Recently opened chinese restaurant inside Midcity Arcade. Simple & clean interior with bunch of HK style posters on the wall :) Tried their dumplings and black bean beef noodles - tasted pretty good! Nothing outstanding but a quiet place to grab food with your friends.
A clean, modest eatery in a pokey arcade serving up big flavours. The dumplings and noodles are absolutely delicious. Service is rather leisurely though which was fine as we were holidaying in town and weren’t in a particular rush.
Came here on EatClub with 30% off the total bill.
Ordered:
Yang Zhou Special Fried Rice $11.8 🍚
Shanghai Traditional Pan Fried Pork Dumpling $12.80 🥟
Fried rice 🍚 The fried rice was good, I liked the taste of it. Generous use of ingredients and really decent portion size.
Shanghai Pan Fried Dumpling 🥟 Juicy - literally the juice spilt out when I took a bit. Tasted really good.Skin wasn’t too think & generous meat filling. I did however find the dumplings rather oily but I guess it’s expected for pan fried dumplings.
Service however was a let down, reckon we’ll waited a good 20-30 minutes for our dishes to get served. And considering the restaurant was very quiet with 3-4 tables occupied, extreme slow service. I did however notice that they received many food deliveries order and they seemed to be prioritising those orders.
This is has been one of my frequent places for lunch in CBD when they have their deals on EatClub.
I always the authentic Shanghai Fried Noodles and a serve of their pork and cabbage dumplings.
The owner David is friendly and if you have any questions, he is more than happy to help you.
The only problem is the long waiting time, even though there isn't many people when I was there.
This was the second time we dined at NTNH. We really like the place both times. It’s so clean with really nice staff. We loved all our dishes. Shanghai dumplings, flat noodles, fried rice and honey chicken. Very nice and clean presentation and well priced. It is definitely above average in China Town. Recommend
I was hearing a lot of good things about Nong Tang noodle house online so I decided to go there this week, I was impressed with the food that I got to eat here. This place is in a small alley in China Town. The hosts are really nice and polite and will guide you to your table when you enter. They had very calm and soothing instrumental music on when I went there which created a very nice atmosphere inside the restaurant.
Really delicious and it’s the best fried rice I ever have. Also the fried pork really yummy.
Fried Rice taste good and service was good

Strangely quiet dinner time. So good time to try a new place. The waitress knew the menu very well and introduce to a few signature dishes.

The lunch menu seems well price .
Everything is so good here. This is a good place for people to have a chat and relaxed
A really cozy place to have traditional Shanghai dishes. The Shanghai traditional noodle and the pork meatballs were really good and got a really good service. Maybe next time I’ll try some dumplings( they look good).
Really nice dumplings. The pan fried pork dumplings were juicy and the skin was nice and thin. Would definitely return.
Came here with Zomato Gold which was accepted. Ordered some of the soup noodles and they tasted nice (though there's one dried noodle or reminded me of despite them stating they're store-made) Although, without Zomato Gold, for $13+, there's better noodle places around the CBD.
The atmosphere of the place was relaxed, clean with classical music playing. Definitely one of the nicest looking restaurants at this price point.
Dining in @nongtangfood gives you a feel that you’re dining in one of the eateries in Shanghai. The family owned restaurant showcases amazing Shanghainese food they grew up eating back in China. Nong Tang has a very cosy decor and is located in @midcityshopping arcade. They are popular for their yang chun noodles and dry noodles. We tried and loved the texture of the noodles. Nothing beats in house homemade noodles. There are side dishes and toppings to accompany your noodles. The scallion pancakes are a favourite too, they are light and crispy. Nothing beats a bowl of piping hot noodles in this Melbourne weather.
Traditional fried dumplings were super delicious, good prices and friendly staff
Wow. This place is amazing. Fresh dumplings one of the best and great noodles. What is great is the amazing service that you don't get elsewhere at this price.
