Always on the lookout for great bread and pastries, I came across Pane e Pizzico whilst walking around Essendon and was tempted in by the delicious breads in their window. Upon entry I discovered a treasure trove of baked goods and some Italian deli items. The smell was amazing, and it was very difficult to choose what to have.
We decided upon a huge sourdough loaf for home, and a blackberry jam tart and nutella pastry to eat on the run. The sweets were so much fun. Simple, sweet and delicious, with delicate pastry and yummy fillings. The bread was outstanding and was a huge hit at home. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and I can't wait to go back to try their savoury pizzas and more of their sweet treats.
My favourite pasticceria in Melbourne closed 1 year ago and I had lost all faith that I could buy a decent Melbourne made Panettone or Colomba again. Then I accidentally came across Pane e Pizzico. Thank goodness they exist. Beautiful fresh Colomba that has a lovely mild citrus favour that doesn’t leave you feeling bloated.
If you liked and miss Bisetto, you’ll LOVE Pane e Pizzico.

our favourite is their pizza slices, and be sure to get them toasted cause they have the most satisfying crunch.
Perfect with some coffee :)
Hidden little bakery/cafe specialising in artisan bread.
Serve bakery style pizza & a large range of panini made fresh to order. Coffee was good, there’s also a decent selection of sweets & biscuits. Small venue, minimal seating inside and there is seating outside also. Staff were friendly & polite.

We've been grabbing the odd coffee for a while now and have been impressed with the consistent quality.
Staff are always happy and genuine.
Breads are excellent. Cakes and slices delicious.
Well worth the visit.
A hidden little gem with wonderful coffee. We always stop by for a latte whenever we pass. Also free complementary cookies! They also have a lovely selection of bread and baked delights! Staff are always extremely friendly and welcoming too.
Wow, my family had tried biscotti and panettone from pasticcerias around Melbourne for years and the quality from Pane Pizzico is up there as one of the best!
The staff are very friendly, happy to chat and welcoming. Reasonable prices especially given the quality, the fresh rolls are great, like Subway with all the options to add but the quality is next level. Even the ham is incredible!
We will definitely be back, would probably buy our bread here every week if we lived closer!
I came here with a blogger who was invited to their Christmas in August event to launch their Panettone.
I was not overly excited about panettone as my previous experiences have been it being dry n stale. I must admit i never 'got' pannetone until now. When done well and baked fresh, it truly is a dream. Soft, cakey, citrus, fruity, buttery. I took some to my friends who were equally unexcited and they were mind blown as well.
You haven't had pannetone until you've had it here. It is very much worth the drive to Essendon for this beast of a cake.
Staff were friendly and you could feel the love. Made me wish I was Italian except i love pho and banh mi too much to defect.
Signature bread featured. Italian bakery/coffee shop with sit down areas, very friendly and helpful staff. A little bit of Italy in Melbourne.
Lovely little place. Felt like I was back in Rome. Coffee was nice and my wife and I shared a pizza. A bit of an awkward location with all the traffic but lovely for a quick stop
