Ordered the food online through Uber eats and requested for a swap of ingredients for the Yong tofu. They did it for me without charge and also gave me a bag of free prawn crackers. Food was delicious also :)
I came on a late Saturday night and greeted by lovely staff. Food was amazing and will be returning for sure. Thank you for the great service.
Delicious cuisine, friendly and prompt service! Suzanne was so lovely and generous - she heard how worried I was about running out of toilet paper during the Coronavirus outbreak and she gave me some to take home to my family! Can't beat that for service - She said that if any customer was desperate she would be willing to help. Would definitely eat there again, really enjoyed the meal and time out with friends.
Food: Top notch Malaysian Chinese!
Service: Hit n miss. But mostly okay. Boss lady is friendly.
Ambience: Not too bad but harder with children.
Value: Bang for buck
😱Lizzie’s first impression: Quick, easy and delicious soup.
🍩Lizzie enjoyed: I love coming here to order the six pieces of stuffed tofu with noodle soup. It really reminds me of home. The idea is that you select 6 of the vegies stuffed tofus of your choice and they will cook it up in the clear noodle soup that honestly tastes delicious.
🍅Lizzie did not enjoy: It’s not a fancy restaurant but it has renovated and looks way better than it used to.
🥇Lizzie rates overall: love this spot so much for an easy lunch
Hearty Malaysian Food.
We went here for a Christmas eve dinner and came quite late so we called in advance and they were so accommodating! The place wasn't the fanciest but well kept.
Had stir-fried seafood kwetiauw, beef rendang nasi lemak, chicken feet dry noodle, hainanese chicken rice, and combination laksa and they were all delish. YES I am pretty damn impressed. I think you wouldn't go wrong with anything really, judging from my experience there. Portion was satisfying, waiting time wasn't long and food was delish. How I hope this place is close to me :')
But yes do check it out, perfect place for malay food!

Home to the best Yong To Fu in Melbourne! Yong To Fu is stuffed vegetable with fish paste.
This place never dissappoints. This family owned joint serves authentic Malaysian food at its best. From their ala carte items to dishes on the menu.Had their yong tofu and it was so good, you get a choice to select your own soup based (clear soup, tom yum and curry) and your choice of noodles. I would always go for the curry soup based and it is amazing. The yong tofu choices are good and it goes really well with the soup and noodles
Be sure to try their combination seafood noodles as they are really good.
great places to order dishes to share with rice! not quite a fan of their individual dishes - prefer laksa king’s individual dishes.
these dishes are great!
cantonese pork chop
cereal prawns
yam ring chicken
homemade egg tofu
beef rendang
My score 4.25 stars (this is a composite of 2 reviews). J and I had lunch here on Tue 9th of July.
I had Yong Tofu ($13.80) and I chose this combo: Curry soup, medium spicy, very curryish, quite salty. Nice and aromatic. Gritty down bottom of bowl. Hokkien noodles, plenty of them and held texture till the bowl was empty. 1 x chive fishcake (lesser), 1 x fish chinese donut (YUM), 1 x flat beancurd stuffed with fish (YUM), 1 x prawn dumpling (ok), 1 x tofu-stuffed beancurd (nice), 1 x pork and prawnball thingie (quite good , not too meaty).
J also had Yong Tofu: Curry soup. Rice noodles, plenty, silky but nice (maybe a bit soft, esp by the end of the bowl). 3 x tofu-stuffed beancurd (nice), 1 x chive fishcake (salty, a bit fishy, firm to the bite), 1 x vegetarian prawn (nice), 1 x beancurd fishball (light and fluffy and very nice, would have more next time). Both bowls had bok choy bits, beanshoots and fried shallots (sprinkled on top).
Service friendly. Atmosphere relaxed. Their spoons have a hook so it doesn’t slide into your soup (FAB)! Very filling and very tasty! Would have given 4.5, but is a little dearer than laksa’s round the corner (which are great too).
10months ago. J and I had lunch here for the first time. Not as busy as CL or LK, darker and less modern interior. We ordered a Yong Tofu and a Nasi Lemak w chicken curry.
The Nasi Lemak was better at both CL and LK round the corner – the serve was the least generous of the 3 places and the chicken was dry (major disappointment, as it’s one of my all time fav dishes).
The Yong Tofu was fab (good for vegetarians/pescatarians)! We probably blitzed 4 out of the 6 stuffed tofu - wouldn’t have the capsicum or eggplant again (a little bland). Worth visiting just for the Yong Tofu!
