Had the Feed Me for Two ($85) dinner. Amazing food overall with friendly staff and efficient service. Highlights were the lamb ribs, baked salmon and pannacotta. Will definitely be coming back here! š
I canāt decide what I like more... Bun Bo Hue or Beef Pho! Theyāre both just as good but Iāve been to Little Brother twice, and both times Iāve really enjoyed the Bun Bo Hue. While youāre here do yourself a favour and get the salted coconut coffee martini and also the crying tiger beef :)
A small little restaurant just releasing their dinner menu! A great menu too hard to pick from and some damn good cocktails what more can you ask for. The service here is great and all the staff accommodating and passionate abiut what they do. Some well presented dishes to come out of the kitchen. **Disclaimer: although the restaurant has generously invited me to their restaurant this review is still based on my genuine opinion.
Incredible food and service! What a lovely little gem with gorgeous interior. The food was fab but we particularly loved the soft shell crab bun baos and the oh so fingerlicking delicious lamb ribs! Yummy cocktails also, would highly recommend ordering the Vietnamese espresso martini for coffee lovers!
In 2015, Little Brother opened and brought Vietnamese lunchtime street food to their part of Little Collins Street. Their incredibly popular lunch menu was renowned for its tasty street food favourites and super-fast service, attracting lines out the door! In late December 2018 the eatery closed for 5 weeks for major renovations, re-opening in late January. The newly renovated space has introduced a new drinks and dinner menu.

I was invited here for dinner and brought a friend who knows his seafood and estuarine fish.
We were greeted and seated by the lovely Akvile and throughout the evening served by Akvile and the equally attentive Trisha.
We dined upstairs and at 7pm, the restaurant was pretty much full. We ordered a few drinks for starters - Miss Mango Martini and a Raspberry & Ginger Caipiroska. The perfect cocktails to start the evening.
For entree, we had the salmon ceviche and a simple chicken rice paper roll. Having spent time travelling through Peru, I know ceviche and this was absolutely superb. My guest couldnāt stop praising the blend of salmon flavours along with the texture and finesse of how everything was pulled together for this entree. Big tick for the first course.
Next, we had the barramundi wrapped in bamboo leaf with chilli and coleslaw - shoot me now! It was superb and I mean superb. Freshly wrapped in the leaves, it was warm and tasty with a small side salad that was a perfect accompaniment. Bonus was that another sneaky serve of barramundi was wrapped in another bamboo leaf that we uncovered. Winner! Dinner just got better. My signature lamb ribs with Asian sticky sauce, coleslaw and steak bun bao were āmelt in the mouthā delicious and somewhat of a messy eating experience. Heck - finger licking is okay right?
The staff were so, so good. They know how to swoop in and take dishes that were finished and begin the next course. Their attentive service was much appreciated.
My guest was so impressed by the salmon ceviche he would have had the ceviche again instead of dessert. But we were both full and passed on anything further.
Our privilege was to meet the chef who came out and greeted us with the usual Asian humbleness and was grateful for our kind words on his culinary talents. Iāve always found meeting the chef a privilege, as they are the creators of the meal and yet donāt always see the joy they bring to their customers.
All round, an absolutely memorable evening with sumptuous food, appealing decor and considerate staff. @littlebrothers you have a magical formula. I look forward to visiting again and will most certainly recommend to my colleagues, family and friends.
Congratulations to the owners for not just completing a very exciting makeover of the premises but maintaining the quality and service of Little Brothers.
Notes: Wheelchair friendly downstairs. Kid friendly. Clean toilets. Dietaries catered for. Parking isnāt too bad but tonight we caught public transport. Trains full with Bulldog and Cats supporters from the Marvel Stadium Game. Go doggies.

This restaurant has only opened at night this week so my partner and I called in. There is a number of tables and chairs upstairs which I havenāt seen before.
We ordered some dishes off the feed me menu as the dishes being brought out looked amazing.
As this place is famous for its food and itās cocktails, we had to start with a cocktail each, as you do haha.
We tried a Raspberry and Ginger Mojito which was really good, sweet and it definitely woke me up! We also tried a Miss Mango Martini and this was one of the nicest cocktails Iāve tried in while. It was perfect. If only it came in a jug hahaha
Then we tried some spring rolls which were served w some lettuce leaves and they were crispy and light and full of veggies. Yummo.
Then we had a tofu and a soft shell crab bao bun, and these were delicious! The buns were soft, the tofu was great and I liked the hoisin sauce. The soft shell crab was amazing, crispy and a good sized crab too.
The salmon ceviche was cubed which was a different way of presenting it but still it didnāt detract from the flavour and the sauce was moorish.
We tried 2 pieces of barramundi, one of which was cooked really well in banana leaves, but the other for me, needed a bit more cooking.