Without being to descriptive and elaborate, we will, in very few words say "This is one of the best Shanghai Street Food related Restaurant in Melbourne"
We always say that it's very difficult to do simple food because you are not overdosing food with too many flavors, and if you can make a simple food shine-out by delivering simple flavors that one is familiar with, you have won the hearts. Nong Tang Noodle House has won ours.
Not in mood to have broth we ordered a dry noodle with duck, dry noodle with beef and Chilly Wontons. From the hand made noodles to perfectly cooked meat to the flavors to melt-in-your-mouth Wantons which were soaking in the balanced flavors of sweet, savory and spicy broth......Everything was top-notch.
One does not need 5 star ambience or overly-priced or rare ingredients that are sources from another country or extremely proficient staff to grab 5 / 5.
Simple and Clean ambience (no matter how small), happy hosts, and a very flavorful food is enough to to score Uno.
Not much for vegans and vegetarians but haven for Meat Lovers.
Actually i'd give 4.5/5.
Coming here using zomato gold. They have good service, food came out quick, food is good! Love their fried rice, will come again sometime to try different menus
Waitress was very nice and I saw her being apologetic to other customers when she did something wrong, which is ok.
The food I ordered was not bad and I loved the fried pork with my noodles. However, I think there should be a bit more toppings such as the bok choy as there were only 2 small ones insides. I think there should be like 4 bok choys so that you can eat a bit more with your noodles. The portion size was not bad for the price. The food was not overwhelming with salt and this is really nice!
Also they allowed zomato gold members to buy 1 and get 1 free so it’s nice and i’ll definitely be back here one day!
4.5/5
Without Zomato Gold, i would have never discovered this gem. This shop is cute & clean. The service is lovely 😊
I ordered Soup noodle with braised beef and It was delicious, full-on flavour.
The fried noodle is not my cup of tea. Just because I’m not used to this type of noodle.
Will come back to try the other soup noodle & dumplings 😆
We loved 😍
The price here was definitely value for money. Food came out very quickly also.
We really liked the seafood noodles with xo sauce. The wonton sauce was delicious also but serving size was a little small.
We disliked 😖
Don’t order the meatballs. Not a fan of these.
Hidden little place, however does provide some decent food. Cant go wrong with the chicken and prawn dumplings or the shanhai dumplings! Also rice noodles n beef were a hit for me, but more on the oily side of things. Service was great too! Would give a 3.8/5
Also, check out eatclub for discounts for this place!
One of the best affordable dumplings in Melbourne CBD. Friendly staff and cozy environment with soothing music. Love the seafood xo fried rice which is a must try
Been here more than 5 times and couldn’t be more satisfied
We came to Nong Tang a cute Shanghainese restaurant in a hidden arcade in Chinatown . This is a true hidden gem!
We came on a Friday night and it was extremely busy which is always great to see
We had spring onion noodle soup, xiao long bao, salted chicken , kao fu and pan friend dumplings
The dumplings were so good! There was soup inside and the base was so crunchy, the xiao long bao was also great heaps of soup inside ! The kao fu which is a wheat sponge like dish was flavoured well, I prefer a sweeter taste for this however
The spring onion noodles was true to taste , the home made noodles really are a testament to the skills of the chef
Thanks so much for having us!
Was very impressed with the little restaurant tucked away in one of the city arcades. Cosy atmosphere. Food was super delicious! Thought the traditional dumplings were so delicious as was their beef dish. Very tender beef! Would highly recommend.
Nong Tang Noodle House is located in a busy arcade which you wouldn't know about from the outside street. The restaurant is small but cosy, the staff fantastic. Our waiter was so lovely and friendly, thank you very much.
The menu here is really good and not too complicated either by a thousand pages of things to order. We started with the pork dumplings with chilli oil, prawn and chicken dumplings and for main we had the special fried rice and beef in a pepper sauce.
Everything we ate was delicious and full of flavour with really good ingredients. The portion sizes were generous and we were very satisfied with our meal.