M Yong Tofu - Racecourse Road, Flemington
6 Choice Tofu Laksa
As soon as someone mentions laksa and Flemington in the same sentence there is an assumption that you must be talking about Laksa King, a shop so famous that it constantly has a half hour wait for a table. Flemington is more than just Laksa King, it’s home to many amazing Malaysian restaurants, all with their unique twist on the delicious curry based soup. Hear me out here, If M Yong Tofu was a car it would be a Toyota Hilux. A beast of a thing that gets the job done. Comparatively if Laksa King was a car it would be a BMW, a finely refined thing that is a little bit fancy. M Yong Tofu Laksa is ugly but M Yong Tofu Laksa is great. It’s ingredients are so packed, so flavourful and never ending that I can see myself going this option if I want to fill up on something tasty, cheap and cheerful. You pick 6 ingredients from the fridge at the front of the store, your choices are an array of stuffed tofu and stuffed vegetables plus some options of dumplings and meat balls. All these ingredients when brought out were tasty, some of the fillings in the stuffed vegetables were a little lacking in flavour but I appreciated them for what they are. The stock for this laksa is so bold, so savoury and so aromatic. Does it have the delicate touches of spice that Laksa King has? I don’t think so, but it is a hell of a lot less sweet and a lot less creamy. That get’s me to my next point, should these venues be compared? I don’t think so, they should be held in their own regard, the M Yong Tofu Laksa is in my Top 5 laksa’s I have tried and what made it better? The very lovely staff that served us with a smile and were helpful in getting us some sambal to add some kick they weren’t just catering for their revolving door of customers. As a side note, my friends Bak Kut Teh he ordered was A herbal delight. The star anise and cinnamon in the soup was complex but very easy to digest. Give this place a go next time you’re in Flemington. Choose your ingredients from the fridge or go with a more standard combination/seafood option. You won’t be disappointed.

The food is delicious, affordable, most importantly, very creative the way they cook it or how you choose to cook it!!! I really like it! Can't be bothered to describe more but try the three things in the picture. They are super

Family Night out! We were excited to try this "local gem" in Flemington situated on one of the buzzing streets. Not local to us, we drove an hour to get a taste of some authentic Malaysian flavours on our tongues. Reading such great reviews about the food here, we just had to go and try out some of the malaysian dishes that we love! Trying to find parking on the busy street on a Saturday night wasn't too easy, but we managed to eventually find a spot! Dont forget to make a booking on weekends as this place gets pretty packed out!! Food comes out really quickly, but service can be mediocre.
We ordered the:
- Penang King Prawn Noodle soup ⭐⭐⭐
- Tradition Curry Laksa⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
- Ipoh Chicken Hor Fun soup ⭐⭐
- Ipoh Combination Hor Fun⭐⭐⭐⭐
- Beef Rendang Curry Noodle ⭐⭐⭐
- Roti Chanai with Curry ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
*Highlight*
The Traditional Curry Laksa and the Roti Chanai w/ Curry. The Laksa was absolutely devine, definitely my go to for Laksa. Every spoonful was bursting with flavours that I couldnt get enough of! The Roti was crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside with a perfect balance of sweetness to it. Dipping it in the curry added a whole new level to the flavours. It was sublimely delicious!
Thanks for a great Malaysian cuisine experience Myong Tofu 🥂
Super good super authentic malaysian food. Please get the Yong tofu, the ultimate comfort food here! The owners here are super friendly too it’s the place to be
Consistent, tasty, economical and speedy. A good basic Asian restaurant with an expansive menu! I go there regularly as do a number of my friends.

Interesting Malaysian food. It’s one of my favourite foods and this place is great. I ordered the honey mixed vegetables with tofu with rice and for dessert had sago pudding. To drink I tried the teh tarik (cold). Everything was prepared quickly and the portion sizes were great and the staff were fabulous. So attentive and efficient. Place is wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. Parking is okay but watch the clock.
As a Malaysian. I think this place served the best Yong Tou Fu in Melbourne! You can easily choose what type of noodle/ soup and Yong Tou Fu that you liked. Nice dining area, friendly staff. Give it a try, you will like it!
Celebrated my dad's birthday with the family here a long while ago, but thought that this place was worth a review. Firstly, I would say the service and ambiance were alright, they weren't so attentive and ambiance felt little dark and a little dirty on tables and floors.
