really enjoyed the ramen here. A friend and I both opted for the karakuchi ramen, which was supposed to be a spicier version. While it had a flavoursome, garlicky broth, it wasn’t very spicy, but regardless we both still enjoyed the soup. The cha siu was the thinnest I’d had it and had a soft smoky scent. The egg was a tiny bit disappointing as it was a little bit overcooked at the edges. However overall, it was a very substantial meal and definitely an above average experience. We’ll be back for sure!
Been to quite a few ramen restaurants in Melbourne and this is by far my favourite. Been coming here for a while for at least once or twice a week and they’ve never disappointed. The place itself is quite small and at night there’s always a line but you never have to wait a long time as tables clear out pretty quickly. The black ramen and the karakuchi ramen along with the karaage is my favourite. Shujinko has the best broth out of all the ramen broths I’ve tried so it’s hard to try out new ramen restaurants after finding this one.
Love the Vegie Ramen (still), the broth was soo umami and just nice, the charsu was sooo tender and moist too (extra side dish), always love to sit at the bar with those sick action figures which pretty much everyone recognize!
Staff are great! Food is great. There a lot of variety to choose from and the place is spacious which gives you a lot of time to walk around, also doesnt make it that crowded. I like the interiors. The broth was perfectly made and the ramen noodle was great too. Can't to return. Worth every penny!
BEST. RAMEN. EVER.
Always a line, but worth the wait.
Try the black ramen, you won’t be disappointed. If you can, sit at the bar and watch them freshly make your breakfast, lunch or dinner.
The place is open 24/7 which also helps after a night on the drink
My favorite ramen in Melbourne! This place is amazing. Service is always quick and accurate. The food was delicious, I was very impressed with the depth of the broth. Limited ramen options available as well as gyoza and a couple of side options but what the do, they do well. The shujinko ramen was so good, also had a plate of grilled pork belly that melted in your mouth to die for, some gyoza and some karaage fried chicken, everything was tasty as and came out so quickly. Highly recommend!
Had such a great experience here! Large portions, fast service, authentic food and lively atmosphere just to name a few. Will come back for more! The lemon sake is amazing - must try.
The soup was great! Gyoza is superb! Noodle was so so. It has only 1 dollar sign, I wouldn't rate it cheap. But overall, a nice ramen bar to check out.
I've lost count of how many times I've been here because this place is a standout place for Ramen in Melbourne, if not the best of the best.
I keep coming here because with each and every bite, slurp and aaaaahhhh I'm transported back to Japan. The service is absolutely fantastic and you know when a restaurant has a line out front that it's serving up something special.
Now I don't mind waiting for amazing food because that's how I found some of the best restaurants in Japan, always look for the orderly que. What's great about Shujinko is how quickly you're served and how attentive the staff are and not to mention very friendly. When I go with my partner we also acknowledge that there are other people qued up so we be courteous and not hold up the table after we finish our feast. Everyone should come here to try this ramen because it's simply delicious.

Fast service, efficient staff and tasty ramen. There are various choices from the menu. The place is slightly crowded but is expected because it's in the CBD. The background music is not too loud so it's perfect for conversation.
Excellent ramen - broth was rich, salty, warming, garlicky. The egg perfectly marinaded and the helping of noodles plentiful. Pair it with a beer and you're set to go. Also, they play Japanese 70s/80s city pop and it's blessed.
Edamamae bean texture was tender and the salt ratio was in between a small McDonald's fries and a large KFC chips, the karaage would have make the colonel think twice about his herbs and spice recipe. After we primed our taste buds, out came the ramen, and it came out bold and in a big bowl, and we were struck out by the deep aroma and velvety textured of the garlic broth, big bowl. We delighted our selfs with little treat at the end by ordering two serves of gyozas, just to finish us off, and it did. Needless to say we were all well fed and slept well that night. Thanks for the boys inviting me out. It was a very overenthusiastic evening.