For dessert w had a coffee panacotta which was really good, the coffee flavour was there, and it was refreshing.
And to finish we had some banana fritters which were golden brown, OMGosh soooo good, and served w a nice pandan leaf sauce.
Overall this was a great dinner w some excellent cocktails and this place is definitely worth a visit.
I also want to thank the owners for the invitation to visit their restaurant.
Little Brother is an established Vietnamese joint in the CBD with a new look. The venue recently reopened after a recent renovation that includes a neon pink-hued upstairs bar and dining area with views of Little Collins Street. The menu offers mostly contemporary spins on classic Vietnamese dishes including thin and crispy banh xeo, rich root vegetable curry, a variety of filled bao and spring or rice paper rolls. All of the aforementioned are available either as vegetarian or with meat. If those don't take your fancy, there are plenty of other meat or vegetable-dominant dishes on offer.
Now that Twenty Pho Seven has rebranded, this might just be my new favourite CBD destination for Vietnamese curry. I am a taro fanatic and this rich clay pot curry is chock full of it. I also really loved the veggie ban xeo, which is rarely found vegan and brimming with tofu and stir fried veg. The spring rolls were nice and the soft, fluffy eggplant bao was even better. If you have room for dessert (I barely did), the banana fritters are a great choice. What's better than deep fried banana? Especially dipped in Pandan custard. Alternatively, a gingery and raspberry mojito is a more light and refreshing post-meal sweet.
Another reason to visit this spot is the recently redone interior including an upstairs dining area with neon lighting, indoor foliage and street views ideal for people watching. The super friendly and informative staff help round out the experience.
Our dinner was lovely! We ordered the Banh Xeo, Baked Salmon and Beef! For dessert, we had the banana fritters with pandan custard. Each dish was delicious with complimenting textures and flavours. The plating was also very beautiful. The decor and music playing was well chosen. Highly recommend coming here for a lovely night.
Cute little place. I think theyāve recently opened and considering that the food was amazing. They donāt have variety in their menu but I think whatever they have looks good. Cheers!
Owner, update!

Fantastic little Vietnamese place with really great staff. They have the best rice paper rolls and also have a good selection of more substantial meals. Thereās plenty of room if you dine in and large tables to accommodate a large group.
Hole in the wall Vietnamese takeaway in Melbourne CBD conveniently located in the legal district. I had a nem nuong banh mi with spring rolls as my meal pal dish. It was pretty good. Tasty spring rolls. With lines out the door this place seems very popular and chains out product very quickly full stop friendly service a nice option if you work in the city.
One of my go to lunch spot. Quick service, decent portion and most importantly very good Vermicelli Noodles with crackling pork or Fridayās special Fried Chicken!!
I had the beef stew and it was amazing! Gorgeous flavours, perfect amount of herbs with a fresh role. Very happy! I will definitely be going back and having it again!
Regualry visit here for lunch during work and love it. It plays its role perfectly as a fresh Vietnamese lunch stop / takeaway option in the city.
The banh mi and the vermicelli salads are a must. If you like meat, the mixed meats vermicelli is a great option (you can add extra meat for $3 which they are quite generous with).
Rice paper rolls are also light and tasty.
This place is getting a reputation and becoming busier by the day so head down and check it out if looking for a Vietnamese option in the city.
On occasion, I will order from UberEATS at work when I neglect to pack my lunch or don't have time to make myself lunch. I had one of these days recently and I ordered fromĀ Little Brother.
I got a Vietnamese vermicelli salad with crispy pork belly. It was really good and the portion was reasonable for the price that it was. It's one of my staple meals to have when I don't know what I want and healthier than my backup meal (frozen Woolworths beef lasagne - it's pretty gross, but it was one of the few things that I could stomach during my first trimester so it's become my backup meal now). The pork was super tender and juicy and the crackling was the perfect amount of crispy (and still warm by the time it got delivered to me!); it is one of the better vermicelli salads I've had. The salads were really fresh, some other places I've ordered this from have old lettuce, etc. Realistically, I can make this myself for a much cheaper price and larger portion, but when you don't have the time or capacity, places like this are a godsend. Would absolutely recommend.

The Vietnamese bread roll was more like a Western style food rather than authentic Vietnamese food. Not to my liking but not a bad choice if looking for a quick lunch.
Generous portion of meat in the rice paper roll compared to other places. Banh mi was very westernised, but good for a change. The roll was crispy on the outside and like a cloud on the inside. At $13 with a can of drink itās not a bad lunch deal and I will return.
Ordered via Ubereats and the food was prepared and on its way so quickly! Food was fresh and tasty - definitely hit the spot. Will be ordering again.
