Decent pizzas, and the kitchen is open late. Great selection of beers too. It's really just a late night bar, a touch seedy, with lots of ornaments which give the impression of personality but it just squeezes by on that front.
Although thoroughly perplexed by the name, I love to grab a of Brunswick Bitter pint here. The theme is not nautical, but posh and dark regardless. There is a fabulously nostalgic wunderkammer-style cabinet on a wall where there are birds but no boats. If decorating myself I would choose to put in an antique model boat, or perhaps a little boat in a bottle if I was feeling kitschy.
Cocktail menu is comprehensive but I can't say I've ever tried a drink with my own mouth. They all look great and are prepared with flair.
Every food is a burger, which it just depends what you're feeling like really. I understand the concept of contrast but I can't help but feel this is somewhat at odds with the majestic mixology on display. Still, I've gotta say: "I am usually feeling like a burger." I can recommend the Naughty Bird with Swiss and lettuce, white onion and mayonnaise and mustard. There is no perfect sauce for the chicken burger unless you like mayo.
Great hidden gem in Carlton, this place has a great feel and looks warm and inviting, staff are switched on and made a round of drinks in record time despite being reasonably busy, great cocktails- will be back soon
Great ambience, quick and friendly bar service. Conveniently located on lygon street, so perfect for pre or post dinner plans. This place has great cocktails, highly recommended!
Lygon street has very few bars. Lucky for the yacht club! Dark bar no matter what time of the day. Very enjoyable all the time. Worth going out of your way for a visit.
If you need to get fixed after a long day at work with a drink and you're in Carlton that's the place to be ! Make sure to try their martinis , theire seriously good!
Since you aren't flush for choice for nice drinking places on Lygon, this is a welcome addition. Dim, funky and kicks off later at night, always worth a few hours hanging around and people watching outside. Prices are what you'd expect from Carlton. Low pressure, intimate, reliable.
Best Southside cocktail. I really love this spot, it's easy to miss but once you are in it feels as though you've come to a really welcoming house warming. Drinks are delicious, music is always diverse and the vibe is very laid back. Great place for a 1st date or a catch up with a small group of friends :)
Killer vibez. Favorite hang out, really great selection just had one of their fig cocktails.. nailed it! love the vibez here the people are always chilling.. def recommend.

This is a cool place. Staff are great. Decent beer selection (incl cans). Outdoor seating is nice. Indoor seating is intimate. Been before, again today and will go back in the future.
Requested a mocktail (which was not on the menu) and was delightfully surprised with a concoction of berries, lemon and egg white. Amazing service, very attentive bartender. Great vibes!
The vib on the street. Busy, freindly, a good meeting place to catch up with friends. It has a mixture of locals and visitors as patrons. The staff are cool, freindly, helpful and happy. It is close to some great eating places and is open late at the weekend.

They only get four stars instead of five due to being out of the key ingredients for both drinks I tried to order first. This is an excellent Lygon st legendary establishment that has all the quirk and hospitality you would expect from a place that proudly calls itself a yacht club landlocked in the CBD.