But forgetting about that, the food! It was amazing, though I do recommend to get rice, because the dishes had very strong flavours, like, more on the salty side, so having it with rice is the best combination.
We had egg tofu, salt&pepper king prawn, black pepper beef, beef fried soy noodle, and XO sauce french bean

I really enjoyed my Chinese New Year lunch here. The yee sang was easily the best yee sang in Melbourne - delicious, fresh salmon and well portioned. It was pricey but worth it. My favourite food dishes was the tofu, Kerabu chicken and the oat prawns. They were all well executed, delicious and perfect with a bowl of rice. Would def come back to try the Yong tau foo. This place made me feel like I was right back in malaysia. LOVE IT!
3.5. Had the yong tofu with curry soup.
Overall pretty good, curry soup had the slightest grainy texture. Soup was flavourful. Wouldn't say it's superior to the other ones I had but it's still good. If I live around the area I would definitely visit frequently as the menu is quite vast.
Everything on the menu are worth trying even for those non adventurous diners out there because it will blow your mind. The varying textures, flavours, consistancies of the food are the most satisfying experience one can have from eating malaysian cuisine. Prices of the dishes are worth it, do youself a favour and bring yourself to one of the most authentic Malaysian restaurants in Melbourne.
One of the best places to get authentic Malaysian food. Reasonable prices, and amazing Yong tau Fu! Must try the fried beancurd!
Was absolutely blown away by the hospitality and friendliness of the staff, who recommended us the iced Barley drink which was phenomenal.
Definitely will come again.
I am so glad this place exist! I thought i would be hard-pressed to find a Yong Tau foo shop in Melbourne, but alas, i come across this outlet and yes it is pretty good! At $13.80 for 6 pieces with noodles and soup (chicken broth / laksa / tom yum) it might be slightly pricey, but uh well.. where else can I find tasty Spore / Malaysian inspired YTF. My personal favourite is the eggplant piece. The rest of the dishes are not bad but would prefer the nearby laksa king as the portion is larger and tastier!
I ordered the nasi goreng here for takeaway and it was delicious. There was perfect balance of meat , shrimp and vegetables mixed with flavoursome rice. The nasi goreng here is just as good as the one at Laksa king around the corner and it's cheaper too!
One of the best places to enjoy some Malaysian food.. We often come here when have some special occasion with friends and family.. Food is amazing, and Aunty Susanne is always very welcoming and friendly.. Food quality is very consistent, and portions are decent.. Good for coming in groups or just for a quick meal..
I would recommend trying their yong tofu and kerabu chicken...
The food here is amazing!!! Tasty and delicious! Service was good. The only thing you may need to consider would be the space of the restaurant as it was a tad squashy for our group of 6 and parking isn't the easiest. Although ,there is parking available in the back streets but even then it can be tricky to find something. Highly recommend this restaurant though. It's worth the parking trouble!
One of the best, most authentic places to have a meal! Good price, fresh and quick, never had a bad experience. Will always be back to have the different varieties on the menu.
I have been wanting to check out M Yong Tofu ever since I saw the photos of the steaming bowls of tofu curry bowls. Was so ravenous that I forgot to take photos. Quick service and the food took no time to come out. No frills but the food is plentiful, full of flavour and definitely value for money.
Highlights: roti is fluffy and perfectly made. The chicken curry is delicious too. The batter of the fried squid is crispy, taste a little watery but might be due to the squid. Lowlights: the curry base of the tofu laksa was good, but not the best. got charged a transaction fee even though we didn’t use credit card. :(
Great Malaysian food from one of the friendliest aunties. The cereal prawn and tofu on snow peas are the best . Definitely a favourite of ours
Was looking for a place to go for dinner with the family on a Friday night, and we ended up at M Yong Tofu. Although we didn’t make a booking, we arrived just before 6pm so we were able to score some seats (by the time we left, the restaurant was packed). The venue is quite small and the tables are very close together, but it’s got a very homey and cosy atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and accommodating - they even let us move to a larger table as all our food couldn’t fit!
What we ate:
- Yam Ring Chicken: The yam ring is exceptional! Extra crispy on the outside and extremely fluffy and soft on the inside. The chicken was also coated in a really nice, sweet and savoury sauce. This was definitely a favourite!