I would like to thank Nong Tang for the invite, we had a great time.
Food: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Service: ⭐️⭐️
Price: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
It’s a good restaurant to eat some good dumplings in the city.
The restaurant: is simply, but clean and very organised.
The service: the food took a long time to come and it came in different times, which is something I really doesn’t like.
The food: I ordered beef with cabbage dumpling and pork with chilli oil and the tick rice fried noddle with beef. The dumpling is good, the dumpling have a good price for the amount. The dumpling was a little bit thick but the filling was tasty and well prepared. The noddle is good but is I barely saw a beef in there.
Do I recommend? YES
Nong Tang noodle house seems to be a favourite during lunch time as workers come in groups. We also went during lunch time and managed to get a table for two.
We ordered some Shanghai braised pork meatballs in soy sauce and Shanghai traditional pan fried pork dumplings to share. The pork meatballs were really tender, soft and breaks apart when you fork it. It is full of flavour and cooked perfectly.
The pan fried pork dumplings were really crispy on the bottom, but the skin was a bit thick so this dish was my least favourite as personal choice.
We also ordered the mains: I got the Dry noodles with green pepper and shredded pork. The toppings were generously piled on top. The noodles were nice and cooked well - the sauce/broth was very light in flavour so overall this dish wasn't very salty or flavourful. This noodle dish would match perfectly with the pork meatballs - which was a choice on the menu!
The Soup noodles with duck maryland with soy sauce had really flavourful broth and duck meat. I liked this dish. The soup was really nice.
Thanks for the experience, Nong Tang Noodle House!
This place takes me back to Shanghai. The food here is from China and its authentic. As a Noodle soup place that was there stand out. Great broth and fresh home made noodle. The chilli wonton soup was the best I've had and there specialty. ***Disclaimer: although the restaurant has generously invited me to their restaurant this review is still based on my genuine opinion.
Nong Tang Noodle House is a hidden gem Shanghainese Chinese Restaurant situated in Melbourne’s Midcity Arcade (Chinatown). They offer an authentic and the best of home cooked Shanghainese Chinese cuisine. Here we take you to explore about the food, service and our verdict from the invitation we received by Nong Tang Noodle House Team.
Nong Tang is a hidden gem off Little Bourke St. You won't see this walking through China Town unless you stumble in Mid City arcade. I was invited by the owner to try an array of dishes and I decided to take some friends who have recently moved to Melbourne.
The stars were the pot stickers, and the pan fried beef dumplings. I must admit, the dumplings looked rather exquisite. My friends enjoyed the other dishes including the roast duck, steamed greens in oyster sauce and the hor fun noods.
The flavour balance in the chilli oil dumplings could use some minor tweaks. It was a bit too sweet for my liking. There are other places that have better chilli oil dumplings like HuTong, Dumplings Plus, Din Tai Fung. It's not a deal breaker but I wouldn't order these again - but presentation was great.
That said, I love how hidden and no frills this place is. I could easily be in some off the beaten track mall in Hong Kong or Singapore, and that made me feel really happy.
Me and my friends enjoyed our experience at Nong Tang - this is what Chinatown is all about, and we didn't leave hungry. Get the dumplings and the pot stickers, share some greens and you'll be really happy.
If you’re looking for a good family restaurant that brings together a nice authentic blend of Asian culture and cuisine, Nong Tang Noodle House does just that. You’ll find this eatery located inside Melbourne’s Midcity Arcade (in Chinatown).
The interior is simple, with Chinese-themed decoration placed throughout the store. With a clean but minimalistic look, there’s a calm and homely feel to the ambience as soft classical music plays in the background.
Specialising in Shanghainese Chinese cuisine, the menu has a variety of options including house-made dumplings and noodles. We ordered the pan-fried pork dumplings which were surprisingly like xia long baos - filled with hot soup/ broth. We found them to be very tasty, thin-skinned and crunchy.
