Went there last night for dinner, we had kbbq and a side of japchae. The service was great, Erica was friendly and attentive.
Usually it's pretty hard to get a seat in a Korean bbq restaurant, especially if you don't book. But not at this place, I did a few walk in with different groups and we were lucky to always find a seat. The food itself was pretty good, and the price was okay. The bbq were good and the staffs were attentive. The seafood pancake was a bit soggy but it was still pretty good. There were also plenty of sauces and kimchi so overall we were happy with this restaurant.
For simple Korean food at reasonable prices, G2 Korean BBQ does a pretty decent job. On a cold and wet Melbourne day, we were craving something warm and fulfilling for lunch. We ordered:
Beef bulgogi bibimbap
Vegetarian bibimbap
Both came in a sizzling hot stone pot. The noise and smells added to the lovely experience. Adding the sauces provided made the entire dish moist and morish.
Service was reasonable.
A good time was had by all.
Always a great vibe dining here for Korean cuisine. The food and staff are always on point and making sure the customers are well cared for! Highly recommended
This place is among my top picks for Korean bbq - the meats are fresh, affordable wine bottles amd soju, good selections of side dishes. Dinner time will be quite pricey, 60$ for a set of meat, but definitely worth it. Otherwise, you can come a bit later, enjoy supper after 10pm and indulge with similar selection of meat, 40$ per set, cooked in grill pan rather than charcoal grill.
Been to G2 a few times, it’s a great place to catch up with friends. They have cheap soju deals! I liked the tteokbokki and seafood pancake! I remember they used to have japchae on their menu but recent I asked and they don’t have it.
Been there for dinner with my friends for the past week & ordered a bbq set of pork and a kimchi pork stew.
The barbecued pork were just so-so. All of the pork tasted kinda similar despite different marination as stated in the menu.
But props to the pork & kimchi stew for stealing the highlight of the night - it was so good & portion was generous. Pork was slow-cooked till soft and easily detached from its ribs & the kimchi was in big chunks so the entire stew was so flavorful!
Would go back for the stew but nah for the bbq.
Would come here for the pork belly. Food in general are good and service is good too. Their beef isnt my favourite hence I would only normally order the pork. Kimchi soup is good too.
The boss is super cute. The new drinks are a must try for those who don’t like bitterness: the yoghurt soju and pomegranate soju. Good night eating place. The food was okay. Rice bowl was good. The spring onion chicken was a bit dry. Chicken giblets was quite spicy but it was okay.
We went to G2 on a Friday Night around 7:30. Defiantly need to book as this place gets very busy! Service was great and the meat is good quality for the price. We got the $65 mixed course which comes with any 1 seafood (they let us change it to waygu for an extra $5) Reasonably priced for the quality and service. Will defiantly come back!
Good Korean bbq. Really enjoyed the high quality meat. They also serves alcohol, the food went really well with soju and rice wine. Would come back agian.
food was brilliant. the service was superb. the location and ambience was perfect. very nice staff and very good quality yet authentic food. I would highly recommend this place for a feed.
Been here a few times for their meat. The quality of their meat is better than most kbbq places, the price is a bit expensive but most kbbq places are like that. They give complimentary sides like kimchi and sauces to share between two. They open till late which I really like as sometimes I crave kbbq at untimely hours. Overall I like it for the quality of their meat and their friendly staff.
Love their pork belly. Came with my girl and we had 4 portions of pork belly lol. I tried their some of their other dishes but it didn’t leave any memories.
I went here for a work function and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere of this place. It was my very first time trying Korean food. I had the hot pot with the corn, dumplings, fish balls and fish cakes. I really liked the sauces that came with the hotpot. I also had the Korean pancake which I found okay ... but a bit doughy and undercooked. The meats which they grilled on the hotpot were tender and fell apart in my mouth. The yoghurt and mango Soju were very refreshing too! Overall, a good first Korean food experience!
Came here for a team lunch as the team members are Korean lovers and the place was literally next to the office and was new. Had mushroom bibimbab and vegetable dumplings. Both were fresh and the chilli sauce was outstanding and went well with the bibimbab.
The quality of food was very nice. Especially the meats melted in my mouth. Also the staffs are very friendly. This is the place that i want to visit again and again!
It is a very nice restaurant. All menu is nice.
And every staff is very kind. I will visit again.
You must visit here tomorrow!😊 Spicy rice cake and spicy chicken feet are the best menu.
I came with a friend who was invited by the restaurant to try their menu. We came pretty early (6pm) so it was quiet, but by the time we left (7.15pm) it was packed.
We tried a lot of things. We started off with cocktails, my friend had the mango rice wine cocktail (900ml) and I had the yoghurt soju cocktail (600ml) - large in volume, high in taste. Ive never had a yoghurt cocktail before so it was interesting but pleasant.
Foodwise, my favourites were the potato pancake, the wagyu beef set, and the sweet soy marinated chicken thigh fillet. I don't have a strong desire to have the gyoza again. The sides were plentiful and tasty.
I got the meat sweats pretty badly, which is expected when you have korean BBQ.
We finished with desserts, which weren't very korean, but were very nice. A nice way to end the meal. There's not a ton of dessert places in the CBD so if you're wanting something sweet, you may as well stay here.
All in all, this is a great korean BBQ, highly recommend.
We were invited to G2 Korean last night and having not experienced a lot of Korean bbq before I absolutely loved it! Being a Friday night the place was absolutely buzzing and how can anyone be anything less than joyful when K pop music is playing!