- Crispy Oat King Prawn: The cereal coating is so addictive! Slightly sweet, very crispy and light batter! I couldn’t help scooping up all the leftover crumbs!
- Homemade Egg Tofu: This dish was really mind blowing! Uber soft and delicate on the inside, and crispy on the outside. The fried shallots on top adds the perfect extra flavour! A must-order!
- Belachan French Bean: This dish was still tasty, but not outstanding. The beans had a nice crunch, and the serving size was large. However, we were not mind blown by the taste - quite ordinary. A good serving of veggies though!
- Clayton Yee Mee: This was another very average dish. It looks very appetising, served in a large clay pot, however it’s not that flavourful compared to the other dishes we had. Would probably opt for the CKT in the future.
- Yong Tofu (curry): Of course, we couldn’t NOT order their signature dish, yong tofu! The curry soup is absolutely delicious - it’s not as sweet or coconut-y as many other joints around, which we really liked. Loved being able to select your own 6 pieces of yong tofu - we definitely recommend getting the Chinese fried donut stuffed with fish meat! The donut absorbs so much of the flavourful soup and it’s absolutely heaven!
Don’t forget to try their Teh Tarik as well! A really nice and fragrant tea aroma - the perfect drink to go with all the delicious food!
The service is also extremely fast - we ordered quite a number of dishes and they all came out within 10 minutes! All the food was so good, we ended up finishing it all between the four of us (despite the staff telling us that it would be too much!). Definitely recommend checking out this place!
Just a random meal with the fiancé and we decided for some Malaysian food. This little place had some interesting food and we decided to pop in and try. It was quiet good i ordered the chicken feed dry noodle which is very unique. The chicken food was really soft and nice just like the ones you would have at yumcha and he noodle was cooked nicely with the sauce. Would definitely recommend this place and be back soon try all the other food on the menu.
Best casual malaysian dining restaurant to date.
Traditional family feel and flavor. Friendly Angry auntie service!
Large serving sizes - win!
Price cheap for serving size approx $12
Service fast and furious!
4.5 beef brisket with soy sauce egg noodle - beef fatty but flavorful. Best part is egg noodle with a hint of sesame oil that makes it amazing! Chicken soup also clean flavor
5 bean stir fry - enough for 2.5 people and inclusion of sambal shrimp paste is as best as you get.
4.5 combination laksa - standard flavours and ingredients. Good and clean laksa flavour without too much heaviness
4 teh tarik - standard, no wow
I have eaten at a lot of Malaysian restaurants in Melbourne but I have never seen a dish like their homemade silken egg tofu. Hands down the best tofu dish I’ve had ever. Highly recommend this place. The proprietor Susanne is so friendly and happy to have a chat and makes an effort to get to know everyone. Will be back to try the laksa (and everything else) very soon! Service was great!
Best YONG TOFU in town!!
3 different choices of soup - pick it yourself
Fried kwetiau
Wa tan hor
All very nice. Good portion
Chinese tea provided
If you looking for hawkers food, I would recommend this place, especilly the soup!
The name says it all. Sure you can order a variety of Malaysian hawker dishes but the star of the show is yong tau foo which is a banner used to describe a variety of different vegetables and beancurd stuffed with fish paste. A great option for those in the west/city area who aren’t in the mood for a trek out to Grand Tofu in Glen Waverley.
One of the best Malaysian food I've had in Melbourne. Everything was tasty, without being too salty or oily. Plus the proportions were great for the price.
We ordered the char kway teow, yam ring chicken, and a bowl of yong tofu with curry soup. The char kway teow was delicious, had the smoky wok fried taste and the taste I was expecting from a char kway teow. It wasn't oily too. Definitely would come back here for it. The yam ring chicken was basically stir fried chicken in a fried yam ring. The chicken itself wasn't mind-blowing, but the yam elevated the dish, it was crispy and soft, and together with the sweet and salty flavours from the chicken - yes, just yes. The yong tofu curry soup was very authentically Malaysian and I enjoyed the stuffings. Wasn't too salty like how other places often do it.
The service and ambience was good. Food came pretty much within 5 minutes of ordering - very impressed by that.
Overall great place and settles my Asian cravings.
Came here on a Saturday night especially to try the yong tofu and I was not disappointed. They were busy but well staffed and the turnover was quick so we didn't have to wait long for a table. The menu offers pre-selected combinations of yong tofu, but I recommend ordering at the counter so you can pick out six pieces of your choice. After a short wait my steaming hot bowl of noodles came out and it was everything I expected. We also tried the combination Ipoh hor fun noodles, which was good but a touch too salty. I'll definitely be back to try some of the other Malaysian favourites on their very long menu.