Little place down little Collins next to Irish pub!! Had read the reviews & yet tried the pho anyway. Asked for rare beef, yeh nah, twasnt. Grabbed a seat upstairs, which is a cute set up for the solo eater or small group. Thought that the broth & noodles were ok but the meat was bit chewy. Having spent a lot of time in Springvale city-pho just doesn't compare. But I'll be back to try something else & for the service. And bonus points for free water!
Staff here makes smiling contagious and one of the sad thing about not being a local is not being able to be a repeat customer here. The general vibe for this restaurant could be best described as consistent, cheap, genuine and flavorful. Although the place just needs a tad bit of dusting, its a bite to grab if you're fumbling with pocket change in semi-hectic Little Collins.
Super busy little lunch spot near the Dear Luncher's place of tyranny, sorry, employment. Sampled today was the lemongrass chicken vermicelli salad and a roast Peking duck rice paper roll. What was pleasing was the amount of chicken in the salad. Sometimes with these salads you are flicking the meat or spring rolls around and saving them, but no, not with this one. Points gained for this and the price points of these dishes when ordered as a combo.
Not the worst and not the best pho I've had.. A good place on those cold Melbourne days.. A good ambience upstairs and enough chilli on request to keep you warm. Good value spot for decent pho in city.
Pork Bahn Mi and spring rolls were delicious. I ordered rare sliced beef pho to takeaway and was slightly disappointed as the broth lacked flavour and had very few beef slices
Went there with a friend, had the rice noodle salad with lemon grass chicken and the vietnamese baguette. Both was really good, everything was fresh. Nice service, would definitely recommend it for a quick and cheap lunch in the cbd.
Had the chicken pho takeaway for lunch and the service was lovely. The pho was a generous portion and the broth tasted quite clean and pleasant, but the chicken was very sinewy, fatty and full of gristle - it was that cheap thigh meat with hardly any actual flesh. Torn breast would do it more justice. Noodles were nice and soft and there was a good amount of herbs and beanshoots. I will go back to try the beef next time.
Crackling roast pork!!! š
That's all I wanted to say, but this stupid app is forcing me to write more, so here I go.. 140 characters yet zomato??? š
Quick and yummy meal!. Great authentic vietnamese food in the cbd. Love their noodle soups especially on a cold rainy melbourne day.
My favorite place to eat!
Rice paper rolls are always fresh and extremely delicious and owner and staff are extremely nice!
i eat here nearly every day!!!!
Highly recommend the peking duck and chicken rice paper rolls!
Fried chicken banh mi are amazing too!
12-AUG-15 : Tried their Pho for lunch. Pretty good value at $10. The broth was nice and hot and cooked the raw sliced beef well. My only gripe is that they were stingy with the beef slices and herbs.
I love this place, the prices are good and the ingredients are quality. It is full with friendly staff and a chilled atmosphere, definitely recommend it .
A fabulous find in Little Collins Street. Little Brother has fantastic super fresh Vietnamese. A great lunch time haunt with friendly staff, quick service and generous serves.
I freakin love this place!!The food is always SO fresh & reasonably priced compared to similar restaurants in the CBD - An even bigger plus is the staff a super friendly and I never have to wait more than 5min for my order! I have eaten here for lunch nearly every day since I found them (seriously) I can't recommend Little Brother enough - be sure to try the Vermicelli Noodles!
This restaurant was a great find and recommended by friends. It was a simple but quality feed here. It had great service, great location and great food in preparation for a night out. Highly recommended and will come back!
Super yummy pho and some of the best fried chicken ever! This place is MSG free so definitely coming back pho sure :) Will have to try the banh mi next as that seemed pretty popular too. Lots of extra seating upstairs so wasn't hard to find a table if you go after the lunch rush. Highly recommend!
Fast Vietnamese food and worth checking out if you're getting a quick work lunch. The food was super basic and decent, but it's pricey for what you get. It's the Melbourne CBD after all, and overpricing is kinda expected.
Great place. Little brother is a cool place. Staff are very friendly and welcoming, food is consistently good, love the BBH (bun no hue) and the place has a great relax ambience. Had a good Vietnamese slow coffee to top it off. reminded me of my time in Nha Trang, shame I had to head back to work!
Tasty. Good food, service and prices. Highly recommended.
Best Bahn Mi in Melbourne. I was put onto this little gem by a work colleague and it isn't that easy to find as it has minimal signage, tucked away next to The Irish Times pub on Little Collins Street. The pork with crackling Bahn Mi is unbelievably nice, so much so that I haven't tmanaged to try the rest of Little Brother's wares. The Vietnamese roll is beautifully fresh, the pork filling is delicious, topped off with lots of flavoursome salad and sauce. I keep going back for more!!
