We popped in here for pre dinner drinks as there were few bars open on a Monday in this area. Located down a tiny laneway, it would be easy to miss. However, I'm glad we found it as it wasn't a bad spot for a drink.
Service was friendly, and we sat outside in the laneway where there was plenty of seating. Inside has limited seating and it doesn't have a lot of atmosphere. However, the staff were super friendly and we enjoyed some happy hour drinks. The food sounds interesting as I haven't tried Mauritian food, so I will have to head back to Bistro du Peuple to try it to see if I enjoy it.
Some interesting items especially if Mauritian cuisine is something you haven't tried before.
Dholl puri, $12, great flat bread and curry to go with it.
Vindaye, $14, tuna is cooked through so some tougher pieces, but nice flavour and roti to accompany it.
Fritters are small very crunchy bite size pieces.
Small venue, can be quite loud on busy nights.
Found this lovely place in a small alley - had $6 beers to start with and got me hooked!!!
Had squid tentacles, Mac n cheese blocks and chicken ribs to eat... AMAZING!!! Everyone needs to try them!!!
Lovely atmosphere sitting outside, watching the world go by...
Come and experience this for yourself... you won’t regret it!!!