Hands down the best chicken rice in Melbourne! Teh tarik has the right taste and consistency. Service was friendly and efficient. Food and drinks was served in less than 10 minutes from order. This place is definitely on my top list of Malaysian joint in Melbourne.
Great Chinese Malaysian food, very tasty and a good selection. Oats prawns are excellent. Helpful and friendly staff. A regular place for us.
There are a few good Malaysian places in Flemington. Laksa King is probably the most popular, but Myong Tofu would be our pick. Don't be put off by the prominence of Tofu in the title, this place has a wide range of dishes and I find the dishes consistently good.
They have a really nice eggplant dish with minced chicken, the missus loves the yam ring chicken, and the boy loves the noodle dishes.
The place can get quite busy but the service is efficient and friendly and they pump the dishes out of the kitchen even during busy times.
My hubby and I ordered quite a bit and I don’t think we even left a crumb behind! Excellent meat and veggie dishes for all to enjoy! We’ll definitely be back.
The food is magical and the staff are all friendly and can’t do enough for you . They even altered their menu for us as we wanted a salt and pepper fish made and it was no trouble at all . The place was rocking and was full to the rafters but the service and food was and is always 100 % . Place you must definitely go to
Aunty Susan's M Yong Tofu is a cut above the rest. If you want Malaysian food done right and full of traditional flavours, look no further because the service and atmosphere are on point. Try the truffle beef...it is seriously delicious! Will be back for sure👍👍👍
Friendly staff and owner. Very creative and delicious food, recommend to preorder the flaming lemongrass oyster. Drank with the owner and had the best time ever.
Really good food! It’s my first time here but I would say I would come back for many times! The service is good and so is the food! As a Chinese I really love Chinese Malaysian food. We enjoyed our time here.
This place is usually full even on week nights - recommended to book ahead. Very flavoursome food and lots of variety. Love a good malaysian feed.
Very authentic Malaysian food. It’s got the best fish head noodle soup ive tried in Melbourne. Staff are very friendly too. True hidden gem in Flemington. Highly recommended to all the Malaysian food lovers :)
My friends and I have discovered this place. We love it!! They were very accommodating to our last minute turn up on a busy Saturday night.
I had the yoong tau foo. Lovely and the curry soup base is gorgeous. My friend had the curry chicken dry noodles. Yummy. We had a dish for the little one and even she had some.
My friend has been back again since and says everything was delicious.
I watched the other patrons dishes in envy and will be back to try more dishes!
Been here a few times and the food has been consistently good. I absolutely love the yam ring and the special tofu dish. Seafood is fresh and perfectly cooked. Service is also decent.
Authentic malaysian food with a warm service... what more do you want!!! 😊... the entire experience was so memorable.. would love to go back and try everything on the menu...
After reading many positive reviews on the restaurant a group of us decided to give it a go. Delicious food and catered well to vegetarians. The curry puffs and vegetarian prawns were a little too oily but the vegetarian fried rice was delicious. Friends had the laksa and enjoyed it. Would recommend!
Currently my fav Malaysian restaurant in Melbourne, and oh so happy its near my 'hood! With its more famous competitor Laksa King around the corner, it says something that this place is always packed. Headed by a husband and wife team, the dishes here are very homely and always full of delicious flavours. Have tried many of their dishes, both non-vegetarian and vegetarian, and everything has been spot-on. Highly recommended.
It's quite uncommon that you can go to a Malaysian restaurant for the first time, pick several things from the menu, and be very pleased with them all. Such was the case at M Yong Tofu. The high praise from the reviews was indeed well-founded. Tried a handful of dishes: the mee goreng, curry laksa, oyster omelette and homemade egg tofu.
Ha, that mee goreng, it was definitely in my top three in Melbourne, I dare say it could take the number one spot. It had delicious tomatoey flavour like punggol style, but likely a bit of curry powder and other spices added in. The wok hei was insane. I didn't know it could be this good.
