Was hungry this morning and just wanted a very simple bacon and egg burger and Apollo has delivered that. The bun was a bit toasted and is a brioche, so it was a bit sweet-ish which matched well with the bacon (it wasn't very salty though at all ). Satisfying and filling. Just what I wanted for breakfast this morning. I asked for no bbq sauce and they did not put that in my order which was good.
HUGE portions and great bang for buck! The pumpkin falafel fritters were beyond delicious and the sauce paired well to bring the dish together. I was full all day ☺️
Apollo Cafe is a beautiful little eatery that's been converted from a warehouse in West Melbourne. This family owned cafe takes a lot of pride in their food and coffee, making sure that everyone leaves full and satisfied. Friendly customer service and plenty of street parking. . Would definitely recommend!
I walked past the place twice and didn’t realise there was a cafe here. Dropped by here while I was waiting for a coffee course at the barista academy nearby. Staff were very polite and welcoming. Didn’t get to try the food but the coffee was so good and they’re using five senses beans too.
This is one of my favourite place to go and catch up with some old friends food is always great no matter if you have one of the burger to this bad boy beef cheek bendict
Just could fine a fault with this dish
Beautiful building and great art work with amazing wood finishing all around .
Coffee always hands down the best in Melbourne can't go wrong with 5 senses coffee and good quality milk this place has sumthing for everyone and you would leave disappointed... unless u are the previous review who seems to think brisket should only be served America BBQ style or sumthing and well cooked egg yolks coz everyone knows u can have runny egg yolks lol
This place is a hidden gem but I don't think it will be for to much longer
They have recently changed the menu and hired a different chef. It has differently improved the place heaps, hot chocolates and coffees are great hot chocolate is rich and delicious but not to rich. Food is delicious super food bowl, beef burger or even just plain toast with local jam, honey of lemon curd is great. Would definitely recommend staff are also very friendly.
This place needs a way higher rating. Went there for the first time today. Coffee was excellent - staff were friendly and most of all the food was delicious. I had possibly the fluffiest omelette in the world with chorizo, roast peppers and potatoes and plenty of yummy cheese. Very good. Def going back!
Awesome braised beef cheek
The best long black in Melbourne?
Apollo takes off
[wonderful staff, great coffee, and a slick menu refresh - not much more I could ask for from my local. Nice interior, great atmosphere for a drink and a book on a rainy Melbourne weekend. an awesome hideout.]
My favorite building in west Melbourne! They've done an awesome job at fitting it out as it's perfect for mid week work meetings and actually has power points to plug in lap tops!! I've been twice and both times have been quiet. It's only a few months old and tucked away where there isn't much foot traffic. The coffee is awesome, the staff friendly and the menu looks great! I've only ordered eggs, but have nothing to complain about. Looking forward to taking my husband for a Sunday breakfast!
Food and coffee space located in a very historic Art Deco space. Originally built in 1926. The home of the Widdop Diamond Cell Battery Company, home to Martial Arts in Australia as the Apollo Gym, then a vibrant home to artists and printmaking studios.
Now we can recharge our bodies with good coffee and meals that warm the tummy throughout this long winter.
Two months old this cafe serves Mulligatawny soup and house cured pork belly. Ingredients fresh and served proudly with a smile on the waiters faces.
Space is ideal for groups or family gatherings.
Children friendly with plenty of room for all the required prams and pushers.
This venue is growing and evolving into a special meeting place - support them.
Nice cafe located in residential area.
The inside of this cafe is spacious, so you can enjoy coffee with being relaxed.
Amazing toasties and decent prices. We came early afternoon just before close and they had sold out of vegetarian toasties, whipped me up a pesto, tomato, cheese and it was honest to G-d the most delicious toastie I've ever had 🙌
Fantastic atmosphere the food was fresh and yummy as every ingredient was able to be tasted. One of the best meals my wife and I have experienced in a long long time. Clean and spotless in every detail, which is a credit to management all the staff working at Apollo Cafe. I highly recommend this Cafe if your looking for something special as all the meals we enjoyed were cooked with care and fresh ingredients.
Our group of six all ordered different meals from the menu and everyone said their meal was yummy..
Well done Apollo Cafe you made our catch up with friends a very memorable occasion...
Recently moved into the area and was told to give this place a try. Certainly wasn't disappointed with the food/coffee or the service.
Everything was fantastic and they were dog friendly.
Will be back again on a regular basis.
Delicious food. Fresh and flavourful juices. Great coffee. Cheerful efficient service. All equals a lovely breakfast.
Amazing coffee and tasty toasted sandwiches. Highly recommended for any coffee lover. Not our local but one of our favourites and we come past whenever we can.
Newly established cafe in West Melbourne
Discovered this great little cafe last week. its on Hawke St in the old Apollo Gym site just up from Adderley St. Nicely set out with spacious tables and an edgy inner Melbourne feel. The menu is not huge but quite a variety of dishes to select from. Staff are super friendly and efficient.
I had poached eggs and mushrooms... Eggs just right and the mushrooms were absolutely delicious!!! Partner was able to select a nice fully vegetarian breakfast. What i like most is that they've got proper doors and they keep the temperature just right (which is my big gripe about the more established breaky places on Errol St!)
Now my go-to breakfast place... haven't tried lunch there yet
UPDATE: went back for lunch. Had a bowl of tofu, greens, brown rice, snow peas, pickled vegetables.. very filling and delicious