Service here is very efficient and you won’t be waiting long until your food arrives. We decided to keep it traditional with the beverages and chose yoghurt soju and a mango rice wine cocktail. I’ve had soju before which is kind of a sweet Korean spirit but being a yoghurt rendition this was really unique. So was the flavour of the rice wine though I quite enjoyed it. Definitely something different and interesting to try.
We ordered two entrees the potato pancake and the prawn dumplings. A misunderstanding saw us landed with the fried prawns so we also tried those. We knew the dumplings weren’t necessarily authentic (they are gyoza style) but they were ordered anyway because I love them! The pancake however was the surprise star here. It arrived piping hot and full of flavour. A little oily but definitely very moorish and would recommend trying.
We decided on the wagyu beef set which comprised of brisket salad, porterhouse and cube roll. Our waitress helped us cook it which was a fun interactive experience. This came with two bowls of rice and a whole heap of vegetable accompaniments and condiments as well as the requisite dipping sauces on the table. Thoroughly enjoyable.
We also wanted to taste the chicken so ordered the sweet soy a la carte. This was delicious too and it is obvious everything here is of the highest caliber. We couldn’t leave without trying dessert and opted for the mango sherbet and fig and ice cream cake. These ice cream based desserts were the perfect way to end the meal as they were light and refreshing.
We didn’t get a lot of fig flavour from the ice cream cake but it was nonetheless tasty to eat. Our final dish was the honey vanilla panna cotta which is something of a desert novelty these days having taken off in the brunch world. This had an excellent wobble and silky texture. I was overall very impressed and there was nothing I could fault. Super convenient location too
Located along the CBD’s bustling Elizabeth Street, G2 Korean BBQ impresses guests with smokey traditional grills, Korean style. The multi-level restaurant is perfect for small or large groups and boasts a chic and modern interior - Exposed brick walls with dangling brass ventilators and wooden floorboards set the scene.

Had a ripper of time with my friends here, and it’s my second time here for BBQ this month. They have different menus, I was there for dinner last time, wanted to have some fried chicken, but was being told that’s for lunch menus. That’s interesting and kind of professional I think. We also tried yogurt rice wine, it’s not that good, I couldn’t say it’s alcohol, just like beverage.
Usually able to enjoy this place with large groups but service can be inconsistent. Sometimes staff members may take a while to bring things or even come by. Nonetheless, do enjoy they're rice cake dish and army stew. BBQ is standard and overall not too bad.
I love G2 korean bbq! Their services are prompt, affordable prices and I enjoy every bit of the meal.
The restaurant itself is a bit small so it cannot cater to large groups, but the food is fresh and the meat is nicely marinated.
I will be back.
I could say this is one of the best korean bbq i have ever had in Melbourne cbd. It’s actually 4.5 out of 5 for me, caused it tastes so delicious especially the marinated one, yet it’s a bit pricey.

Really good food. High quality meat, well marinated. The wagyu beef was amazing. The chicken was alright.
The service is a bit slow and given it's BBQ place, the ventilation is rather poor. The inside was very very smokey.
This place has an awesome vibe!! I loved the way the restaurant was presented. It was clean, organised and relaxing :)
The food is also really delicious, fresh and fast!! I was impressed.
Everything was affordable and in perfect portions.
Rice wines & the green tea ice cream are highly recommended!
Had the lunch set a couple of times and always ordered the bulgogi :) no regrets! Good portion of beef and well seasoned. Would come back here again!
Really good lunch deals at $10 for a lunch box with a good variety of food and a good proportion of carbs, protein and some veges to not make me feel too unhealthy. I tried the beef bulgogi, which was a bit too fatty for my liking but the taste was good. My friend tried the soy chicken and he liked it. Juicy and succulent. Service was efficient and the staff attentive.
Came here during a busy period. We were seated quite quickly and staff were super attentive. The pork set for bbq was great not to mention good value for money (ate it all before we remembered to take pix!). Only gripe is the placement of the grill which is on the side of the table. Just meant that 2 of 4 of us had to rely on the other 2 for food.
I am a meat person so I love the bbq so much. The staffs in this store are so willing to help and nice. The price is average, among in so many bbq restaurant. The meat which offered was pretty fresh.
G2 is just awesome, I've been here multitude of times and you can't go wrong with the quality of meat that you get.
They're like the little brother of Guhng so you can expect really good food there no matter what.
24/24 BBQ best in town. Never could fine a place like this before. Can drink soju with my friends all night long and louder. This concept is very good for all the restaurants to follow
If you're not keen on having BBQ then pop in for the lunch specials because they are definitely a steal! $10 for a massive korean Bento box style meal. Very filling and tasty.
I simply one day took my friend here for her first experience to Korean BBQ and it was amazing! Normally korean restaurants I been to don't have a dessert menu but this place does. The food is quite reasonably priced for what you get and the food tasted amazing!!! Will go there again another time~ customer service was one of the best!
Staff are quick and friendly. Price of food is reasonable- the meat servings for the charcoal BBQ can be a bit small, but it's good quality. 👌
Incredible experience that needs to be done if you head into the CBD for a holiday. The food was amazing and it is such a cool experience to see the food being cooked right in front of you. The only thing I would advise people to be conscious about that it is a little bit expensive, but I believe that it is totally worth every dollar you pay.
I would say this is the best Korean bbq place I’ve been to. It’s small but very cosy and the ambiance is nice too. We were taken care of by the professionals and didn’t have to worry about my food being burnt or undercooked. They gave us honest advice about the proportions too.
What a great experience with a large group You'll definitely be leaving full and satisfied. The meats are of pretty good quality and the waiting staff comes around to help you cook. One of the best Korean BBQ options in the area , I highly Recommend!!
We had a good experience here... The food was really tasty and we were surprised that the staff cooked the meat for us
