I have tried the Nasi Lemak Special and Chicken Curry Laksa. Both dishes taste authentic and rich in flavour! Very delicious! š
This place is amazing, the food the taste. I think its fairly difficult to find Nasi Kandar here in Melbourne and to taste fairly similar to back in Malaysia.
although one of the down sides are the long queue and wait times (yes they are different categories). Fortunately the nasi kandar is usually just the Queue to line up. But i reckon the food is worth the wait.
Really authentic Malaysian in Bentleigh. Itās hot, donāt wear your best clothes. You think you are in Malaysia. Had the Kandar with beef, cabbage and eggplant which is nice and spicy. A great experience. And if you are in to rosewater, try their drink.
It gets very busy when it opens when we went on a Saturday. there are queues outside and very limited tables and chairs. My suggestion is to go an hour after it opens. More likely of getting seating.
Authentic Malay / mamak food. I always get the nasi kandar with either the beef rendang or ayam masak kicap. And they really do tarik the tea, not just use a sachet teh tarik. Tastes just like home!
Today's dig ... Malaysian local. The TehTarik and migoreng are a must try. Very authentic fresh good food. Highly recommended.
I will say so far for 2019 the best nasi kandar best roti canai best tea tarik
All malaysians must come and try
Definately bring back the memories
Love it love it love itttt deff gonna come again and againnn!!!!
From the outside this little gem is not much to look at and if you werenāt paying attention, you could easily miss it such is this non assuming cafe/restaurant. However once inside, the place is buzzing with a line of hungry customers waiting to get their fix of traditional Malaysian village food. Kampung in Malaysian is village so expect food that is rustic and honest and no frills. I had the Nasi Kandur which is a plate of rice with your choice of selections if the day. I chose chilli chicken, eggplant curry and stir fried cabbage and said yes to home made chilli served as a topping on the rice. Every mouthful was a burst of flavour. The chilli hit from the mix of food was perfect. Not too spicy and not too mild. Order a cold Teh Tarik (Sweetened Milk Tea) to complement the meal. Good portions as well. You wonāt leave hungry.
Most authentic nasi kandar in Melbourne. A must try, even if you have to drive an hour. š
We were recommended by a malaysian to try this place and we were so glad about the recommendation. We just came back from holidays in Malaysia so we had high standards this place is had great food and well priced.
No frills just amazing Malaysian food. They do get quite busy here on weekends. The food is authentic and its close to ehat you get in Malaysia. We had the nasi lemak and it was really good, cant wait to be back to try their nasi kandar
Been coming here now for over 4 years, and has never let us down. Great authentic Malaysian food that is so close to home.
Great flavours and the staff are always friendly.
Get there early or be prepared to line up. When itās very very busy there can sometimes be a wait for food.
MKR you have gained a new fan! Such an authentic and tasty Malaysian food, I had no idea about it until someone recommended this place to me.
The five of us had all the followings:
1. Nasi Kandar Special - the best nasi kandar Iāve ever tasted in Melbourne. Very generous portion and really cheap only $19.9, one is too big for me and could probably feed two people.
2. Mee Goreng Mamak - also the best mee goreng, no exaggeration needed. Really good spice and heat level, can also taste the wokhey.
3. Nasi Goreng Mamak - not as great as the other two but my family enjoy it very much, kid friendly as itās not as spicy
4. Roti Planta and Roti Telur Keju - perfect roti texture. Really cheap and tasty.
Will be back for sure. Iād like to try nasi lemak next time.
Delicious authentic Malaysian restaurant. Nasi kandar is the best, generous portion and full of flavour. Nasi goreng is another delicious item on the menu. The place is not too big and can get very crowded easily. But you can always order for take away. Highly recommended!
The wonderful smell you get when you walk through the doors takes you back to the hawker stalls in Malaysia.
The dishes are wondefully tasty and authentic. I had the fish curry, fried chicken and roti and both were yum š
The best Malaysian food in Australia! Everythingās delicious, been here every week since early 2020, never let me down! Friendly staff! Love it xx
Weekly
Authentic and flavourful Malaysian food. Every single curry we had tasted amazing. Long line and limited seating so plan to takeaway if youāre in a rush.
The food is really good, staffs are friendly too! Gets crowded pretty quickly during peak hours. Def recommending this place to try out!
Iāve been to this place only twice but iām completely in love! Being a Malaysian, Iām very particular about the flavours and authenticity of the Malaysian food I have, here in Australia. This place ticked all the boxes! Perfectly authentic and reminded me of home from the very first bite. So happy to have found this new place. They have Nasi Kandar and make Mamak food as well which is a hard find in Melbourne, really. Their Roti canai was just perfect! The exact thing I have been eating since I was a child. Their Nasi Kandar is literally the highlight of their restaurant, and again, tasted just like back home! Everything I have tried so far, has been delicious - their Nasi lemak, included. The staff are so friendly and provide great service. I will most definitely keep coming back here!
