Recently opened chinese restaurant inside Midcity Arcade. Simple & clean interior with bunch of HK style posters on the wall :) Tried their dumplings and black bean beef noodles - tasted pretty good! Nothing outstanding but a quiet place to grab food with your friends.

A clean, modest eatery in a pokey arcade serving up big flavours. The dumplings and noodles are absolutely delicious. Service is rather leisurely though which was fine as we were holidaying in town and weren’t in a particular rush.

Came here on EatClub with 30% off the total bill.

Ordered:
Yang Zhou Special Fried Rice $11.8 🍚
Shanghai Traditional Pan Fried Pork Dumpling $12.80 🥟

Fried rice 🍚 The fried rice was good, I liked the taste of it. Generous use of ingredients and really decent portion size.

Shanghai Pan Fried Dumpling 🥟 Juicy - literally the juice spilt out when I took a bit. Tasted really good.Skin wasn’t too think & generous meat filling. I did however find the dumplings rather oily but I guess it’s expected for pan fried dumplings.

Service however was a let down, reckon we’ll waited a good 20-30 minutes for our dishes to get served. And considering the restaurant was very quiet with 3-4 tables occupied, extreme slow service. I did however notice that they received many food deliveries order and they seemed to be prioritising those orders.

This is has been one of my frequent places for lunch in CBD when they have their deals on EatClub.

I always the authentic Shanghai Fried Noodles and a serve of their pork and cabbage dumplings.

The owner David is friendly and if you have any questions, he is more than happy to help you.

The only problem is the long waiting time, even though there isn't many people when I was there.

This was the second time we dined at NTNH. We really like the place both times. It’s so clean with really nice staff. We loved all our dishes. Shanghai dumplings, flat noodles, fried rice and honey chicken. Very nice and clean presentation and well priced. It is definitely above average in China Town. Recommend

I was hearing a lot of good things about Nong Tang noodle house online so I decided to go there this week, I was impressed with the food that I got to eat here. This place is in a small alley in China Town. The hosts are really nice and polite and will guide you to your table when you enter. They had very calm and soothing instrumental music on when I went there which created a very nice atmosphere inside the restaurant.

1. Beef 🥢🥢 very salty
2. Chicken 🥢🥢🥢🥢 oily but nice

Great Shanghai style Chinese restaurant. The pan fried dumplings are a must, with crispy bottom and light steamed dough on top. Also their homemade noodles are great, I reccomend the noodles with pork and green beans. Great value and a good place to go as a group.

Nong Tang is a hidden gem off Little Bourke St. You won't see this walking through China Town unless you stumble in Mid City arcade. I was invited by the owner to try an array of dishes and I decided to take some friends who have recently moved to Melbourne. The stars were the pot stickers, and the pan fried beef dumplings. I must admit, the dumplings looked rather exquisite. My friends enjoyed the other dishes including the roast duck, steamed greens in oyster sauce and the hor fun noods. The flavour balance in the chilli oil dumplings could use some minor tweaks. It was a bit too sweet for my liking. There are other places that have better chilli oil dumplings like HuTong, Dumplings Plus, Din Tai Fung. It's not a deal breaker but I wouldn't order these again - but presentation was great. That said, I love how hidden and no frills this place is. I could easily be in some off the beaten track mall in Hong Kong or Singapore, and that made me feel really happy. Me and my friends enjoyed our experience at Nong Tang - this is what Chinatown is all about, and we didn't leave hungry. Get the dumplings and the pot stickers, share some greens and you'll be really happy.

We recently discovered this hidden gem with authentic Shanghainese cuisine and relaxing jazz (not sure but sounds like) music. The food was great, atmosphere - pleasant and staff - attentive. We like that instead of ordering just 1-2 big meals, we could order a lot of different small ones. The same in price but much more varieties. We enjoyed our dinner and will be happy to come back again!

We were happily surprised by the food at this restaurant. Both kids gave the "salted chicken with bone" dry noodles 咸鸡拌面 the thumbs up. No easy feat.