Meanwhile, we ordered the noodle soup with Duck Maryland in soy sauce. The noodles were delicious but the soup was subtle in flavour. The duck also had a few too many bones so be careful when biting the pieces.
Perhaps the best plate of the day for us was a new dish that’s been added to the menu = stir-fried egg with tomato. In China, this is a very common recipe. In Melbourne, we haven’t seen many restaurants that serve it and serve it well. But Nong Tang Noodle House has nailed this dish. The eggs were fluffy and soaked in a sweet and savoury marinated tomato sauce.
Overall, we had a wonderful dining experience here. The service was fast and the waitress was friendly. The food is delicious and meets its description. Price is also affordable. A perfect place to share some food with friends in a relaxing environment.
If you look hard enough, you will find this hidden gem.
The white-tiled walls in Nong Tang are a pleasant sight, and a point of difference from old school Chinatown restaurants where comfort and cleanliness are sometimes lacking. Nong Tang not only has those down scratch, but also hit the spot with its service and quality of the food.
With so many alluring dishes on the menu, we were stumped as to what to order. We decided to leave our fate in the hands of the waitress and asked her to recommend the signature dishes to us, and we just went with that.
She definitely did a great job as we were thoroughly impressed with what we had. We started off with entrees consisting of the Duck Maryland with Soy Sauce, and Shanghai Braised Pork Meatballs. The former was wonderfully succulent and flavourful, having absorbed the robust flavours of the marinade. The latter was one of the best Shanghai meatballs that I have tried - oversized balls of delicious minced pork that held it's shape very well, and the accompanying sauce oozed richness and intense savouriness.
The traditional pan-fried pork dumplings really impressed me. The dumpling skin was silky thin, and the base has been pan-fried to an addictively delicious crisp. Bite into this morsel of yum, and I was greeted by a chunk of juicy minced pork, and delicate soup flowing from within.
The last and final dish was the dry noodles with salted chicken maryland. If you like your food deeply savoury, this chicken will rock your boat! Moist and tender, and salty without being too in your face. The noodles were cooked beautifully, and the spring onions, both raw and cooked, added a sharp taste to the dish.
It was a faultless meal that did it's job in showcasing homely and delicious Shanghainese cuisine. Thank you for the invite!
Nong Tang Noodle House has some awesome housemade noodles, as the name would suggest. It's an affordable place with a simple but enjoyable ambiance. They recently expanded the menu to include a few extra vegan options including a mock-meat style tofu dish which I tried dry. The tofu is surprisingly juicy and has a great savoury flavour which compliments the sauce-free noodles really nicely. I also got the pan fried veg dumplings (always a great choice here) and the wheat gluten with black mushroom (similar to the tofu in the noodle dish but slightly more sour). Surprisingly, my favourite dish of all on this visit was the garlic Chinese broccoli, as the sauce was so richly flavoured and the greens so tender. A hot tea finished off my perfectly balanced meal.
This is a case of don’t judge a book by its cover. Walking through the busy hallways of Midcity Arcade, Nong Tang Noodle House looks like your typical Chinese restaurant however its a hidden gem!
The restaurant is fairly new. I love how clean, simple and traditional the restaurant looks. The black, white and red accents gives off an authentic vibe. It’s quite a small and cosy restaurant but can fit plenty of people, perfect for a night out with families and friends.
The menu is extensive. There’s a lot of options to choose from (but not too overwhelming). There are plenty of different dishes to choose from - asian and western Chinese food. The dishes are decently priced as well.
The service was quite quick. We ordered a bunch of dishes and they came out one after the other. The helpful waitress gave us some recommendations. She advised that the pan fried pork dumplings were a go to and the Shanghai fried noodles. There’s also a menu where you can choose to eat you noodle dishes dry or in a soup.
We ordered:
Shanghai tradition pan fried Pork Dumplings - I really enjoyed this dish. It was presented very nicely. The meat was delicious and the skin of the dumpling was silky and smooth. What stood out to me was how juicy and flavoursome the dumpling was. Definitely give this a try when you’re here!