The curry laksa was very nice too. Generous ingredients, very thick and tasty gravy. Certainly a pleasure--above average for sure. The oyster omelette if I'm not wrong was a special. Honestly, it was pretty darn similar to what I've had in Singapore, only more oily I think. Comes with a nice sauce to dip in. And now for the famous tofu. The hype is certainly well-deserved. It's so saucy and tasty, and the texture is perfect for me. Not too weird and silky, but enough with good firmness. Even tofu-haters would come back for more after trying.
Fantastic Malaysian food experiences to be had here, if only it wasn't so far away from we in the South East!
Service: the owners are friendly, although a bit fussy where you can sit.
Food: amazing! Jam packed full of flavour. We have had:
Curry laksa, asam laksa, roti, wonton noodles, bak kuh teh...
One of our family local favourites. Really friendly lady owner who always makes us feel welcomed and the service staff are great.
Our favourites are: the fried yam basket, crispy oat prawns, egg tofu and caramelised pork. They are pretty busy during the weekend (especially dinner) so I would recommend booking unless you're prepared to wait. Not the most child-friendly as it is quite small and slightly challenging to manoeuvre a pram.
Love their mushroom chicken feet dry noodle so much, every time I want to try different things but I just couldn't resist ordering that dry noodle. So delicious. :)
My hubby always order their yong Tofu, lots of choice to choose from.
Second time back to this Malay style restaurant .
The myong tofu with mixed noodles in Laksa soup, soup taste fantastic.
Hainanese chicken with rice, chicken are boneless, moist , tender and juicy. The rice cooked with chicken broth with a hits of ginger flavor.
The homemade custard tofu was silky smooth.
Definitely recommend to everyone and hope to back soon
The prices here have steadily increased over the years. My usual spot for Yong Tau Foo - select 6 pieces for the display, noodle and broth type and enjoy your meal).
I've had the mains once with a larger group, and these were good Malaysian Chinese dishes. There are usually a few specials written up on the board.
Service always friendly and welcoming
Dropped in for a quick bite on a Sunday night and the place was pumping. Friendly service, good food and high turnover. Get in eat and get out. Delicious and easy on the wallet.
Best chicken in Melbourne! Aunty's service is the best and brightens your day irregardless of the Melbourne weather!!! Definitely recommend it to any having cravings for Malaysian food!!!
This place is always amazing! Great selection of food at great value. All the staff are super friendly and service is very efficient. One of my fav places in the area.
The food here is delicious. Tried all three of their soup bases. Curry tops the lot for me with the sour and tangy Assam a close 2nd choice. The staff here is generally helpful but if it is a little busy, there might be a few dismissive glances. It does get busy often which is a sign of how good the food here is. Great for families as well.
My new go-to place when we want a quick cheap meal. Tasty and some of their dishes rival those at Laksa King around the corner... Curries appear to be less grease-laden. Definitely worth a go when you can't be arsed waiting for a table at LK's
Local favourite. Most dishes are reliable - the odd few are hit and miss, but the signature Young Tofu noodle soup dish with 6 of your own choices of goodies never disappoints.
While Laksa King and Chef Lagenda are the known entities around Newmarket/Flemington, M Yong Tofu is another Malaysian eatery just minutes walk from the others and located on the busy Racecourse Road. One of the things that M Yong Tofu does differently is that it offers ‘Yong Tofu’ which is basically your choice of add ons such as eggplant, wonton, fish stuffed tofu, prawn dumplings, fish balls with your choice of soup (Curry soup/Chicken soup/Tom Yum soup) along with your choice of noodles (Hokkien noodles/rice noodles/egg noodles/rice vermicelli). However, while they do this they also offer the more commonly known Malaysian dishes such as Laksa, Mee Goreng, Char Kway Teow and Nasi Goreng.
Their chicken kerabu never fails to impress me. Sweet sour sauce with slice spanish onion, cucumber and pineapple pour on top of the crispy fried chicken always made me drool just thinking of it. Tried their famous yong tofu, KL hokkien noodle, fried kwai teow, salt and pepper chicken ribs, xo fried rice, but always come back to chicken kerabu. But overall the food never dissapointing. Definitely recommend this place.
The Standard laksa is so flavoursome, hearty and great value for money! Loved the tofu pieces and the generous noodle servings. Also tried the chicken satay which was good! Overall a great food place to try especially if you don't want to spend much.
