Hunky Dory - Melbourne - Photo album

Great food but 1 star for rude and poor customer service by manager Sue. My order was great as usual but this time the fries were soaked and dripping in oil, clearly inedible (see photo). I picked up my order late near closing time due to rain and road closures and phoned them next day politely aski
The best fish and chips I've had in years. The chips are crunchy, fish is fresh and tasty. My daughter loved it. And it's a nice short walk from South Melbourne Market. You can grab a coffee a few stores down.
The food and atmosphere were great, but I didn’t feel welcome by the staff. I had to wait for a long time at the register while the staff were talking together. Also, the surcharge for the weekend public holidays was ridiculously high
Ideally located, Hunky Dory offers an extensive range of fried or grilled Fish and Chips, Salads and Rice varieties, Soft Drinks or Beers. Staff are friendly and service is fast (considering the high demand).
Nice meal. However the setting leave little to be desired. Sat outside, and it was the worst choice. Pigeons and seagulls came left right, and centre.
In every respect, dinner at Hunky Dory on Clarendon Street was a great experience. The fried flathead was fresh and perfectly cooked but the highlight of the meal was definitely the spicy cauliflower salad. Fresh and bursting with flavour it was the perfect accompaniment for my fish and chips. T
It was big, fresh and good fish !! This is the best fish and chips I've ever eaten !
The food there never disappoints! And the spiced cauliflower salad is extremely tasty! Tried the Latino grilled fish and it was delicious! Something unique from other fish and chipperies! Service and the manager Sue were super friendly and accomodating too! Thumbs up and recommend!