Pork and prawn Wonton in chilli oil - I enjoyed these wonton due to the fact that it wasn’t as spicy as I thought it would be. Don’t get me wrong, it still gave me a little kick but it’s the perfect amount of spiciness to enjoy the wontons. I liked the filling of the wontons however it lacked a bit of flavour for me.
Xiao Long Bao - This really hit the spot! I absolutely loved how juicy and soupy the xiao long bao’s were . The moment you popped them open the soup was just filled with that porkish flavour. Would defs recommend this dish!
Shanghai fried noodles - I enjoyed these noodles since they weren’t as oily as some other shanghai fried noodles I’ve had in the past. The noodles were bit hard for my liking but my partner enjoyed it (each to their own). The flavours were half way there for me. It just didn’t have that oufff factor.
Nong Tang Salted Chicken Maryland - the portion was quite small so it’s the perfect entree dish to nibble on. The chicken was flavoursome. Some parts of the chicken was quite tender and juicy and some parts were quite dry.
Custard bun - I love me some custard buns anywhere so m these did not disappoint! Great way to finish off a great dinner.
Overall, if you’re looking for great Chinese food in the city with fast service, definitely give this one a try.
Thank you for having us. :)
This is my kind of place. Great food and no frills.
My partner and I visited this restaurant and it was excellent. We initially started with the soup noodles w a pork chop and the pork was crumbed and the flavour was delicious. We opted for dry noodles which went really well, and all the noodles were locally made and they were al dente. Just perfect.
The spring onion pancake was light and crispy, buttery and fantastic! Yummo
My shanghai stir fried noodle w shredded pork was great, once again the noodles were delicious, the sauce tasty and we gulped this down hahaha
Then to finish we had the Shanghai traditional pan fried pork dumplings and these were one my my favourite dishes. The dumpling wrappers were thin, the pork was amazing, w some chives in the mix and they were cooked perfectly!
It was a fantastic night and this place was packed from the time we entered till the time we left. No surprises there lol.
Thanks to the owner for the very kind invitation to visit their restaurant. This place is definitely worth a visit!
Nong Tang Noodle House is a hidden gem serving authentic Shanghainese cuisine! Like the name suggests, the restaurant is located in an alleyway between Bourke and Little Bourke Street (nong tang = alleyway in Shanghai).
It’s a very cute and humble place. The venue is clean and spacious, with nice and bright lighting. Along the walls are photographs of Shanghai as well as Chinese decorations.
The menu is extensive, and ranges from dumplings to noodles to larger sharing dishes! There’s also plenty of vegetarian options too. We ordered a variety of dishes to share between us, the main highlights being:
Shanghai Traditional Pan-Fried Pork Dumplings: this is their signature dish and it definitely doesn’t disappoint! It’s quite unique - the bottom is extra crispy, the wrapper is very thin, and the pork filling is tender and juicy. Each dumpling is the perfect bite-size to pop in your mouth!
Sweet and Sour Pork: honestly, if you haven’t tried this dish yet, you’re missing out! It’s deep-fried pork coated in a super crispy batter, and drenched in a delicious and thick sweet and sour sauce, stir fried with vegetables. It’s a common dish but it’s done very well here - the pork is so crunchy and the sauce is packed with flavour, yet not overly heavy.
Crispy Noodle with Kung Pao Chicken: this is one of their new dishes. It’s basically crispy, fried noodles topped with stir-fried kung pao chicken. It’s a simple dish, but it’s super addictive with the texture of the crispy noodles!
Fried Pancake with Red Bean Paste: one of my favourite Chinese desserts! The fried pancake is very crunchy (more like a pastry) and it’s filled generously with sweet and smooth red bean paste. Definitely worth a try!
We also had their Homemade Lemon Tea which was sweet and refreshing. Perfect to go with all the dishes.
Service was also fantastic! The staff were all very patient and attentive. Overall, I would definitely recommend checking this place out if you want to try some authentic, home-cooked Shanghainese food!
