Popped in after the White Night festival for a latish meal and drink. We've been past a number of times but never stopped in and we were glad we did. The service was friendly and attentive with a comfortable interior. The menu isn't large but there is more than enough variety to suit most people. Our mixed Singapore dumplings were delicious as was our noodle soup - perfect on a cold night with a couple glasses of prosecco! Certainly worth a return visit as their high teas look great.
High Tea very pretty and delicious, white table cloth service making the high tea an enjoyable and special experience. Hours booking for a high tea 2 to 5.30pm. Scones a hit for all.
Came here for breakfast buffet when we stay at the Stamford Hotel. There wasn't that much food choices but the food was fresh which was good. The customer services was good. And will come back here again when we stay at Stamford Hotel again. 😀
We dropped in for a light dinner on a Sat night, the staff were friendly and helpful, food was prepared well and with care, Gluten free options were limited and it did take a while for the food to come out.
Came across this little restaurant on a Thursday afternoon in an alley way off Collins and Little Collins Street. Though not busy, it was a quiet and enjoyable setting.
We ordered zucchini chips for entree & for mains we ordered Baby spinach & Quinoa Salad and the Bourke burger. We were very impressed with the quality of our food and thought the presentation was effective. The only downfall was the salad was a little small - there was definitely room for more!
🙈🍽🍸 Harry's restaurant in the Stamford Plaza is one awesome place! We had a really nice night here, trying the new winter menu!
We had some amazing food here and we enjoyed the atmosphere, despite it being slightly quiet.
We had the braised Oxtail ravioli with baby carrots, crispy rocket in a porcini mushroom broth, Marsala braised pork with chilli and prunes over creamy mashed potato and steamed broccolini, slow cooked lamb tagine and parsley scented cous cous with cinnamon and cumin spiced lamb sweetened with apricots and dates!! They were all so amazing and so homely 😍😍
We couldn't find a negative! We enjoyed Harry's Restaurant and Bar
We were invited to Harry’s Restaurant to check out their seasonal menu. This month they are featuring a wonderful seasonal ingredient – the Slipper Lobster. Lovely lobster flavours, and it’s great value. Kind of like the appeal of craft beers – a bit of luxury to your everyday tastes, without breaking the bank. Would recommend.
A hidden gem.
Stamford Hotel invited us over to sample their Prawn special in the month of March. (It changes up every month - we believe it may be crab for April!)
We were not in the slightest way disappointed. The prawns were succulent, flavourful and paired perfectly with their four dishes: Creole Styled Prawns, Garlic Prawn Linguini, Wasabi Prawn Cutlets and (Not so) Mini Bucket of Prawns.
Though prawn month is over, their prawn linguini is here to stay. It is our favourite dish. With the Wasabi (Very subtle) came a close second.
Alex and Tory had amazing service. We were served by the gorgeous Tory throughout the night and was very pleased!
We will be back and we highly recommend you make a visit. The bar is also just across!!

Christmas in July is a really great idea. I don't know about you, but I feel like this Winter has been incredibly cold - with the icy winds biting through my layers of clothing, including my two layers of socks. So there's no better excuse than to carbo load on hearty, warming and rich foods. And where better to do that than at Harry's Restaurant's Christmas in July all-you-can-eat seafood buffet lunch.
Executive Chef Ketan Seth is taking diners on a journey of mouth-watering lobster dishes through August at Harry's Restaurant in Stamford Plaza Melbourne hotel. Designed by Chef Ketan the menu is a tempting mix of slipper lobster centric dishes that are sure to please. We were impressed by the beautifully fresh slipper lobsters that had been cooked to perfection in every course, a nod to Chef Ketan’s experience with some of the world’s most renowned hotels including The Langham Melbourne, Crown Melbourne and Dubai’s Raffles hotels and The Atlantis.
The lobster craze has hit Harry’s Restaurant & Bar at Melbourne’s Stamford Plaza Hotel, with five tasty lobster dishes joining their menu in the month of August. Visit their website for the menu and details of when the dishes are available throughout the day. I was recently invited to preview the lobster dishes and I would like to thank Stamford Plaza Melbourne for this opportunity.
The ravioli was a lovely light pasta dish. The ravioli were fat pillows of minced lobster. The cherry toms, mushroom, lemon and mint 'sauce' was nice and fresh, and was topped with Parmesan cheese. And for me, it was reminiscent of pasta primavera.
So to remedy my lobster-less existence, I was ecstatic to be invited to sample the All About Lobster menu at Harry’s Restaurant and Bar. Except instead of the restaurant, we were led up to the presidential suite of the Stamford Hotel, where we had two chefs waiting to cook up a feast of crustacean for us. Ooh-la-la! The star is the slipper lobster, which have just come into season. There were a total of 5 menu items ranging from $15 to $30, depending on if you’re dropping by for lunch, dinner, or a drink at the bar.
Last week, we were invited to The Stamford Plaza Hotel where Executive Chef, Ketan Seth, presented to us a selection of lobster dishes that was going to be available to the public starting 1 August 2015. We were tucked in at The Stamford's Plaza's presidential suite where chefs prepared meals in the suite's kitchen while we sit back, relax and waited to taste. These lobster dishes will be available at The Stamford Plaza Hotel's restaurant and bar.

