The place is spacious and has lots of seatings. The food in general is delicious. We reccomend trying the fried pork dumplings, the chicken and prawn variation is also really nice. The xiao long bao is a must. The spicy green beans stir fried with mince pork is also really good, and should be complemented with rice. We were satisfied with food and left happy at the end.

This dumpling house was actually more spacious than I had expected, with pretty nice vibe too. The staffs were quite nice and they had a pretty impressive selection of food.
We had the steamed lamb and beef dumplings, generous size and well made dumplings. XLB or soup dumplings were quite good, chicken satay was definitely well marinated (i like the cumin), then there's the salt and pepper prawn which was nicely fried and succulent, stir fried beef with veggies had some really soft beef and fresh veggies.
The only major problem here was that most of the dishes were too salty, which was unfortunate because it would be amazing if it wasn't. After talking with the owner, he made sure it will no longer happen in the future by actually talking to the chef which was really awesome I think.
Overall, with the sodium problem fixed (hopefully!), this place is worth a visit.

Yummy panfried gluten free dumplings texture is the same as normal! Steamed ones not as good (fall apart easily). Good vego fillings (mushroom etc not just empty leaves) and fast service.

I had a dish of combination(beef, chicken & sea food) fried noodle with Oyster sauce. I wanted a spicy taste and at the same time try a different taste, the gentleman who came to take the order helped me a lot and suggested different combinations. Finally, I chose oyster sause and fresh chilly on top.

Been here a few times, pretty much every time im in st kilda as there is not a lot of good food on that strip there. Always went with the fried pork dumplings. Amazing everytime.
All time favorites place! Tried out this store over the weekend when I am in the area. To be honest, their dumplings had always been my favs dumplings.
I would definitely come back any day to try their dumplings.

Fast matter of fact (bordering on rude) service typical of a no BS dumpling Cafe. But their dumplings are very good so I will keep coming back. It's a shame they closed their CBD outlet.
Try many dumpling place but I still come back to this place time after time. they have multiple location in Melbourne. Staff is super friendly and great decor as well
Love the dumplings there, freshly handmade, simply delicious. The dishes were yummy at a very reasonable price. Very friendly staff and nice environment. This is a must go restaurant.

I’ve been to the Flemington branch many times and an interesting feature about I Love Dumpings is the interior which is pretty traditional and old fashioned. The St Kilda branch uses more modern styles of Chinese lantern lighting, yet is consistent with the wooden door/screen design on the walls. This branch also allows you to see the staff making the dumplings as that part of the kitchen is windowed.
St Kilda doesn't have a decent eatery that serves good dumplings other than this and we enjoy going to this one as and when we are in the mood of having dumplings.
Over a period of time we have also been adventurous enough to order some main courses and they haven't disappointment us.
Steamed Chicken and Prawn and Steamed Beef Momos are our favorite. Fillings are super moist and yum. We have also ordered Malaysian style fried rice which has now become a must have if we just want to keep it simple. It's a meal in itself. Stir friend king prawns were beautiful too. Attendants are warm and friendly.
We clearly feel that the prices are steep but since we don't have a decent option in the area we live, I Love Dumpling serves us fine.

This is one I'd the ratings that's just low because sfa people have reviewed it. From the outside i think the place looks a little grubby but inside the interior is actually lovely with service to match.
Great casual dumpling house that St kilda was missing... i'l definitely be back! Also perfect for big groups.

Must try dumplings include the Seafood steamed dumplings with chilli.
The soups are nice , and great value for a cold winter day.
Fried rice is lovely, not oily and nice flavours.
Serving sizes are very generous and extremely good value considering the amazing quality of the dumpling fillings.
Nice open place at St Kilda, came here to get some dumplings.I had the pork pan friend dumplings and chilli sauce. Dumplings were good but the extra sauce was quite average, I enjoy mixing them with soy, vinegar and the chilli instead
Tried 'I love dumplings' via home delivery. Dumplings were very tasty, good texture and packed well. Prices are good and servings are a good size. The only feedback I have though is that the dumplings dipping sauce was too sweet. Maybe there could be options for dipping sauce as my prefrence is generally juat soy sauce with lots of chilli in oil.

We had pan fried dumplings and xlb’s with a side of green beans and onion cakes. The dumplings were delicious, the onion cake was a tad over cooked or re-fried. Friendly and quick service.

Been here 3 times in the past 6weeks and I can't get enough of it. Dumplings are delicious, had the honey chicken which was so very good, had the fried rice and the soy sauce fried rice (delish!) and a few more things.

Great service, BBQ pork fried rice was a highlight. Chicken & prawn fried dumplings were good too. Very reasonably priced too, a welcome addition to the neighborhood!
We had the chicken & prawn dumplings and the pork dumplings which were full of flavour and the Szechuan chilli sauce is a must have extra. Friendly and nice atmosphere. Not as cheap as what you get in Carnegie but still good value.
Ordered takeaway from here and overall I was happy with my order. The inside of the restaurant looked like a nice place to eat in too. Loved the veggie dumplings in chilli and the Mapo tofu. I will definitely be back!
