My family and I love this restaurant. The staff are always super friendly, and recognise us when we return. We love that you get your first drinks free with your meal, and bruschetta as well. Nearly all the food we have had has been beautiful, but I have taken a star off as I have had the arancini balls for entire and they were not good. They tastes bland and like they were made from freeze dried or frozen ingredients. Won’t be ordering that again, but other than that we love this little restaurant and will be loyal returning customers :)
It was a lazy monday evening for us but not this place. We were seated comfortably with ample room for pram. Food super delicious and so were our waitress, she was very nice, couldn't remember her name. Garlic Prawn was amazing and so was pasta. Will come back again.
The hubby and I thought we’d treat ourselves to a date night last night in Lygon Street and we were not disappointed. He loves a good steak and is incredibly fussy and he couldn’t speak anymore highly of it if he wanted to. I also probably had the best pork belly that I’ve ever had, and the crackling was super crispy and to die for.
There was a slight issue with our entrees not coming out, however, the staff were apologetic and incredibly helpful in rectifying the issue elsewhere so that it worked for us. We will definitely be revisiting for sure. A massive thank you to the wait staff and the chefs for all contributing to what was a fantastic date night for the two of us. Keep up the great work!
I am surprised by all of the negative reviews on this place to be honest. My wife and I ate here on Saturday night and must say our overall experience we quite enjoyable.
First thing was the first round of drinks (Peroni and red wine) was on the house which I know is quite common in the are but is still enjoyable.
Then the staff experience was very good. We dealt with three staff members all of whom were very friendly, helpful and legitimately seemed like they wanted to be there.
Now for the food. We had the garlic bread for entree which was nice, I really enjoyed the dabble of balsamic on it. It gave it a nice taste. For the mains we had the Amatriciana with penne which has a nice garlicy spice and was enjoyable. If I was to be critical of anything it would be there was a little bit too much bacon. We also ordered the Pepperoni pizza which was nice and spicey. I liked how the salami was cut into smaller pieces than normally which made it a little different to other places pepperoni pizzas.
So all in all this was an overall enjoyable experience from the food to the service!
I had a friend visiting from overseas and decided to take her to dinner at the famed Lygon st to experience some delicious Italian food before a requisite pit stop at Brunetti's. I chose the chicken avocado fettuccine (I asked for it sans mushrooms which was no issue) and had the option of eight pastas to chose from. There was a lot of variety on the menu (as well as an extensive list of cocktails which is always well received) and the price points were reasonable.
I'm not really sure what all the negative comments are about as we had a delightful evening filled with carbs and yummy garlic bread. Wouldn't hesitate to return
Two very large filling pasta dishes, first two drinks on the house and let's not forget the heaters that actually radiate heat.
Vegetarian Pasta dishes were actually delicious
I am very impressed. Would recommend:)
Dinner at one of the Lygon street's Italians. Competition keeps quality high in this street!!
Seems that when I'm out of ideas will always select Chicken Parmigiana hahaa. Also noticed that if its good, typically all have been nice in these places.. same here. Ordered parma and enjoyed it a lot.. LOT is right way to say. Portion was big and even hungry big man was satisfied :) ... nice wine and garlic bread at side.
Would have been 4.5.. but creme brûlée tackled 0.5 off. Nice flavours but half fridge cold and only 1/3 of surface was hard sugar coated?..
Staff very nice, friendly and fast.

If any one observed the culture at Lygon st., they would know.
We were grabbed by the guy working for Little Lygon, and offered..certain offers from the menu.
Unwillingly, we went ahead..ordered their pizzas, one Gnocchi..the first serving was that of garlic bread and bruschetta...it was good..when the pizzas arrived, they were overwehlmingly good, soft and cheesy upfront. We loved the pasta. On top of that we had beer battered potato wedges, that was nicety nice. It wasn't a high profile place...but whatever came to us, and on other tables too, look yumm. Waiting for some more friends/family to join us from overseas, and planning to hit this little cosy place again.Cost $65 for 5-fully-stuffed adults.
Amazing food, brilliant customer service. Outstanding location, great deals. Highly Recommended :)
specially they have special in menu (Crab pasta ) was mind blowing 😜 and linguini seafood pasta comes in paper bag was amazing.
Family dined here on a very hot night- we sat outside & unfortunately it was very uncomfortable as the area is closed in without cool air...thank goodness though the food was delicious!! Chicken wrapped in prosciutto was so tasty & a large, generous portion, hubby had the eye fillet- he reluctantly let me sample - it melted in my mouth & the flavour was mouth watering. Blueberry creme brûlée was yum & I had the lemoncello martini - it was difficult to stop at 1! We will happily dine here again