Thank you David for the warm invitation to dine at Nong Tang Noodle House!
(invitational)
Traditional Shanghainese Chinese eatery tuck in the middle of Mid City Arcade.
The place is very well-kept, which isn't something you find often in Chinese restaurants, with good lighting and conditioning. David himself was very welcoming and warm, but the staff was nice too. We came in after lunch hours so there were only a few tables aside from us. Food did take a while to come around 20-25 minutes but were told that everything were made fresh thus the wait so it was understandable.
First of all, we had the traditional pan fried dumpling with surprising soup in the middle which was satisfying, but also you get the crisps sticking onto the dumplings which were delightful. It was seasoned well, not too salty like most restaurants though the top was tad bit thick and tough. David then explained how they were directly pan fired and not boiled beforehand, to keep it traditional. After having a few though I grew fond of the tough bit on top lol.
The golden prawn was uhmazing! The prawn was succulent, batter was perfectly fried, not too oily and u can definitely taste the salted egg! Taste was again on point i was impressed.
Stir fried chicken was decent i suppose, they thought i couldn't have spicy so it was lacking that spice kick, but portion was satisfying, there was lots of chicken, with some veggies to balance it out.
The noodle was great, taste wise and the thickness. The soy tofu that came with it was delightful as well. The only thing that a shame was that it was a bit too soft, so would love it it was cooked less. Got a taste of the soup too which was said to be made in store by boiling pork and chicken, taste wise it was pretty good, and not too salty.
The rice was generous and well cooked.
Also had the homemade lemon tea which was perfect in sweetness (so rare) and the chinese tea that came in a pot.
Overall I was glad to have dined here and would recommend people to check it out and of course thanks to David for the warm hospitality. :)
( follow for more!✨)

We were invited to Nong Tang noodle house and upon arrival learned that Nong Tang refers to the narrow food alleyways of shanghai. We were very impressed with the atmosphere in comparison with other traditional Chinese restaurants, the staff were very friendly and native English speakers helped us navigate the menu with ease. As people with dietary requirements we’ve found they can sometimes get lost in translation when you go to really authentic restaurants but we had no such issues here.
We ordered the prawn and chicken steamed dumplings which are made in house and the menu tempted with so many yummy sounding dishes we stupidly forgot to order a noodle dish when we were at a venue with noodle in the name! We had the lemon chicken, Mongolian beef, salt and pepper calamari and of course my husband had to have his favourite chicken and cashew nut.
The Mongolian beef was something quite unique. They make their version rather spicy (the owner assured us they advise people to double check they are up for something different) so it is well worthy trying and you can taste the quality in all of their meats. The sauces won’t leave you feeling sluggish either, they are full of flavour without the nasties that you can often experience with Asian cuisine. A fantastic central location too
the pan fried dumplings are amazing, the best dumplings and noodles i have ever had. Highly recommend to people who like dumplings and noodles!!!
We went to this shop on the Saturday,Place is clean and the food was nice, we order red chili oil wontons and pan fried dumpling, very satisfied.
What a hidden gem!! Authentic cheap and tasty - the pan fried Shanghai dumplings are juicy and the crisp bottom is a delicious contrast with the soft casing. The duck is only $5 and the sauce is light and flavoursome. Not being able to decide between the 3 noodles on the menu - the waitress suggested the pork, didn’t disappoint at all. The only downside is the MSG crash...but absolutely worth every moment of thirst and tiredness...
Rating: 3.5 - 4
Food:
- Shanghai noodle (with soup): light and simple broth but the flavour is definitely there, I think it could be a little too light for some people though but personally I love it. The noodles were not too mushy or too chewy. It doesn't come with any toppings like other restaurants so that you can choose a couple of different side dishes which is quite different. I actually think it's a great alternative for my noodle shop list.
- "Nong Tang 8 treasures in soy sauce": this one was so-so because I don't think I get to taste every component in there, I can taste lots of tofu but not the full range as indicated on the menu.