What I love about this place is it differentiates itself from the other two Malaysian Eateries in the area by offering its speciality being the Yong Tau Foo which is basically Stuffed Tofu. At this place they serve the Yong Tau Foo as a soup. From the three options I chose the mixture of vegetarian stuffed Tofu and substituted the fried meat ball for the Stuffed Eggplant, with rice noodle and the Tom Yum Soup. The highlights were the bean curd roll, vegetarian prawn ( yes Prawns like humans can chose to be vegetarians!), the Stuffed eggplant and the sweet tofu skin, all top notch and a match made in heaven in combination with the sour and spicy soup. I tried a friends starter being the half dozen flaming lemongrass oysters and boy are these little morsels smack bang full of flavour. They come to the table sizzling & are covered with individual clay lids. Service here is impeccable and the owners are always keen to please, this is the best of the bunch even though it doesn't get the notoriety of its famous Pin Oak Crescent Cousins. Melburnian's go to Laksa King for Malaysian food, us local's come here!!
I love this place. Firstly, the food is amazing. The best Assam laksa I've had outside Malaysia. Authentic laksa. Also had the char kwey tao which had that lovely smokey taste and tasted like real the ones I've had in Penang. The noodles in egg gravy was delicious. A must try! Also worth trying are the deep fried squid from the entree section. I've heard the sago pudding here is good but was too full to try it. Next time!
Also, the staff are so amazing and friendly and make you welcome. Not at all like the other Malaysian restaurants. Perfect Malaysian food made by the most welcoming people. Thank you x
Second visit to myong tofu and it is not disappointing at all! Love every dishes we had ordered, definitely is one of our Malaysian foods favourite choice. Curry soup yong tofu is a must order dish and the steam fish really fresh and yummy delicious!
The friendliest restaurant in Australia . All the workers are extremely friendly and attentive ! Food was incredibly delicious . Makes me feels like home .
Thank you lady boss :) you are the best .
Great service (quick and friendly). My friends and I ordered a few main dishes to share. The yam ring chicken, homemade egg tofu and yong tofu were delish. Would love to return and try their curry and noodles someday.
Fast friendly service. Food is amazingly good. Mire uniquely tasting than the average Malaysian food . Must book oyster on fire. Very unique.
Myong Tofu is one of the best places in the area and here you will find authenticity, flavours and great value for money.
The venue and the food is nothing fancy but it is very practical: good food in great quantity for the right price.
I ordered a Chicken Nasi Lemak and after only 5 minutes it made its way to my table. It just hit the spot: spicy, flavoursome, textural and with a great overall balance. I loved it.
I would highly recommend to try to get yourself a meal and you won't regret it.
Final verdict: MBH approved.
Ps. Cash only
Delicious Malaysian food. Knowing the chef from Malaysia with years and years of experience, shows in the quality of the food. Seriously, if you complain about space, then you should go to KL and see! Enjoy the experience and don't be as soft as their tofu.
This has to be a new favourite of ours in Flemington. Service is good here and food is excellent! We’ve been here a few times in the past and came here again yesterday night! If you want a table without having to wait, make sure you book! Or if you don’t, come before 6:30! We booked for 6:30 but when we arrived there weren’t too many people which was good. The previous time we were here we didn’t book and arrived around 7:30 and had to wait a good half an hour!
This place is so delicious. Best curry laksa and their Assam laksa is also really nice. Love choosing from all the different tofus and stuffed eggplants to add to the soup. Seating can be crammed, but it's definitely worth it.
Had an amazing dinner last night with my partner . Food was fresh and tasted amazing and all the staff were very friendly. Best customer service I have received in a long time ! Can't wait to go back and eat there again next week
This is a partial rating because their yam basket is so damn good!
As a Malaysian and a cook myself, a good yam basket is tricky.
But their other food is good as well! Their curry chicken and their housemade tofu are so good!
Someone recommended me to try the laksa so i'll definitely give it a go next time!
But overall, this is the closest and dare i say on par with the food back in Malaysia.
Came here with a friend to try their yong tofu, and we were not disappointed! There were quite a lot of choices of yong tofu, which is hard to find in Melbourne. My friend opted for the curry soup, while I chose the tomyam soup. Both soups were so so so delicious! They weren't spicy, and were so full of flavor! Would definitely come back again to try other dishes.
We are so glad to tried this place tonight! Didn't really know what to expect (as we always go to either Laksa King or Chef Lagenda). We ordered their Char kway teow, salt pepper chicken ribs and banana fritter for dessert. Service was quick and they offered a lot of smile too, even when they are busy! Everything was yummy and we'll definitely come back for more!