Experience a taste of Christmas during the month of July at Harry’s Restaurant, located at Melbourne’s luxury Stamford Plaza Hotel. While this cold weather has me thinking of a Northern Hemisphere white Christmas (minus the white), Harry’s Restaurant’s Christmas in July buffet lunch menu has all the makings of a good ol’ Aussie Christmas: seafood!
There's no better excuse than to carbo load on hearty, warming and rich foods than at a Christmas in July all-you-can-eat seafood buffet lunch. There's plenty of seafood on offer. There's about six types of hot dishes on offer. I particularly loved the juicy chicken w apples and gravy and the vegetarian ricotta cannoli. The white fish (I forget what type of fish it was) with the buttery leeks and herb roasted potatoes were also very nice.
Winter is here and it's a perfect time to celebrate with family, friends and colleagues with Harry's Christmas in July Seafood Buffet Lunch. For just $49.00 per person, you will enjoy Tasmanian Oysters, Portarlington Mussels, Tiger Prawns, Smoked Salmon, Main Course options, salads and indulgent desserts.
As you may or may not know, I am an office minion who hangs out all week for a good lunch outing on a friday! Today, we ventured, not for the first nor the last time to Harry's bar and the $15 burger, fries and drink (including alcohol). We have now been here several times, service is usually pretty good and my favourite 'go to' burger is the American Memphis BBQ pulled pork burger. I recommend this special which is on all week, for the office minions out there!
I stopped in at Harrys for a quick hotdog, as they were selling them from a stand in the alley! They smelt awesome and didnt dissappoint.
They didnt skimp on the toppings, and the sausage seemed like an authentic german sausage.
Went down very nicely with a cold beer!! Cant wait to go back and try the burgers that we saw other people eating!
Good find - a regular burger joint for sure. Harry's Bar is literally a stone's throw from my office, but somehow I have managed to walk past it at least three times a day in the last 11 months, without so much as a peek into what they offer food wise. This has since changed, upon devouring their delicious burgers twice in the past two weeks. The Great Aussie Burger is one of seven types of burgers on offer and it simply ticks all the boxes for me (a double tick for size!), including value. Friendly staff and the casual ambience experienced over lunch also helped. Will be back to try the fish burger (Bombay spiced).
Love the happy hour prices especially when ur partner does consume lots of liquids! And if you love your spicy food try the curry puffs have a real punch to it.

The fried 'Hojiblanca' stuffed olives were very morish and my favourite. The plump green olives were destoned and filled with a creamy centre and encased in a thin, crunchy crust. The chive and feta aioli was thick and rich and gave the olives an extra luxeness to them. Great with a drink!

If you want to try some farm style recipes from Gabriel’s new book, Harry's Restaurant at Stamford Plaza Hotel is having a tasting menu (based on the dishes above) during 14-20 October 2013.

The next dishes were from the small share plates menu. The first were fresh soft shell crabs w panko curst, served with kewpie mayo and daikon. I loved the presentation of this dish, which Chef Ketan also liked when we spoke to him about this dish. I especially loved the visual contrast between the yellow, pickled daikon and the squid ink infused kewpie mayo. My photo here doesn't do the colours justice - the colours really did pop from the plate. The crabs had a light crunchy outer with quite a reasonable amount of sweet, tender crab meat inside.
Loved it!!. Went the other night for dinner, food was lovely full of flavour, service was great, good location in cbd. Would definitely recommend.
Great $5 happy hour. However the barmaid was extremely rude when I informed her she had short changed me not even apologising when she have me the correct amount (Friday 4 Jan 6.45pm)
Lovely. Morton Bay Bugs were delicious! We were in a hurry and the staff made sure we received our meals in a timely manner. Very happy.
I used to come here with friends years ago. I had fantastic memories of this place: busy and great vibe, packed with people cheerfully chatting, drinking and eating after work on Fridays. I am finally back here to catch up with a friend who works nearby. Thrilled to find the Happy Hour drinks are still delicious and affordable, as well as friendly and speedy service (thank you Marvin for your friendly and professional service). It was a bonus to still get complimentary nibbles. The only thing missing is the crowd: well it is only Tuesday... I know, right? 😆 Nothing wrong to have an after-work drink early in the week to support your local businesses. 😜
I really had a great time 😃
My family came and stayed at the Stamford Hotel for the Easter weekend and Harry's Jungle was next door. I cannot recommend the bar manager, Kate, as a star employee more highly. She really made my family's stay at the hotel memorable, personable and fun! She is an amazing mixologist and a great bar tender. I hear that she is moving on to another bar soon, and I truly feel bad for your loss as this girl deserves a pay rise. The bar itself is fun, the hotel memorable, but Kate really made our stay worthwhile. Would strongly recommend the $39 all you can drink cocktails for large groups of friends and for functions!
Aways enjoy sitting outside enjoying the food and cocktails. Staff are all lovely.
Great bar food, swift, friendly. Laksa was very good, as was the 9 dim sum serve.
Service is fantastic, love the ambience and vibe as well. Burgers 9.5/10!