- Shanghai meatballs: these were so juicy, tender and flavourful. It's not too salty and went nicely with the noodle.
- Black fungus with spicy and vinegar dressing: refreshing dish, would pair well with other heavy dishes
Price: reasonable, some of dishes look like they have very small portion though so I think people will have different opinion about the price range.
Service: very nice and attentive staff, food didn't come out super fast but was reasonable, not too long
Ambience: very small restaurant, tucked away in Midcity Arcade, opposite Mr Ramen-san. But it's relatively new and the deco is very simple and neat.
Very nice food and friendly service. We had 5 different dishes and all were freshly prepared and very yum. Will go Nong Tang house again in the future.
The food here is awesome!! Love it!! This noodle is my favorite~ The staff in the restaurant are very friendly~soooo perfect! I will recommend this restaurant to all my friends!💕
😱Lizzie’s first impression: really struck me by surprise when I tried their dumplings for the first time - the dishes were surprisingly tasty.
🍩Lizzie enjoyed: we ordered two of the crispy noodles with sauce - one was chicken with sweet and sour sauce and the other was a beef with black pepper. The beef with crispy noodles was delicious and perfectly cooked. Their dumplings have all the flavours.
🍅Lizzie did not enjoy: the dumplings are good, but the size of them are definitely smaller than the norm. The service was a little slow but that was because it was during Chinese New Years.
🥇Lizzie rates overall: a great place for a Chinese dumpling feast.
The food was so delicious! It was authentic Chinese food with great taste and flavour- with reasonable prices. The staff were kind and helpful with the menu and the atmosphere of the restaurant is nice as well.
This is one of those humbling authentic places. Great food, great service, great experience. Easy to walk past, it’s not on the radar of the hipsters’ must-do & see list but mannnn. If you dig dumplings and noodles and good simple classics - this place is it. I’ve been on the hunt for weeks trying every place in the city for a place that nails my fave dishes and this is the winner. Even the chef came out to greet my family and friends. Will be back 100%. Thank you for a great experience Nong Tang!!
: It looks very nice and the food tastes delicious, with elegant and traditional decoration. The staff is so friendly to service. It deserves to try .
The remarkable Shanghai food which is ever good than any other restaurant provides a fantastic Shanghai memory. The owner is so friendly and a pure Shanghainese guy who is also warm hearted to serve the customers. The photos on the wall of the restaurant are unique. They were taken in different places in Shanghai and show the stories and history of the charming city in the Far East.
The pan fried pork dumplings is Delicious! The warp is very thin and tender! So much soup juicy in the filling! Yummy! The honey chicken also very delicious! The service is excellent also! Nice staff! I will come back again!
A quite nice Shanghai restaurant! Food is really yummy, wonton in chilli oil is my favourite!! Pork dumpings are delicious too. Plus, jazz music is really beautiful. :D
I have never heard of this place until today but will definitely return. Right next to Shandong mama and this place is cheap/cheerful and the service is friendly. A variety of relatively simple dishes so it felt like the place was catering for the Western palate. Highlights: dumplings were pretty good but they are HOT so watch your mouth. Lowlights: the tables are really close together so try not to have any awkward dating conversations.
Great Shanghai style Chinese restaurant. The pan fried dumplings are a must, with crispy bottom and light steamed dough on top. Also their homemade noodles are great, I reccomend the noodles with pork and green beans. Great value and a good place to go as a group.
We recently discovered this hidden gem with authentic Shanghainese cuisine and relaxing jazz (not sure but sounds like) music. The food was great, atmosphere - pleasant and staff - attentive. We like that instead of ordering just 1-2 big meals, we could order a lot of different small ones. The same in price but much more varieties. We enjoyed our dinner and will be happy to come back again!
We were happily surprised by the food at this restaurant. Both kids gave the "salted chicken with bone" dry noodles 咸鸡拌面 the thumbs up. No easy feat.
